I love Ralph's class. Ralph is such a hardcore trainer/coach. He always pushes me to hit my maximum heart rate needed to improve and develop my fitness game. I wouldn't reach the level of where I'm at now without his motivation and training. He literally pushes me until I can't even. The class encompasses kickboxing, running, and strength training. It truly is an all body work out with a mixture of aerobic and anaerobic exercise. If you're trying to lose weight or just up your fitness level, I totally recommend Ralph's class or him as a personal trainer. He will help you reach all of your fitness goals. I just finished my first HIIT class, and it was amazing! Laura, who was shadowing today, was super hands-on and supportive. The class had three parts - boxing/kickboxing, treadmill, and floor exercises. It was challenging, but Laura's encouragement kept me going. Coach Christian was also pushing us to give our best. I felt a bit intimidated at first, but the friendly atmosphere made it enjoyable. HIIT-It is definitely worth it, just be ready to feel the burn! 5/5 stars! Come to this gym only if you want results! I have been working out consistently for a few years now and have never been able to get rid of the pesky weight I have gained in my 30s. With so many group exercise classes to choose from in the area, this gym stands out for a number of reasons: 1. It's not boring - you move through three stations: treadmill, punching bag and floor work with weights. 2. Staff are all so friendly and helpful. If you haven't worked out in a while or never boxed, hate running they'll help you feel comfortable and improve your skills. 3. It def feels like family - you see familiar faces and get to know new people you end up seeing everyday. 4. Been coming here for a few months now and, wow, what an improvement I've made in both my running and boxing! I enjoy the concept of the class which splits the hour to running on the treadmill, boxing and a HIIT type of workout. Every class is different and has a different focus- strength vs endurance vs speed. I always come out of the class drenched and sometimes sore for a couple days. I love Hiit- it Pasadena small group training!! It's always a great workout with lots of variety. Always a friendly atmosphere with the right balance of challenge, support and community so you can meet your fitness goals. There are plenty of weights and equipment along with plenty of room. There's also a large outdoor patio space that is used for part of the workout. I really appreciate the opportunity to be outdoors and the variety it provides. I have been to many group classes consistently for 20 years including CrossFit, spin, hiit, lagree etc and I've never felt so awkward before. This was probably one of my worst experiences. When I arrived the trainer didn't introduce himself or ask about any injuries. He did give me a complimentary small bottle of water and boxing gloves which was nice. I said I had never boxed and didn't know proper form but he said to "just hit the bag" sorry but I've had enough injuries through my life to take form seriously, I'm not going all out on something unless I'm sure I'm doing it correctly. I felt so awkward that he didn't help me or teach any technique, or give any modifications. Maybe instead of spending 18 (!) minutes on static stretching in the beginning he could switch that to 5-10 min of dynamic stretching and leave some time for instructing proper form. read more

Coach Ralph and the other trainers provide the perfect blend of motivation, expertise and fun in their workouts. The sets are modifiable for all ability levels and age groups, and I always leave feeling good about the work I put in. I've been to other HIIT gyms in Pasadena, this is my favorite. Two main reasons. First, the format of boxing/treadmill/weights is fun, challenging, and effective. Each workout is a whole-body reset. I attend four classes a week, feel better those days and sleep better those nights. Second, the gym's staff is top-shelf and cares about its members. Ralph is an attentive coach, he observes how participants perform from class to class and knows how to motivate each member and push us farther than we would push ourselves. That's the value of going here, you will work harder than you think you could. When I started in 2020, my mile time was over eight minutes. These days, my mile time is under six minutes and I'm running distances further than I've ever run before. I'll turn 40 next year. I'm thankful for this program and the community at HIIT IT and recommend this gym to anyone looking to feel better and to make gains in their physical fitness. read more

Ralph and Roman and the other trainers have consistently similar but changing workouts that hit the whole body, while at times give extra work for different body parts. I have been to many, many group fitness classes in many major cities that I've lived in. From spin, to barre, to CKO kickboxing, to hiit and beyond. I'm fairly sure that HIIT IT Pasadena is my favorite. And I'm very sure I'm in the best shape of my life... in my 40s no less. The classes have allowed me to gain real aerobic endurance and muscle endurance. I have very bad ankles due to a tarsal coalition in both ankles, so my mobility is pretty challenged. With consistent training via HIIT-IT classes + some PT, I've been working towards sprinting soon and I've seen so much progress with my mobility. As a middle distance lover who is very adverse to sprinting , this is MAJOR progress. I tend to be a heads-down kinda workout person in general but the energy at this gym is super welcoming and friendly and is the absolute opposite of pretentious... because nobody likes fitness snobs. The classes are also diverse, so you can learn from others and even see their progress overtime, which is a testament to the fact that the workouts work. I signed up for a free class the summer of 2022 and have never left - it's been almost 18 months! After the first session, I immediately enrolled as a member. The fat-burning routines on the treadmill with kickboxing and weights has been a winning combination for me; I've lost more than 15 lbs. Hiit It Pasadena is a great please if you want to get sweat and burn calories. The class is divided by 3 sections with 2/3 of class are cardio ( treadmill & punching bag) and 1/3 of weight training (free weight lifting). Coach Ralph gives good motivation and very good music. I have been a member for several months. While I consider myself an active "senior", I hesitated at first since it had been some time since I had done structured exercise. I researched several alternatives and have had some 1:1 training and came across HIIT-it and settled in here, happily. Every aspect of the gym is positive: there is a diverse set of trainers with years of experience, transparent and considerate management that listen to any concerns and resolve issues discretely and professionally, and as importantly, a community of like-minded and genuinely nice members. I look forward to coming to any class; there is no need for me to schedule per the assigned instructor - - I schedule according to "my" schedule - - and I am always satisfied. Awesome HIIT workout. The workout is designed to work out all parts of your body, and you feel it the next day. Due to the nature of the workout - weights, treads, and kickboxing - you really get a full body workout, and you will notice a difference. Special props to Ralph, Roman, Julian and the staff for really adhering to cleanliness during Covid. Class sizes are very limited, and after each rotation, a staff member comes down and officially wipes down ALL the equipment with hospital grade sanitizer/cleaning solution. They dont jut rely upon the members to clean (and lets be honest, ive been to other gyms where people barely wipe down), so its reassuring and soothes my germaphobia, when i see them wiping everything down. Music is jamming here!!!! And for me, music is key! Especially when youre tired and not motivated to work out. Coach Ralph is energetic, is always positive, and just makes you believe in yourself. He will also give you verbal corrections on your form so that you dont injure yourself. (Not to worry, its verbal corrections...no physical corrections/contact during covid). Coach Julian is fantastic with kickboxing and really focuses on form (also verbal, no physical corrections). If youre looking for a fun and effective workout, check out HIIT-IT pasadena. read more

I have been working out here for several months. I wanted to lose some weight and get back in shape after a shoulder surgery. The workouts are demanding but do the job. I am in my late 40's and now in great shape once again. My weight is what it was 11 years ago. If you are willing to work at your goals you can reach them here. I agree 100% with Christine's assessment. The workout was great, the place is clean, but the trainer needed some coaching. I also have worked out at a lot of gyms in SoCal. The trainer's interactions with the clientele felt novice. It was rather cold. He did not care to know people's names, did not correct form, or even ask about injuries or goals. No one could finish the entirety of the workout, it needed to be dialed back at the end. He was not engaged and did not offer modifications or encouragement instead told those struggling to "hurry up, everyone's waiting!" It was kinda shamey for those brave enough to try something new or who aren't 23 anymore. Someone could get hurt which is always a #1 concern. A lot of people are trying to get back from massive COVID blows to fitness, just had a baby, have been recovering from injury, etc. Not everyone is the same and a little compassion goes far. The workouts are hard, which is great! I loved the workout! Again, I agree with Christine C.'s assessment. This place could be a gem, it needs some tweaks and would be stellllar! read more

The great: Location, Parking, Boutique atmosphere, very small class size (maybe no more than 10), private, great selection of different types of equipment, air-conditioning, the option to workout outside if the day/eve is nice. They had someone ONLY sanitizing the equipment as we used it. This is excellent and sure makes you feel like you are on CLEAN equipment! Nothing is more important these days. The good: They offer filtered water that is ice cold, bring your own bottle. NO TOWELS offered here, bring your own. They vary the exercises in the hour-long class so you will never get bored. Masks are mandatory at this time, no matter your vaccination status. I like the option of showing proof of vaccination and leaving the mask off. Not an option here. The bad: The lighting here is SUPER bright and NOT daylight balanced. Is it fluorescent? Sure feels like it and it makes you tired. LOVE the other gyms around that offer the daylight balanced bulbs and DIM them or put in LED strip lighting around key spots in the gym. There is just TOO much BRIGHT light inside this gym for my liking. Music while working out is KEY and this sound system needs a bit more of a professional touch. Like additional bass and perhaps the instructor wearing a headset. The ugly: The instructor was a total novice and the class is not safe UNLESS you have been working out for years. He did start the class on time and he ended it on time. However, he never ever made any form corrections. We all need the correct form or injury will happen. As you get tired, or if you are new to working out, you need form correction. NOT happening here. Also, he gives a series of exercises to do, demonstrates them ONCE, and then walks away. My short-term memory is good, but not that good. It would have been nice if he stayed around and stayed engaged. I promise you that he stepped into the office out of sight from the class to check his phone. He then had his back to the class and was cleaning the treadmills. We were the last class of the day, but I think you should finish strong. He was definitely wanting to get home, FAST. Ugh. Coaches can truly make or break a class even when everything else is not so great. This coach is great if you already know how to work out and are self-motivated. I am a ClassPass regular and have visited almost every gym in Pasadena. This 'could' easily be one of PASADENA's premiere gyms! No joke! But just like a bad boyfriend that just needs to tweak a little of this and a little of that....until he does or HIIT does, he is a bad boyfriend! I will return again and see what it might be like to take from another instructor. It is my hope that the lighting, sound system, and instructors will change. I've been going to HIIT-IT Pasadena for almost 2 years now and keep going back for the fun community and workouts that hit every muscle group (while being yelled at to push myself)... The classes are high-energy and great for ALL ages and fitness levels. Everyone is different and this class is flexible to allow for modifications to the workouts. Came in today for the free class...I was expecting the hard sell after the class from the trainer but he was super chill, or maybe he could tell I had fun and was ready to sign up...either way, It was an awesome workout!
