A must visit in Central Alabama. Great hamburgers and vibe. Only open in warm summer weather.

Chicken n Dressing for all! Too good to pass up. MacnCheese, purple hull peas, green beans, fried okra, yeast rolls and Yes awesome cornbread. They even threw in peach cobbler. This Historic Building has tin ceilings and original floors to enjoy. Not to mention The Best Coffee. Everyone in town was eating there. Friendly folks Serving and Dining. Service was super fast , the older waitress was working her tail off taking orders, serving, and even running the register. I got grits, pepper gravy, and sausage . My husband got 3 meats (sausage, bologna and crispy bacon) (bacon done right not floppy), homemade biscuits, scrambled eggs, and the best farm grown sliced tomatoes. They gave my husband the tallest cup of sweet tea I've ever seen anywhere. They also have for lunch a meat and 3 vegetable plate or even veggie plate. We plan on coming back for that. Unfortunately the floor was a bit sticky by the restrooms and just one woman stall. Hence the 4 * rating. It's open very early in the morning while most everything is not . We were glad it was walkable distance from Cornell's auto shop. My husband's truck had to be regenerated. It's a diesel and the ash had clogged the filter ugh. So if you are looking for home cooking and zero frills then pick this one.

We stopped in yesterday for coffee and a sandwich while out running errands and were totally…read moresurprised by this gem in Thorsby. The parking lot was full of local cars - this is where the locals go. Looking at the menu, food prices were very reasonable with ample choices. The atmosphere was wonderful - wood burning stove in the corner. Great front porch, flowers, wood plank flooring and a modern country decor - nothing cutsie. We were greeted promptly. There is a bar or you can eat from the menu. Food came quickly and it was very good. The bathrooms and restaurant were clean - and it looked like you might be able to eat off the floor, it was so clean. Staff were smiling and friendly, calling people by name. There is a daily special posted every day on Facebook. Can't wait to go back! 5/11/18 Update - we are here this month with the local bike night group - along with a local car show! The place is hopping! The Farm House food is fresh and homemade. Farm-to-Table movement has nothing on Miss Tiffany! She buys veggies from the local produce stands all summer long. If her food is frozen, it's because she froze it. The food tonight is on the bar - hot, plentiful and tasty. Hubby even liked the greens - and he hates greens... but not at the Farm House! Hubby wants to tell everyone, the piece of meatloaf is really big and really good! Enjoy your next trip to the Farm House when you are in Thorsby!

We were a bit surprised when we walked in (which door is the "middle" door?)...because they have expanded 3-fold! Eclectic decor - charming in its own way. Prompt, polite, and efficient service. Menu....is MASSIVE! and impressive. Please COME HUNGRY....'cause you're gonna need a bigger boat - to paraphrase a line from "Jaws." Absolutely spot on Chicago Dog...of course! And a wonderfully impressive Smokey Outlaw Burger so big I could not pick it us. It was truly a "knife and fork" sandwich (except perhaps for some of the big ole' boys & girls.) Came loaded with a hefty burger patty 6 ounces? Topped with a hefty portion of tender and delicious, slightly smoky, moist pulled pork. Added to that, some delightful and slightly sweet BBQ sauce and a couple of tangy pickle chips. Bingo! One of the best burgers I've had in a long time! Crunchy fries...As I said, gonna need a bigger boat....(or bigger belly).
