Just take your dog with you. We've been to several Caesars resorts, and by far Nevada resorts are the most dog friendly. California and Colorado are not dog friendly. As far as dog friendly goes, there are several green areas for your dog to go to the restroom. If you exit the lobby, it's right on your left and there are two patches across from each other as well as a very small dog relief area that is gated. If you're looking to get a workout in this is probably one of the more impressive gyms you'll encounter. They have two full squat racks. Not Smith machines, squat racks. They also have TRX, cable machines, free weights, medicine, balls, and a dedicated restroom to that space. The gym is also very clean and is across from the pool on the CC floor. As far as customer service goes, we didn't have any issues, but we're very rarely needing any assistance. Check-in was smooth and it might be because we are diamond plus so we get a separate check-in counter. Hells kitchen is a great place to grab a dessert, and I recommend the sticky toffee pudding. We ate it right on the casino floor and played video poker. There are a ton of dogs that stay here so just keep that in mind if you are traveling with your pup there at least 3 to 4 dogs in the casino floor at a time and many will pass you. Tahoe itself is a really big dog friendly spot. Subtracting one star because the pet fee is a little ridiculous compared to all of the other dog friendly places. Especially for the fact that we have to get into the elevator and go down stairs to a relief area. Other resorts like the Coachman, you can just leave your door and it's there. Just keep that in mind as your pricing things out and weighing convenience.

Someone also needs to work on the landscape as it's over run by weeds. The room is dated. We do like it for the size and location. It doesn't have an odd smell to it. It doesn't smell old or stale so that is good. It is a very good size room. The 2 queen option was cheaper then the king do we got it. The downside of the room is they don't have a loveseat or couch to sit and watch tv. They do have a single desk chair. The gym is good, we didn't use it, but it is a good size and many pieces of equipment. They even have a recumbent bike which my husband loves. They have one restaurant on site. A diner of sorts that serves all day long. Including bottomless mimosas for brunch, happy hour tacos, and a special $19.99 or approximately priced prime rib dinners. We've eaten there. Nothing special, but works. For us location really matters. We want to be close to the Heavenly village and South of North.

On top of that, they charge a $25 parking fee, an additional resort fee, and the casino slots felt extremely tight. To make matters worse, the elevator wasn't working, which made getting around the property even more frustrating. When you're already paying resort and parking fees, you expect better service, functioning facilities, and an overall experience that feels worth the money. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. Overall, very disappointing and not a place I would be in a hurry to return to.

We have only been in one one unremodeled room in the last 3 years. I wouldn't recommend staying in one of those rooms, but the newly remodeled sunset Tower is very nice. The Golden Nugget doesn't have a lot of amenities, but it is well located within the South lake Tahoe casino area. It is within walking distance of every restaurant and casino that you want to go to. We go to lake Tahoe to bike. The Golden Nugget is a great location to start a bike ride. You can leave right from the parking lot and go at least 30 miles on trails around up to camp. Richardson, Tallac, Baldwin Beach, fallen, leaf lake, etc. It makes for a great day of riding. It's also fairly simple to drive to incline village and do several rides there and to ride the Truckee River trail out of Tahoe City. The Golden Nugget doesn't have a lot of restaurants in it, but it does have salt grass steakhouse, which is a solid restaurant. I will continue to stay at Golden Nugget as long as their prices are reasonable.
