Hats off to this place for making one of the toughest things in barbecue, moist chicken. You can't imagine the number of times I've ordered smoked chicken at a barbecue restaurant only to be very disappointed at how dry and tasteless it was! The smoke flavor has to penetrate the chicken in order to really give it a good flavor, but that doesn't mean it has to be dry and there are ways of making sure it isn't . The chicken I enjoyed on this visit wasn't dry and it had a good smoke flavor, not as deep as I would like, but it was definitely there and noticeable. So they get five stars in my book just because they can do chicken right. We also had some pulled pork and it was very tasty as well. Barbecue shouldn't need sauce to be edible, the sauce should be in accompaniment and nothing more. When you walk into the restaurant, you get a definite feel that this is not your glamour palace barbecue shop. It smells like smoke, and I'm not talking about cigarettes. It's clean and the interior has the feel of a Barbecue shack. The kind of feel that makes you feel comfortable that you're gonna get something good. When you first pull up to the restaurant, you can be deceived, but when you walk inside to get the real deal. The restaurant is clean. The staff is friendly And very helpful. Genuine, old style bbq "joint". No frills, but a true southern experience. Ribs are meaty, perfectly cooked with a smoky, slightly sweet taste. Pulled pork is tender and moist. Side are terrific, with fried okra the standout. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Give this place a try! read more

Clanton, I have recently discovered is the land of 1000 bbq restaurants. It seems like there's one on every corner. If you decided that you were going to try them all it would be quite a feat to accomplish. I may give it a shot. Anyway, I pulled into this one today and had lunch. Pork plate, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Solid. Really good prices, like about 11 bucks with the drink. The food was above average. Pork moist, potatoes real, mac and cheese very cheesy and delicious. Friendly people, nice clean environment. Overall a good spot to stop for a quick lunch if you're in the area and feeling the need for bbq. read more

Food is amazing! The Bones' know what they are doing!! Only been to the Jemison location. The restaurant is really nice with good decor, very clean, comfortable tables and layout. Very clean restrooms. The only weakness to me is the front line staff. Not especially friendly, definitely not helpful putting a meal order together; no personality and even a little off-putting. But get past that and the dining is excellent. This is a regular for me now. read more

Yelp community does it again. We stopped heading back from the beach. Pulled pork was not greasy. Potato salad and Mac/Cheese were tasty. Hubster had fried okra and fries. I am not an okra fan but always try. It was very tasty. Very. Dill pickles were yummy. We travel with our pup. They have a side porch, and she was welcome. The Service was very welcoming. Fresh delicious food. I always stop by every couple of months when I have cash on me to order a cheese burger. The service is also very quick but with quality food! This guys are awesome! They were on site of the tornado in Selma and fed us while we were helping clean up. The food was unbelievably good.! I will definitely hit this place up next time I'm in Clanton! read more

This is one of my favorite barbecue restaurants. The food was excellent, the staff was very kind and the restaurant was spotless. The food is great and costs less than most barbecue restaurants. Don't live in the area but would definitely come back. Highly recommend! read more
