We went to Peperoncino for a 50th Wedding Anniversary party. This restaurant was wonderful. They went above and beyond. The food was delicious. The pasta was hand made and the sauce was absolutely perfect. Service was great and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Ida for the fantastic meal and a great time. My family loved everything!

We had met up with the family for dinner here and were very disappointed. Neither the food, nor the service was very good at all and the attempt by the waitress to recover at the end just before tipping time was quite transparent and really too late. We ordered a salad, one order of spaghetti with extra fresh basil on top, a Calabrese pizza and mussels with garlic bread. The spaghetti came with pesto on top which the waitress insisted was basil, the pizza was actually quite good, the salad was similar to one that could be taken off a salad bar. My mussels initially came without any bread and when I asked about it, the waitress said it was being grilled. About 10 minutes later after the mussels were cold, She brought me 2 slices of absolutely burnt bread stating it was grilled. After I complained, and seeing that I was waiting, I was given a slice of non toasted plain bread. The sauce for the mussels was decent. I have and will continue to be under the impression that if I'm eating out and paying good money to do so, a restaurant should deliver on quality of food and service. It should be better than what you can do at home (as an untrained cook!). This place far from delivers. We won't be back. Total after tax and tip $112 ish If we just got the Calabrese pizza and left, I may have had a different impression. A pity that this place gets a one star from me - I really did like the pizza.

It would be a bit of a pain to get to by transit from Vaughan Metropolitan Centre though. Inside, it's spacious and open, with a massive wine rack right at the front. They also have two separate areas: the main dining room and a "next door" section that's basically its own room, which is nice if you want a slightly different vibe. Service: 3.5/5 They get busy (like "book days in advance" busy), so service can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes it took a while for our server to swing by, but food came out in a reasonable timeframe once we ordered. Definitely recommend reserving ahead. Food: 3.5/5 Big Italian menu with lots of pasta and pizza options, plus mains like chicken parm, lamb chops, and branzino. The wine and cocktail lists are extensive, which fits the whole "giant wine wall" aesthetic. The Caesar salad was honestly the standout, really well done. The starter bread was a miss for us: a bit stale and not warmed, like it had been sitting out for a while. Dessert, though, redeemed things. The dessert menu has a lot of variety, and the toffee dessert our server recommended was great, especially with the vanilla ice cream. Overall, solid spot with real highlights, but I'd love to see more consistency across the rest of the menu.

Mama Mia! Is this the best pizza in town?…read more I finally came to check out the top reviewed pizza shop in Vaughan. Taste of Naples Pizzeria is hugely popular for locals here with many Italians in the area. The 16" pizza yielded 8 large tasty slices with a soft light pizza crust, fresh tomato sauce & good topping ingredients. Crisp thin crust bottom gave a nice finish. This is a real Neopolitan pizza that's a touch better than I've had elsewhere. You do pay a bit more for the quality compared to another local fav next door. Be sure to order takeout early as we encountered a queue but our pizza was ready in a timely manner. Just wait for your number to be displayed outside before heading in to pickup. As they say on the restaurant wall, you owe it to yourself to try. Let me know what you think!

It wasn't mentioned at the time of purchase, and I didn't realize it until I got home. We are the pizza about 30 minutes after pickup, and found the crust to be hard and chewy. For the reasons of the pizza being burnt, the surcharge, the tough crust, and that there are many pizzarias to consider in Toronto instead, so I will not be returning.

The restaurant usually closes for special celebrations/events during the day on weekends, so we were very grateful that they could accommodate us this one-time :) The service was A+, very friendly and welcoming host and servers. I absolutely loved the soup of the day: Minestrone. It was so hearty, delicious and filled with so much ingredients. The beet salad with arugula and feta cheese was delicious. The Genoa pizza was nice and thin, and loaded with pesto, pine nuts, chicken, mushrooms and cheeses. My pizza was decent, but the wife's lamb shank was extremely tender and rich. Couldn't really evaluate the seafood pasta....but it seemed pretty good as our kid killed the entire order. The tiramisu was really really good, but what really was impressive was the ambiance and the service. Staff was so friendly and very very attentive....though quite possibly just taken back by our kid's appetite.

I had never been here before, so there was a brief hesitation since I thought this could either make me look like a foodie genius or a complete fraud. But then I saw photos of the beautiful olive tree in the dining room and thought, well... any restaurant confident enough to put a tree in the middle probably knows what it's doing. I was sold. The verdict? I'm glad I brought them--though there was one small caveat. The one con: We started with the Vegetarian Board. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked, but I have to call out a small disappointment: the menu clearly says "chef's selection of vegetables and olives." Reader, unfortunately...there were no olives. Not a single olive in sight. In a restaurant with an olive tree, no less. The irony was almost poetic. Minor false advertising aside, the broccolini was also a bit more bitter than I personally enjoy. Now the pros (and there were many): The rest of the meal was exceptional--fresh, satisfying, and very authentically Italian. To start, we had fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The olive oil alone almost stole the show. It was incredibly fragrant, with that bright, crisp olive flavour that lingers on your palate like it was pressed five minutes ago. I may or may not have eaten more bread than dignity allows. For my main, I had the pasta special of the day: oxtail casarecce, and it was fantastic. The sauce was creamy and packed with umami. The oxtail was tender and chewy at the same time, somehow both hearty and melt-in-your-mouth. And the pasta itself was clearly fresh--springy, perfectly textured. Fresh pasta really does make all the difference. My coworker ordered the paccheri con zucchine e gamberetti, which I sampled strictly for research purposes. It was lighter and refreshing, with delicate zucchini that made the whole dish feel balanced and satisfying. My other colleague went with the daily secondi special: pesce alla griglia (sea bream). I also tried a bite of that, and it was excellent--crispy skin on the outside, tender and flaky inside, juicy and full of flavour. The only small drawback was that the sides were the exact same vegetables as the ones from our Vegetarian Board, so by round two my colleague was a little overwhelmed by the déjà-vu of vegetables. Then came dessert--easily everyone's favourite part of the night. Two of us ordered the tiramisu, and honestly, it might be one of the best I've had. When they serve it, they pour a freshly brewed shot of espresso over the top, which soaks into the layers and perfectly complements the mascarpone and cream underneath. It was ridiculously good. Our other coworker ordered the pistachio strawberry cake and absolutely demolished it in about two seconds flat, which I think is the highest possible dessert endorsement. Price-wise: this isn't a cheap casual spot, but it's very reasonable for a high-quality dinner. My pasta, dessert, and service came out to almost $70, which felt fair for the experience. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm, and overall we had a genuinely lovely dinner. Most importantly, bringing my coworkers here made me look like I actually know what I'm doing when recommending restaurants--which is always a win. Olives or not, I'd happily come back. And next time, I'm thinking date night.

Menu is one page consisting of salad, pizza and pasta. 3 options for dessert. Pizza is Roman style. Prices are on the higher end with pastas priced between 15 and 22 bucks. Portions are generous though. There is no complementary bread with your meal. We arrived for lunch at noon and there was only 1 other table and as a result service was good. Staffing was 2 people. I ordered the pollo affumicato which is a cream white sauce with spinach and smoked chicken on tagliatelle. Couldn't tell if the chicken was smoked but pieces were generous as was the spinach mixed through. Because it was cream sauce it was a heavy dish. All three pasta dishes came with grated Parmesan on the pasta already so if you don't like, best to mention this when ordering.
