I got a section for my birthday and it was a good time. It's so cool and unique that there is a pool in the middle of the night club. July 6th at LEX Nightclub with Rick Ross the Boss! What better way to celebrate my birthday and Lex's 10th year anniversary! Upon arrival my friend and I were debating on either the Crystal lounge or Lex Nightclub. While enjoying a cocktail plus a shot we overheard that RickRoss is performing tonight! No question, no brainer Lex it is. It was our lucky evening! Waiting to be escorted to our VIP on table we were concerned on what alcoholic beverage to select. We made a decision and picked our poison, A little Irish whisky for the night it is! Vince was our VIP host and was able to pull some strings and upgraded our section to one close up to the stage where the Boss was set to perform. Feeling really nice on how our host treated us, we entered the event . Thank you Vince! A true player in the game that represents the company with greatness! A little buzzed I am now mesmerized by countless beautiful females towards our section! Wow, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a curtain dancer right above our vip booth in the air performing. Not too long after that I see Fire dancers playing with flames inside the swimming pool. What a venue, what a night! Bottle service is now coming towards us with all the bells and whistles to enhance our experience. Bar backs sets the table quickly and then flashing lights fill the scene with a huge Happy Birthday Sign being waved by 2 gorgeous Cocktail waitresses. Awesome!!!! The DJ was playing all the best club bangers back to back to back! The crowd is hyped while security stayed tight! And then, Rick Ross the Boss comes through after much anticipation. The club is going wild as he recites hit after hit! I never seen Rick Ross perform live and was blown away by his stage presence and performance. A real artistic master. Let the after party begin! After his performance we took a GsR limo to The Peppermint Hippo! Wow now that's another review I'll have to spend time on. Check them out ladies and Gents. it was my 21st birthday and my first time ever going to a club, the bartender gave me a free drink for my birthday and that's the only reason it's not 1star, me and my friend were just dancing having a good time. every time we were dancing one of the security guards would make us move to different areas. there was no one there but us, we were not intoxicated we both had one drink and that was it, after my friend accidentally dropped her drink, only a small bit was left they called security and escorted us out. we were not intoxicated, we were not causing a disturbance, we were being respectful and were dancing and talking. seems like they don't like their customers to have a good time . some 21st birthday . Hard to decipher how to really review when I've been here so many different times. As Lex had their grand 10 year celebration, I realized that throughout the last 10 years this used to be my "old stomping grounds" and I was super excited for the performance of Rick Ross! A few friends and I bought tickets and being a "girls night out" long time since forever, I was so looking forward to it. But upon approaching the line with prepaid tickets, it almost felt like (what I would imagine) a prison line. "Go here, go there." But the kicker for me was the new policy on purses, I know the Grand Theater has a clear bag policy but for some reason my "dressy" purse was outside of their size limitation and I either had to check it in my room (wasn't staying at the hotel) or check it in with the front desk. So basically I had to empty my ID and cards and bother a friend to store this for me throughout the night. I don't remember this being highlighted on their website but who knows. Some of the security had strong unfriendly attitudes which weren't necessary. But once we got through all of the hoops the rest of the night was great. Drinks are expensive (as usual) but the crowd was good and so was the performances which was about 1:30 a.m. or so. I love the VIP vibe with the lights and flares and being the center of attention. This night club looks really nice. My VIP tickets came included with my show tickets (Toni Braxton) and some free drink vouchers. The VIP line is separate from general admission, so if you have to check in a jacket, you'll need to do that prior to standing in line or once you go in you'll have to go back out and check it in for $5. There are 3 bars inside, a swimming pool that nobody got into, and lots of table/bottle service seats. A small dancefloor and nice bathrooms. The decor made me feel like I was in Vegas. The bartenders didn't want to accept my drink vouchers, the ladies didn't, smacked lips and asking for money made me upset internally but I kept my composure. I think they made my margaritas with vodka because I got sick before naughty by nature came on and we had to leave. read more

I also wanted to add that their drinks are WAY overpriced charging $12 for a Jack and Coke or a Fuzzy Navel (not to mention two bartenders that I have ordered that from have never heard of it and didn't know how to make it. It is sad, that a casino, located in Reno, Nevada, which has numerous ways to advertise events and such simply doesn't. This is what happened with our country dance nights. Many of us couldn't afford to purchase drinks and simply drank water. Paying $24 for two (2) "well" drinks (at least they were considered that a few years ago when my other country bar was open) is outrageous and most likely contributed to Lex's decision to cancel our country dance nights on Thursday nights. When it all started last year, we had a DJ, a fantastic one, named Nick, and we had a couple of professional girls that actually KNEW the dances we were doing so they could help draw customers off the casino floor. Well, that stopped...the DJ was told not to come and then the girls were told not to bother coming. They did have a couple of other scantily dressed girls show up upon occasion after this who did nothing but stand around and attempt to draw customers inside, but that isn't what the country dance scene is about. As a real cowgirl, I don't dress in cut off shorts, boots, and crop tops with heavy makeup on. I wear Wrangler jeans, boots, and either a nice t-shirt, tank top, or blouse (depending upon the weather). It is just sad that a place, like the GSR (Grand Sierra Resort) and their "nightclub" Lex, could take the time or a tiny bit of money out of their thousands of dollars they make every day, to advertise a FANTASTIC, STAR RATED #1 DANCE INSTRUCTOR named Vaquera Vikki and instead relied on her, her friends and family to "get the word out". This is why usually only us "regulars" showed up to dance and couldn't afford to purchase any of their drinks. All we wanted to do was take a lesson, enjoy friends, and dance our butts off. Super weird that they only open the "lounge" and there's no advance notice of it on the website, social media, or even when we were placed on the guest list... I wouldn't hesitate to call that a scam. We had a large group of people ready to spend money for our friend's bday and enjoy Lex after not having gone for a few years and it ended up being a complete waste of time and gas. The employees we asked for clarification were so rude too, I'm sure it's not fun for them either to have to deal with mislead customers. We ended up going to Novi in the Eldorado which I'd recommend instead of Lex because of this. read more

I've been to Lex a handful times before; once, for example, was for when Steve Aoki came to play there. But last night we were celebrating my friend Chelsea's and my birthday! Our friend's planned it so that we would take a weekend to celebrate both of our birthdays. They got us bottle service and I personally love bottle service. If you're going to be spending money on expensive drinks at the bar, might as well dish out for bottles. For me, I like having a place to sit and to enjoy the night with your friends. It's also nice to be able to leave the booth to dance and then return when you need a break. With that being said, our group arrived to the Grand Sierra Resort and waited patiently in line. We met up with our promoter, Dex, who proficiently got us situated. After taking a couple of pictures in front of the Lex board, we went through the pat down process and then made our way to our table. I didn't catch her name, but our hostess took good care of us from the beginning and all throughout the night. The venue is nice with a pretty wide dance floor. Disappointing first time experience. We bought tickets to see The Weekend perform, but he flaked. Not the club's fault, but they tried to make up for it and failed. They tried to do damage control by allowing ticket purchasers free admission to the club - they had Jayceeoh DJ the night away, but it sucked. There was one point where he was trying to switch the song and it got stuck / stalled. I added a video of it; before the clip starts, it was going on for at least 1 minute. Lol. This is my favorite club in Reno, and for many reasons. Entrance: The price is relatively cheap, $20 to see famous artists perform a few of their famous songs! Can't beat that! And, we get to be pretty up close to them compared to watching them at an actual concert. Guests: This is the only nightclub in Reno that actually brings in the big name celebs from Steve Aoki, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, and many more! Music: They play a mix of everything from house music to old school rap, modern hits and classics to accommodate all generations. Venue: The inside of the club is gorgeous and almost feels like you're in a Vegas club! There's plenty of space, a pool, a center stage, 3 bars, and stadium style VIP booths. Basically, I always love coming here. The dress code isn't strict, employees are friendly, entrance is cheap, and the club looks grand. The venue is new and it is pretty. It has a pool inside. It checks the boxes, I guess. I don't see it being used like a pool party though. I've been here three times. Table service is the way to go if you're going on a busy night because there will be no space to move. And the girls who bring the drinks to the table are pretty... The big complaint is coming here to watch the UFC fight. There is a bar near the entrance and that bar has horrible stool seats. They angle down so that you're going to slide off the seat. Very uncomfortable. Why are those stools being used? I don't drink beer and I will definitely not drink beer from a can! Well... this is what they serve here -- canned beer. Around $6 for beer. That's not beer on tap or beer in a bottle. $6 for a can of beer. Maybe glass is not safe since there is a pool, but taking selfie with a can at a club is not right either. Jk but it is tacky. (To compare: Around $3 in the casino and 5 for $20 @ the pool cabana for the same canned beer). They have a full bar but the cans stood out. Oh and few of the TVs shut off every 3 mins during the UFC fight. There were no instructions on how to get admission or how to get into the club but after waiting 45 mins on the guest list- would have rather paid GA to just go in. It was mainly all hip hop/ pop music for NYE. Very disappointing. We wanted edm. Dj only played a couple of edm songs in the beginning. We paid $50 per person on the website. It is however a nice looking club like Vegas. There is a pool in the middle of the club. We all wondered how many people fell in when they are drunk. Just glad i wasn't one of them haha. Came here on a Saturday to see Waka Flocka, had the hookup so didn't pay but I think the cover/ticket was about $35. Came around 10pm, line was significant in the halls of GSR (this club is in the casino). If you have any chance to get in with the VIP line, do it, it's so much shorter (sorry if this paragraph sounds very pretentious lol I have a good friend who works in PR and being her roommate has perks). I do like that Reno has small venues like this where we can see pretty big performers. Don't expect your headliner to come out until like literally 1 am. Waka Flocka didn't come on until 1/1:30am and I was already so tired/turnt by then. This club is surprisingly very large inside. The bar area is kind of farther away from the dance floor so it's a decent place to sit and chill if you're trying to get away from the crowd for a bit (I didn't have to wait long every time I came here). The one thing I don't like about LEX is that they charge like $4 for a tiny bottle of Aquafina, I appreciate when bars and clubs give free waters in plastic cups, like come on your girl is just trying to stay hydrated here! It's full enough where you feel like there's a significant critical mass and people are here to party, but not so crowded where there's not enough space (well, when Waka came out to shake his dreads it got pretty crazy haha). Bathrooms are as clean as you would expect at a club. Pro: currently they're doing ladies nights on Thurs with all you can drink champagne. I can appreciate that. read more

On Friday night at around 630pm, they offer an hour free dance lesson. We learned the Bachata. There must have been 20+ people. The instructor knew how to teach and engage all of us to participate and have fun. Everybody moved to new partners so it was nice to meet new people. Go for the happy hour comedy on Friday night even if you aren't a night club person! We have gone to Pioneer Underground for comedy about once a month or more for years, and tonight tried the "happy hour" comedy show. Same great headliner as underground, but Lex is a much nicer, more intimate space that they have done a great job making work for comedy. With the raised stage, there really isn't a bad seat in the house from what we could tell. Only $10 bucks a person and drink prices are about the same as underground with a much better selection, and service at your seat! The People or the Place? I've come here multiple times: once for a DJ Snoop Dog concert, once for Halloween, and another time I grabbed a table for bottle service with a friend. On my last visit I went here with my girlfriend to a enjoy a night out at the Nelly show. There were hordes of guys that had no class. Just because you buy a bottle of cologne at the gas station and find a nice shirt at Ross doesn't mean your entitled to be a pig. Time after time guys would grope and sexually harass my girlfriend. Grabbing her ass and even going as far as reaching up her dress! WTF !! NOT COOL !!! Security is made up of a bunch of meat heads that don't do anything but throw out people they think are too intoxicated to keep buying drinks. At one point as I was walking to the restroom I was shoved by an unknown assailant. I ended up falling very hard and injuring my tail bone. So God dam painful! Because of the pain I had a very hard time getting up. Security saw me on the ground and assumed I was just another intoxicated guy. They told their fellow security minion I was "done" and instead of offering any medical assistance just told me to get up and 86'd me from the venue. Last time I go to this shit hole. read more

Was super excited to see Ne-Yo on March 25th, 2023 but after this experience I am never going back to LEX. First of all, we had to wait 3 1/2 hours for Ne-Yo to come on stage so it wasn't until 2:00-2:30am where he actually performed. And when he finally did perform, it was only for 20-30 minutes. The drinks (including just water) are also insanely expensive. I would love to get my money back, not worth the money and not worth the hype. read more

Not sure if they were on their best behavior because of the influx of Fantasies in Chocolate people coming out for the afterparty, or if they have just righted the ship that was off course or what. But my experience at Lex Nightclub was just fine. We didn't have bottle service or anything special. We had some free tickets because of going to Fantasies in Chocolate so we expected to go in, check out the place and then head out. But instead we stayed for about an hour. I did my white man overbite shuffle and then let my wife tear up the dance floor looking smoking hot and happy. Nothing makes a man happier than seeing his wife enjoying herself. We didn't get any drinks because we knew we would be driving soon enough, but I did get a few waters and the bar staff was super friendly and helpful and hardworking. The place wasn't slammed, so that may have been part of it. But the price for a vodka tonic my friend bought wasn't shocking considering the venue. $11. The music had a decent blend to please most. Even some of the remixes and mashups of the current songs were really cool. The hip hop did NOT please me, but I know it pleases others so it's cool just as long as it's got a good balance of other musical styles. This by far is the best club for decor in Reno. Large floor that can handle the crowds. Too many of the other clubs in town are sardine cans. I will say the music did seem a little loud for me, but my birthday puts me in my mid 40's maybe I am just an old fart that can't handle loud as much as I used to. But at least that's a good warning to the other old farts that might be heading to "da club". After doing this trial run, I'm pretty sure we will be heading back down to Lex in the future...my only concern is the dress code. This time I was in a Tux, next time I don't know if my closet can make the grade. Oh, and one last heads up, if your relationship has an insecure woman in it, this might not be the best club to hit up. There is guy "eyecandy" up on platforms everywhere. The concert and performance by Marshmello was great. This rating represents the club and its staff/policies. We showed up at 10. The line was all the way put the door of the casino. The process of getting in was slow and disorganized. Once we got in, the club was already hot and stuff. The absolutely pointless Pool took up half of the club space and made the room humid and stinky. The bartenders were rude and slow. They weren't even that busy and it was the start of the night. HERE'S THE KICKER: They refuse to give their drunk patrons ice water. They will sell you overpriced bottled water. Add to it that a number of EDM concert goers were probably on Molly or E, it is incredibly dangerous to deny people water. As someone who has kidney issues, drinking and sweating can cause me a lot of pain and difficulties. I can't bring water in through security. This club needs to reevaluate its policies for health, safety, and liability purposes. read more

So my review might be different since i came here during "Lex goes Country" totally different different then let say... seeing a DJ playing EDM here. The nightclub is very nice and very spacious but when i was there it didnt seem like there was alot of people, and i've been to more then a few nightclubs before. The crowd seemed older and the dance floor was filled with people square dancing *I think not too sure they were all in sync dancing to country* but, it didnt feel like the right place. The lighting was dim and the country vibe felt off.. lots of people standing to the side drinking. Came to see A-trak Saturday night. He put on an amazing show, but the rock music he switched to (which I completely LOVED!) almost started a brawl between my group (mix of guys & girls) & another behind us(guys & 1 or 2girls) who ALL night kept pushing into us even after asking politely to stop. I have to really thank security for being on them and getting them out of there. They weren't just annoying us, but everyone around them. 5 stars for entertainment and security being on top of their game! Drinks on the other hand.. Pricey as hell for receiving our drinks with 1% liquor to none. Drinks from the front bar: -My crown & coke was just coke. No lie! I literally watched the bartender walk ALL the way to the other side of the bar to make my drink & not once did he pick up a crown bottle or ANY liquor bottle to mix into my drink. Just soda! He came back and said "that'll be $14." When I told him that I watched his ass the entire time of making my drink, he got mad & walked off. I've been to Lex a few times, thanks to Ronille and James! They both hooked it up with the guest list and Ronille even gave me pointers on getting our group in the quickest way possible. The soft opening line was crazy long, took an hour and a half to get through, but once I stepped into the club, I knew it would be worth the wait every time! The bartenders were kinda slow at first, but have really pulled their acts together, and are now pretty quick, even though they are surrounded by customers constantly. I see all of the bad things written in reviews about the VIP/bottle service, but anytime I have been invited to someone's table, they seem to be enjoying themselves and I've NEVER heard a complaint from the patrons I've partied with. I went to Las Vegas for the first time two months ago, getting the VIP treatment three nights in a row, and I have to say that Lex is comparable, but has WAY cheaper drinks and the employees make it easier to get in. I'm so glad that Reno finally has a real club, with awesome music. Can't wait to see Tommy Lee there on Friday for my best friend's birthday. Had a great time at Lex over the weekend. We had a table/bottle service and the hostess was very accommodating. A couple dancers also came by our table several times dancing with Happy Birthday signs ( we were celebrating a friend's bday). There's a pool in the middle of the club that was blocked off the night we went. There was an Instagram booth and a big screen/backdrop to take photos. The DJ played mostly top 40 that night. First time here and we saw Lil Jon. HANDS DOWN THE BEST CLUB EXPERIENCE for me! That says a lot especially since we've partied in Vegas! This definitely felt like Vegas, but everything was on point the entire time (music, lights, sound system, etc.)! We usually leave each Vegas club after and hour or so but we didn't want to leave club Lex. ;) There was a champagne shower and they made it rain dollar bills! Who wouldn't love that?! They even gave out glow sticks! (Or light sticks I guess?) So much fun! Negatives: -Lines were a little unorganized to me and we waited way too long for someone who prepaid for tickets. We also saw girls pay the bouncer to get in the front of the line. -My vodka/cran tasted more like cranberry (not much alcohol) I will definitely be returning to club Lex! Especially since I need to see how the club is WITHOUT Lil Jon being there. Lol. read more
