My husband finally decided to try Elgin Donuts to support a local business, and brought home $20+ of donuts. He didn't get there until 10:30am so it's understandable that the variety was low, but he said there wasn't much that resembled the online photos. First, the texture of the donuts is strange (OK), but then we were hit with the smell and taste of rancid oil. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​We took a single bite of each kind ​​he brought home and they were ALL rancid. Kim & jack were excellent in helping me out. They have kilaches and tacos and donuts and cappuccino as well. They are a one stop morning & afternoon shop. I would recommend this place since it has tables to sit at inside to anyone manor or Elgin. read more

Scam Alert! BEWARE: I went to pay for my items and it didn't add up correctly. I asked about it when looking at the receipt and there was an extra charge for "differential pay." I asked her to explain what that charge was for and she said it was early in the morning. She re-wrung without the charge. I was paying with cash so it shouldn't have been the credit card fees most restaurants add now. I think they were trying to charge me more for using cash. Or it was just a scam. Check your receipts! This place has a pretty nice, solid selection of sweets and savory items. We personally love the cheese and jalapeño kolaches, but the croissant breakfast sandwiches are close behind. They have donuts, sweet breads, pastries and cakes. They're quick, and well priced. Definitely worth a stop in. read more

This little gem in Elgin is just a bit too far for me to frequent. Sad, unfortunately, but now I know where to go whenever I'm passing through or in the area. They have a variety of donuts as well as kolaches. I swung by twice here the week I had training in Camp Swift in Bastrop. The staff were friendly and they had lots of customers in line. I'm probably correct in assuming some of them were regulars. Producing delicious foods will do that for small businesses. Keep up the great work, Elgin Donuts! Quick and friendly service. Elgin Donuts have a variety of different type of donuts, Kolaches, sandwiches, & bake goods. I was very surprise to see a jalapeño boudin and regular boudin Kolache on their menu! First time trying it and absolutely love both! The jalapeño boudin does have a kick and it progressively get spicy with every bite! For all those no spicy eaters, eat with caution lol! For a non-spicy eater like me, I actually enjoyed the jalapeño boudin Kolache more than the regular. It's something about that extra kick of spicy that make me want another bite even though I'm burning inside! The jalapeño cheese sausage Kolache is amazzzzzing! The sausage was oozing with cheese inside the sausage and the Kolache bread was similar to a croissant pastry. Perfect amount of crunch and softness texture! It's so dang good! The jalapeño cheese sausage Kolache is definitely the best I've ever had! It is One of a kind and the size is generous for the price! Stopped by Super Donuts for breakfast on the way to Houston a couple weekends ago. Their many different donuts looked great in the display, so I decided to get some. (They have a bunch of other items too, like tacos and croissants.) I bought two strawberry donuts without sprinkles. I bit into the first one and it nearly melted in my mouth! At the same time, it had a crispy, light, and thin exterior. Some of the best donuts I've ever had! You're lucky if you happen to come across Super Donuts. Good donuts and sausage rolls at decent prices. Always open early and have a decent selection until they close unlike many donut places who run out by 7-8 AM and only have the dregs left after that. Any of their breakfast sandwiches with eggs are ok, but not great. I am a particular fan of the jumbo sausage, cheese, & jalapeno rolls as well as the apple fritters. read more

Great donut place in a small town! Their chocolate eclairs are my favorite, because the custard inside is so light and isn't overpowering. The kolaches are good, but I wish they had a lighter bread around them, like the bread at buccees. Still, can't complain too much because everything I've had is delicious! read more
