NO NO and definitely NOT. How embarrassing - I've seen all good in venues I've been blessed to be a part of. Peet's disrespected me and the people that recommended it: Los Altos/Cupertino - this is not Beverly Hills or even Newton, Iowa. COURTESY is king/queen - even Henry Wells knew that (thank you Wells Fargo for delivering - even in the aftermath). I was addressed by the entire staff with brass, racial, derogatory and rude comments - IN. FRONT. OF. ME. I respected Peet's for home-roots in my hometown; but today - you made me a 2nd class citizen. Pretty much every Peet's experience is a pleasant one, and this one is the same. This time I tried a Cappuccino Havana here, which is espresso mixed with condensed milk, steamed milk and topped with a little cinnamon. Really good, try it. Espresso had a dark full body, and the sweetness coming from the condensed milk is a very nice pair. Like a match made in heaven. Which prob explains why I like Vietnamese coffee so much. I appreciate that Peet's will give you a complimentary coffee with every purchase of a lb of beans. Though I'm not sure if this applies to every location... I find that Peet's consistently has a a high quality coffee of the day. Major Dickson's is a staple, and it's never too acidic or bitter, but always a nice darkness, with a very subtle floral aroma lingering in the breath. This Peet's is in Foothill Shopping Plaza, right off the of Homestead and Grant. Note that parking can get difficult after work when everyone is shopping at Trader Joe's and or foothill produce. Man this is why I love Peet's. Friendly atmosphere, not too pretentious. No hipster vibe and coffee shaming to noobs, and (almost) always delivering a quality coffee experience. read more

First time in 4 years I come to this location and honestly it has really gone down on customer service. I asked for an iced churro macchiato and got my cut full of ice. When I asked for less ice the barista remade it but filled it up with foam instead of milk. I was so excited to come back to peets for a good cup of coffee, but I won't be coming to this location. read more

I like to think that I am a low-maintenance person. I don't expect things to be perfect, nor do I ask for things to be stellar. I do, however, expect that if there are two people behind a counter where one person is engaged with another customer for a little bit that the other employee will, in the very least, recognize that there are more than four people in queue and "get things started". That was not the case at this location of Peet's. Like I said, one of the people behind the counter was busy helping out another customer with beans. The barista was finishing-up with another beverage, made eye contact a few times, and when she finished-up with the drink left for the back of the store. Um, hello? There are four people in line here, and you decide to just leave? After about 5 minutes of waiting (yes, we waited that long), the other employee had finished up with the other customer, and miraculously the barista reappeared and so did someone from the back of the store. Strange? Methinks not. Rude and not customer service-friendly. Yes. I recognize that someone may not have been on the clock, and we may have just got there when they were changing shifts (which I think is giving them a little too much), but, dude, the barista could have started drinks in anticipation and just let people sit there. She even copped an attitude when after a little bit we asked for a cup of water. She was overheard saying "some people just don't understand" when she saw that we were giving them dirty looks. Yeah, we do understand. We get that you don't want our business. Save your money and go elsewhere--even the Starbucks across the way may give you better service than what we got at this location of Peet's. read more

Booooo... When it comes to chain places like starbucks, safeways or even restaurants like Cheesecake factory etc... You can't review, in my opinion, the food because it should be standard at all locations. UNLESS something horribly goes wrong.. The coffee tastes exactly the same here as it does any other peets. The service is the exact same.. coffee workers who make my coffee and give me my change. The only reason why this peets is so horrible is the location. Its right across from a starbucks.. (rivalry?) the parking lot is down right INSANELY packed. they share the complex parking lot with wells fargo, starbucks, curves, rite aid, trader joes and other small restaurants. Who ever though of making this parking lot was not too smart either.. a lot of turns, a lot of dead ends and certainly not space efficient. It took me about 4 circles around the parking lot to find a free open space. It then took my bf about another 3 circles to find parking. It was awful. Coffee is the same here.. but the location gives it 2 stars. if you are on a time restraint like I was.. do not come here... read more

Awesome coffee... Starbucks can't even compete on the coffee front. The coffee is rich and smooth... unlike how Starbucks coffee can sometimes come out bold & bitter or even a bit sour when it's been sitting on the heater for too long. You can get a much more consistent and tasty cup o' joe at Peet's. However, I do think Starbucks' frappucinos consistently taste better than the blended offerings at Peet's. While Peet's makes each blended drink from scratch and not a pre-fabricated mix, there are too many factors in the way the baristas make the ice-blended drinks which makes for a risky order at Peet's. The Peet's here is relatively new, but it's interesting that someone else opened up a Starbucks in the same plaza just a few months ago. But seriously, there's a new Starbucks literally next door to Peet's now. I wonder which one is doing better. The only bad thing about this Peet's is the limited seating. However, they do have some outdoor seating available but it's situated on the sidewalk right by the parking lot. :P read more

Drinks are still good, although today they're out of coconut, and the Cotonut Mint Freddo is my current favorite here. I'm updating because the Internet access is now free, but slow (as in www.google.com takes 3 minutes to load). :( Past two times I've been here I've had to ask them to reset the router. First time it didn't make a difference. The Good: Great coffee if you like it dark and strong, close to home. I'm a fan of the iced coffe in summer and the hibiscus cooler. The Bad: Service always seems a tad slow. read more

This is "MY" Peets! I work in the same plaza, and live only about a mile away so I end up here between five and seven days a week (no joke!). The coffee is always great, and I love the staff. The management has kind of a purest view of coffee, but if you ran a Peet's I would assume you would, too. I've seen a couple reviews talking about the customer service here being poor, but I can honestly say that I haven't had anything but good experiences. I love my Peet's, and I plan on continuing to go to this one as long as I'm in the area! read more

Another morning in the comfy chairs at my favorite Peets. Nothing better, especially since they have the sugar free mocha that I can enjoy guilt free for Lent. I try not to take the speedy and gracious service for granted, so I have to remember to put a tip in the jar on my way out....always good to tip an accomplished barista. read more

After my last disappointing visit I was contacted by Customer Service. They wanted to follow-up about not only my last experience but also my previous visits that had not gone so well. They were on top of it! Not only apologetic for what had occurred but the best for me was that they wanted to correct things for future customers. Doug the manager assured me that there would be some checks and balances in place to make sure they were meeting the wants and needs of there customers. Honestly this was so refreshing and what customer service is all about. They even threw a drink to replace my last cup. Thanks Peet's for making me feel heard and valuing my patronage. read more

As a general rule, I like Peet's products way better than Starbucks, but staffing at Peet's seems way more inconsistent, causing highly variable results. I've patronized this Peet's for over 10 years, on and off. Right now it has definitely become an "off", although due more to Peet's policies than to the staff (staff, in particular the manager who claimed to be the "owner", aint great, but ...). First, it now happens fairly frequently that the mobile ordering app delays your beverage pickup window when it thinks things are too busy. It is extremely irritating to arrive even 5 minutes ahead of the pickup time (which it doesn't really inform you of well), see the store empty and workers standing idle, but can't get your beverage because the order hasn't been given to them (even though ordered 15 minutes earlier). Having an inexperienced manager doesn't help that. Second, when the only way to get a refund is to call a 800 number where you wait forever, it's pissed me off enough to where they've lost my business forever, or at least for this wave of staff. read more

The older woman with the blondish hair was very rude to me one day when I was buying a pound of coffee. It was my first time buying coffee for taking home, and I didn't understand that she wanted to know what kind of filter I had (flat or cone), so when she asked me 'what kind' of coffee I wanted, I said 'ground', and she laughed, rolled her eyes, and told me that 'that was obvious' and honestly I felt humiliated! I haven't gone back since. Just a little graciousness for those of us who don't buy coffee every day would be appreciated. read more

I usually love Peet's, but I don't normally go to this one as it's not in my usual path. My sister and I went there midday this past Thursday while we were waiting for our counselor to show up at the nearby Gate of Heaven cemetery to purchase an urn for my father's burial the next day. It wasn't busy at all. We both ordered almond milk lattes--nothing fancy aside from the almond milk (we both can't have regular milk). I am a very unassuming person, but the barista who made my drink kind of slammed it down on the pickup counter, hard enough that some of it sloshed over. My sister's came shortly after with similar treatment. No apology or acknowledgement from the barista at all, and the cups were about an inch from being full and didn't have any foam at all. Uh, I don't know what we did to deserve attitude like that, because I recall being polite and friendly at the register. I don't know our barista's name, but she had short blonde hair and couldn't have been much older than me (I'm in my late 20s). We were both in a hurry to get back to the cemetery and really weren't up for a confrontation (like I said, working on our dad's funeral details, not exactly up for unnecessary dramatics) so we just exchanged a confused look with each other and left. The lattes tasted fine but not the usual stellar latte I'd expect from a Peet's at over $3 a pop. I know one bad experience with one employee does not necessarily make the whole shop a bad one, but having this as my first experience at this location in a long while, neither of us are ever likely to return there in the near future. If that blonde barista ever happens to see this, I hope this was all a misunderstanding, but you really should examine how you interact with your customers, and their beverages. read more

Came here in the afternoon to get myself a small coffee, and the old man working with long curly hair was so rude.. He calls out my coffee and I ask what kind of blend it is. Slow service today. Understaffed. Why does it take 30 mins to get 1 lb of ground coffee ?

Like the usual Peets I've come to know. I've been a Starbucks person myself for a long time. But I had the chance to spend a gift card and visited this place and purchased my first ground coffee from Peets. Unlike Starbucks, Peets let's you order at half a pound or a pound or other multiples of that, and probably finer denominations too. That's nice in case I want to try a different coffee without a committing to a full pound. read more

Just had horrible service. Ordered a couple coffees. Usually the cashier (at other Peet's) gets that right away. This cashier didn't so I figured they had a different system. So I waited. And waited. And waited. Then after the 2 customers after me in line got their coffees I finally spoke up. They forgot. Not even an apology or a free coffee coupon. The customer service here is the worst I have experienced at any Peets. One particular barista seems to have quite the attitude. The barista wanted to charge me for putting some cold milk in my espresso shot. There really should be no difference between this action or me using the milk on the counter. The reason I do not use the milk sitting out on the counter is it is often too warm and I have gotten sick from milk that sits out too long. I won't be going back to this Peets. read more

Coffee still sometimes tastes a little burnt, but they have this new barrista (not sure how knew since the hubby is usually the one who goes in) who is fast and good. I was the only one in the store. The environment was clean and ambient, and very nice. Why the 3 star review? My drink (iced latte) took 4 + minutes to make. The barista apologized for the wait, and I smiled and said it was ok. I really don't mind waiting for good coffee. BUT, I could tell the espresso had been sitting out for much longer than 10 seconds, and therefore expired. It tasted wayyyy bitter. It was crap espresso, not up to Peet's standard. read more

I went in because I heard that they had good loose leaf tea. It's to the left right when you walk in (I missed it at first). I got the Black Currant and Jasmine Fancy and they are so good! 4 oz each, 13 dollars total. The nice barista asked if I wanted a complementary tea or coffee with it, love that! I got a cup of Earl Grey with Bergamot, will have to get some loose leaf tea of it next time because it was good. I just hate this parking lot during busy times, hard to find parking and hard to get back out. read more

i used to be a super Starbucks fan. yes, used to. i am no longer one, and i am happy to say that i really like this Peet's. here's why: the atmosphere is calming (even when there are a ton of people in there), the staff are professional (note i didn't say friendly. not that they are not, but it's more important to me that they do their job and get things done right than to chit chat with people on a Monday morning when i am anxious to get to the office for my early am calls/meetings), the coffee and scones are good. the only complaint i have is the construction that's going on in that area. going in and out of the lot is a bit troublesome. that did keep me from going there sometimes... read more
