First time in! I will be returning. The service was great. Very friendly staff. They were working hard to keep tables bussed. It was very busy and I understand why. Breakfast food is served all day. Lots of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, country/southern food. A lot to choose from and prices were reasonable for sure. My partner got an entree that came with three sides and a soup- I had one of their sides and the soup it came with. The fried okra was awesome! It'll be the side I get every time. Stopped in here on a Friday evening as we were traveling across the state and the place was almost empty. We were told to sit wherever we wanted so we picked a fun emerald green booth for two. Some of the locals referred this spot to us and I must say they did not disappoint! When we drove up we were a little skeptical but it was worth a the try. The staff was friendly, we went during a weekday morning so it was empty however it did start to get a little crowded when we were leaving. We ordered the short stack (which was just enough) and the meat lovers omelette. I enjoyed the short stack it had a great taste and the meat lovers omelette was great as well. We are morning and early afternoon regulars. The food is always good. The morning and early afternoon noon service is always excellent. When we come for dinner on rare occasions, almost every time the service is crap for dinner .Today we had an early dinner and our server left a lot to be desired. The earlier shifts always leaves extra napkins. I had to ask for them with the later shift. The 3 servers and manager on duty where to busy sitting at the counter and behind the counter shooting the breeze. Our waiter never bothered to ask if we wanted anything else. I asked for a to go box and the check. He finally brought the to go box but never the check. We got up to pay and the bill was sitting next to the credit card machine. He ran the credit card and watch for the amount of tip I would leave. I left him 15% because he was staring at me. I was going to leave him 10%. The next time a server does this I will not leave a tip. The servers in the morning always get 20 to 25% and sometimes more. I think I'm just going to have to stay Way from Carolina diner for dinner. Like I said it's always one thing or another with the evening shift. Onçe the evening server thought she had to argue with me. I have been to this location probably close to 100 times. This is an old fashioned, greasy spoon diner, not far from the Greensboro airport. It's a little off the beaten track, but worth the adventure. It js one of five in the area sharing the name and the menu. They serve breakfast, and lunch, with some daily specials. We arrived Sunday morning around 11:30am and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. I had to circle the parking lot twice to fond a parking place. Four of us were seated in a booth on the sunny side of the building. It was a hot spot. The manager tried to fix it, but to no avail. Our server showed up in a timely fashion and took drink orders quickly. She returned quickly to take food orders. The place was slammed, and servers were jumping. Manager was delivering food. So, what about the food? I ordered the Pizza Smash Burger and fries. The burger was delicious - a large, smash burger topped with a meaty pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese. The bun was soft and fresh. The patty was flavorful and well cooked. While a bit sloppy, this was a good burger. Ended up using a fork. The fries were hot and crispy. Carolyn and Andy ordered biscuits with sausage gravy with cheesy scrambled eggs and grits. They were pleased and enjoyed their breakfast. Gerald ordered the pork chop breakfast. Came with scrambled eggs, a biscuit with gravy, and grits. Grits were good. Average price was around $11 a person, plus beverage. Service was fast. Kept beverages filled. Other than being a touch warm on our side of the dining room, we enjoyed out visit, and recommend Carolina's Diner, 506 South Regional Road, Greensboro, for a hardy breakfast or lunch. read more

This is certainly a staple in Greensboro. I've been to the ol' Carolina Diner a few times after a long day. They know their classics such as a short stack of pancakes with all the fixings. Waffle? It's a diner, out dated decor in an old building with cooks slinging out home style food for low prices. We ordered two skillets, a sausage skillet and meat skillet and added gravy. They were good, the portions are hearty and the coffee is hot. The restaurant was busy and loud. A kid spilled his drink all over the floor. I saw a dead fly. I think there was a "working gal" walking in front of the Motel 6. I like the Archdale location better. I was greeted promptly and asked how many would be in my party. I waited a couple of minutes for a booth to open up. The server was right there and brought my beverage. The menu has a lot of choices but I chose to go with one of my favorites, a western omelette. It came with grits (just about everything does) and I elected to have toast and hash browns. Everything was done perfectly. The food was delivered promptly. My friend had the corned beef hash skillet. They forgot to add the hash and brought it separately. He said the cooks were looking at him to see if he'd be ok with that. He enjoyed his breakfast. This is a great place to go for breakfast. They're open 24 hours and offer non-breakfast items. This is your traditional American diner with mediocre food and friendly but chaotic service. The food is very cheap and you can get a lot of it. I ordered the Big Boy breakfast because it was a ton of food for only $9.50. The food is exactly what you'd expect. It's nothing special but it arrives quick and the order is correct. The bacon could have been much crispier but I enjoyed the rest of it. The waitress kept saying she'd bring me syrup for the pancakes but it took her about 4 times before she remember, but she apologized. Overall, cheap American diner food that gets the job done. We walked in and you were warped back in time. The atmosphere was nice and clean, decor nostalgic, service very impressive, shout out to our Server Ms Amanda M They had there awards perfectly posted right by the door. Our experience-4 1/2 The food was freshly cooked, beautifully seasoned & pleasantly plated for your enjoyment. I enjoyed a bowl of chili paired with cornbread that tasted like creamy fluffy clouds; no lie yummy My sidekick enjoyed the thinly sliced pork chops, stuffing with gravy, a side of fries and a glass of sweet tea. Great job to the kitchen staff. We will be back again very soon to try breakfast. There were so many items on the menu that caught our attention.
