I wanted to write an update to my review of a few years back. This is a great Peets location (honestly, I think most of them are). A few years back, indeed I was disappointed by this location and I started going to their Solana Beach location instead. This location, Bressi Ranch, is now, in my opinion, one of their best and it is due to whatever changes they have made. Not only is the coffee great, but their staff is also exceptional. Fantastic coffee shop. The coffee they serve is top notch and they have great snacks to go along with it. The atmosphere is nice as well, there's plenty of seating whether you are here solo to get work done or with a group of friends. Super nice area to come to and grab a coffee. Theres limited working tables here and outlets to plug into if you need a quick charge while you are working. Theres a lot of great food nearby if you need a quick lunch while you are working in the Bressi Ranch area. The down fall of it all is the parking. Sometimes it's hard to find parking here and so you end up parking at the Trader Joe's parking lot or you've just completely missed the fact that there is a parking lot on the back side. For me to yelp another coffee shop besides Starbucks and give it a thumbs up, is history my friends. I've been on Team Starbucks since 1994 and I've never strayed. I've stayed loyal to the brand, I've collected well over 50 mugs from all over the world, purchased their ornaments around the holidays--and even had a custom table made with the Starbucks logo on it which is right outside our balcony for afternoon coffee breaks. I know, I'm crazy. So, when Starbucks, changed their frappuccino formula, I felt betrayed. Coming 3'x a day at times, I would spend well over $500+ a month on their damn coffee frappuccino's. How dare they change the formula on me?! Not only can I not stand the new taste, it lead me to stray to find a replacement. This leads me to Peet's. In the last couple of months, I've started testing different brews at this location. At first, it was an adjustment and I was back and forth between Starbucks and Peet's exploring new drinks at each. Often stopping at both to do a side-by-side comparison. Now, I've found several drinks that I love and I'm a big fan. The Caffè Freddo and also their iced coffee. I've been mixing it up and I love it. I even like their Summer House iced tea but not so much the Jasmine Lime Iced Tea. And this is where history is made once again, my friends. This week, I've been exclusive to this Peet's everyday and I haven't been to Starbucks once. The staff at Peet's are very nice and have been patient with me when I've come in using the Starbucks lingo and asking questions about their coffee beans, drinks--you name it! I'm not declaring that I'll never go back to a Starbucks again, but it's safe to say that I'll be going to Peet's more often, for sure! Speaking of...I'm off to Peet's to get my fix! read more

I really don't get all the hype. I consider the drinks to be average. They aren't the best thing I've had but they aren't repulsive either. If you need a caffeine fix and you're in the area, sure, go here. I have a hard time getting service in the area which makes it difficult to do any kind of work online without connecting to their WiFi. I guess it's not the end of the world but I'd like to make phone calls if necessary and of course check in on Yelp ;) I know the location has no reflection on the product but in general I just find this place to be very... vanilla. Been going to Peets in Bressi Ranch for years. Usually order the same thing, iced Havana cappuccino. Which rarely tastes the same, but thats OK. Sometimes I try something different, but more and more I am thinking of going to Starbucks. The regular drip coffee I ordered today was so awful, I only drank half. I don't know if there is a shortage of employees with proper training or the coffee itself is subpar. Unhappy customer! read more

Anybody who knows me, KNOWS I am a man who LIVES for his coffee! While I frequent Starbucks w/ the best of them, whenever I'm passing close enough to Bressi Ranch, I pop in to Peet's. Why? Because the coffee is AMAZING! Even better, there's a 3 or 4 different beans used across the week, certain ones on certain days, so while you might find you're not a huge fan of the beans on Wednesday, doesn't mean you won't like Friday (mmmm Friday!). The staff is generally very friendly and more than a few of them really seem to know their stuff about coffee. From time to time they've had coffee TASTINGS too which is really helpful since you can compare different blends to find the roast you like best. They also have a very good tea selection for those who are less coffee minded, or just simply like a good tea. I recommend either a small Cappuccino (on Fridays especially!) and/or a small Mocha. These are SO much better than Starbucks in every..single..way and you're sure to enjoy them if you love coffee at all! Also, there's a lot of outdoor seating for hanging out, or a few SMALL inside tables for working on your laptop (expected for coffee shops really). f you show up during your early morning commute (6am`ish) you'll find strikingly calm and quiet outside, which is a brilliant escape from the chaos of the rest of the world when you're just waking up! :) read more

Peet's makes their coffee and tea the RIGHT WAY - the way it should be done (better than Starbucks)! They always extract just the right flavor from the beans, which makes for a really tasty Americano! You have to try the Moroccan Mint Green Tea that is totally worth the extra wait to get it iced. The mint makes it taste colder than cold! LOCATION - Located right where everything is in Bressi Ranch, this place is right in the middle of the cluster #### of parking lots, where all terrible drivers converge. STAFF - Quirky, friendly, genuine, funny - they rock! My favorite is the guy who joked that I should get the name "The Crusher" put on my coffee cup...one day I will! Anyone who thinks this Peet's location is good, probably has not tried other Peet's coffeehouses. Personally, I have been here 3 times, and I have tried to like it, but the drinks just do not taste very good. I have ordered the mocha coffee twice and it lacks chocolate and is bitter. Also the temperature has not been very hot. I also bought a hot chocolate for my daughter, and she did not finish it telling me it was not very good (Come on, what child does not like hot chocolate? She always likes the ones at Starbucks...) Yesterday, my husband ordered a regular drip coffee and his coffee was full of ground beans at the bottom. Come on.... Did they forget to use a filter? Great coffee. But if you come here because you need an internet connection...go somewhere else. Its bad, and I mean really bad. When you tell the staff about the shoddy connection, they shrug their shoulders and simply reply, "we know". And so I live right around the corner, and remind them weekly in hopes that someone actually manages this location can get something done. But to no avail, the internet is as reliable as a 99 cent umbrella in a shit storm. And you dont want to get caught in a shit storm with a 99 cent umbrella. I know that I am not the only person with this problem because every time I stop by for a latte and use the internet, I must use my cell phone connection. And I can see a list of other cell phone connections of other desperate internet users. And so we cry out to you Mr. Schultz, please fix this problem. This is my favorite place for meetings. I'm not really a coffee drinker but the tables are always clean, they are happy to give me my decaf in a regular mug, and the people are always nice. I also never have to wait more than five minutes even though they might be busy. This place is always better than the competition, which is why I love to go here. read more

Very cool place. I have only had their iced teas and vegan chocolate chip cookies, but both were very good. I did feel there was a strange vibe about the place as it appeared to be filled with regulars on the day I was there. I was by myself (waiting for my coordinator to arrive for our meeting) and every time I glanced around, I seemed to catch someone from one large group peering in my direction. Maybe I'm exhibiting a huge lack of confidence but it just caught me off guard. Overall, great place to meet over coffee and vegan cookies! read more

Better than 99% of the chains! The coffee here is made with care and people are super nice! Here's an anecdote I heard from my SF friends..."at a street corner in DTSF, there are 3 coffee places--Peets, Starbucks and Tully's. The line is consistently the longest at Peets." They make one of the best lattes!!! Try it hot, cold, flavored, it's ALL delish! I like to ask for half the syrup in the off chance I get a flavored latte because I think it is better balanced. Friendly staff, lots of seating. Can't judge the joe as I didn't get to try it. But if its anything like the other Pee'ts locations I love so much, its good and its strong. Only drawback is the timed one hour wifi. Not cool. There is plenty of seating, didn't seem like people were abusing the privilege. This review is for this particular location. Peet's coffee is the best money can buy, and is correspondingly pricey. I often buy coffee here for friends, but I have found that it has a pretty short shelf-life. I now drink Chinese tea exclusively, so I thought I would try some of Peet's offerings. The Pu-erh is really excellent (and also pricey at more than $1.20/tuo) but I can't say whether their other teas are any good. The reason is that they brew all teas at the same temperature (212F boiling). This is fine for pu-erh, but makes most other Chinese teas (e.g. oolong) bitter. I would have to buy the tea and brew it myself, which for the prices I am not willing to do. For a place that has "Tea" right in their name they should know better. I got a bit of misinformation at this location--when I asked how many pu-erh bricks come in a tin they said 20. It turns out it is only 16. Moreover, the teas they have out for smelling are all mislabelled and cracked. Again, they need to focus less on crazy caramel peppermint fraps and train their folks on tea. read more

Hmmm, so I see by the reviews I am in the minority with my review. Maybe it was an off day, and I will give Peet's another chance. 2 reasons I went to Peet's. I had a coupon for a chai latte & my friends really like it. To get the latte, I had to buy food. I chose the bagel, unfortunately all they had was sesame. Not my fave, but oh well. Strike 1: Bagel is not toasted. And I asked...apparently they don't have a means to toast. Strike 2: Bagel was like eating cardboard. Now in all fairness, no its not a bagel shop but COME ON ! Even STRBCKS, who has their bagels apparently delivered have soft & chewy ones. Yeesh! Strike 3: It was the sweetest latte I have ever had....I LIKE sweet but this was sickeningly sweet Yes, 3 strikes you are out...however, I will keep my word and try Peet's just one more time & just see if it is me. I've been converted from sbux. I never knew great coffee until Peets and now I am hooked! The flavor is just so much more fresh and better than sbux or coffee bean... Vicki's Iced Havana Cappuccino's are a work of art, no honestly they belong in the Smithsonian. They're a perfect mix of artistry and utility. When her and Alexa are behind the counter in the morning, you know the coffee's going to get done right, the crowd's going to be handled and you can move on to the task at hand...check your emails and get caffeinated. It's hard to understate the importance of a little to TLC to start your day. If you get the chance to swing through Bressi Ranch (maybe you're grabbing something at Trader Joe's), do yourself a favor and pick up a little something for yourself at Peet's. I just want your team to be aware that the Barista Oatmeal that you use is not Gluten Free. I visited your store today and the barista who prepared my decaf oat coffee told me that you do not use any wheat products and that the oat milk was gluten free. She actually checked the box and told me it was GF. I fell ill about 20 minutes later. It would be really nice if you as a company educate your employees on this. The impact that this little mistake has on people is huge. Baristas and general employees need to be trained on this impact and be more concerned about the customers. I you claim that you do not use wheat products, all of your products have to state they are gluten free. I hope I raise awareness with this review. read more

First off the location is really great, close to a main access road, but still tucked away and quite. All the people here are from the neighboring suburban homes so it's full nice friendly family's. While I can appreciate that Starbucks has more locations and decent coffee, I really like stopping here when I want to change things up. Lately I've been getting the coconut iced coffee.. I'm not sure if it's seasonal or not, but it's one of my favorites. Never had any issues with customer service. This is my favorite chain coffee location in San Diego. This Peet's has: (1) excellent mellow classical or light jazz music, the perfect accompaniment to conversation, study, or work; (2) ample indoor and terrific outdoor seating - about 12 tables in sun or share throughout a rose garden; (3) an extremely effective and conscientious manager in Jillian; and (4) a well-powered AC that keeps you nicely cool in the summer months. It also is a new complex - it isn't a converted strip-mall location like the Peet's in Encinitas, La Jolla, and Hillcrest. Like the Encinitas location, this Peet's is adjacent to a Trader Joe's and a supermarket, so you can combine shopping. However, this also has a terrific park next door, with a water fountain, gazebo, etc., excellent for taking the kids or the dog for playtime, or for tossing around a Frisbee. The only drawback would have to be location - Bressi Ranch is about 10 minutes from I-5 at Palomar Airport Road. But if you live or work in the area, it's a great place to go. My Verizon internet card does not work well on my laptop in this location. Wi-fi access is provided by Peet's for one-hour with a code, but I've never been asked to buy another drink to get a fresh code - just ask and ye shall receive! read more
