Peach Park was always a staple pitstop for my family when we traveling from South Alabama to anywhere directly north. Why would you stop there? Because it is right off of the interstate, a great place to look for products you never knew you needed, some of the best peaches you can find and, of course, that delicious peach ice cream. If you look at it and see the signs, you would definitely feel it is a tourist trap. And I guess it might be in some regards. But even with its location and giant letters on the roof, I feel like it is still a no-brainer over an overrated attraction. I mean, it is really hard to beat a fresh peach during the peak of the season from Chilton County. While my route has changed as a stop at Peach Park. We have always gone to peach park to enjoy the peaches. The peach pies and peach ice cream are always a favorite of ours. One day we went and they weren't incredibly busy. I walked to the back to the restroom and looked to my left and to my surprise I saw a hug stack of canned peaches going inside!!! I was really let down to see that they were using canned peaches because part of the goodness of eating peach products there was that they used peaches from all of the groves around there. A quick fun stop off I-65 to stretch your legs and get a delicious snack of fried pies and sugar coated pecans. A fun place to let the children burn off energy also. Bathroom was also clean. There's a reason why the parking lot is constantly busy. There's fresh peaches, other selected fruits and vegetables, home made ice creams, huge hand fruit pies, and bbq attached. The peaches are ripe and sweet...so glad we stopped by for this treat. The apple and peach hand pie on top of ice cream were really sweet. The portion were enormous. There's an outdoor area on the property to hike and playground for the kids. There's also a sink with soup near the exit station which came in handy during this pandemic. Peach Park is not your typical farm market. Yes they have your fruits and veggies, but they also offer bbq, ice cream and pies. Placing your order is done cafeteria style. Being a first timer, I made sure to watch what was happening in front of me so I didn't slow the line. I had the pork sandwich which was finely chopped but I was given a generous portion. Seating was picnic style which gave it a cozy feel. Of course I could not leave without trying the ice cream and cobbler. The cobbler was served warm with a nice scoop of ice cream on the side. Peach Park is a great place to find delicious fruit from Chilton County. The place is always clean and has a beautiful strolling garden. This is great for a romantic walk or to let your kids burn off some energy. They have rocking chairs overlooking these gardens as well as under the roof of the pavilion with fans blowing. Their fried pies are simply delicious and their ice cream is some of the finest I have eaten. Be sure and try their cantaloupe ice cream, you'll be back for more! They have a really neat gift shop. It's a little pricey but very unique. They also offer apple, strawberry, muscadine, scuppernong , blueberry and blackberry ciders. For cobblers and pies it's a good place. Today me and my husband came from montgomery and I was starving. He said they have other things to eat . I walked in they were out of many things . The meat didnt look fresh made (looked like it had been sitting there awhile) and they had zero vegetables not fried. Just starches. Beans, fried okra, fried grn. Tomatoes, etc. as a type 2 diabetic I dont eat like that and expected at least one vegetable grn beans, coleslaw(they were out of) even squash would da been nice . The counter person as a bit pushy (trying to get us to hurry up and order) Eh I'm not impressed . (No line so there was zero reason for this) But their cobblers are good . It's just not what I came there for this trip. Honestly I feel this place is overblown and I barely come here. Peach park is one of those touristy, roadside stops that you just cannot pass up once you know about it. So many people (myself included) cannot drive past it without stopping! For us, it always makes me think of going to the beach because that's typically where we are headed. They have so much stuff, from fresh fruit (peaches of course, along with tomatoes, corn, etc) to cider and canned jellies and veggies and sauces, to a clothing boutique. I always have to get the Swan Creek wax melts scents, and for a long time that's the only place I knew to find them! Now they carry a lot of Simply Southern items and a huge selection Tyler Candle Co. detergent, candles, and wax melts. There is also some of the best ice cream, cobbler, and they have a meat and three type food restaurant. There's a large outdoor area with picnic tables and rockers, a park, in other words space for the kids to wear off some pent-up car riding energy! If you're in a hurry and need to use the restroom, this might not be the stop for you. It's so big and rambling and unique you won't be able to make a quick pit stop! But if you want to get out and wander around and stretch your legs and amuse your weary family, make it a tradition to always stop by while traveling down I-65! read more

Since moving to the area, I've heard lots of buzz about Peach Park, so I wanted to go check it out. We visited on a hot summer Saturday afternoon. Before hitting up the peach treats, we took our time exploring the market. They had so many great options and many things I'd love to take home (salsas, jams, sauces, etc). There are also lots of excellent options for holiday gifts. Some are on the pricey side, but still nice to have lots of options. After window shopping, we headed into the cafe. I ordered a small peach cobbler with one scoop of ice cream. They were kind enough to allow me to split my scoop in two flavors (vanilla and peach). The bowl might look small, but don't be deceived....I might have eaten half. Some might think it's a little pricey, but for the amount of food you get, I found it to be reasonable. It was delicious. Sweet, warm, and the ice cream melted halfway to make a perfect pair. I'm glad I tried the peach ice cream, but I preferred the vanilla with the cobbler. I also had a chance to try the peach pie. It was also delicious. I'd say it's a matter of preference. If you're more about the fruit, go for the cobbler. If dough and crust are your preference, go for the pie. But honestly, I don't think you'll be disappointed with either. And, if you're not into peaches, they also had another flavor of both cobbler and pie. They also offer many hot food (non dessert) options. There is a lot of seating inside and outside. Since we visited in the summer, to avoid a messy ice cream melt down, we elected to eat inside. It's certainly not somewhere I would visit all the time, as it's more of a novelty, but it was a great discovery and I will make a return visit when I'm ready for another tasty peach treat. read more

We love stopping here on the way home from the beach. It's a fun place for the kids to get out, stretch, and look around. Our favorite thing to get are the fried pies. They were a little overdone this time, but it could've just been a one time thing because usually they are good. Our only complaint was the service. After the third time she did it, I replied "you want me to just scream it across the store?" She was pissed. Made a remark to her coworker I couldn't hear because I was so far away. Peach Park was always a "must stop" checkpoint for my family when traveling. When we were kids, we were always extra well behaved on our long trips because we knew it would mean ice cream and a chance to stretch our legs on the playgrounds. We would visit twice each year for about a decade and a half, so when I moved out of the state, I always wondered if it was still around. I've had the pleasure of going back several times in recent years, and it is better than I remembered. They look like they have done some renovations on the buildings while still keeping the old southern charm. They have a large dining area, with a lot of southern food options to choose from. I recommend trying the BBQ pork or chicken, the potato salad, and the cobbler. Obviously, they have anything and everything PEACH to choose from! They have a large selection of homemade ice creams - but for the love of all that is holy, be sure to at least try the peach while you are there. They have lots of play areas and trails for kids to burn some energy off and a huge covered patio with rocking chairs for the adults to relax. This is the first time visiting that I've experienced anyone even the slightest bit rude, so maybe it was a fluke day. In terms of food, this place is a family favorite. It's a family tradition to stop here for a meal on our way home from beach vacations in Florida, and it never disappoints. From great Southern BBQ to the most fantastic sweets, they cover their bases very well! My favorite is the small bbq plate which is a pulled pork sandwich that comes with two sides. The pork is phenomenal and they have homemade sauces that you add yourself. When it comes to dessert, they are always on point. They have ice cream, fried pies, cobblers, etc. and you can watch them being made fresh right in front of you. My husband and I stopped here on our way home from a weekend getaway. We were in the mood for something sweet. There was a decent sized line for desserts, but it moved rather quickly. The service was great, and everyone was so pleasant. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the patio was absolutely adorable. They even had live music. My husband is a huge fan of peaches, me not so much. Thankfully, they had a variety of cobblers, hand pies, ice creams, and other baked items to choose from. He got the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream, and I got an apple hand pie with vanilla ice cream. I'm pretty picky about apple pies because most of them have apples cut too large, and they are never cooked down enough. This was not the case here. This was, by far, the BEST apple pie I've ever had. The apples melted in your mouth, and for someone with texture issues, it was a great experience. Once we finished my husband got back in line and got us more hand pies to take home to share with our family. Highly recommend this place. read more
