Super nice lady! She helped me out and was so professional. She had my dress ready within a week. Amazing hem work and I think reasonable price!! Will come again and recommend to others

We had two dresses altered for my daughter's prom, and the experience was wonderful. She was invited to another school's prom that required a dress code with no sleeveless styles, so we needed to add ribbon straps to one of the dresses. For her second prom, she wore a special vintage piece -- the dress I wore to a fraternity formal back in 1995! Since it was originally too small for her, they added panels to the sides to make it fit, and it turned out beautifully. The tailor did a fantastic job on both dresses, and my daughter looked absolutely stunning!

Sammy is the sweetest lady ever! She got me in right away to get my dress altered and I didn't have to make an appointment. I was so worried about getting my wedding dress altered because it's a lot of less and could easily be messed up. As soon as I put it on Sammy knew exactly what to do and got straight to pinning. She made sure to communicate with me if she needed more time on the dress but it was still done well in advance before my wedding which worked out because I lost weight and needed it taken in more (which was no problem for Sammy)! The dress looked AMAZING and you couldn't even tell it had been altered. Sammy is also just such a kind soul and I will be taking all of my alteration needs to her from now on. She's magical at her work and makes you feel so welcome. I love her!

I had a hard time finding places on yelp that had recent reviews for men's suit alterations. I ultimately decided to take a chance here based on reading how helpful Sammy, the owner, is. Those reviews were right! Her shop is also a nicely setup and professional alteration shop with full length mirrors. Sammy knew exactly what needed to be done and asked me questions throughout the process of what I thought and gave options and suggestions. She asked if I wanted a European or traditional cut on the suit, didn't know what that meant, and she showed me each option. She suggested other items that I didn't even think about as well to make sure I looked great in my wedding suit. Ultimately, I did 5 alterations on my 3 piece suit: jacket size reduction with European cut, jacket sleeve hem, vest size reduction, pant waist reduction, and pant leg hem. All these items ended up costing $217 which was surprisingly high, and the reason for the loss of a star. The most expensive items were the vest reduction and jacket size reduction/European cut both at about $60-$80 each. Regardless, I accepted knowing it would come out great. My suit fit perfectly!! I couldn't believe how well it fit even with the fitted/slim finish. I felt great in my wedding suit, it was a hit, and everything was well done.

tldr; I paid $28 for them to ruin a pair of pants when they should have explained that the pants wouldn't be wearable based on their limited skillset. Condescending - called me sweetie several times and doubled down instead of doing the right thing and refunding for a piss poor job. I really wanted to support this local business, but they completely disrespected my time and business. I dropped off two of my husband's work pants to see if they could be salvaged as one of them needed a zipper and another was developing small holes. They woman who came to the counter -- Sammy? -- she said they could fix those and I pointed out the areas where the pants needed reinforcement. She looked a little skeptical as to why I wanted those pants saved, but I had gone by all the reviews on Nextdoor that made her sound like an amazing seamstress. I've gotten clothes fixed and altered for years, so I decided to give her a chance at $28 per pair of pants. I was surprised at how long the job would take -- 3 weeks? OK, but they have a good reputation, so I will go with the flow. I came a few days later after the ready date on my receipt, but they were not ready. She asked me to come by in a few hours, but I didn't want her to rush, so I told her I'd come by the next day. And what I got was a smile and a total f*ck you job. If she couldn't salvage the pants, she should have been honest and told me. I don't care if a business is struggling in the pandemic - everyone is working hard for their money, and there is no excuse to take a job when she knew she'd produce a pair of pants that is not wearable. I asked her how these pants are even presentable - she called me sweetie several times and insisted that she'd told me she would use the zig zag stitch. Well, Sammy, you are the expert and describing what you'd be doing - not having the skillset to salvage the pants and just making ridiculous zigzag stitches - would have been the right thing to do instead of taking $28. I felt so deprioritized - she was doing 2 week jobs for other customers. My husband just laughed and shook his head when he saw his pants. Clearly Made to Fit have other loyal customers but for newcomers to Danville - think twice about giving them your money. There are other seamstresses with amazing skills and better turnaround time.

I had a last-minute urgent alteration for a pair of pants and they were able to take care of this quickly and at a fair price.

They are super friendly and accommodating and do great work. Some items seem a little pricy, but you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately, I have not had a great experience with these folks after a year of trying. Here's…read morewhy: 1. Their prices are very high, and they upcharge designer items simply because they are designer items - which they claim is necessary because of the "special care" required. They charged me $47.50 to dry clean a Versace silk sweater but the label simply said "dry clean only." No special methods, no extravagant fabric, no special trim. 2. They have ruined several pieces: two wool sweaters were shrunk beyond wear, and they recently managed to unstitch the crew neckline of a cotton sweater, which I can no longer wear. 3. I gave them a wool zip-front sweater with leather zipper tabs and when I went to pick it up, both leather tabs were missing. It took one month for them to replace the tabs and get it back to me. 4. Their cleaning is hit or miss. I have sent back simple cotton tops with simple stains that they marked unable to clean and - miraculously! - they were able to get the stain out the second time. 5. Their pricing is hit or miss. When I questioned a price, they would double check and suddenly realize they overcharged me. This happened at least 5 times. I sent an email explaining why they lost my business a few weeks ago and did not get a response. They clearly don't care about their customers or their business. I gave them one star because they do offer a member discount.

Crow Canyon Alterations - Another update. Friendly service and quality work as always! Thank you!

Crow Canyon Alterations

I had two items hemmed and altered. They were perfect. They were completed in a timely fashion…read more I would recommend them and would use them again.

I was a customer of Crow Canyon Alterations years ago and always had positive experiences. I…read morebelieve I worked with the previous owner at the time. Since I don't need alterations very often, it had been a while since my last visit. I recently returned, expecting the same quality of work and customer service I remembered. Unfortunately, my experience over three recent visits was so disappointing that I won't be returning. Over three separate visits within a few weeks, I brought in five items and spent $115 (3 jeans, 1 jean, 1 dress). The problems started when I brought in a pair of pants that a younger woman working there pinned and quoted me a price to hem. When I returned, the woman who appeared to be running the shop explained that they couldn't hem the pants as originally pinned because of something unusual about their construction. Apparently, the younger woman hadn't realized this. After I agreed to the alternative, I was also told the price would be higher than originally quoted. Not a great start, but I was willing to overlook it. The bigger issue came when I tried on three pairs of jeans I had picked up after hemming. One pair was still too long. I had been very specific about the length of each pair, even bringing in the shoes I planned to wear with them to ensure the hems would be just right. When I brought the jeans back, the woman examined the seam and insisted they had never been hemmed. That actually made sense, given that they were still too long! But when I explained that I had already paid to have them hemmed, she didn't believe me and wanted to charge me another $30. What followed was an approximately 20-minute back-and-forth over a $30 alteration. She repeatedly insisted I must be confused about which jeans I had brought in, even suggesting that I had so many jeans at home that I couldn't keep track. In reality, I had just purchased these four pairs and knew exactly which ones I'd brought in. She even spent about 10 minutes searching for my receipt, which confirmed that I had paid for three pairs of pants to be hemmed on one visit and one pair on a different visit. She told me she personally checks the quality of alterations before they are returned to customers and insisted that these pants couldn't have been overlooked, even though she acknowledged she had been sick and absent for part of that week. At no point did she seem willing to consider that a mistake on their end was possible. Most upsetting of all, she explicitly told me she didn't believe me. All of this over $30. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I was simply asking that the work I had already paid for be completed. Initially, I reluctantly agreed to pay half the cost again. But the more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt paying even more for work I believed I'd already paid for. I returned to the store and explained that I wasn't comfortable continuing to do business with someone who didn't believe me, especially after being a customer for years and having just spent $115. At that point, she agreed to hem the pants at no additional charge. Of course, that meant another week of waiting. Turnaround times were consistently a week, even for a simple $5 stitch on a dress I needed for an important event. When the pants were finally ready, I asked my husband to pick them up because I didn't want another unpleasant interaction. Even he, one of the most easygoing and friendly people I know, was surprised when she continued complaining to him about the situation and made a remark as he was leaving about my sending him to pick up the pants. To make matters worse, after trying on all four pairs of pants at home with the shoes I had specifically brought in for the fittings, I discovered that two pairs were still too long and needed to be rehemmed. After everything I've experienced, I certainly won't be returning to Crow Canyon Alterations to have them corrected. I'll be paying another alterations shop to fix the work. Even before these issues arose, I found the woman running the shop unfriendly and at times dismissive. I never felt particularly welcome as a customer. I understand that mistakes happen, but how a business handles those mistakes says a lot about its customer service. Between the inconsistent pricing, poor communication, lengthy turnaround times, the quality of the alterations, and especially the way I was treated, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. For anyone considering Crow Canyon Alterations, I'd recommend looking elsewhere if friendly service, clear pricing, quality workmanship, and accountability matter to you. After years of being a satisfied customer, I won't be returning.
