I haven't been to Peet's in a long time. We have this tradition of going to coffee shop on a special day annually. So this year we picked this location of Peet's. The guy behind the counter was extremely friendly. I got a 1$ off deal on Milk Chocolate Almond Mocha with yelp checkin. Since they were out of Milk Chocolates, he said he will honor the deal with any Mocha. So we got a regular Mocha. We also got a Chocolate and Caramel Swirl, which is basically cold coffee with chocolate and Caramel toppings. This one was amazing - one of the best cold coffees I've ever had in my life! Banana Nut Bread and Apple Pastry were standard. Although I have been to couple of Peet's locations before, I don't remember them being this good. I have to start going to Peet's more often - till now Starbucks was our go-to coffee place. Overall, I am glad we chose this place for our special day. read more

Great staff during the two weeks that I've been working in the area! Jenny, the older lady with short hair, is so sweet. and helpful. When I asked about a limited edition cup, she called around to several locations to check if they had it in stock. There was no reason for her to extend her assistance, but she did! However, another staff member (whose name begins with a J) was quite cranky in the mornings... Her greeting was throwing her elbow onto the taller counter to her left and looking at me. Uh.. really? My Peet's card was $.17 short, so I asked if I could reload and pay with it, and I've done this multiple times. She could have simply put on $20, apply the $1 off reload deal, then charge the Peet's card for $.17. Instead, she kept saying how I wouldn't get the full $1 if I wanted to do it my way. What the heck?? When I told her that no other locations have ever had an issue with it she took it the wrong way and got very defensive. She said that she didn't have issues with it, didn't know how to do it, then said maybe only managers can do it. I'm just glad that Jenny is here in the mornings... read more

This place used to be a 5-star experience that we looked forward to. But it's been on a steady downward trajectory over the last year, and almost all of the former employees have disappeared. We've been fans of Peet's for their excellent coffee and selection of loose leaf teas, and great pastries and breakfast items too. But that has also suffered. First, the teas began to disappear. One by one, the teas containing Lapsang disappeared. First Scottish Breakfast went, then Russian Caravan, and finally, the Lapsang itself was "no longer offered." Their stellar black tea, Pride of the Port was "out of stock" recently for several weeks. Then one day we went in, and they told us they had gotten some in, but someone came in and bought the four tins that they had. No thought to keep on on hand for customers who order it by the cup. Thank you very much! Then again, why should they bother to stock it? Customers just end up buying it if they do! The death blow came with the increasingly hostile service. For several visits in a row, they would neglect our order. Forget to make it entirely until we'd inquire. Forget to give us our pastries. Neglect to stock the milk bar. On our last visit, I ordered a medium, and when my order was ready it came in a small mug. I raised an eyebrow and was told, "Oh, we're out of mediums, so I put it in a small." Seriously? So it's a medium, it's just in a "small" mug? I understand how that could work if she put it in a large mug, but . . . .? Then for the third visit in a row, while we were seated in the cafe attempting to enjoy our coffee, an employee would roll out the big trash container from the back, which is on hard plastic wheels that clatter loudly across the tile floor. It's not pleasant to watch, but the noise is deafening. This time she went a step further, taking the heavy aluminum lid and dropping to the floor, the sound crashing through the room. No accident. She just didn't care, and was shocked when my wife said something. Couldn't understand what the issue could possibly be. I discussed the issue with Peets corporate and they agreed that these were valid concerns that need to be addressed and assured me they would be. But not having seen any improvement in months, I'm sure you can understand, Madison B. (below), why we're finally done with Peet's. Sadly. Because we used to stop in 4-5 days a week. read more

They were polite but forgot my small hot roast even though there were alot of staff behind the counter. I wouldn't state how it's dirty behind the bar when customers are in the store neither. The person who rung me up had a look like she was laughing at me or looking at me strange. Side story: I decided to shave my head as a female. That could be odd to some people, but to slyly cover up the obvious you could just say I have an eclectic style so your face doesn't state you want to laugh at me. Didn't have a great customer service experience there at all. Specifically with the older gentleman working there with the glasses and the grey ponytail. Didn't seem to know how to interact. The orange mocha was excellent. The service and suggestive product offerings were of superior quality. I was there during lunchtime on a Saturday. Even though the line was long, the staff worked expeditiously and kept the line moving. Overall, I was impressed by the quality of the drink and the service rendered by these superb baristas. It's funny I'm reading all these nice comments. But.... I walk in today while it was dead. Three people are working... No hello/greeting. One person went to the back and the other two moved to the register far away without telling me 'oh we can take your order right over here'. I literally waited 30 seconds and I walk over to the register I asked for the coconut cream javiva. while the guy is still having a conversation with the girl about her personal problem. He is constantly pursuing her to leave her boyfriend. She is telling him it's hard when she has gone all the way. Exactly,I heard all that while I was waiting to give my order. The next thing he goes five dollars. I grab my drink and I'm about to leave the conversation is still going on. Now he's telling her how he keeps tabs on his girlfriend. Beautiful:/ Very disappointing customer service. It doesn't matter if I'm the first person when you open the door or if I'm the last person you close the door. This company pays you the checks you make. Act like you want to be here even if you don't. You do not make the money with such repulsive customer service. I am a total Peetnik, love love love Peet's and am so glad they appear to be expanding rapidly in the Sacramento area. I remember when the only one I knew of locally was near the Galleria at Roseville! Anyway, though I love all Peet's no matter what, this one is my favorite. I've had exceptional service from a couple of the team members, who always seem very outgoing, and notice they have samples more often than other branches I frequent. Also, I love that this Peet's puts a carafe of soymilk out, which means I don't have to pester a barista for a splash of it in my iced coffee. If you are a discerning coffee drinker you will definitely notice the difference in Peet's. In terms of beans, I always choose Arabian Mocha Java and have had many compliments on it from friends and family who I've served it to. I wholeheartedly think it's worth any difference in price. Also, note that by buying it from Peet's rather than pre-packaged in a supermarket, you are assured they've been roasted in the past couple days AND you get a free regular coffee (or a card to get one later)!! If you love a dark roast, definitely try their French. It's the best dark coffee I've ever had! Tea selection unparalleled by any other local coffee shop. If you are a Starbies fan, I urge you to try Peet's because they also have an excellent selection of sugary espresso drinks. Their freddos (iced blended drinks) are delectable, and made with much finer ingredients than Starbies... ie, real Dutch processed cocoa, instead of super processed chocolate-y powders. Their iced lattes are the best I've ever tasted, but **note that they use whole milk as a default** so be sure to specify 2% or nf if you're not a whole milk drinker. Worst customer service of any coffee shop in any state, anywhere - employees were downright hostile. Heavyset woman and cashier thought it was amusing to pretend they didn't understand customer orders and then laugh out lout as people walked away. A nice cafe in Folsom, Peet's is a nice escape from the generic Starbucks! Atmosphere is good, and so are the drinks, and the outside patio is nice and closed off! The location has its pros and cons, it's right next to the pedestrian bridge that goes over East Bidwell, so if you're looking for a place to stop during a walk/jog/bike ride, it's a perfect pit stop along the trails! Otherwise, the parking lot is sometimes full, and the westbound traffic sometimes makes it hard to get into the lot. To be fair, I took off one star only because of the Wi-Fi, I came here to do homework, and was shocked to see the speed tragically slow at only 1Mbps. read more

This Pete's is always packed, and today is no exception. The servers are smiley, but the new girl at the register was very slow... she'll get it at some point... There is a small patio outside to sit and enjoy the perfectly crafted lattes and coffees. Plenty of tables, but the chairs are not really comfortable. They have WiFi for free. I've noticed a few things with Peet's. Location is never close to a freeway exit/entrance. No drive-thru. Strength of coffee is consistent. With that said, this specific Peet's is no different. Strong stuff, great teas. Coffee that actually tastes like coffee. Not some dessert drink. We'll be back because it's the closest one to us. read more

Don't get anything with pumpkin spice in it!!! Me and my boss stopped in to get a pick me up and had to throw out our drinks after both having just one sip. I ordered a small white mocha with one pump pumpkin spice and it tasted like someone dumped a cup of ground up nutmeg in my coffee. Excellent coffee! I've been going to this location since the first day it opened. I don't sway much on my blended drink...always an extra hot mocha - no whip! I love their tea selection as well. In my opinion..the BEST coffee for home brew is Ethiopian Super Natural. It's hard to get, but when it's in buy in bulk! Great coffee, fantastic service, nice ambiance. My only complaints have to do with the location. The parking lot is a nightmare to get in and out of when they are busy, and the store is too small, also when they are busy, it can be hard to find a table, and it feels like you are sitting in the lap of the people at the next table. But other than those 2 location things, this store has my devoted patronage. The staff are so friendly. Sometimes I go in, just because I know I will feel better when I come out; they always make me smile and feel understood. Cannot recommend them enough. Their espresso has a bite that Starblablas does not have. Their coffee has pleasant undertones and after taste, no acid like the Star place. Try it, you may have to get used to how strong it is, but once you do, you will be ruined for life, and never accept crappy coffee again! Ha! Thanks to everyone at this Peet's location. I had an awful experience today at Peets Coffee on Bidwell in Folsom. I wish I had gotten the young woman's name who was obviously not trained to handle problems. I ordered two drinks and paid with my Apple phone. While I was completing the transaction she jumped on the adjoining register. As I walked over to the wait area she yells out your card did not go through. So I walked back and again went through the process and again read the "approved" wording on their equipment. Again I walk away and she yells out again that I need to do it over. The third time she watched over and agreed that it said it was approved. Meanwhile I pickup my drinks to head for the door and she yells out "Sir, you cannot leave, your card is not approved!" Please wait for our manager. After a several minutes as my drinks were getting cold a woman goes and starts analyzing the register without saying anything to me. At this point its been 5 minutes so I lay the drinks on the counter and left without them. The attitude was awful and I'll probably never buy at Peets again. If they have a problem and the clearly see its their equipment, they should not punish a customer for it. After getting home, I checked my card online and saw it was not charged, so they definitely had a problem WITH THEIR EQUIPMENT, not my credit worthiness. read more
