Stumbled onto Enoteca Percio after a long day of shopping and sightseeing in Florence. Open only a week, this wonderful bistro/wine tasting room was exactly what I was looking for. Specialties include focaccia, crostini, salumi, charcuterie, pasta, and on yes, WINE!
We ordered the charcuterie board for one (€9.50) loaded with prosciutto, salami, cheeses, mortadella , artichokes, and sun dried tomatoes. Outstanding and enough to share. The caprese (€5) was amazing with bufala mozzarella, fresh tomato and basil. Focaccia, Olive oil and balsamico were brought complimentary.
I live in the Napa area and I can truly say The wine tasting was incredible. One of the best i can recall. I opted for the high end (gold) for €18. This consisted of 3 stellar regional Toscana wines. Chianti riserva, Montalcino, and Brunello di Montalcino v2012. Each one topping the one previous and none rated less than 90 points. Our waiter, Henry, was outstanding and extremely knowledgeable on all wines. My wife also enjoys Aperol spritz and prosecco.
Atmosphere is combo salumeria/ enoteca adorned with prosciuttos and other cured meats & cheeses and vintage bottles throughout. Charming and cozy and filled with the common laughter and robust discussions of Italian locals. Wanted to stay all day.
Situated in a perfect location on Via dell'Oriuolo 26/r at the intersection of Borgo Pinti in Firenze. Brand new location, and as of this writing Yelp and TripAdvisor don't have it, so I'm submitting it. read more
