During my visit, there was a situation where the staff and management did not handle things appropriately, and it made the environment feel unsafe. At a venue like this, there should be a basic level of responsibility to ensure guests are safe, and unfortunately that didn't seem to be the case. There was a clear lack of intervention when it was needed, and it left a bad impression. I hope management takes this seriously and improves how situations are handled moving forward, because this could have easily been avoided. I won't be returning based on this experience. A group of friends, seven total went last night and we got a booth. It was the cheapest bottle, but that's beside the point. In typical club culture, you're able to get a booth and go to the dance floor and back to the booth, so that's what we did. While everyone was in the dance floor, my girlfriend and I went to go sit down at our booth, and the security guard, a short stocky women wearing a hat, decided to have a power trip and kick me out of the booth, the booth we paid for. It's difficult to not take it personal on this review and attack her, but the reasons for her not believing that I had the booth was all too personal. I told her I paid for the booth and she insisted no one had that booth all night long. I was visible upset but I didn't raise my tone, keep in mind, we're at a club and the music is loud, but I did give her some push back because WE PAID FOR THE BOOTH. Then, a taller gentleman decided to support her friend and walked me out of the club. My friends saw the whole situation and we went to the host to complain and explain the situation. Eventually they let us back in, and they admitted their wrong doing. Well the hosts did, not the security guards. She starts off by practically demanding a tip before I even give her my coat. I told her I don't have cash, but if she needed it that bad, I could Venmo her? She declines. They're super strict, and even had the audacity to tell me that my ID was fake! We came to Peek for a bachelorette party and the staff was so unbelievably rude and kicked our group of very tired bachelorettes out after 50 minutes!!. I mentioned tired because we were very low-key and I remember looking around at one point being like wow we're all really sleepy because not a lot of action is happening at our table. There was a good amount of time that we were all sitting and not even dancing. They got mad because occasionally someone would stand on the booth seating and dance. It was SO HARMLESS and everyone that saw us get kicked out was shocked. I've been to some of the best clubs from New York to LA and never in a million years would they have kicked u out for dancing on a couch. Thats what people do when you have a table!!! It felt like they just wanted our table so they could sell it again for the night. They kicked us out after 50 minutes of being there! It wasn't even midnight. The crowd was fun and people were having a good time; the only complaints I have are the extremely overpriced "VIP" booths, the seemingly useless "reentry" line, and the bartending service. It could definitely use some improvement (specifically a Hispanic guy named Ramon). He couldn't seem to be bothered with doing his job, overlooking me and my partner several times to tend to people behind us. Don't care the reason, don't be a dick because you don't like your job. BEST NIGHTCLUB IN TAHOE I've been at Peek Nightclub twice. The first was last year on a Sunday the day before Labor Day. (FYI the only time Peek is open on a Sunday is when Monday is a National Holiday). The second time was last Friday night. Peek Nightclub has an intimate layout where there is only one dance floor. The drinks are decent enough. With different guest DJ's every night good music is played. One thing that's cool about this nightclub is there are female dancers on stage. The crowd is lively yet also outgoing. Peek Nightlife appears to be a popular place for bachelorette party as there were three bachelorette parties last Friday night. We came in for bottle service last Saturday. It was about $450 a bottle with tip. If you consider you don't have to pay the $60 entry fee though, then that takes some of the sting off of price of the bottle service. The two great things about bottle service is this. 1-You get to sit in your own area and don't have to deal with just being on the sweaty dance floor with the crowds, except when you choose to. 2-You can make yourself a drink how you want, when you want, and don't have to wait in line at the bar. Now for those prices, I guess it's somewhat on par with that area. I was honestly surprised at how packed South Lake Tahoe was for well, being South Lake Tahoe. No offense, but it's not Vegas, or even Reno for that matter. The music was good, and they had a couple of other cool things inside the club. The bathroom was outside of the club, and you had to get passed security anytime afterwards after using the bathroom, frisked, metal detector and all. A group of us reserved a VIP table to celebrate a bachelorette party. I was pleasantly surprised by the good service from our bartender and the overall experience. The booth was comfortable and spacious and we had a good amount of space to dance right above the general dance floor without getting bumped or harassed. The resident DJ, Jose Beatz, was good and played a nice variety of early 90s hits, edm, hip hop, and even some mash ups. The negative - the club was REALLY loud. Too loud for comfort. Additionally, the second hand smoke was KILLING ME. I think having smokers light up on the dance floor is a horrible idea. Not to mention, there were cig. burns into the booth. We were accosted by a girl in a VIP booth, and I want to be completely transparent here, she threw our jackets on the ground, and she threw a drink and hit our friend. We called out to security for help and protection. In turn assaulted by security, a guy who I can only assume was on his first night. There is so much to say about this early night injustice, but in my heart of hearts the true take away is that WE WERE NOT PROTECTED. When our group asked security for help, we were assaulted, no questions asked. The GM ignore our additional appeals for help, and laughed us off. Peek Nightclub's Staff will fraudulently overcharge your card in a process they call "Overauthorizing" then present you a receipt to sign in the dark with a dimly lit flashlight in hopes of you not noticing. It goes like this, you'll order a table at an agreed rate (e.g. $1500) then you'll order more than that (e.g. $1600), they'll tack on a gratuity (e.g. $1700), then they'll "Overauthorize" your card (e.g. $1900). You likely won't happen to notice this in the dark loud room but they'll describe it as "discounting your next purchase", when in fact, there was no discount, you were overcharged. If you try to contact Hara's or Peek about this you'll get passed around and never receive a callback. Where there's smoke there's fire (i.e. people that practice business like this, will find any which way to take advantage of you), so I doubt this is the totality of their indiscretions. read more

Extremely tiny place, most of the club space are booths ($2000, really?), and there is barely any space to dance. But what can you expect? It's Lake Tahoe. My friends come to Tahoe at least once a year, and we wanted to give the club a chance. Getting In: We waited about 45 minutes in a single file line on a Saturday night. There were 2 other lines that appeared VIP and re-entry. Security were somewhat nice, you have to show your ID at the 1st security, then get your belongings checked by 2nd security, then pay at the the mini booth ($10 for girls, $20 for guys), then get checked AGAIN with two stamps by the 3rd security. Dress code is okay -- it's not Vegas-style, so they're pretty lenient. Atmosphere/Music: Overall medicore. The DJ when we went was not the greatest. Their transitions were ok, kept switching way too quick from EDM to Hip Hop, and the flow of their set never built up since the songs kept switching. The guys there are incredibly creepy. They are extremely quick to spark up a conversation or grab you. I could feel the stares and the pushing/shoving. No bueno. Drinks: Grab your drinks in the far-right corner! Had no problem with the bartenders. Extremely nice and friendly. Tipped them well. :) BATHROOMS: OKAY this is where I kind of got pissed off. You have to exit the club on the left side to enter the bathrooms, only to GET BACK IN A LINE, have your belongings and stamps checked, and then proceed back inside. People were extremely rude in line, and you didn't know who was in that line or just waiting for their friends in the bathroom. It takes a good 25-30 minutes to get in and get out. Incredibly inconvenient. Overall, would I come back to this club in Tahoe? Meh. Not sure. Maybe I'll just go to Harrah's for the casino portion. read more

As it was just a little after New Years, my boyfriend, a bunch of friends and I all decided to go to Lake Tahoe for a little snowboarding and of course somebody had to offer up the idea of clubbing. This was literally the funniest experience for me because it was just soooo bad. To get into this little club is also so annoying, they really be acting like you're in Vegas or something. One of our friends luckily got us on a guest list so when we arrived, we didn't have to pay.... thank god. Usually when you don't have to pay for things, I feel like they're more enjoyable but this was literally so boring and the music was just whack. I feel like they really tried to accommodate everybody who was in there but to switch from such different music genres and have bad transitions was so annoying. I just feel like you can't go from annoying radio hits to edm to rap music and then regae all within 20 minutes... it's just so inconsistent, ya really just can't get into it at all. I went with five other people and the vibe was just so off that none of us had fun... before we went my boyfriend and I reassured each other that as long as we were with friends, it couldn't be that bad, but it was just unenjoyable overall. I'm not about that rude customer service life, so if you don't mind it for some time dancing to some terrible DJ playing songs, then this might be the place for you. The bouncers wouldn't let one of the girls I was with in because she had her insulin in her bag because she was diabetic. They told her she had to check it at the bell desk. When she got there the manager said she was fine to bring it in because, duh, it's a medical issue to not allow it. As one of the suited up employees told me, you have to know someone to get expedited in for free. Otherwise you have to wait in line and pay $10 for a crappy experience. I've been to clubs in San Diego, Sacramento (which isn't anything special), and New York. This place is trying to be something like that but epically failing. We were in Tahoe for Memorial Day Weekend and decided to club. We contacted VIP services for bottle service, and Coleby was extremely quick in responding and respectful, which is completely different from my experience in Vegas. We ended up getting a dance floor table, which seats about 6-8 comfortably, but can fit 10-12 people. Coleby and Taylor checked us in - make sure to get there early on a busy weekend. They were courteous, fast, and took care of our group. We also received a bundle bottle service deal, which was clutch. The waitress took care of our group and service was quick. We ended up getting 2 tables right on the dance floor, which made the experience unforgettable! The club experience here is similar to clubbing in Vegas, which was impressive. The club fits ~1,000 people or so. Would definitely return here for bottle service based on my experience. read more

I would have never thought that there would be a cracking ass nightclub in Tahoe, but I was wrong. This place is pretty legit. I like that there was plenty of space, and lots of tables for bottle service. I think bottle service prices here is pretty standard, my friends paid $350 for a bottle of Jameson. The DJ when I came was Miles Medina? He was alright. The club was nice, some of the railings needed to be fixed though. Someone could really fall and hurt themselves! The drinks however were kind of weaaaakk. The cups are super small so you'll probably need 3 drinks to even get a buzz. It's loaded with ice.. and not very strong. One of the reasons why I can't give this place a 4 is because the staff wasn't very nice/welcoming. Bartenders were really really rude. Also, when I got in line the guy in the front told us it was $20 for guys and free for ladies but then they charged me $10 so misinformation. So I went back out to the front myself and that's when the 4 stars come in, the assistant manager or manager I totally forgot his name advised me he had one table Left that didn't show up a 1200+ TABLE infront of the DJ. I said YES!!! We will take it!! He. Himself, walked us to our table and was very kind! Bottle service doll comes and is also very friendly and nice ( different girl) we got some bottles and the dj was amazing she was giving us shots and also at one point I went up and took a shot with the DJ I had a blast this is the best club in Tahoe I recommend!! I threw a bachelorette party here as MOH as a request from the bride for it to be in Tahoe. I researched night clubs and this place had the highest rating, maybe because its the newest, along with 6 other bachelorette and maybe even 6 other bachelor parties. Tip, always ask if theres a guest list for any night clubs so you don't have to pay for cover fees at your hotel. Peek opened at 11pm, a bit late. We got there at 11am for the guest list and it was dead. Peek did not pick up until 12:30. The place was definitely small. The entire place is filled with booths. Standing room would be in front of the bar and the dance floor. Seats for those that do not have a booth, no where, they are not important. Booth costs, I was quoted at $500-$1000. Music: House, house, and house. I could not dance to it unless you are a HOUSE LOVER. hip hop started playing around 12:30 but got mixed in with HOUSE when the crowd grew thicker. Crowd: Definitely a higher ratio in men than females. Lots of Caucasian's. Age wise i would say 20-30. Drinks: mixed drinks were $9 in a small plastic cup. Shots not sure. Pricy. I can not say that i would ever go back to that night club again unless there was nothing else to do with no cover charge only. Booths are too expensive, they were 1/4 empty not being bought out. The nightclub itself is dirty. The floors are sticky, even at 10pm! There's straws, paper, and just crap all over the floors. Either it's sticky or slippery from drinks. Don't wear your nice shoes. PEEK exceeded my expectations for Tahoe. I was planning a trip for a big group and decided to put us on the guest list a few weeks in advance. Two days before our trip, I received a text providing instructions. On Saturday night around 11pm, we arrived at Harrah's and navigated our way to PEEK. There were lots of people in line and luckily, the guest list line moved quickly. Within a few minutes, we were inside this huge club. To be honest, the club is too big for Tahoe. Even during a holiday weekend, it never got completely full. I can only imagine how empty it is at other times. The perk of the bathrooms being outside the club is that they have to allow you to exit and reenter and the process was pretty seamless. And compared to the prices we're used to in the Bay Area or Vegas, the drinks were cheap. Overall, we had a good time without having to spend a lot of money. One thing to note is crowd in the club was about 90% guys. If you're a guy looking to meet a lady, good luck! read more

Peek Nightclub is CRAZY! One of the best nightclubs in Tahoe that you can go to. This place is packed with people and there is a good reason why. The night that I went, the DJ played some great music. Mixing all kinds of songs together and it transitioned so well. They have dancers on stage, up stairs, and off to the side near the entrance. My buddies and I got a booth and enjoyed the view of the nightclub. Service for the booth could be a lot better though. The girl didn't really do much serving. She just poured our original drinks and we barely saw her afterwards. They are not organized near the entrance of Peek. We reserved our booth ahead of time and they didn't let us in at all. All the other lines for regular entrance or guest list was flying. I believe that's just wrong because I think if people are willing to spend money on a booth, we should be let in with minimal delay.
