It's inviting, encouraging, and actually fun. A late-in-life athlete, the coaches are amazing at helping with scaling and answering all of my questions about the different movements and modifying appropriately so I still reach the goal of the workouts I've also used their add on services, including the Olympic weight lifting course and their 1:1 goal coaching. It's a huge value add to my health and workout routines . Lastly, I want to shout out how thoughtful and helpful the coaches have been during my postpartum journey. I wasn't able to workout during my pregnancy and paused my account. Lily and Paul were super encouraging and worked with me when I decided I was ready to come back to the gym, both for moving my body and also for my mental health. I was really nervous about returning, but have felt so supported and welcomed since coming back. I've taken classes with Devon, Erick, Wes, and Pheby and each coach understood my needs and helped make the classes successful for me. Everyone at this gym has been so incredible and I'm so grateful for this community.

I find myself repeatedly coming back even when I want to stay in bed. I love getting stronger and feeling a sense of community with every class, even if there are new faces. There's something grounded, calm, and energized about this gym. I don't feel judged and I know they all want me to succeed. If you decide to go With nutrition-you get a 16 week course for under $1000. Personalized coaching calls, epic meal planning, and a foundation that really sticks. I wish everyone could experience Erwin's heart for health. He is humble, strong, and his upstanding character is apparent in every client he coaches. I have grown in confidence and shrunk in waist size! I was surprised that a gym a little more stripped back and perhaps less "fancy" could make me feel like a million bucks. Please come check this gym out! Unpretentious and you won't regret it

They offer good classes. However, don't expect much compassion…read more I used to go to the ODD in Silver Lake and have been going to the ODD in Eagle Rock semi regularly since I moved out here. I used ClassPass. We recently had a baby and it's been hard to get fit postpartum. I booked a pilates class, but unfortunately was rushing around just before (you know how it is when you have a window of opportunity to get things done with a very young baby!) Blame clumsiness, blame sleep deprivation- I fell down our stairs. Had to go to urgent care and got put in a boot and on crutches. Unfortunately it was within the no cancellation window for the class. So I concocted a plan - I'd send my mom, who was in town helping me with our baby, to take my class. She'd get a treat and a thank you for all she'd been doing for us, and they wouldn't have a gap in their class. They say the reason you can't cancel is it hurts their business to have a gap last minute, and that's fair, but if you send someone to take the class you paid for, I figured that would take care of them too. I was thinking if she liked it I'd get her a membership for the months she is here helping. Win win. NOT how it worked out. My mom came home very upset - the lady at the desk was mean to her even after she told our story and called me on the phone. The desk lady acted like we were trying to scam her. Ultimately they wouldn't let my mom take my class, so she paid full price for her own. They told her I'd cancel my ClassPass so I wouldn't get charged - well, I just got charged so that was a lie. The whole experience left a bad flavor in both our mouths. I know they didn't have to help, but they could have been nice. They talk a big game about compassion and good energy in classes, so I guess I was hoping for some of the same in a tough situation. Honestly, even after enjoying years of their classes, I don't think I'll go again. It's hard to relax and be in the right mindset in a place where they were mean to your mom because they could. So, yeah. They'll talk a lot about compassion in class, but they will stick it to you even if they're not getting hurt, if they have a way to. It's too bad bc I did enjoy their classes and they have good instructors. But in the end it's all just business. Update: in response to the owner's response below, I do not believe it, because other studios on ClassPass HAVE canceled without charging inside the cancellation window (most recently when my child was born unexpectedly three weeks early), and I sent my sister to take a different class after I got into a bicycle accident a few years ago and that studio didn't cause any trouble. So in addition to how they treated my mom, they're just not telling the truth here and I removed another star because of that. There's a way to do it and they chose not to. I understand not being casually flexible, but on rare occasions there are actual unpredictable emergencies, and in those cases, studios can claim "policy" to refuse or they can show compassion. This is the type of studio that claims to be a place of community but when you actually need community, they go corporate. It's fine if you know that's how they are; it's a nasty shock if you actually thought it was a community.
