Found this awesome salon on ClassPass, not only the service is top notch, but they were able to fulfill my request despite how short my nails are! Due to my job, I can't have long nails but I like to do manicure once in a while especially before vacationing! All the staff are friendly and it's such a serene vibe. I came in with my sister for a pedicure and everyone was so nice and friendly! The pedicure came with a 5min neck message which was sooo nice! I think they did a great job and I am really happy with my pedi. They have the DND line with more sheer polish and I really like it because it's like the Japanese jelly polish. This nail salon recently took over the space of a previous salon that is currently offering 20% off services and I had a great experience here. I got a pedicure and a classic French gel manicure with Julie. She is an experienced technician who provided professional, detailed, high-quality work. I'm very satisfied with the results. What really sets this salon apart from others is the thoughtful touch of a mini shoulder massage included with the service--it was such a nice bonus. Today was my first time at Peony Nails Lounge and it's because Jenny told me she was moving here. She's been my girl since day ONE for my nails, so of course I followed her here without hesitation. Not only did Jenny move here, but I was greeted by Julie when I walked in and she gave me a huge hug because she was so happy to see me. I always get builder gel with Jenny and gel pedis with Julie and I've never left disappointed. I've never felt rushed and I really appreciate their attention to detail. I can tell Jenny what I envision for my nails and she gets it exactly how I want it to look. Julie really takes her time when she massages my legs and doesn't wipe aggressively with the hot towel. The salon itself is clean, welcoming, and has a relaxing atmosphere. The owners were so friendly, I even got a free 5-minute shoulder massage. This salon is a little further for me but I don't even care because it's so hard to find good nail techs you can converse with and just an overall friendly salon. read more

I got my nails done with gel builder by Jenny and let me just say they look so perfect! First of all everyone in the salon is so kind and friendly, but also their service is top tier. Just look at how clean my French tip is and she did it all in one go. On top of that, they give complimentary cuticle oil here which is so nice of them, and they also let you pick which scent you want (I picked rose it's my favorite). Today was my first time at peony nails and it was fantastic! I had my nails done by Jenny, had a hard gel service, and she did a wonderful job. Always making sure I was happy with the length, file and color! I also got a pedicure which was great as well. They have massage chairs for the pedicure and they instantly grabbed me a water when I sat down! What surprised me was they offered a free 5 minute neck and shoulder massage which was amazing! I went here for the first time today since my favorite nail technician Julie moved here. Julie never turns down a design I want, and that's why she's my favorite. If you have a design in mind, she can do it and even add her own ideas. As for the salon, all the staff were nice, and I even got a free 5 minute neck and shoulder massage which is their promo. I needed a last-minute pedicure appointment and Peony was able to accommodate. Service was fantastic! I was greeted with water and my son was given a juice. They also had snacks but I declined. (I just found out I have Covid). I attempted to reschedule through Vagaro, but because my appointment was less than six hours away, the system would not allow me to do so. I called the salon and was informed by a staff member that I would be charged a $10 cancellation fee despite being sick and wanting to reschedule rather than cancel outright. Since my service was only an underarm wax, the fee amounted to approximately 40% of the total service cost. I asked whether an exception could be made given the circumstances, but was told it was the "manager's policy." The response felt very scripted and lacked any empathy for the situation. I ultimately agreed to pay the fee, but asked that the manager be informed they had lost a customer over $10. Unfortunately, the experience became even more disappointing. The manager, Sarah, called me after I had already explained that I was sick and wanted to discuss the situation. I was really not feeling well and did not appreciate receiving a call to discuss this further. I told the manager that, because I wasn't feeling well, the only discussion I was interested in having was whether the cancellation fee would be refunded. Instead of addressing my concern, Sarah ended the call abruptly by HANGING UP ON ME. I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, but customer service and compassion matter. A little flexibility for a client who woke up sick and was trying to reschedule, not avoid paying, would have gone a long way. Instead, I was charged a fee that represented a significant portion of the service cost and was treated in a way that ensured I won't be returning. If you book here, just be aware that if you wake up sick on the day of your appointment, you should expect the cancellation fee to be enforced regardless of the circumstances.

If you decide to visit, I recommend getting to know who will be providing your service. In the past, my wife has received nothing but exceptional service here, which is why this experience was so surprising. Another concern was the payment process. She was told that a new California law requires a 20% tip to be added when paying with a card, and there was also an additional $3.50 charge for debit card users. Had we known about these fees beforehand, we would have brought cash. Based on my understanding, the explanation regarding the mandatory 20% tip did not seem accurate. I am happy to leave a generous tip when service is exceptional, but I do not believe customers should be required to pay a 20% gratuity, especially when they are dissatisfied with the quality of the service they received. While this visit was disappointing, I want to acknowledge that previous experiences here have been very positive. I hope management addresses these concerns to ensure future customers have a better experience.
