## Terrace Lounge - Our Favorite Hangout at the Peppermill!…read more
Terrace Lounge quickly became our favorite hangout during our stay at the Peppermill Hotel! The Doctor and I had such a great time relaxing here, enjoying drinks, and taking in the atmosphere. I was immediately drawn in by that HUGE light fixture and the cool purple lighting, which gave the lounge a stylish, modern vibe.
Now, the bar itself wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but to be fair, none of the bars at the Peppermill really worked for me because of the built-in slot machines. I'm not a gambler, so that's just not my thing. However, the Terrace Lounge more than made up for it with its comfortable seating and inviting atmosphere.
The décor is lovely, with a combination of sofas, high-back armchairs, traditional bar seating, and high-top tables. We especially liked the high-top tables because they offered a great view of the pool. There's also an outdoor seating area right next to the pool, which would have been wonderful if it hadn't been so windy during our stay!
The lounge has a small stage for live entertainment, and on the evenings we visited, a gentleman was performing cover songs. It was a nice touch that added to the atmosphere without overwhelming conversations.
The service was consistently excellent! We visited several times and had a different server each time, but everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
Now, let's talk about the drinks! I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I decided to venture outside my comfort zone and try the "Let's Get Matching Tattoos" cocktail, made with Grey Goose Essences Strawberry & Lemongrass, house-made lychee syrup, Ruffino Prosecco, fresh strawberry, and a touch of mint. It was refreshing, fruity, and quite enjoyable! Of course, I added a little extra prosecco to mine to give it little more sparkle.
But as some of you may already know, I'm a bubbles woman! LOL! So, after my little cocktail adventure, I happily returned to my beloved sparkling wine and enjoyed the **Gruet Brut from New Mexico (BIN #63)**.
One thing that really impressed me was the whiskey and bourbon selection. And when I say impressive, I mean IMPRESSIVE! They also offer whiskey and beer flights, which I love because they allow you to sample different flavor profiles without committing to a full pour.
The Terrace Lounge has a limited food menu, which I believe is supplied by Biscotti's next door. The Prime Rib Sliders were good, but I really wish they would add Biscotti's **Burger Bites** to the menu! Those four little Certified Angus Beef sliders on Hawaiian buns with white American cheese and a pickle spear were delicious and would be a perfect addition.
Since this is Reno, smoking is permitted, but during our visits, the only people I noticed smoking were seated outside near the pool. Thankfully, it wasn't an issue for us while sitting inside.
And let's not forget **HAPPY HOUR!** They offer some very reasonable prices on cocktails and wines by the glass, making it an even better spot to unwind.
What started as a place to stop for a quick drink became one of our favorite spots at the Peppermill. Between the comfortable seating, pool views, live music, impressive drink selection, and friendly service, Terrace Lounge had just about everything we wanted in a relaxing hotel lounge.
Sure, I could do without the slot machines at the bar, and a few more food options would be nice (hint, hint...those Burger Bites!), but neither would keep us from returning.
Would we come back? Absolutely! Next time we're at the Peppermill, I already know where you'll find the Doctor and me, at one of those high-top tables overlooking the pool, enjoying a little music and, of course, a glass of bubbles!
