The hostess was very nice and quickly had a table cleared. She'd offered to sit me at the bar but 1) it was crowded and 2) I've rarely been happy sitting/eating at the bar so I was glad to wait for a table. It was on the patio and fortunately we had beautiful weather. Without that option, it might have been quite a wait. So many delicious looking pics on Yelp that I was torn between numerous lunch options. I chose the meatloaf sub. Meatloaf on a soft hoagie bun covered with melted cheese, and a side of onion rings. The rings were nice and crisp and actual rings, not the premade minced onions that some serve. I didn't care for the dipping sauce so, when I was able to catch another server, requested ketchup. The sandwich was delicious with the meatloaf nicely flavored. It included a pesto spread which I didn't care for but some might. I would have preferred a marinara base but everyone has their own taste. I'll add this to my return-to places as I'd really like to try their brisket grilled cheese and meatloaf bowl.

All of the employees we encountered were very friendly. Ally was our server and was AMAZING. We told her it was our first time there and she gave us some great recommendations. They also made a really good margarita and I am not typically a fan of traditional margaritas. The food and drink recommendations she made for the table were great, and the onion rings are definitely the best ones we've had in the area since relocating here. Both sandwiches we had were great. The Chicken Philly had a little bit of a kick to it, which made it a nice change from usual Philly sandwiches and the Cuban was different from a traditional Cuban as it had some barbecue sauce on it. It was a little different for me at first, but I ended up really liking it. Both salads were pretty big and both people really liked the salads. The person that got the blackened grouper Baja salad thought that the grouper was fabulous, seasoned perfectly and loved the salad overall. Drinks are either brewed tea, or canned/bottled beverages. I have grown particularly fond of their club sandwich. It comes with a lot of meat on it, and they're happy to sub in Honey Mustard for mayo, which is the way I prefer it. Another thing that I love here, when they have fried okra, GO FOR IT. It appears to be hand-breaded and fried to order, the most recent batch I had was perfect. Golden brown, crispy outside, tender okra inside. Yum. Our visit 28 SEP @ 19945 (After the Wake Forest football game)…read more Let me start with there is nothing wrong with this place. There are thousands of these strip mall, multi cuisine fast food counter service restuarants. They fill a key slot in the dining industry. We were hungry, we got meals, we ate every bite. I am however not sure about the five-star rating. I suspect the two raters prior to me are very nice guys. My wife found the Google entry and there are 367 reviews (avg. 4.2). I went and read some of the reviews. I think its a case of grade inflation, peoples score they choose does not match their description of their experience. I lay all that out there because I try to be as fair, and useful as I can when I write these because I use Yelp to help me make decisions when we travel. I wouldn't want to mislead others. So this restaurant was not that far from our hotel and we wanted to get food and take it back to room and watch some more football on TV. I guess we didn't get enough at the 41-38 loss WFU suffered earlier. It is a little dark, a little run down, but seemed clean as far as I could tell. There were no weird smells, just fryer grease and roasted chicken and pizza. My wife got an Italian sub, no ham, no cappacola, just salami and cheese (she's a toddler sometimes). Sort of half expected them to add a bit more salami to round out her sandwich, they didn't. I got a rotisserie chicken sub. It was okay, the chicken tasted good but there wasn't much of it. We both got fries and they were pretty decent (a little steamed because there were no holes poked in the styrofoam containers (most places know that trick). Our meals ran us $24, about what things cost these days, but not quite the value for what we got. Like I said, it was okay, we ate it all and were happy to have a meal. I'm not sure we would be regulars if we were local, while this place is okay, I suspect there are a few slightly better places in the area.

Part of that is due to its proximity to area businesses although the friendliness of the folks working here certainly helps too. The same family that owned Jack's Corner near UNCG owns this place. In light of that and of how long they've been around, I really wanted to like Wallstreet Deli. Ultimately, I found it to be solid if not impressive. Though Wallstreet bills itself as a New York-style deli, it really isn't much of one, and if you head in expecting that experience, you'll leave disappointed. Approach it as a sandwich shop with some Mediterranean/Middle Eastern offerings, however, and it acquits itself much better. The menu features hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, salads, plus souvlakis, gyros, kababs, and falafel. I was craving a cheesesteak, and the steak and cheese combo with fries fit the bill nicely. Even after adding mushrooms (an upcharge), it still came out under $15 pre-tax. I took it to go and found it satisfying. The sandwich offered a decent amount of meat and plenty of flavor. The fries were OK - not as crisp as they could be but not underdone or undersalted - though I would probably skip them on a future visit. Wallstreet Deli is a fast, friendly, fairly tasty lunch option for anyone in the vicinity of the airport, but take proximity out of the equation, and you can find better Mediterranean and better sandwiches elsewhere in town.
