So far I've only been here once for an oil change but I really like how convenient it was that I could schedule online, it was only a couple dollars more than I usually pay at my mechanic and I was able to get it done on a Sunday. They did tell me that my battery was weak and offered to sell me a new one to the tune of almost $200. I went to Walmart across the street instead and got one for 100. read more

Wish I could do 0 stars. Very very disappointed. Took truck into get front end Alinement done Supposedly fixed drove home seemed better but not 100% right. Went out town for work couple weeks when got back home drove truck just as bad when brought it in. FYI, truck had new shock, ball joint whole front end fixed 4 month earlier(NOT done at pep boys.) Still pulling bad to left. Took back to pep boys because paid $170 for lifetime warranty Alignment. Pep boys tried saying this is messed up, ball joints are wore. Still drives like crap & pulls to left bad. $170 I wasted at pep boys. Lifetime warranty I paid pep boys they will never fix right. Waste of time & big waste of money. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PEP BOYS. Pep Boys on Baseline and Stapley in Gilbert, AZ used to be a good place for me to take my car for repairs as opposed to the dealership. They used to be good at finding ways for me to save money from their original quote. Today (6/30/2022) I went in and the people were not the same I dealt with in the past. The front desk guy was rude and when he told me that I needed a new AC compressor - I knew it was a lie. He told me that the compressor would stop working after 10 minutes. He charged me $49.99 plus tax to tell me this and then told me he wanted to charge me an additional $59.99 to test the electric system. I paid the first quote of $49.99 and left the premises. I took my car to Firestone Car Services and they ran a series of tests and said the compressor was fine that all it needed was some freon. The cost was under $200. What a rip off from Pep Boys. read more

When I left I was impressed with the work they did. I never felt my Jeep be this cold before and have my Jeep run this good. I am totally disappointed in Pep Boys today! I have been having work done by them for over 40 years and I have never experienced the complete lack of customer service that I did today. I scheduled an 8:30 am appointment for an oil change at 1267 East Baseline in Gilbert Az (location 6474). The store opens at 8:00 so I though I would miss the door rush when opening. Imagine my surprise when I got there at 8:15 and no employees were there. The doors were locked, and the lights were off. When someone finally did arrive with the keys they made no apologies or assurances work would be on schedule. What was more distressing is no mechanics were even there yet to perform the work. When asked if my appointment would be honored and my oil change completed in 30 minutes, I was told it would be an hour minimum. I chose not to support the incompetence of this location! Has Pep Boys become incompetent and intentionally defecating on long time customer or is it just a totally mismanaged location? Or worse, has Pep Boys put their trust in an incompetent manager with absolutely zero customer service skills. read more

I went to get my suspension checked out and could not have been more pleased by the service I received here. After the mechanic took my vehicle for a test drive, John brought me up to the counter and went over what repairs would be needed and the cost of each. He was straightforward and honest by telling me that the repairs would likely cost more than the car is worth. I really valued such an honest assessment. I got the feeling that he cared more about me as a person than he did about selling me a service that might not be justified for an older vehicle. It's always a little bit nerve-wracking when you have to take your car in because you don't know if the place will be honest or if the prices will be fair. This experience and John's superior service has made me want to go back to this Pep Boys and share my experience with others. Thank you! read more

Ok so where do I began.... We came to this location because the Pep Boys location near us was busy and recommended them and it was a very good thing. The price I was given was way out of my budget. This location along with their manager Kenneth was great. He explained to me what needed to be done and why it needed to be done. I wasn't met with rolling eyes or annoyance when I asked for more detail and explanations. The pricing was something that I couldn't afford. I didnt qualify for the financing either. I asked what minimal work I could get done with my budget and still be able to drive. Store Manager was great he started working numbers and seeing what could be done with parts and everything needed. When all was said and done. I was able to get my vehicle fixed on my budget and have a reliable transportation. I wanted so bad to hug these great people. You always hear negative stories about mechanics. This is not the case with these wonderful guys here. They really go above and beyond to take care of their customers. I am very grateful to them. This place has my trust and business. Used to come to this location all the time when it was Advanced automotive. Since the change in ownership to Pep-boys the customer service has been atrocious and their prices for service, both minor and complex, have been beat at every turn. Honestly if I could give this zero stars I would. Super disappointing, but thankfully my family has found another local shop that still believes in treating people right and not price gouging people in need of help. read more

This place was horrible! I had antifreeze leaking. They try to tell me first it may be the cap then went to the whole radiator which that was not the case. The following day I took it to an actual mechanic all the hoses we're not put back into place and was leaking even worse after pep boys look at it.
