Not even a week after Mercury claims the job is done and it's starting to crack!

This company is poorly run and barely organized. They made so many mistakes it is astonishing. We researched how this replastering with mini-tek is to be handled. Mercury pool did the absolute bare minimum and many times fell absolutely short of a poor job. The "employees" brought to work on my pool had zero clue what to do- they were being trained hat to do at my job site. Inferior materials were used- discussions and color choices were about "pebbletek or mini tek". I asked for warranty information but Grace never provided anything. I have no clue what they used. They screwed up so badly that they had to drain our pool again, cut the errors out and do it over again at MY COST! I bickered and was able to get the work discounted by $1,000, but we had to shell out another $1,000 over our contract price. Need reliability as to when they will show up? Forget it! Grace will give you dates and times, but they come and go without anyone showing up., or they show up unscheduled. They expect you to keep our gate unlocked. We don't do that! The workers used our hoses and nozzles, broke all of them. They threw their garbage and used gum in the yard. We have dogs- the gym is poisonous to them! The drained the slurry in our yard, without permission! Doing so killed my cinnamon sage bush and our princess palm has been struggling since. We have no clue what chemicals or hazards were flushed into our yard. We were told "it's safe" by someone who couldn't tell me any other information. Our surfaces are staining easily. We don't believe we got the actual mini-tek promised. The "Kooldeck " we were promised? It was not IR (heat reflective) covering, just regular paint. We paid to have a portion of the Kooldeck leveled where water was sitting, they didn't do it, just painted over it. Water still pools. Oh! When they were spraying the "minitek" in the pool, the workers pulled out the foam pool line protectors. That led to clog pipes, which overheated our pump. To this day, I can time 1 minute and fill a small bucket with waste debris they didn't bother to clean up. They left an absolute mess. The best part of all of this? My neighbors got to watch the guys showering themselves in our front yard!!!

Fowler's Pools - Tile replaceed

Fowler's Pools

(22 reviews)

In late March 2024 we contracted with Fowler's to service our pool, spa and water feature. We…read morechose them because they had a very high rating on Yelp. During the initial months, their service was outstanding. At their recommendation we had them replace multiple components to our system. Their initial performance resulted in me writing a five star review on Yelp. In the past year, their service for us had deteriorated significantly. I contacted management multiple times regarding various issues. I complained when they replaced a very competent service technician with an individual who was marginal at best. After several months, he was replaced by another individual who was only minimally better. During the early months of our contract, Fowler's agreed to clean our water feature filter two times per month at no charge. Recently we noticed a reduction in the flow from the waterfall for our water feature and asked the technician to clean the filter. He replied "I'll do it next week". Several days later the water flow stopped altogether. This resulted in another call to management who subsequently informed me that the two times per month cleaning of the filter had not been done for the past five months. He then told me that they were no longer honoring their previous commitment and would only clean the filter every four months with a cost to us of more than $200. If additional cleanings were needed, we would be charged an additional fee. At that point, I decided to look for other vendors. The two that I interviewed both said that the water feature was full of algae. This was without any prompting by us. I contracted with a new vendor who cleaned the water feature filter and removed the algae. The time to clean the filter was seven minutes. To jeprodize a very lucrative contract for a seven minute task makes me question Fowler's business expertise. In retrospect, after spending over $13,000 with Fowler's in less than two years, I realize that they were not the company for us. I gave them more chances than most and they failed to perform to my expectations. I now know why they have recently received poor Yelp ratings from other individuals. On their website, they failed to include Yelp ratings. I wonder why!!! Richard J.

Very unhappy with Fowler Pools. I paid them thousands of dollars to install pool equipment and it…read morehas broken down a lot in the first few months. What's most upsetting is they don't take responsibility - they blame everything except themselves and their product/install. Usually a company that is proud of their work would make sure the problem is fixed the first time it breaks, but nope, this "brand new product" keeps breaking and they are utterly shameless each time they come out and never say sorry, but just start blaming other things. If they want to fix this, take your product back and give me my money back. Just like your product/install, the trust is not fixable.

Saturn Pool Company - Custom Pool Design

Saturn Pool Company

(18 reviews)

John and Cindy Kennedy from Cave Creek:…read more We decided several years ago to install a swimming pool, but were usure of the design we wanted or what the layout of our backyard would be. So we had the luxury of time and hosted at least 10 pool companies to our home to solicit pool designs, and bids. Our very last bid was SATURN POOLS owned by Nathan Green. Rarely do you expect a major construction project to complete without some issues or problems. In this build, the rarity occurred. From start to finish the build process was flawless, and the end result was a custom pool designed by Nathan Green based on a concept my wife related to him that he conceptualized for us. Our pool has literally taken our breath away and our custom designed water feature has become the envy of several neighbors (custom designed by Nathan Green). Quality, craftmanship, and materials were all top quality right down to the standard tile selections we opted for (would have been upgrades with any other company). So here are my takeaways from Saturn Pools and Nathan Green: 1. Saturn pools is what I would refer to as a low volume "boutique" pool company. The focus is not to build 1000 pools in a year, rather my observation is more that Saturn wants to build XX number of high quality pools. There was no high pressure process. Nathan presented his idea, we assessed it, and ultimately went with it. 2. Saturn pools does not weigh the pricing down with pool salesman fees, or additional fees for contractors to pad the bottom line etc. From start to finish you deal with one man, Nathan Green, the owner. He designs the pool, is the project manager for the build, and shows up on the job site regularly to check on the work being performed. It was not out of the ordinary to see him actually out there with a shovel himself. Hands on owner-I liked that. 3. Nathan was approachable, and always either a text message, email, or phone call away. When I came up with looney ideas that I thought would be great add-ons, he politely told me the pros and cons to my idea, and the reasoning behind his thoughts. He also would incorporate an idea if he thought it was beneficial for me. So he helped me not make mistakes he knew I would regret later during my pool ownership. 4. Saturn Pools/Nathan Green also, in my observation, cherry picked the contractors he used. I actually spoke at length to the excavator who was not only courteous, but wanted me aware and informed as to what he was doing-they hit granite so it was a hard dig. I had no idea what it was, but he took me outside and clearly I could see what he was talking about. The tile setter was focused, and the decking crew didn't mess around-they got it done, and were very good in their quality. So my summation on that is that you aren't getting a 1000 pool per year company grab anyone you can to be a sub-contractor. Rather, with Nathan you're getting his preferred contracting crews, crews he has established reciprocal business relationships with that he trusts. 5. Professionalism and customer treatment-outstanding. Nathan never pressured me for money up front etc. Rather there were pay points associated with each phase of the build. He or his office would reach out to me and let me know the amount of the payment needed. Easy Peezy! So in summary, if I moved and had to build another pool, the only company I would reach out to would be Saturn Pools and Nathan Green and forgo alternate pool companies. I highly recommend Saturn Pools as a builder, and again, the process was flawless from start to finish. As I said before, the quality and materials I gained by using Saturn Pools easily would have cost me $20,000 more due to commissions and added fees the larger cookie cutter companies upcharge for. So not only did I get a value (still wasn't cheap) but I got more for my money. Keep in mind this is a small local company so it takes a little more time to build-not much more, but you'll be happy if you opt for Saturn as your pool builder. Best wishes in your pool hunt, John and Cindy Kennedy

My wife and I are not originally from Arizona, and when we decided to build a pool in our backyard,…read morewe didn't know where to start. Prior to our move, I contacted several pool companies to get an idea of cost and time to build. Only a few made a personal visit to assess the size and layout of our yard, and others didn't return my calls or emails. Friends of ours were very pleased with their pool, built by Saturn Pools, so we decided to reach out to the owner, Nate Green. At our first meeting, we knew that Saturn Pools was the one for us. Pricing was right in line with other estimates, and the payment points were transparent and as quoted. Nate guided us in every aspect of our pool design, features, budget and estimated time of completion, which ultimately came out to be ahead of schedule. He directed us appropriately if a design or feature would not be cost effective in the long term. His communication through the entire build was excellent, and he was always available and responsive to any questions, even months after our pool was completed. Nate was regularly on-site to make sure that all work was completed to his specifications. We are thrilled with our new pool, and have received many compliments and requests for the name of the pool builder. We have friends who are using Saturn Pools based upon our recommendation, and they are equally happy with their choice. Nate Green with Saturn Pools is a man of integrity, experience, and customer service that excells. He makes sure his company provides the best quality pool at the best price. We highly recommend Saturn Pools for your pool build.

Despite the fact it was after hours (evening before the party), Rod actually spent 20 minutes with me via FaceTime to diagnose the problem, assist me with repairing a valve and priming a pump. He provided me with specific instructions and he was able to get everything working again all via FaceTime. HE DIDNT CHARGE ME ANYTHING! He was sympathetic to my time critical situation, and he genuinely wanted to be helpful. He would not accept any money despite my insistence. You just don't see this type of authentic integrity anymore. Excellent work ethic, extremely knowledgeable, quick response, and he didn't feel right charging me simply because he wasn't there in person. The FaceTime instruction was extremely educational and his thorough step-by-step guidance was spot on. He was very patient with me. Other companies said it would be $475 just to come out and take a look. This is the only company I will use for all my future pool service needs. Hard to find people like Rod these days. Thank you!!!
