Man, this review is so hard to write! When we first met Kane in 2015 he immediately won our business! We had high hopes for him and Pegasus pools to help us achieve our dream pool. Our credit union wouldn't finance a pool built by Pegasus, so we worked and saved the money to build the pool outright over the next two years. We signed our contract with Pegasus Inn July 2017. They broke ground on our pool in October 2017. When their excavators crashed a bobcat into our wall, I never imagined it would foreshadow all that was to come in the next year...
Everything was ahead of schedule and going wonderful with excellent communication from Kane until... It was clear there were several big problems with the project and workmanship. After a lengthy battle, they agreed to fix SOME of the issues they created with the poor design and shotty workmanship. The pool was drained and left jack hammered out to the shell from November 27th of 2017 until February 7, 2018. Not the dream backyard we hoped for the holidays. With a ton of phone calls, pleading, and compromise on our part, they finished and filled the pool again. Unfortunately, the interior was not done correctly. We were told to give it some time since it was "curing", but the issues only got worse. We have been placated since March of 2018 and after being stood up for an appointment again today. It's finally time to write the review.
Because of some anger management issues, verbal abuse from Kane, and general safety concerns, Kane is no longer welcome at our home. Credit where credit is due, even at his worst, Kane was still better at communicating than the owner. Honestly, I think he's probably a great person with great intentions, that found himself completely overstressed, over extended, and in over his head with pool construction knowledge. Mix that with some poor decisions and we reached a point of no return with him. We wish him well, but cannot in good conscience recommend him to anyone. I will admit he was right on one thing. When I discovered several of the issues and asked them to resolve them, he told us "if you pick a scab, you'll get a scar". This appears to be truest thing we heard from Kane. He even admitted they use the cheapest guys they can find to sub the work out and it's a gamble if it will be done right. Ok, maybe THAT is the truest thing. At any rate, that left us to deal with the owner, Chip...
So, here we are (15 MONTHS) after paying for our pool, STILL trying to get it finished and I cannot even get Chip, the owner, to come out and look at it. He has made a few half hearted efforts, but unfortunately the pool is still not done right.
The good news is if you are a new build customer you are 100% their top priority. BUT... if you have ANY issues, you are out of luck and permanently stuck at the bottom of the list.
I am hopeful that Chip will make it right and this yelp review will help us move up in his "priority" list. I hope I have the opportunity to revise this review and tell how they had some issues but in the end did the right thing. Mistakes happen, but it's the way a company makes them right that truly defines them.
If not, it's on to the ROC and I'll revise this review to show the full timeline, photos, emails from manufacturers, and all the gory details of this whole process. (For the record, these are legitimate well documented issues with solid proof their workmanship was below minimum industry standards.) The ROC would take the complaint very seriously. It is my absolute last resort since I realize that effects their livelihood and ability to support a family. Here's hoping Pegasus lives up to their promises and stands by their work
