We took many bids, and were impressed with this family owned multi-generation business. As some of the other reviews have stated, this process is not cheap but this company is very fair. You certainly get what you pay for in this case a beautiful remodeled pool. Our pool was a plastered pool over 30 years old and was in desperate need of a redo. The job starts with Mike Jr. coming out to measure and answer questions and returns an estimate the next day. After our decision was made the whirl wind began, I mean that in a good way. I enjoyed the entire process from jack hammering out the old plaster to watching new pipes being rerouted to picking out tile and pebble sheen and designing our new baja shelf. There are not a whole lot of options for an older pool as far as the cap tile is concerned unless you want to rip out all the old deck and use stone which can get pricey, we decided to go with a new cap tile and selected brown with a blue/grey/brown waterline tile. We were not sure how this would turn out but I am so glad we went with the choice. Our backyard is earthy and natural and this looks soo classy, we chose a lakeside blue for the pebble sheen and Mike Sr. put some extra bling in there for me and I LOVE it! We also added a baja shelf and a couple turtles to the bottom of the pool. Mike Sr is very communicative, patient and answers all questions via text right away and even put up with my indecisiveness about the depth the baja shelf and held an Adirondack chair in the air where it could possibly go to show me a visual. I appreciated that. We hope our review spares other consumers from an expensive disappointment. We checked the BBB, AZ ROC, and reviews. After 5 bids, we chose Creative Pool Plastering (CPP) to resurface our pool. From day one, CPP was careless and lacked respect for our property. They crunched our downspout and damaged the pool deck, without apologizing or repairing. After job completion, March 20, 2025, they started refilling the pool before they left. They left debris in the skimmer, tire tracks on the driveway, and had not removed the sticker on the new drain cover, now under water. We had to call Mike Sr again, to have them return to finish cleaning up the site. Our expensive disappointment with CPP is the color quality and appearance of the new Mini Pebble Finish. During refilling, we noticed a blotchy appearance to the color of the newly refinished surface. Over the next few weeks, areas lacking color became larger and more prominent. April 28 we contacted Mike Sr about this issue. I have a picture, taken on April 29, clearly showing the loss of color on a large area of our pool bottom. Mike Sr did not come to see our pool until May 14. He said he saw the issue right away. He asked to see the recent Today's Pool and Patio Water Analysis that we had been doing weekly, since startup. The test results were within the recommended range. Mike Sr took a picture of these printed test results, said he would talk to his material supplier, Randy, with Universal White Cement company, and he'd get back to us. After 115 days, on September 6, we still had heard nothing and contacted Mike Sr again. Randy finally came to see the pool on September 22. After another 30 days, on October 22, we still had not heard back from Mike Sr. We contacted an attorney who advised us to give Mike Sr one more opportunity to remedy the color loss of our pool finish. We notified Mike Sr that we had spoken with an attorney. He immediately responded. This was the first time during the prolonged period of Mike Sr's inaction and lack of communication, from May14 until October 22, that he immediately responded. Mike Sr's response was that Randy's report claimed the pool chemicals were out of range on September 22. As we previously stated in this review, the documented water analysis shown to Mike Sr on May 14 was within normal range. Within 39 days of CPP's completed work, we saw many areas of inconsistencies in the pool's finish as evidenced in our pictures,. Rather than standing behind CPP's work and materials used, Mike Sr said he would schedule a "Courtesy Inspection" with the ROC. The ROC investigator, Lisa, was scheduled on December 22 and we received her findings on February 3, 2026. Lisa's findings acknowledged there are many areas where the pool finish is lighter in color. At the inspection, we showed Lisa the April 29 photo of the defective color of the pool finish. Lisa's findings stated she couldn't make a determination based on photos she did not take. Lisa told us that our pool chemistry reports would not be of benefit in her determination. The inspection only addresses the quality of workmanship, not the quality and durability of the materials they use. The findings state the ROC standards hold the contractor responsible for an acceptable pool finish for only 30 days from completion. Mike Sr never contacted us after the ROC inspection. We are left with an expensive disappointment. We do not recommend Creative Pool Plastering. read more

We are very satisfied with the replastering and renovation service provided by Creative Pool Plastering. After contacting three companies, we found that Creative's bid was competitively priced. What impressed us the most was the responsive communication with Mike Jr. and Sr., who were highly attentive from the beginning. They answered all our questions promptly and with valuable knowledge. The entire team, from demolition to completion, was punctual, courteous, and diligent in cleaning up after their work. Our pool renovation turned out excellently! After gathering 4 bids, we elected to move forward with Creative Pool Plastering. They were prompt and detailed with the estimate - during the planning phase, it was very obvious that they are quite good at assessing the client and what that client's end vision looks like. There was no pressure, the walkthrough was methodical, and they addressed the little details that other companies 'forget' (and then are added on later). The price hit the sweet spot, not eye-watering high, nor suspiciously cheap. For this project, we opted to just replaster our existing pool. Wow did that go fast. This crew can sure work together well, and they don't waste a moment. The old pool surface was chipped out and hauled away in a day. The job site was left clean that day and every other day. The tile went up just as fast, and the pebble also went on super quick. These guys raise the bar for anyone else that's for sure! They make this look like it's easy when it's anything but. Once the project started, Mike Sr handled all the communication, typically via text. He's brief but thorough, just right. Also, if you have the option to go for an upgrade, go for it! We got the sparkly shells in the pebble, and the upgraded tile, and these are well worth it. One thing I will note is that I have never seen a crew show up this early or stay this late on a couple days. Our HOA has 'construction hours' that are different than the city ordinance. I failed to communicate that, and we had a day where everyone was tip-toeing for an hour. I really appreciated their consideration, but if I'd known how early the crew might get there, I would have been more on the ball about communicating that. Just know that these guys are prepared to put in a very long day! This project was an absolute pleasure! This is the 4th house we've remodeled, and this company is one of the best we've worked with. Was very pleased by the work that Mike Junior and Mike Senior did for us. The job started as a simple replastering job but then expanded as we realized that having a beautiful inside of the pool needed to be matched by a lovely deck as well. Mike Jr. handled the original estimate & asked lots of questions we hadn't considered. We knew we had an in ground spa that had been covered over 20+ years ago, and had been boarded over since before we bought the house. Long story short, we ended up with a massive project, replastering the pool with the micro-pebble finish, repairing & resurfacing the deck, restoring the in ground spa, and replacing all the above ground equipment- pump, filter, etc, and adding a heat pump to heat both the pool & spa. Pricing, from what I've been told is very fair, but not cheap. Better still, the timeliness and quality of the work have been outstanding. Mike Sr. oversaw the project. They began demolition the next day with a crew of 5 guys & jackhammers, hauling debris out in buckets. By the time they left that afternoon, the grounds were cleaned up completely. Miguel who did the deck was like an artist. He meticulously prepped the area, covering the pool tile & protecting the surrounding areas. He repaired cracks by grinding them & refilling with concrete so they won't just reappear in the same place in a year or so. Mike coordinated all the subcontractors- electricians who wired from the main circuit box to the pool for the heat pump, the equipment folks Today's Pools), who tore out the old equipment, installed the new system & got it up & running. Each group did their job on-time & left the place very clean when they were done. Mike Sr. did a great job of communicating- mainly by text. He even advised us on the color of the deck & the pebble finish. Both came out beautiful. We are delighted with the professionalism and the quality of the work. Mike Sr. and his crew recently remodeled our pool. We went from plaster to pebble - tec plus they installed an automatic pool leveler for us. Their price was very competitive and we are extremely satisfied with the final product. In the process of applying the pebble - tec they added crushed abalone shells that sparkle when the sun hits them. That addition adds a pizzazz to our pool that I've not seen in other pebble - tec pools. We only encountered one small problem in the process and Mike Sr. and I resolved the issue in a gentlemanly way very quickly. Also our old pool only had the old 4 steps and they were converted to a beautiful baja step that is not only easier for me to use but also our 2 yellow labs have found it much easier to get in and out of the pool.
