Basecamp is seriously one of my favorite places to work out. The energy is always amazing and I love how it gives me a break from the mental load of the day. It's a fun and challenging workout that always leaves me feeling better (physically and mentally)! All the instructors are great, but I have to give a shoutout to Matt he's super helpful and always checks to make sure my form is on point. If you're dealing with an injury or need modifications, they'll work with you and adjust things so you can still get a solid workout. Also, the front desk crew is the amazing as well especially Natalie, Chris and Rebecca. They really make the space feel like a little community. I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a place that's motivating, supportive and actually fun.

Basecamp Fitness offers an exceptional workout experience, particularly with their signature high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions. Each workout is designed to push your limits, combining cardio, strength, and core exercises in a dynamic, 35-minute format. The well-structured classes, led by motivating and knowledgeable instructors, ensure you get the most out of every session. The use of heart rate monitors adds a personalized touch, helping you track progress and stay motivated. If you're looking for a challenging and efficient workout that delivers results, Basecamp Fitness is the place to be. Brandon was a great trainer with high energy! 100/100 highly recommend!

Back in mid-July 2023, I attended a Yelp event held at Basecamp Fitness in Pasadena. After the event, Basecamp offered free classes for the rest of July to all the 626 Yelpies who attended... sweet! So I took advantage of the offer and attended both Saturdays and Sundays through the end of July. I am grateful I got a chance to try out their classes primarily for core/cardio, full body, upper body, and lower body that runs about 45 mins in the form of 1 min intervals routine on the floor and rotating back to the bike for X number of rounds. At the end, there is a 10 mins core wind down period before class is concluded. Believe me... you're not going to get bored and the class goes by really fast. This is my first time experiencing such a workout regimen. It's making me sweat a lot and I love it LOL. Kid you not, I think I lost 2 lbs after my first class LOL. Playhouse Plaza has parking which is next to Basecamp (they validate 75 mins parking... nice!). After a great workout, you may walk around town and check out the great shopping and dining options on Colorado Blvd that happens to be conveniently located about one block north of Basecamp. How cool is that! Entire staff is friendly, pleasant, and wonderful. Training instructors are fantastic all around... they provide great inspiration and motivation to their members. It did not take me long to get into the program. I ended up joining as a member, but since I live a distance, I can only attend mostly weekend classes. Hence, I opted for the 4 times per month to month package. They had a special for the 626 Yelpies so I jumped on it! I look forward to a healthier and better fit me in the months and years to come. Thank you so much Basecamp for your awe-inspiring crew and fun & fulfilling workout classes! P.S. If you haven't tried Basecamp, don't think about it, just give them a try to see if it's for you. They do offer a free trial class... just ask!

Thanks to a Yelp special, I was able to try out their classes. After going to a few Basecamp classes, I decided to join. Their workouts are great. It's a HIIT style with you rotating between the assault bike and exercises for 1 min intervals for 30 rounds. The staff and instructors are great! It's a nice add in to my routine. Parking is also really easy. I highly recommend!

If you're looking for a fitness family or community, Basecamp Fitness is the one for you! I recently returned to Basecamp Fitness (my second time) after moving back to LA. The last time I was at this location was over 3 years ago! The workers here were SUPER friendly and nice. They walked me through the machines, how the fitness cycles ran, the overall process, and where everything was, and they assured me that they were open if I had any questions. The class itself was really fun! I love how they do 30 segments that juggles between cardio and strength training. It keeps it exciting and ensures you're not bored or overly exhausted by one exercise. I'm just OK sore after my workout, but not super sore. I wish I would've gotten a slightly more intense workout, but I appreciate moving around nonetheless. They have a bathroom with showers, cubbies to store your things, and parking in the parking garage is VALIDATED for 90 minutes (that's so awesome). There's also plenty of street parking (some are metered, but most of them have time restrictions). The actual workout might not be for everyone, but the kindness of the staff and people who come here will definitely make you want to come back!

Im so happy I join basecamp. When I did my first 2week session it was hard because of the drive and work schedule. This time I am able to make time for myself. Joining the basecamp is not just about being physically fit, having a good body, and sweating out all the fats but it also helps me mentally and emotionally. This place has helped me to relieve the stress in my life. If you want to change your daily routine, join basecamp. You can take out your anger through riding the bikes, sweat out all the stress, and listen to your coach that says "YOU CAN DO IT!! REFUSE TO GIVE UP!" Niko thank you for welcoming me, for being friendly, and lastly thank you for the good promo deal. THANK YOU TO ALLLLLLLLLLLL THE INSTRUCTORS/COACHES!! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING, VERY NICE AND CARING!

Located across Pasadena Playhouse, Basecamp Fitness is one of the many boutique gyms around town that offer a roughly 50-minute workout. In a nutshell, the usual setup includes floor exercises with an assortment of equipment such as free weights, TRX, medicine balls, Bosu balls, agility ladders, and plyo boxes, depending on the day. These exercises are staggered with sprints on your assigned stationary bike, allowing you to either maintain your heart rate or take a quick breather. TV screens up above provide instruction on your current station and next station as well as what are essentially GIFs of the exercises for you to emulate. At the end of the regular class, some instructors lead you through additional movements such as burpees, wall sits, planks, and other core strengthening exercises, while others lead you through a cooldown stretch. All while the playlist of the day is blasting away. I decided to join after attending their Yelp's Fit Club event back in mid-July. As part of the cohort, the rest of the month was free of charge which didn't hurt. Their price model has memberships from 1-class/week to unlimited. Since I was preparing for a Spartan Beast, I justified going unlimited to the tune of $180/month. From August to mid-October, I would mix between the 7am class and afternoon class at 5:15pm, sometimes both on the same day. To some that may seem like much, but I noticed other familiar faces that doubled, if not tripled, their daily attendance. Parking is plentiful in the mornings with validation inside the structure and ample street parking. It's another story in the afternoons in the hustle and bustle of Pasadena. Not sure if they penalize for being late, but no-shows and late cancels (less than 8 hours before class starts) incur a $10 charge. On the subject of my fellow classmates, the very nature of the class setting shuffling between stations and watching the interval clock tick down made it feel difficult to get to know them. Gradually I had a few chances to talk to some folks post-workout, and over time we would support one another with fist bumps and a knowing nod. The instructors are all dynamic and supportive in their own way, and after a while I got used to their energies and go-to phrases. But what sets this establishment apart from the rest of the competition, you ask? Occasionally there were biking fundraisers, educational seminars from local businesses, and a Summer Sizzle challenge. For purely breaking a sweat and getting a pump, that might be all you need. I felt they could have added more creativity throughout each week to make the workout more fun. Based on attendance, there are T-shirts given out for each milestone, such as attending 100 classes. I saw someone wearing a 1000 class shirt, which impressed me to no end. Well, I made the push for that 100th class...and somehow they forgot. This doesn't happen too often, since the celebrations for milestone T-shirts happen fairly often, usually with fanfare from instructors and obligatory clapping from everyone else. In my experience, I had to ask the front desk. Turned out I had already taken 102 classes! If that's not extra credit, I don't know what is. After my Spartan Beast, I decided to cancel since I was going to be out of town for at least a month. Don't be like me and not know that you need to give an advanced notice of 5 days before your next pay cycle. Their system doesn't allow for quick changes to your membership, for some reason. All in all, a good experience. Just remember to stay informed.

Gorgeous, clean, amazing inside facility (:

I had SUCHH an amazing experience at Basecamp in Pasadena! First of all, you feel soo incredibly welcomed and loved from the moment you walk through the door until stepping foot out. I signed up for a morning Tuesday Lower body session with Nick and he was AMAZING! I was also helped at the front by Annora and Kiara, who were both the sweetest, kindest people ever. They helped me get set up with my app/showed me where to sign up for future classes and oriented me to the process of each class. I was definitely excited but nervous since I had never been to a Basecamp class before, but felt so comfortable after their help. Each class is approximately 40-45 minutes long and every day is a different body part so coming every day of the week is always different! I love the variety of different exercises which keeps things interesting, challenges so many different body parts and makes the workout (as difficult as it is!) go by sooo fast! I loved the vibes, music and supportive workout environment. They offer parking validation so park in the garage below and they will take care of you. The facility has a bathroom with shower + soap, you name it! Anything you need, they take care of you so well here! I will DEFINITELY be coming back!

I've been with Basecamp Fitness for about 6 months and I love it! My journey w/ Basecamp started on Black Friday and they had a deal 30 classes for $30, such a great deal! The workout consist of one minute intervals: one minute cardio on the attack bike, one minute strength and then we end with 10 mins of core. 45 minute workout class and I feel great at the end! Class times Monday - Friday: 6, 7, 9, 12, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15 Saturday: 8-11am Sunday: 9 and 10am Coaches amazing and they hype you up, staff friendly, funny, and awesome, music on point with today hits and old school songs. There are lockers and 2 showers in the woman's restroom as they also have deodorant, q-tips, and towels.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to attend Basecamp Fitness classes in the Pasadena location. From Day 1 Kiara and Niko were my champions and helped me get acclimated into the classes I always felt supported by them! I have a good amount of fitness training of all types under my belt but this was a great breath of fresh air from what I am used to. The minute rounds consist of light or body weight strength exercises rotating with a minute of the attack bike. It's a quick but powerful classes left me tired but energized for the rest of the day and I couldn't wait to come back the next day. I hope the complimentary parking vouchers continue to stay available members because staying to socialize and going over time can add up. Basecamp was welcoming to everyone no matter the experience level or anything else and I truly appreciated that culture. This is an awesome club!

My 100th class celebration!

I spent about a decade telling myself "this year is the year I become more active and exercise". Basecamp is quite literally the only exercise option that has worked for me. I've tried personal training, all the different stand alone gyms, but Basecamp is it for me. My favorite coaches are Stephanie, Brandon, and Matt! I have some physical limitations and each of them are so kind and take extra care to ensure I modify the exercises that may cause me issues. I really don't think I'd exercise if it wasn't for Basecamp, which has totally changed my life. the front desk staff are also the absolute best!

Since F45 is a franchise, it's pretty fun to think that people across the world are doing the exact same workout as we are here in Pasadena. When traveling to different states, or even other countries, I've been able to visit studios there and I love the familiarity of it. There's no awkwardness or intimidation factor since it feels like home. The Pasadena studio is family-owned and the owners, Gabe & Michelle, take feedback and concerns seriously. They're always looking for ways to make the experience better and I love that personal touch. They've put a huge emphasis on building community among the members so that the studio isn't just a place to exercise but a place to form friendships. The coaches at Pasadena make the effort to get to know the members personally and are super friendly and motivating. They push you but are also sensitive to injuries or limitations and are able to provide modifications, if needed. When I don't feeling like getting out of bed and over to class, I know I can count on them to be there energized & ready to go. Thank you, F45 Pasadena!

After attending Stride, I'll probably switch over to this studio instead. First off, I really like that Stride is inclusive to all fitness levels and give options for both walkers and runners. It has a range of different treadmill levels for Levels 1-4. This allows me to self-regulate and go easier or faster depending on how I'm feeling that day. This allows me to sufficiently warm up and I feel like I'm getting the most out of my workout. You only switch once during the combo so I definitely can take my time and do quality reps. Seriously there is nothing more annoying that switching between workouts super quickly and I don't even have time to catch my breath so please keep this format!

Game changer and much better use of space. I've been liking this new format because it added room for the strength and weight-training portion of the class. The benches are really nice and each bench has your own set of weights ranging from 7.5 to 25 pounds. Not having to get the weights you think you'll need for class is really helpful. For me, I still average around 2-3 miles per Combo class and that's perfect for me. This new format helps me hit more muscle groups than before! I also like the screens showing the strength moves on the strength side so it's easier to remember. Instructors and staff are all still amazing and welcoming. Definitely a class worth checking out!

In fact, there's one right across the street from this location I would recommend (I'll leave it up to you to Google it). If you're looking for the best classic style Crossfit gym, then definitely don't go here. This place is only but a shadow of its former self. Since the current owners unaffiliated the gym from the brand, the programming and membership has taken a sharp decline. They incorporated classes that resembled more of a base camp or something Hyrox adjacent. No one really cared about the brand of CrossFit, we cared for the workouts, and sadly those are long gone. Feedback that was given to the owners went ignored for too long and eventually it became too late. There's been a mass exodus of loyal and competitive members since then and the atmosphere just doesn't feel the same anymore. The demographic currently trends to an older age group and less competitive/advanced. Those aren't necessarily bad things but it might certainly might alter your preference.
