Petes is my usual go to coffee shop as far as places you can generally find anywhere, they beat Starbucks by far. My favorite drink is the coconut black tie and I usually add a shot or two because I usually need it. This particular time we were there while ordering we had to repeat ourselves more than once for both drinks which was kind of annoying, but whatever. Then my mom asked for a soy latte and we found out they no longer carry soy fyi. You have a choice or regular, almond or oat milk. I was excited to see that they already have pumpkin spice drinks. I love fall and all that comes with it. They put in a new garbage are and then put signs on top of the old ones that said they were resting, which I found funny. Came by for coffee the other day and it was a decent experience. Ordered ahead and my beverage was ready upon arrival. It was interesting to note that pricing here is slightly more than Peet's Saratoga up the street. Parking is plentiful in the plaza. Staff were cordial wearing the Peet's apron with name tag. Some staff even opted to wear a mask too! The cappucino was tasty. Temperature was great and the espresso was smooth. Costco has 5 x $20 Peet's gift cards for $79.99. This isn't the first time I've gotten the wrong order at this location. What's especially disappointing is that this is my favorite location, where they sometimes make the best coffee. But other times, I end up with some of the worst coffee I've ever had. I've also noticed that whenever I see an older woman making my coffee, I already know it's probably not going to taste good. Please do something about the baristas' attention to orders. I understand that mistakes can happen when it's extremely busy and there are a lot of customers. But today there was no one else there, and my order was still made incorrectly. I was in dire need of an iced tea, and the particular passionfruit bubbly tea was perfect to hit the spot! When I saw the item come up on the menu, it did not stay. There was added sugar/simple syrup into the drink. As I got my iced passionfruit tea, I sip it and drink all the syrup/simple syrup at once! Gross! I really don't like sugar in my tea and actually favor the sourness of Lilikoi! The rest of the drink was fine since I already drank all the sugar upfront! I have been visiting this location for years. As of today, no more. I always bring my own drinking vessel. I order my black iced tea without ice, with a large cup of ice on the side. The manager kept repeating that his boss told him not to fill my vessel up. I said okay. He then repeated himself again. I also ordered a crispy ham and cheese sandwich. He brought my vessel back to me and it was less than if it were inside a Peet's large cup. I've tested this myself by pouring the tea without ice into my vessel. It comes about an inch from the top. This manager gave me less than a large cup. I asked him to pour the tea into a large cup to show him it was less than what their serving is. He poured it over the cup of ice. He again stated his boss told him not to do this. At this point I departed. He was wasting my time at this point. I am in the Hospitality industry as a District Manager for an extremely popular company. I know that in the broader food and beverage industry, iced tea typically carries an exceptionally high profit markup ranging from 200% to 500% or more, because the raw ingredient cost (water and tea leaves or bags) is very low compared to the retail selling price. Retail pricing also accounts for operating costs such as labor, rent, utilities, cups, and ice. This man lost a loyal guest over his pettiness. This GM never smiles, does not greet you, is non-approachable and could do better at operating his unit. Today, I stood at the counter and waited approximately 6 minutes before I was acknowledged. Peet's may have outsmarted itself. Is it a coffee shop or an online fulfillment center? I'm genuinely confused. I waited 10 minutes for a simple coffee. When I asked the store manager what was taking so long, they explained that Peet's HQ requires baristas to make drinks strictly in the order they're received--including mobile orders that haven't even arrived at the store yet. So customers standing at the counter get to watch imaginary customers who aren't there cut the line. That's an impressive way to make a coffee shop feel like a warehouse. Optimizing the app while de-optimizing the café doesn't seem like much of an optimization. read more

Stopped by Peet's Coffee and was warmly greeted by the staff--everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I ordered a hot mocha and was offered an excellent cheese danish to go with it (which was a perfect combo). I also picked up a strawberry banana pouch for my toddler, and he absolutely loved it--always a win when I can grab something for him too! The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the espresso in my mocha tasted a bit bitter that day. I watched the barista mix the shots with the mocha, so I'm guessing the shot pull may have been a little off. That said, it happens--and honestly, I still really enjoyed my drink. As others have stated, the cashier and baristas at this location do not provide good customer service and really make the experience so unpleasant. The girl at the cashier doesn't even say hello or ask you how your day is going, and definitely doesn't thank the customer for their business. She acts super bored and yawns as if the customer is inconveniencing her. The baristas also completely skip orders and don't apologize for their mistake or for making the customer wait. I frequent the Pruneyard, but I won't be returning to this coffee shop and hope the management of this location read these reviews and train their staff to be friendly to customers. read more

Peet's at 1330 El Paseo De Saratoga, San Jose, CA 95130 (AMC Plaza) has been my go to place for years! The staff, Ashley, Dominic, Dora and all the rest have been extremely customer focused and always provide a great coffee or tea drink/ food item they prepared. I have NEVER experienced a poor attitude from anyone working there! The store is very busy, regardless of the time of day. Yet the staff keeps the line moving and the coffee shop clean. There are also Peet's logo items for sale, along with coffee and teas. I really like the table set up. Some of them are at a nice level while they have a higher table with stools. This is very helpful to my wife, as she has mobility issues. Overall, this Peet's is a great place to go if you're looking to unwind or take a break. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this coffee shop. read more

I am a Peetnik through and through but I have visited this location for the last time. The staff are disinterested at best and occasionally even rude. But really my beef is with the coffee service itself. No matter how I order my drip coffee - via the app or in person - they never have coffee ready. While freshly brewed coffee is great, I shouldn't arrive 10-15 minutes after placing an order via the app and ask them to please begin brewing coffee (this has happened multiple times) for the empty labeled cup sitting on the counter. Nor should I have to wait while they serve lots of other guests as my empty cup sits on the counter awaiting coffee once it has been brewed (this has also happened multiple times too). Consistently, I watch guests arrive. order espresso drinks and leave while I wait for just plain drip coffee. Something is backward about that. This Peet's Coffee should be called Peet's espresso because they clearly don't care about brewed coffee. I'll stick to the other Peet's locations I frequent, which provide friendly, prompt service and good coffee! read more

I am a decaf drinker and when I arrived around 3:30 PM, there was no decaf on drip so they made absolutely fresh new decaf for me, the holiday blend which was so flavorful! Peet's has been my favorite chain coffee shop for years!! I like that their coffee doesn't always taste burnt (like ahem, won't mention the name) and not overly sweet. I normally order a large cold brew, large cold brew fog latte (if I'm craving something sweet), or a large hibiscus ice tea (during the hot summer days). This location in particular is in the same plaza as where I work out so it's pretty convienient. I love that they started mobile ordering recently so that's another big plus when you're in a rush to get to work in the mornings! read more

The staff there was nice, first we ordered eggnog latte (seasonal drink) but they don't have, so we asked we checked in and he said the $1 off can be applied for any drinks not only seasonal drink. This Peet's is a meeting spot for my friend and me to catch up on life, so even though it's a little far drive, they come here because it is halfway between us. I like that they have patio seating for those hot days, you can find a table with umbrellas for shade. People bring their dogs and have them sit outside with them while enjoying coffee. The space inside is a unique layout as it is longer than it is deep. The service is usually fairly quick. I have also tried working here, but somehow I don't get much done. Because of the layout, there is not enough space for comfortable chairs, which I like when I am reading. read more

The coffees in this location is up to the standard of Peet's. The reason I give 5 star is because it has superior customer service. All the people there are very friendly, nice and professional. It is a place I go a lot on my way for my daily walk. After I went there for for few days in a roll in a week, they remembered my drink and name. They will have it already type into the register before I even have to say anything and would just ask me if I want the usual. And they always will made my coffee quickly even line is long.
