This was one of the easiest and most helpful places I've ever gone to in terms of patience, (my fiancée is physically disabled, so it took us a while to get her dress on to show where the alterations were needed,) customer service, (messaged and replied within 20 minutes,) and cost (some places have messaged back saying they started just below our ending cost.) Mei Ling is AMAZING! If I could give her 10 stars I would. My fiancé and I decided we wanted to elope in Tahoe the weekend of Thanksgiving. We made this decision only 10 days before Thanksgiving, not leaving me with much time to find a dress, let alone get alterations. I bought a dress the Friday before Thanksgiving but it had a long train and desperately needed to be hemmed. I called a few alteration places and they all told me the same thing...it's not possible to have it ready in 5 days. My best friend choose me to be the maid of honor in her wedding so I decided to get a long organza gown as my bridesmaid's dress. When the tailor I found didn't work out, she found Mei Ling for us. And I am so happy she did. When my gown finally arrived, it didn't fit the way I wanted to so I started to freak out a little bit because it was too late to order it in a different size (luckily I think I was just bloated when I tried it on b/c it fit where I needed it to later). But as I was freaking out in the dressing room at David's Bridal, the seaming and beading detail at the top of the dress started to split apart, which added to my anxiety. I took the dress without much other choice. After dropping off my friend's wedding gown with her a few weeks earlier, I felt confident that Mei Ling could take out my dress (even though the alterations at DB said that was not possible). She hemmed my dress, added spaghetti straps, and fixed the splitting seam (you couldn't even tell it had been damaged at all). All of this was done at an incredibly reasonable price. Not only does she do incredible work for really great prices, she is awesome! She is funny, personable, and sweet. Mei Ling is awesome!! I went to 6 different tailors/seamstresses and Mei Ling was the only one who could help with my daughters prom dress. Because it was a custom made dress, with 2 weeks left before my daughters senior ball, I went to Mei Ling for the third time (in between looking for nearby locations & comparing other seamstresses) she decided she could help me. It was a very difficult dress that was way too long that had embroidery sewn into the fabric along the bottom. Without damaging the intricate details of the dress she did her magic and it was money well spent in consideration of the work and timing it took to fix it..I highly recommend Perfect Alteration. She's very personable and responds quickly using text. My daughter was so happy. Another seamstress even told her she was better off buying another dress because she couldn't help her because the embroidery was so detailed. Thank god I went back. This is my first time writing a review. Mei Ling is a life saver!! I had a very detailed backless lace wedding dress with a scalloped hem that needed altering - both shortening of the dress and the straps needed taking in. Mei Ling was able to do both in a very short time constraint (8 days). She was extremely sweet, quick, and accommodating. I was not impressed. I brought two dresses in, one was quoted $80 the alterations (it was a $50 dress) and the other was $10. I decided to leave one for $10 and get a neck line altered by moving buttons...when I picked it up she left the extra fabric there, it didn't look right so she said she could sew it so it isn't loose....it isn't even in a straight line. This place is in a massage spa. I ended up taking my other dress to an actual alterations store front and was quoted much less. But they did tell me what she thought would fix the issue wasn't able to be done. I'm glad I went elsewhere for a 2nd opinion instead of possibly ruining my dress. read more

This "place" is a joke. $180 to alter my dress... That's almost how much the dress itself cost! The lady rushes me like crazy and she wouldn't even let me get dressed in my room so I had to put my clothes back on in front of her! She was really pushy and rude with me. I have a text conversation to prove it. Once I said I didn't want to pay $180, and took my dress back, she sends me a text saying she has an idea how I can save money. Clearly, showing that she was ripping me off in the first place. Who does that? She is not someone that I would do business with. She is a snake and just tried to rip people off, like myself. I ripped a favorite Patagonia jacket and my heart stopped but then I found Mei Ling thanks to Yelp! First thing you will note about her is that she is a really warm person. I instantly felt comfortable handing my jacket to her. She was confident she could repair it along with some other items I had brought that had some holes and patches. Within the week she texted me to let me know that items were ready. She did an excellent job on the jacket as well as everything else. I also appreciated that she is very responsive via text. Mei lIng is AWESOME!! I purchased a Sophia Tolli gown at Gesinee's and based on their Yelp reviews I decided to find another tailor. I found Mei Ling's Perfect Alterations on Yelp and scheduled an appt. with her about 6 weeks before my July 13 wedding, which - unlike a lot of otter tailors - was plenty of time. I had lost about 15 lbs since purchasing my dress and it needed to be taken in considerably. It's nerve-wracking to leave a $1200 dress with a stranger, however Mei Ling made me feel at ease . She is funny, very personable, and has been sewing since she was a girl - I felt very comfortable around her which made me feel comfortable leaving her my wedding dress. She had me come in a few times for fitting, length checks, etc. and she even made my veil, sewed bra cups into my dress, and created a little thigh band with a pocket to hold my insulin pump, all for a very reasonable price (would've been twice as much at Gesinee's). My dress came out PERFECT, it fit me like a glove and I am soooooo happy with the finished product! She prefers to text so text her to set up an appt. or ask questions, she responds very quickly. In the past, I have not had good luck with taking clothes in to be altered but all that has changed since I met Mei Ling! She is AWESOME! I took four tops in to be hemmed and you can't even tell that the alterations were done post-purchase. They look like they were made that way. She is detailed, thorough, prompt and she is VERY nice. So I had to buy my bridesmaid dress 2 sizes too big because they ran out of my size. Well enter Mei Ling! She was able to meet with me quickly, and after a little pinning, and adjusting I was on my way. She contacted me about a week later for the fitting, and after the go ahead she finished it up. When I picked it up, I put it on and realized that it was too big. In a panic I contacted her and she had me bring it over that night and after more pinning and adjusting I was sent on my way, and less than 24 hours later she had my dress ready... Which is great because I was going to be flying out for the wedding a few days later. I am so happy I found her, and I will use her for more things! Purchased a 4X Futuristic Blazer from China. I wear a Large in U.S. Clothing. I needed the blazer for a special party of which I had no plan B apparel for. The blazer arrived days before the party and was still 2 sizes too small. I prayed and here came Mei Ling. $50 to add cups to a dress and $50 to add a ribbon detail. More on the expensive side. She offered a cheaper option of sewing the cups onto the outside of the lining of the dress instead of inside between the fabric panels which was nice ($20 instead of $50) but I declined. My dress had a defect and Mei came up with a solution to add ribbon. I ended up ultimately removing the ribbon. I decided it took away from the dress. Mei was very kind and offered to replace the ribbon with something else free of charge. I didn't have time before my trip to bring the dress back but I appreciated the offer. She is very busy so allow Mei time to and bring in your alterations early if you can. I had a short window to work with as the dress was delayed by shipping.
