Dined at Pecado recently for a spontaneous date and had an absolutely phenomenal dinner. It was a Friday night and the place was definitely buzzing. I really loved the guac and chips... so darn fresh and addicting. For entres, my date and I shared the chicken quesadilla and the steak fajitas. The fajitas came so sizzling that you could hear it from several tables away.. just how I like it! The staff were definitely working hard, our empty plates were cleared within moments and our waters were constantly being topped off. We even got a chance to meet the owner, who was doing his rounds at each table. I love when I see managers and owners interacting with guests.. truly a sign of a great restaurant who cares about their guests. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm out in Bay Shore! read more

Went here for dinner on new years and were able to get a last minute reservation which was cool. It's a nice looking place with a good amount of tables. Service was fast and the food was good. It's kind of expensive though, normally we would get an appetizer but decided to just get some drinks and tacos. This experience left an indelible mark on my taste buds, and for the family I brought here. The ambiance was inviting, with warm lighting and tasteful decor that set the stage for a memorable evening. I ordered a dish that served 2-3 people, and it was plenty. Shrimp, steak, sausages, and chicken were all so very tasteful. I would come here to buy a to go tray for sure! The taste was plentiful, the portions were perfect, and the atmosphere was exactly peaceful to celebrate a small birthday for the night. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff providing recommendations and ensuring a seamless dining experience. They were very accommodating and offered everything on the menu. The dessert to end the night was perfect, Flan and an order of churros. Everything was a perfect bite! Heavenly! So having staff that was attentive and patient was a bonus as first time diners here. Pecado is a culinary gem, blending exquisite flavors, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience in Bayshore. Bayshore has really changed over the years with great options for dining. We dined at Pecado last night and loved every minute. Great service from the time you sit down (measured partly by the tortilla chips on the table before you even settle in) all the way through dessert! The homemade guacamole was awesome and arrived at the same time as our margaritas, timing is everything! For appetizers we had the plantains smothered in Mexican cheese and topped off with some chorizo, nice combo! Also had the special watermelon salad with a bit of mint and cheese. For mains there were carne tacos and some terrific chicken mole, all delicious. To close it out, a must have dessert of churros with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce, bravo!!! I'm going to need to sit down for this review. Oh boy. Where do I even start?? We found this restaurant on a whim on a random Friday evening and safe to say we were blown away. I'm not sure if this is a new restaurant in the area or not. If it has been in the area for a while, then I have definitely been sleeping on it!! First, you have to check out their website. It hints at how nice this place is and the vibes you'll experience. From the location to the staff to the food, it is definitely a restaurant you must try if you are looking for Mexican food in the bay shore area. Food 5/5 You get to your table and are immediately met with a basket of chips and salsa that you'll inevitably devour as you're probably very excited to start eating. We ordered a couple drinks . You have to try the Sage of Jalisco. The presentation of the drink is well worth it alone. Of course, it also tastes great too. The Paloma is also very good, but not as great as the Sage of Jalisco. We ordered the tostada and the enchiladas to share between the two of us. The tostados was tasty, but nothing out of this world. It was a decent portion size and nice to share. We also ordered spicy guacamole which also tasted very good and packs a nice amount of heat for our taste buds. The enchiladas can definitely be passed. I wasn't impressed and the waitress had even warned us, but I didn't listen. She recommended the Chile relleno, which I will try next time I go. The enchiladas just didn't taste all that good and for $20, definitely not worth it. Service 5/5 Excellent service from the minute we walked in to leaving. We were seated relatively quickly on a busy Friday evening. Our waitress gave us very honest recommendations and listened to our modifications to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Ambience 5/5 Very romantic vibes. It's dimly lit as you can see from the pictures. The noise level is about average depending on when you go. The bar is beautiful. I don't like leaving bad reviews but here we go! What to expect? Loud music and overly priced food. I came around the area to visit and I'm disappointed by this, I ordered my drink and there was a bug in it. Disappointed but I didn't let it ruin the day yet and decided to order margaritas. Another item that is also overpriced. Server didn't check up on us after our meal but came back and dropped our check so I didn't order dessert...I had high hopes about this place but the food portions and the prices were insane to me. Have been going to Pecado for quite some time. Have never had a problem with the food, drinks or staff! Last night went with a group of friends (6 people) ordered drinks and apps at first. We were served chips and salsa while waiting for our drinks. Apps came out and we put in our dinner orders. Few minutes after that waitress comes over to us and says we have a no hat policy. Two of us were indeed wearing baseball caps one of them being myself. I absolutely would have taken the hat off when we were seated, if someone told me this policy prior or would have maybe chosen to go to a different establishment. My hair was a mess and I simply refused to take my hat off. I asked to speak to manager and say that this was a ridiculous request after we already had drinks and apps and no one said anything during all of that. I cancelled my dinner order and asked to pay the bill. Manager was nice to not charge the apps. We paid and left a tip and proceeded to another restaurant. I just want to say this was a Monday night around 8pm. Restaurant was very empty. My complaint is with management or hostess for not saying anything prior to all of this happening. It saddens me that I will not be coming back to this restaurant, especially since it was one of my favorites in Bayshore. You can simply do better! I'll go back to Verde in the future. read more

Just had brunch here today. OMG. Absolutely delicious (forgot to take pictures). We had the yuca fries. yummmmm. My husband had the fruit salad and I had the huevos rancheros (without the chorizo hash since we're vegetarian). Mimosa was perfect. Just the best! Coolest vibes in a very clean updated restaurant on Main Street. Their ceviche is so fresh and flavorful! I've had the ceviche verde and the ceviche de camaron. Both delicious! I love it with the plantain chips. Their steak is better than a lot of steak houses on Long Island so definitely order it. Whether you're doing the meal or steak tacos just do it & get a side of plantains too! Wash it all down with their spicy or mango margaritas with tajin rim. Drooling now. Simply delicious. Unfortunately I don't have any photos to share, because the food was just so amazing. My group and I relished in every bite, and we just couldn't stop talking about the flavors as we ate, along with how everything was cooked, and how fresh it was. Four of us shared four different type of tacos (of which you get 3 each!) As someone who doesn't eat meat, I so much appreciate the many vegetarian options. Even my meat-eating friends enjoyed the vegetarian tacos, with some of them being their favorites. I personally couldn't decide if I liked the roasted mushroom taco or the cauliflower taco more, both were so incredible. The plantain side was amazing. Cooked perfectly, soft, and crispy outside. The mango salad was fresh and full of interesting ingredients. Overall we loved our meal and will absolutely be back! read more

I was excited to try this place but was extremely disappointed in a lot of aspects. The food was salty, the manager was kind of rude and stand-off ish after I asked about food that was taken off my table and it just seemed like he was an I don't care type of guy . The entire experience was just not the best for me and for the price I paid to not even eat more than half my food, I could get better everything else anywhere else. The server was very kind and helpful and was probably the best part of the place. I won't be returning here ever again personally but your experience could be better than mine. The place is nice but the food wasn't that great. We had the barbacoa tostadas which was good. For dinner we had birria tacos and the pork house special. I hate to say but the birria tacos were not good at all. The tacos are supposed to be nice and crispy and it was soggy I couldn't even hold them. My husband said his pork dish was just ok. My husbands drink was good and the service and ambiance is nice but unfortunately would not return due to the food. read more

I love a good shrimp taco and this place delivered. I was a little annoyed at first because I ordered a Pineapple Jarrito , and they didn't have it. My friend ordered an appetizer and they also didn't have it. It's not a good first impression when waitress keeps coming back that they don't have something more than once. This place has been on my radar for a few weeks. I've been wanting to go as it's down the road from my job, but they aren't open during lunch. Thursdays are my late day, so I decided to pop in for dinner. When I walked in the hostess was a bit confused when I asked for a table for one. But sat me shortly after, Complimentary chips and salsa was brought out within minutes after I sat down. Chips were a little salty. Salsa was tasty. I ordered shrimp tacos for my meal. They consisted of marinated shrimp, cabbage slaw, chipotle aioli, avocado and pickled onions all served in a corn tortilla. The tacos were delicious! Generous portion of shrimp in each taco. The shrimp had a nice sear. I was very pleased the tacos were served on a corn tortilla. I was surprised yet satisfied that the corn tortillas weren't doubled as that's how corn tortilla tacos are normally served. Service was great. A very filling and yummy dinner! I wish I knew this was a very loud bar before I came with my family. The food was good and the servers were very kind and helpful. The area itself was pretty but I wish the dining area was not so close to the DJ/bar since it was quite an awkward setting arrangement. The only thing with the food was that it was too expensive for what it was worth, although the presentation was beautiful, but it was very like "food you can get at qdoba or chipotle" but fancier. Unfortunately for mexican food i would not come again although their chips and salsa that they gave the table was REALLY good. There is always great music on and the drinks are strong! Place does get loud though, so be mindful of the day and time u try to pop on in here. From the moment we walked in, Brianna greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. I have to start with a shout out to the staff. Everyone I interacted with was exceptionally nice and went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. My friend and I sat in the back next to the beautiful tree which added a nice touch to the ambiance. For drinks I went with the Christmas margarita and coquito. Both were tasty. We split the plantanos with chorizo and mild guacamole. No frills on the guac but still good. Plantanos was probably the best I've ever had. I went with the vegetarian enchiladas for my entree and loved them. Everything was so flavorful and filling, I brought half the enchiladas home. Wow. What an incredible meal... I am just at a loss of words at how amazing this Mexican restaurant in bay shore is. Not only did they have good food, their service was impeccable. The restaurant itself had a modern vibe incorporating some Mexican touches. I ordered a mojito which had so much fresh mint, and my mom ordered the clarified margarita with black volcanic salt. For appetizers, we ordered their famous plátanos con chorizo. I was hesitant about ordering this, since I saw so many others ordered this, but this might have been my favorite dish out of everything we ordered. This is saying a lot because I absolutely love plantains, and did you see that cheese pull? We also ordered the ceviche de camaron which was so refreshing and fresh. As our entree, we had the carne asada. I didn't think the food could get better after the appetizers, but I was wrong. That skirt steak was perfectly tender and juicy and their chimichurri sauce was perfection. The yucca fries were also so crispy and delicious. For dessert we had to get both the churros and the coconut tres leches cake. We were too full to finish, but that had to have been the best tres leches cake I've ever had. It was so moist and not too sweet, which I loved. The churros were stuffed with chocolate and caramel I believe, and they were the perfect texture. All the food was homemade, including the desserts, by Chef Catalina and we had the pleasure of being served by Eduardo, who made our delicious cocktails. My food was ok. I just ordered the guacamole and wings so I wasn't drinking on an empty stomach. Drinks were very good. I had the coconut margarita and the pineapple margarita. While both were really good. I especially enjoyed the pineapple and its sweeter taste. The ambience was amazing. Very chic and sexy with Hispanic spiritual undertones. Our service was just ok. The server didn't seem confident in her recommendations but she was friendly. I wish she had been more attentive in asking how our experience was but overall she did her job. We got take out from this place when I was hospitalized for complications of my stage IV cancer. Being in the hospital, you can get tired of the food. My brother and sister in law brought me the tortilla soup, guacamole, and quesadillas. They got a burrito and a bowl. They are vegans but they were able to find something that met their needs. Pecado has all the decor and atmospheric inviting feeling when you first walk in. It is thoughtfully decorated with sugar skull portraits on the tv screens and greenery in the main dining area to give a moody feel. The staff overall is very nice. Happy to great and talk to customers. Our server was Eric and he did a great job checking to make sure we were doing good throughout our time there. First let's get to the drinks. The red sangria is made a more traditional way where they also add a little bit of brandy in addition to the usual red wine and fruits mix. The brandy gives a full bodied feel and definitely brings a unique rounding mellowing the flavor to the usually sweet drink. My husband also enjoyed his pineapple mojito. The pricing of the cocktails are about $14. One thing I wished they did have was a book of pricing out tequila shots and other shots of liquor. It would make it easier for the customer and the bartenders to make the selling smoother. For starters we tried the queso fundido which was a mix of Mexican cheeses, chorizo, poblano peppers and onions served with corn tortillas. The flavor of the dip was super tasty and the blend of the cheese, chorizo and poblanos brought just enough heat. The corn tortillas were soft and cut into triangles. The tortillas were cut on the small side and it's soft form also made it a bit difficult to spoon on and eat. I think if they had chosen a larger triangle and fried the tortilla into chips, it would improve it greatly by also giving a contrast of texture. For my main I got the pollo de mole which was a half roasted chicken with a savory mole sauce served with rice and plantains (two ways). It was a good overall, but I felt the mole was just under perfection. I usually prefer the mole to be slightly more thicker and a bit more sesame flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sweet plantains complimented the dish very well. My husband got the steak tacos which he enjoyed a lot. For the end of the meal we went with the churros which the center of the sticks were filled with dulce de leche and was served with a side chocolate sauce. We both loved the dessert. If I were to tweak one thing it's the chocolate sauce. Being that it's a Mexican restaurant I think of the chocolate sauce was mixed with a little bit of chili and cinnamon to make it a spicy chocolate sauce it can give a nice contrast to the sweetness of the dish. We definitely want to try to come back for brunch next time since we heard it's pretty good. Parking situation is that you can choose to park on the street or use one of the municipal lots behind the businesses. The town of Bay Shore does require payment for the spots, so make sure you can locate a working pay station since sometimes the pay stations can be out of order. read more

Oh man, what a great taste! This place was off the hook and a restaurant I highly recommend. The pork I had was unlike any other; the taste was wonderfully tasty and the rice (yes, I'm praising rice) was a perfect companion. My daughter said about her chicken burrito bowl she ordered that part of what made it was the sauce. I have to agree on that the sauces were amazing. I mean... I had a green, I'm assuming avocado sauce that I believe was not made on site... it was summoned from the heavens! Yes, this thing was brilliant and the good news was that it had left overs so I'll be doubling down on "god damn" tomorrow! I recommend you check them out if you have not. You'll not regret it. Here we go, To my Yelp family you want great Mexican food go to this restaurant. I have to start with four words to describe this restaurant including service. Amazing, Awesome, excellent, enjoyable. There were so many new restaurants on Main Street in Bayshore to choose from ,but this restaurant stood out at me. As I entered I noticed the vibe was great. I was immediately approached by the manager Ian which was very friendly and most of all funny. He introduced himself with a huge smile , which was inviting that made me want to come into the restaurant. Ambience of restaurant was great. After we were seated our waiter Johnathan approached our table. Awesome waiter. Very comical I might say. He told us a quick story how he got the job as a waiter. He said the food was so good there he kept going back so much , the manager Ian offered him a job there lol. Hilarious. So we start with the chips , salsa & guacamole. Let me just say , that guacamole was so delicious I had to get some to go. Very flavorful. Then we ordered steak tacos . It was delish . The steak melt in your mouth wonderful combination of flavors. . That's how great the steaks were. Then we ordered the shrimp tacos. Omg amazing. I don't like pickled onions but this taco was so flavorful and so good. For dessert we had the tres leches cake . So moist and most of all the churro cinnamon stick. Yes lord that was so good. . You can taste all the food was made fresh. Ian the manager came and visit our table we did express how it was our first time at the restaurant and it was a delightful wonderful experience. Pretty pricey but it was worth every bite. As I was leaving the restaurant walked outside there was a couple who didn't know what to eat and where to go I suggested this restaurant they immediately went in. Brunch Very happy with our brunch choices this Sunday. We got the chiliques and the Benedict. Chorizo was one of the best I've had. The kids split the Churro waffle which was yummy. I love the vibe at this restaurant. I dk if it's because I went on Cinco De Mayo but they had good music. It was a mixture of pop and reggae-ton. The crowd was young adults but not too young. I made a reservation online and we were seated immediately. They did not have any drink specials for cinco de Mayo but did have some good specials but I was not interested in that selection. There complimentary chips and salsa was very good my favorite of the night lol. I ordered steak tacos. I was not that fond of it mainly because of the type of steak they used. It wasn't bad but wasn't delicious either. My husband had the shrimp and steak fajita. For 2 meals and 2 drinks our meal was about $88.00. My husband like the shrimp but not the steak. Great spot! The ambiance is so chic, black and green decor with awesome lighting. The staff is beyond friendly, everyone we had an interaction with was just great- which really says a lot about a place. Our waiter , Eric, was truly awesome. Okay now about the food: YUM! I got the tortilla salad with chicken, absolutely delicious. The cilantro lime dressing was the perfect complement to all the fresh ingredients.
