Huge addition! This box is spacious
    Courtney K.

This box is the best thing ever and such a gem in my neighborhood! They recently underwent a massive renovation which tripled the size and amenities available to all of its members. Don't be afraid of working out! The members are diverse and vary in degree of fitness. Some just want to break a sweat and others are 100% competitive. Best things about this place: - the coaches and owners, they have built such a positive and friendly environment for their members. - the members of the gym! Everyone is so positive and super awesome! It really feels like a family. Awesome amenities: - they have child care during busy hours, waaaaah I know how rare is that? - pet friendly for your little fur babies - it's a gorgeous space with great equipment and looker rooms - crossfit, weight lifting classes, boot camp, running club, personal training and crossfit 101 classes for those who are new

Update: this is STILL the best place for fitness in all of Pasadena. Not only have I continued to see improvements in my own health through my 4 years as a client of CrossFit Pendulum, I've had the joy of watching others in this fabulous community experience the same. I travel for a living, and therefore drop into a lot of CrossFit Boxes. I have yet to find one with as attentive coaches, with such an organized facility, and with such a supportive environment. For the AVERAGE person: this box has everything it takes through coaching, programming, and attentiveness to help you reach your goals from wherever you're at, with no judgement. For the INJURED/DISABLED/RECOVERING person: the coaches here will include you in workouts without hurting you further, and adapt the workout to your needs. I have seen clients in here with a history of back injuries, knee surgeries, shoulder issues, car accidents, clients over 70 years of age, morbidly obese, history of eating disorders, prosthetic-wearers, you name it, come in and get fitter and stronger, and even improve their mobility despite their injuries and "limitations". The coaches here CARE about the individual's history and needs and know what to do. For the ATHLETE: This is the place to be challenged and improve. Each coach here knows how to equip you and hold you accountable to better your performance.

After attending Stride, I'll probably switch over to this studio instead. First off, I really like that Stride is inclusive to all fitness levels and give options for both walkers and runners. It has a range of different treadmill levels for Levels 1-4. This allows me to self-regulate and go easier or faster depending on how I'm feeling that day. This allows me to sufficiently warm up and I feel like I'm getting the most out of my workout. You only switch once during the combo so I definitely can take my time and do quality reps. Seriously there is nothing more annoying that switching between workouts super quickly and I don't even have time to catch my breath so please keep this format!

Game changer and much better use of space. I've been liking this new format because it added room for the strength and weight-training portion of the class. The benches are really nice and each bench has your own set of weights ranging from 7.5 to 25 pounds. Not having to get the weights you think you'll need for class is really helpful. For me, I still average around 2-3 miles per Combo class and that's perfect for me. This new format helps me hit more muscle groups than before! I also like the screens showing the strength moves on the strength side so it's easier to remember. Instructors and staff are all still amazing and welcoming. Definitely a class worth checking out!

Committing to just one gym is difficult when each person goes through their productive, creative, or hibernation periods. I've wanted a place that made me look forward to going and not finding reasons to skip out. After some time with ClassPass, a 45-day workout challenge and a dozen-full of memorable buddy pass classes later, I finally made a decision I've been happy with since. Basecamp for the win. Love their lower to upper to full body workout schedule, the alternation between cardio and strength, the change/rotation of class layouts, their equipment, and of course, the instructors and team themselves. Special appreciation for the 9am goers because they became a solid community for me when I was going through some post-grad life transitions and turbulence. Somehow, when I was considering what to properly invest in while sacrificing to save money from other things, this was a good alternative investment that has sparked back some love for workout classes again. Well-deserved shout outs to Coaches Nick, Jacqueline, and Oliver and the front desk team. If you're looking for a motivating space, it's a good place for a comeback and a fresh start. Since F45 is a franchise, it's pretty fun to think that people across the world are doing the exact same workout as we are here in Pasadena. When traveling to different states, or even other countries, I've been able to visit studios there and I love the familiarity of it. There's no awkwardness or intimidation factor since it feels like home. The Pasadena studio is family-owned and the owners, Gabe & Michelle, take feedback and concerns seriously. They're always looking for ways to make the experience better and I love that personal touch. They've put a huge emphasis on building community among the members so that the studio isn't just a place to exercise but a place to form friendships. The coaches at Pasadena make the effort to get to know the members personally and are super friendly and motivating. They push you but are also sensitive to injuries or limitations and are able to provide modifications, if needed. Since I…read morewas doing the trial and this was my first class, it only used 7 credits instead of the usual 14, which was a nice surprise! The 50-minute workout is split between treadmill cardio and weights. On the treadmill, you're given three different speeds for walking, jogging, or running, along with an incline. Needless to say, you'll be sweating pretty much the entire time. I really liked the atmosphere. The dim lighting and music definitely help keep you motivated, and when it's time for the sprints, the lights dim even more to really get you into it. The weights are also based on what you're comfortable with, so you can adjust the workout to your own level. The instructor explains all the movements, and there are also screens above the mirrors showing you what to do, which is helpful. The facilities are really nice and have everything you'd want... towels, a bottle-filling station, and even a little café with smoothies. The smoothies are also cheaper than Erewhon, which is conveniently located across the street, so that's a win in my book. And one of my favorite details: there's free parking in the back! Anyone who has driven around LA for parking knows this deserves a mention. Overall, I really enjoyed the class. It was challenging, fun, and definitely left me feeling like I got a good workout in.

Our session was good, but I needed time to deliberate before moving forward - it was a bit commitment and I needed some time to reflect. The trainer got incredibly heated, first going on about how great his services were compared to everyone else and then shaming me for not committing on the spot and wasting his time. I let the trainer know that I am unemployed and rely on my parents for financial support, so I needed to deliberate with them before proceeding further. I felt belittled for communicating my needs, and received harsh criticism from the trainer about being "a waste of time." It should be noted that on the website, the first session is advertised as a "no obligation free workout." But the session took place in a paid gym. He paid for the day pass, which I was very grateful for, but upon completion, I refunded the money back. Still, I continued to receive verbal abuse from the trainer post session (see screenshot below) Final thoughts: don't offer no-commitment complimentary sessions on your website if you're gonna accuse people of wasting your time and shame clients. UPDATE: I've continued to be harassed by the trainer. Completely unprofessional.
