I love peet's. I am a huge fan! But, this peet's in particular is a horrible representation of peet's. The service is rude and very very slow. The store is not clean. I went today and after waiting 10 min with just one person in front of me they finally let the cashier know that the credit card machine is down. There was no half and half and the coffee tasted like it was brewed from old used coffee. The guy Im assuming is the manager is very umproffesional. I have recently moved here from Santa Clara and have never been to a peet's so bad. read more

This is right by my work, so I've been coming here so long that I've seen good service, bad service, good experiences bad experiences, the bathrooms working, the bathrooms closed for the day, dirty, clean, the AA folks hanging around outside, the regulars, the vagrants, the lunch crowd, the local teens, and anything and everything in between. A reminder that just because one experience one day might be bad, it doesn't necessarily mean the place is always like that. This place has not been consistently excellent or terrible, but somewhere in the middle, like many places. read more

I started drinking coffee 23 years ago at the original Peet's in Berkeley... I have been to nearly all of them and this one is by far the best! The great managment and superior baristas are what make this Peet's outstanding. Wether you are just running in for a quick cup to take to work or staying for a few hours to chat or surf the internet. The ambiance is always great and the employees treat you with respect and give a friendly smile. There has always been a great sense of humor at this store that seems to carry over to any new employees. I prefer coffee off the urn but on the rare occasion that I have something else I like to let the employees surprise me. This is a lot of fun for me when I tell them what I like about coffee and then let them suggest something. I have never been dissapointed. There are great moments when I get in on an impromptu taste testing with a couple employees over a new coffee like the Ancient Abyssinia versus the Ethiopian Fancy. For the first ten years I loved Arabian Mocha Java but for the last 10 years Ethiopian Fancy has been my favorite. The store is clean and the bar is kept stocked up. I am amazed at the level of service especially when the crowd hits hard in the morning. The down side: I wish the internet was not code based and time limited. I wish Peet's would join in on the comfy seating instead of all the hard backed chairs. Needs more power outlets for laptops. Despite these shortcomings.. The coffee and tea is as good as the competition. But the service is hit-or-miss. And the air-head barista seems a bit off, as if on lithium or some other meds. She cannot keep track of which customer is next in line, even when there is only that one customer standing in line. Then she demands you go back around the red-velvet ropes and stand in line all over again, since she thinks you didn't enter the line from the correct side of the counter. read more

I guess I'll start by saying that i have been a fan of Peets for many many many years. Recently i have become increasingly disenchanted and have to other coffee shops for what i consider a good, not over the top 8$ a cup, coffee. I think it might have started when they were bought out few years ago, subtle changes not favorable in my opinion started. The chai latte went to something undrinkable as they changed their recipe and now even a triple latte feels weak. Sorry to say i have started to shop elsewhere and a once great experience is now mediocre. read more

Love Peets - and this one has a good location. The lines moved quickly the couple times we were there, and the service was quick at the counter too. Bonus that they have some low fat and no-fat pastry options. Great that there's lots of outdoor tables as well. read more

Peets Coffee is the alternative to the other big coffee chain. Although they both specialize in coffee, they could not be further apart from one another. Peets focus is around their dark roast coffees. Don't walk in to Peets and think you can order the same as the other big chain, you have to really take some time and decide what kind of coffee flavor you are in the mood for. Coffee is truly at the center of Peets, I can always walk into these coffee shops and expect to have a great cup of brew. There was no additional fluff... just coffee. read more

This is my favorite Peet's location of those I've tried. Clean, large, the staff is friendly and super helpful and the drinks are consistently good. They do use the dreaded Garuda espresso on Saturdays like all the Peet's do, but I just don't go on Saturdays. That stuff is bitter and awful, tastes like something a rookie at Starbucks would try and pass off. Anyhow, give this place a try. read more

There's not much to say. It's a Peet's, and it's only 200ft further from the office than the local Starbucks. Opening day was a godsend.

I usually don't have a problem finding parking in the street and it gets the job done but there's something about the place that I'm just not crazy about. It's the closest to home and I don't need to deal with the parking situation like I do on Ygnacio Valley or Crescent Drive, but I almost rather then go to this location. read more

Large Peet's with indoor and outdoor seating. I see lots of older crowd locals hanging out here during the day. They have a good supply of sweets/desserts, and a large selection of coffee making equipment as well as cups, thermoses, etc. Staff has always been friendly but at slow times they seem to sit back and relax, not making fresh coffee or having enough staff up front for the sudden rush. read more

Maybe it was the time I was down there (yesterday, Farmers Market), but why are there so many homeless people congregating around this place, and why is it that Peets allows non patrons to use the bathroom? Thank you, Jesus, for opening a Peet's in downtown Concord. By virtue of one little Coffee shop, you've taken our formerly drug-addled and biker-infested Todos Santos Plaza and launched it into a suburban almost-hip, soon-to-be-cool hangout. We're not quite there yet - we still need a good cocktail bar, sans bar trash - but it's a huge leap. The coffee is superb, the staff is genuine and the atmosphere, while perhaps a bit more rough around the edges than in Walnut Creek, is pleasant and welcoming. Starburnt (across the Plaza) is for the kids with their 1,000-calorie frap-a-whatever milkshakes. This is for Coffee and Tea drinkers. read more

I love the location because it's so close to work but man, it takes a hot minute to get a drink here. And (this has nothing to do with Peet's) but my car has almost been hit practically every time I park there. I've gotten to the point where I avoid that part of the street and go completely around the block to park so I don't have to have a heart attack before my cup o jo. They carry the almond milk, but the barista didn't know that it was sweetened. After getting my drink and tasting it, I asked to see the container and there is was... Sugar. read more

This Peet's is my personal life-savior!! It's conveniently located a few steps away from my work, and only here they make a magic potion called "real coffee"! Hot or iced, it's always fantastic. Their ice tea is amazing too, especially in an black/green combo. Also, they have this wonderful Berry Pomegranate tea cooler.. And chai latte.. And a lot of Freddos, even the light version. And cafe au lait.. And they serve peppermint mocha.. And, best of all, White Chocolate mocha!! read more

So disappointed! Besides the service being painfully slow, I did not get what I ordered! The barista seemed flustered and was perhaps still suffering from New Year's Eve, but there was no espresso in my large white chocolate mocha. With the large, there should have been three shots! This has got to be the most inefficiently-run Peet's that I've ever patronized. Long lines and slow employees.

The counter girl Tess was outright nasty and over the top rude. More rude than I have ever acted to any single person working in retail my entire life. Just nasty. Threw away my receipt stating 'I DIDNT have a 50% off coupon' after disregarding the request in the first place an attempting to charge me 100% I protested and asked for her to look at the receipt she refused. I took it from her and read it out loud. After some deliverance she obliged without saying sorry. If it wasn't for the awesome Barista Nick who is really cool and nice I might not ever be back. read more

Peet on Salvo in Concord, was so dirty today. It used to be nice. We walked in at noon and the floor was filthy. Had mud tracks and dirt. Bathroom was messy with paper towels on the floor and looks like it hasn't been mopped in weeks. I hope they get their act together. This is one of my favorite Peet's in the east bay! I give them 5 stars for excellent customer service! As personally being a barista in my past, I know what good service looks & feels like at a coffee shop. & nearly every barista here actually takes the time to build a relationship with the customers. Specifically Cindy! She ALWAYS shows concern to me & how my day is going & exactly what it is I'd like to drink & how I'd like it made. She's such a blessing to the company. Along with the store manager (I regret forgetting her name right now-I think it's Patty??)! Very caffeinated & contagious genuine personality. Concord can be a long way from home for most of us but Peet's in Concord is an excellent spot to stop and remind yourself that one day is only 24hrs. In Concord, of course, it only feels like 48hrs because people in Concord can't count too well. The staff are friendly and the drinks are consistent. If you have to survive a business trip or a court case in Concord; this Pete's coffee is an oasis until you can return to civilization once again. In fact, I've seen the Mayor of Concord drinking coffee at this Peet's on several occasions. That has it's charms too: information gathering with a public official. Can I put 0 stars? They really need to make this an option. I choose Peet's over Starbucks every time because it actually tastes like coffee. I work right in the area so I tend to come over to Peet's often for my mid-day pick me up. I go to this location like I always do and there are about 5 people in front of me and a woman checking out at the time I walk in. There is a homeless man standing up near her looking through the food. He was not trying to cut anyone nor did it look like he was trying to steal because he had money in his hand. He grabbed a yogurt and asked the woman checking out if he could go in front of her. She said yes. At this time the man in front of me was complaining under his breath about this homeless man who was HARMING NO ONE! He walked up to the area where the coffee is made and complained. I don't know what he complained about but then some girl with long pink hair starts walking from behind the counter loudly saying that he needed to go (the homeless man). She comes from behind the counter and very loudly again told him that he "needed to go outside where he belonged". Are you kidding me?! Who talks to another human being like this?!?! He was not fighting back but was still casually trying to find what food he wanted because he was going to pay for it. This pink haired rude girl proceeded to call the cops! WHY?! He's not bothering anyone! I was completely disgusted said a few words and proceeded to take my business to Starbucks. I cannot believe she spoke this way to another human being especially in a work place. I will NEVER come back to this location again and I have also let my entire office know what happened and they have all also boycotted this location. Hopefully this girl gets a talking to and learns her lesson that it's not okay to act this way. read more
