I felt confident in what was prescribed and all my questions were answered. We didn't feel rushed or forced to buy anything but rather given the choice to choose freely and try on as many glasses/sunglasses as possible. The price tag on the shelf clearly listed the glasses at $206, but I was charged $219 on my receipt. I went back and brought this to the attention of a staff member named Rick, who acknowledged that the shelf price was incorrect but did not offer a refund or price adjustment. I asked if I could instead take the $219 pair from the display (since I paid that amount). He said no since he gave me a discount already, but we are talking the price tag $206 on display shelf and charged me $219.

I went to this location of MyEyeDr about a year and half ago because I noticed by my near vision going. I already wore glasses for distance, but suspected that I might needed progressives. After I did the exam, my suspicions were confirmed. The exam was quick and efficient, and they did push a few extras not covered by my insurance, but I didn't feel super pressured. I ended up doing the extra exams. Yes, I got a little up sold, but I hadn't had an eye exam in a few years and figure what amounted to spending a few extra dollars was with it. After the exam, I sat down with sales guy to work out all the features of my glasses and lenses. Yes, again, I was a bit up sold, but again, I don't feel any pressure. I chose the top tier progressives because I think that's was best for my eyes. A discussion of prices really isn't relevant because, I assume, everyone's insurance reimbursement is different or maybe you don't have vision insurance, so a price comparison would not an apples to apples comparison. What it comes down to was the staff and customers service. First, everyone I dealt with was nice and willing to help. Second, since getting my glass, there had been two times I've needed help. Each time the staff was great. A few months ago, one of my lens popped out. I was able to come in and they put the lens back in and tightened my glasses without an appointment. Last week, my frames cracked (that's on me for opting for the cheaper, insurance covered frames rather than something more expensive and possibly better quality). I was worried that I would have to spend the time and money to do a new round of exams and get all lenses. However, since the lens that popped out was still in good shape they don't push the most expensive option and helped me find new frames. This location didn't have the frames I had purchased, but in less a few hours they found that a store in Washington, DC had a pair. Within only a few days, they had the new frames in store for me to pick up. I did have to pay for them. I paid the portion they think insurance will not cover (about a little more than 50% of the cost). I waiting to see if insurance will cover the rest. In any event, it's going to much less expensive than getting new frames plus new lenses. One of the draw backs is that their hours seem a bit restrictive and sometimes it feels like it's hard to an appoint when you want. Over all, I'm pleased with the lenses and with their efforts to help with me through the issues with my frames.

Today, I arrived just 13 minutes late for my appointment and was told they could no longer see me. By the time the receptionist actually came over to speak with me, I was apparently 15 minutes late. I understand that appointments run on a schedule, but after 15 years as a patient, I expected at least a little consideration and basic respect. Instead, I was simply turned away. It's not the fact that I was late that bothers me most--it's the complete lack of courtesy and appreciation for a long-standing patient. After today's experience, I will not be setting foot in this office again. And unfortunately, neither will my family. Very disappointing way to treat loyal patients !! Be aware !

In truth, I'd been walking past Eye See almost daily since moving into the neighborhood and liked the idea of supporting a small business. They accepted my insurance, so I made an appointment. It was a wonderful experience right from the start. I sent the exam information my last eye doctor provided along with my insurance info. On appointment day, they were not only ready but extremely understanding when I was a little late. (I don't make a habit of being late, but am grateful that they understood!) The entire exam was extremely thorough, and opting for the retinal image (instead of pupil dilation) is definitely worth it: I returned to my home office and immediately resumed work with no blurred vision - hurray! Dr. Becherer took time to carefully examine my eyes and my current glasses/contacts, reviewed my eye history thoroughly, and made good suggestions for my specific eye situation. I picked glasses (super cute selection!), and with Marina's assistance got those ordered and got reconnected with the contact lens manufacturer, so great continuity of care. I have not yet received glasses or contacts, but based on today's experience, don't foresee any issues. Finally, I must mention the great tote bag I received - photo below.
