Oh my! Haven't been back (my bad) since 2019...and what a difference those years have made. I rated Maddogs 4 stars back then...but age improves a lot of things, and in this case...the stars are shining. We were a bit surprised when we walked in (which door is the "middle" door?)...because they have expanded 3-fold! Eclectic decor - charming in its own way. Prompt, polite, and efficient service. Menu....is MASSIVE! and impressive. Please COME HUNGRY....'cause you're gonna need a bigger boat - to paraphrase a line from "Jaws." Absolutely spot on Chicago Dog...of course! And a wonderfully impressive Smokey Outlaw Burger so big I could not pick it us. It was truly a "knife and fork" sandwich (except perhaps for some of the big ole' boys & girls.) Came loaded with a hefty burger patty 6 ounces? Topped with a hefty portion of tender and delicious, slightly smoky, moist pulled pork. Added to that, some delightful and slightly sweet BBQ sauce and a couple of tangy pickle chips. Bingo! One of the best burgers I've had in a long time! I tried Maddogs for the first time on Wednesday. I got my order to go. It was their pasta night. Their Facebook post got my attention. They were featuring Cajun shrimp and crawfish ravioli. It came with garlic bread and a salad. Ordering was quick and easy over the phone. I was given a choice of house or spinach blend salad for my order and went with spinach. I added some strawberry buttermilk pie to the order and was told it would be about 20 minutes. The restaurant is located in a strip mall that used to be an old Walmart. The signage and lights make it an attractive storefront. There's ample parking. When I arrived, my order wasn't ready due to a large parry's order going in right before mine. I was able to wait in a nice seating area across from the bar for my order. The staff was friendly and made me feel at home. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. My wait wasn't very long but well worth it. The salad was very tasty, fresh, crisp, and loaded with tomatoes. The dressing given was generous. The pasta dish was outstanding. Perfectly cooked cheese stuffed ravioli drenched in a delicious Cajun cream sauce loaded with crawfish tails and large shrimp with a side of soft savory garlic bread. It was so delicious we wanted to lick the plate! Our dessert was strawberry buttermilk pie. It was my first time having this variation of buttermilk pie. The pie was creamy and sweet with a mild strawberry flavor mingled in. It was a pleasant end to our meal. We will be back to try the rest of their menu. read more

There is not much in the way of ambiance and the menu is relatively straightforward, but neither is necessarily a bad thing. My server was friendly and professional. I decided to go with the Maddog Burger with batter dipped French fries. My food was brought out pretty fast and I have to say that both the Maddog Burger and the batter dipped French fries were tasty, as well. If you fund yourself in Clanton, Alabama, I wouod definitely recommend a visit here. The service was good and the food was great. They also have ice cream, but I did not try any, but it looked good. They have a sign saying they serve Blue Bell,which is a good ice cream. Again, this is a great option and it earned my recommendation and I will give it five stars overall. read more

If you could NO STARS or even NEGATIVE I would. Has the WORST customer service ever. Talked to the manager about food issues that the food was TOO SALTY. Because she was "busy" she grabbed my information and said she would talk to the owner and never reached out until I kept calling and calling. The so called "manager" has high blood pressure. And tried to accuse me of cussing a 16 year old out, when I have the conversation recorded and there should have not been any reason the teenager should've been on that call if the supposed Manager was also on the phone. WORST SERVICE EVER. Upset because I found the food salty and wanted a refund and because she was too busy she couldn't take my food back. Once they knew they were in the wrong they acted attacked. They definitely went out of their way to make me feel welcome and happy! This grill is located on 7th St. in Clanton, AL, the main thoroughfare through downtown Clanton. My husband had been here previously with our pastor and my husband thorough enjoyed his initial visit. We decided to visit Maddogs together when we were looking for someplace to grab a quick lunch - and this was perfect. My husband had the Taco Salad again on his second visit to Maddogs and I had a quarter pound cheeseburger with grilled mushrooms and onions with a side salad. The delicious Gluten Free buns were buttered and toasted (who does that anymore?). They said basically anything on the menu can be made gluten free. They even have gluten free corn dogs! They have a dedicated fryer for gluten free items, so they can do gluten free fries and more. Can you say YUMMY? This is a definite will "visit again"! read more

The food was not anything to brag about. One ordered mild wings and they were too hot to eat. Clearly the wrong seasoning was used. I ordered a club sandwich that was basically bread only. It had 1 thin deli slice of ham. Absolutely ridiculous. Then on a later date they ordered out from there and I warned them but they did anyway and the order was messed up. Thrilled we have a great spot in town! The original Maddogs was good and thought the new location would be the same. We've given Maddogs a try twice already and both times have been a HORRIBLE experience. The first time our waitress Angela was wonderful and the ice cream was good but the wait time was sooooo long after we ordered our food and The wings we ordered were wrong and BURNT. the Second time is what absolutely brought us to the point where we will NEVER be back. Our waitress was rude, ignored our daughter anytime she spoke to her, the wait again after we ordered was soooo long and WRONG. I ordered buffalo chicken tots as my side, and our waitress brought out BURNT regular tots, then I asked for her to fix them and she told me those weren't a side but they were on the menu as a side and she told me that if I wanted them I'd have to order them as an appetizer so I said okay and that's what we did. Well she brought them back out 15 minutes after we finished all of our food and I asked for a manger to take the regular tots off of our ticket, because that's not what I ordered and they were burnt. Well the waitress brings over ANOTHER waitress and plays her off as the manager, and I asked for the tots to be taken off, thinking that wouldn't be a hard task given that's not what we ordered. Keep in mind with having an attitude the entire time, waiting over an hour for two dinners and having empty glasses for 40 minutes. The tots were still on our ticket... PLEASE if you go to this restaurant be prepared to wait forever, your waitress may be good or be bad! I myself have had my fair share of good places to eat and unless this Restaurant get's a new staff that doesn't lie to the customers ! I do not see this business growing It was very obvious what the waitress had done to be completely honesty I've never seen anything like it ! I do hope to see this businesses grow but with these type of employees there will be no growth within this Restaurant... I can in detail describe both employees and without second thought after reviewing the tape of the night that this happened they both would be terminated! We all ordered something different and we all enjoyed our meals. He prices were good and so were the portions. Just know we went back to back. Monday and Tuesday. Highway 65 was a parking lot and with kids yelling in the back we stopped by this little place. It was a GREAT decision. The menu was vastly diverse for burgers, dogs, fries and tots. We tried several things and it was excellent. Staff was super friendly and everyone in the place was so nice, but our kids were not so great and everyone handled it like a breeze.
