Parking was ample as there is a side parking lot which it was full. Once inside the line wrapped around and there were many options. Ended up with a game and cheese kolache and coffee. They heated up the kolache before serving. As this was done before leaving the ordering area, it made sense why the line took a few to move. Service was friendly and great recommendations. I'd like to go back to try other kolchaes and they have a couple food trucks in the outside area if you wanted something more substantial.

Probably will not get that one again. The place is large and spacious (indoors and outdoors) and could be really great for groups. It has a large patio in the back that's used for Live music. They also have food trucks, one of which, is Paris BBQ. Therefore, you could listen to Live music have dinner or just have a adult beverage. They also feature comedy shows which is pretty cool. Their monthly calendar is posted on the wall. In addition, it is important to note they are on the pricier side. Sam, my server was super friendly and joyful. He steered me the ideal selections. Definitely will return in evening...

I stopped at Dos Gatos for coffee and also picked up a few sweet treats for later (wink, wink!) Dos Gatos, which I believe means two cats, is a shop for "on the go" folks...no inside seating and small space. The shop focuses on fast service, and fresh baked goods, with kolaches baked daily. Dos Gatos has a variety of items such as sweet kolaches with traditional fillings like apricot, poppy seed, strawberry, raspberry, and cream cheese. They have savory kolaches such as sausage and cheese, jalapeño sausage, chorizo, ham and cheddar, and vegetarian sausage options. The turkey sausage kolache was the standout...sometimes called a pig in the blanket. One downside of the sweet kolaches is they are rather small. I forget how small they were until my hubby mentioned also. A surprise bonus was their full espresso bar, which includes lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, chai, cold brew, etc. Pricing was at the low end of the spectrum. I purchased coffee, sweet and savory kolaches.

Just in case your favorite is still baking or sold out before you got here. Got my heart's desire of a cherry kolache and a ham and swiss for breakfast. I checked out Ovenbird for breakfast while visiting Austin. It's a great South Austin spot to grab…read morea coffee, fresh baked goods, and a tasty meal from this scratch kitchen. I did all three. I started out with a Franzbrötchen, a German style cinnamon roll, and a cortado. Both were a great start while waiting for one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a while. The sandwich I chose comes with bacon, beer cheese, fluffy eggs, and Russian dressing on a beautifully toasted Bavarian croissant. I also had to try a side of their duck fat potatoes, fried golden brown with smoked duck fat, whipped confit garlic butter, and fresh thyme. This was an excellent meal with great service, and I would highly recommend checking them out if you're ever in the area.

The staff were all attentive and nice; the table decor was obviously DIY crafted but it was still cute and creative! The flavor was severely lacking in all of our entrees. The portions were also really small, like, almost Lunchables-sized. My friend ordered Kiki's cake and it was pretty dry. There was not a non-chocolate option, as someone who hates it, which was fine. I was going to give my friend the other dessert but they were able to sub it for a pastry from the counter. The drinks, however, were very well done. I would love to see those as regular staples on the menu. Even though the calcirita was incredibly smoky, like, "coal in your lungs"-type sensation, it was at least still on theme. I would suggest doing cocktail that can be temporarily lit on fire or it comes in a glass dome with a "smoke-like" effect instead if repeating the theme. I will consider coming back one more time for their regular menu but I don't know that it was worth driving down again soon.

A warning: If you eat Weinerschnitzel in Vienna, you will be ruined for life on most of the…read moreversions you find elsewhere. But I was stupid, and hungry, and ordered what looked like the specialty of the house at Eve's Café. In fact, it looked like what they called a Wienerschnitzel was the basis for all sorts of schnitzel variations with different toppings and gravy. That should've been an extra warning for me. To be fair, the description on the menu said that what you would get was a pork chop, and that is what I got. It was a little bit tough, which I suspected in advance, watching the people at the next table, sewing on theirs. The breading was weird in a way that's hard to describe. It was somewhat over-seasoned, a little bit hard, and left an aftertaste that was slightly chemical. An even worse sin by Texas standards, it was small, as in the recommended meat portion size for healthy eating, about the size of my hand, minus the fingers. My side of onion rings had the same breading. And even though I am generally a gravy hog, I didn't especially care for the brown gravy that came with my meal. The German dill salad probably had some dill in it somewhere, but it was all drowned in so much mayonnaise-based dressing, I couldn't really taste it, and the whole thing turned into soup before I finished. This all really sounds terrible, but it wasn't actually terrible. I ate all of it except for the soupy salad, but it just never rose beyond competent, when I had gotten my hopes up for some good German food. As I looked around at what others were eating, I really wished I had ordered one of the fabulous-looking sandwiches, burgers, or bratwurst. Those are harder to mess up. The restaurant itself has a nice location on the Square in Lampasas, and a charming vibe. The Thursday lunch crowd was good sized so it looks like a popular local place. The service was very friendly and pretty quick--maybe little TOO quick, as if my schnitzel might've been waiting for me under a heat lamp. Once I'd finished, I was still a little hungry, and considered ordering a slice of their Black Forest Cake. But I have had Black Forest Cake in Bavaria, and I simply couldn't bear another disappointment.

So this place was recommended, so I had to go. The restaurant is a small establishment, with…read morewonderful vibes. The inside was old fashioned, kind of a western twist. Any ways the waiters was friendly and welcoming. She took our oder quickly and brought us libations. The food looked good and tasted outstanding! The meat was soft and the brown gravy was on point. Furthermore the restrooms are super clean and roomy. Looks like there is only one cook, it might take a minute for your order but worth waiting for. Stay hungry my friends!
