The Peach Park is a "must" when driving back home from your Gulf of America beach trip. The Park helps break up your drive a bit. It has amazing peaches when in season, which starts around May. They have wonderful BBQ year round. I love their peach cobbler with a scoop of ice cream. They have several nice little playground areas outside for the kiddos. Lots of picnic tables and benches outside. Grab a basket of peaches for your friends and family while you are there! It's always a nice gift. It's a buffet line style restaurant so the service is quick and easy.
A great stop when on a road trip - places to air the kids out, a very cool little playground with climbing and swings is hidden behind the place (go up the hill) and my kids claim they have *very* generous portions of ice cream. Make sure to wander around the place - there are multiple zones of interest and you can waste a good 20 minutes just wandering to locate the lighthouse, train cars, and giant peach, while getting in a little needed exercise.
Chicken Salad is amazing, a typical southern chicken salad with sweet pickles and egg, the bread is nice and thick and fluffy. The congealed peach salad is delicious as well. The bathrooms are very clean here, the food is great. You can see the peach pies and peach cobblers being made. Everyone here was extremely nice and politely mannered. There wasn't a long line for anything today but we got there shortly after opening and everything was very fresh. Will definitely be back!
Peach Park is a staple for the state of Alabama. It had been a while since I visited and decided to stop since I was in the area. They provide a good one stop location with everything from a boutique to jams. I had the brisket fries for lunch which was ok but nothing to shout about. I loved my peach cobbler and went back for more. I will visit next time with my girls since they have never had the experience. It's such a cute spot!
We stopped here for lunch on the way back from Montgomery. It was 1130 and the place was already packed! The BBQ line moved impressively fast. I got the small order of rib with fried okra and hash brown casserole. Everything was really good. I wish I had room for that peach ice cream, but will have to catch that next time. I also found some great produce in their market. We took home a basket of peaches, some papayas and some peppers. I also recommend their deep fried peanuts. You can eat the whole she'll. Never had that before.
It was a special six month bday for a very special girl so we had to celebrate with some peach ice cream. I love this place. It is the definition of a tourist trap and that's what the people need!! First of all there's a giant peach beside the restaurant, which is hilarious. They have a ton of cute set ups for kids and my busy boy stayed busy the entire time we visited playing and climbing. The playground was super adorable. It had a full-size barn to play, a tire swing , and even an antique seesaw. What else could you ask for?! Well, maybe some good food. And they have it! I got the barbecue sandwich, fried green tomatoes, and the waffle fries. Everything was delicious and hot out of the fryer. I was really impressed with the quality especially with the crowd they had. To top it all off, I got the peach cheesecake ice cream. I'm not even a cheesecake fan but OMG absolutely delectable. It was not too sweet or syrupy or really "too"anything. It was the perfect southern peach ice cream just like my DD and Papa used to make it. Look, are you on 65 south? Are you ready for a break? Are your kids about to drive you insane? Pull off here get some peach ice cream and thank me later.
If you live between Birmingham and Montgomery AL or between Nashville and the Beach this is a Hidden Gem of a rest stop! First stop when I get there are the restrooms, clean and they have paper towels to dry your hands. While you are by the restrooms check out the ladies peeling the peaches! On to lunch, I always get a half BBQ Chicken, ohhhh so good, moist fall off the bone with great flavor. Sides include baked beans (I add Onions from the area were the drinks are located) and I got the Onion Rings! So goood! As you can see they pile them on! My wife got the Pork BBQ, also very good! Wait... save room for dessert! Peach ice cream for me! If it is hot, I get a cone and a cup to put it in, because it can melt quickly on a hot day! They have seating inside, covered seating out side and uncovered seating outside. We sat in the covered outside and it was cool on a hot day. Things to buy when you leave, a couple fried Peach Pies a Must have! Also a peach cobbler!! Then some fresh peaches to take home!!! Hands down the best rest spot either heading to the beach or coming home from the beach for me!!! Enjoy!
I have a dear friend who lived in Alabama while growing up. She gave me her list of places to try while traveling through Alabama on 65. We stopped at Peach Park with her recommendations. I love the atmosphere and the old timey store vibe. Everything was clean. I walked my dog out the back areas first and it was a really cute patio and park-like setting. There was a travel trailer down on the side yard, where they probably sell ice cream and cold refreshments during the warmer months. There was a huge peach out there too. It was 11:00 AM and here I am buying ice cream and pies! I got 3 different varieties of peach ice cream to try. The straight peach was amazing with large chunks of peach through out. The peach cheesecake was a great surprise and one I didn't even know I needed in my life. Big chunks of cheesecake and peaches in this one. The caramel peach ice cream was delicious also. You can't go wrong with any of them. It happens to be the tail end of peach season and they had several hundred pounds out for sale. I did not buy any peach fruit only because I knew I they would get damaged or forgotten on our road trip to Pensacola. They also had a variety of tomatoes, corn and a slew of other produce out for sale. A few I'd never even heard of! They had Muscadine and Scuppernogs for sale. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't get some, just to try a new fruit. I did also get 2 fried pies while at Peach Park. We waited until we got into our rental that night to try the fried pie. We split one, as they are quite large. We ate this one cold. I like the crust a lot. I was not a fan of the peach pie filling. It had a thick consistency that maybe they got carried away with thickener (flour or cornstarch, I couldn't be sure - maybe a combo of both) but it gave a very thick texture that just didn't satisfy me. I told my husband I didn't think I had ever met a peach pie I didn't like, until now. I was bummed. There was still one pie left in the fridge and I warmed that one up in the oven for a bit to see if that would help with the paste like texture. It didn't. The crust is great, nice texture, great flavor with a nice flake. But that filling wasn't for me. I really wanted to love it, I just couldn't even taste the peach over the thickener. I'll go back again and I will get the ice cream again for sure! I'll probably skip the fried peach pie next time and try something else. They have plenty of options. It's a great place to stop and stretch, while heading down to Florida.
More park than peach. I have passed by this place too many times to count over the years and finally decided to check them out. What I expected was to find "all things peaches", but that is t the case. Now, don't get me wrong; there are lots of peach based items there. However, for the most part, it's just a big touristy type spot for fun food items and icy treats. There's bbg, cobbler, cakes and ice cream. I tried the blackberry cobbler, which was super tasty. I also tried the peach cheesecake ice cream. I tried it first and wasn't too impressed. The ice cream seemed to be lacking sweetness and I couldn't taste the peaches. This place is a cool spot for knickknacks and a tasty bite with some nostalgia of old country stores. Stop in and check them out for yourself.
Yelp! We made it to the Peach Park ALREADY this year! Well the new Peach Park. Bae and I are impressed with all your renovations. Y'all, it's Crowded too, from the parking lot to the door. People are everywhere. It is literally a 30-45 min wait in the fresh dessert line, ice cream or cobbler. And, YES, folks waiting. Fresh farm items are everywhere. Tomatoes, potatoes, blueberries, blackberries, pecans and all the peaches you can imagine. But, I'm here for these green plums. Oh yes! Wait a minute, they got fresh popcorn? Yall know I'm bout to loose it. I lovesssssss some good popcorn! And, this stuff here is good. Well, the line too long and it's real too hot to wait on This ice cream. Autumn is so nice and ready to check us out. I know she see people trying this fresh fruit all the time. Thank you for your hospitality. Yall already know, Bae say he coming back next week. Don't yall sale all them plums, save me some! I love it! Peach Park you still got it.
I always stop by for a quick good lunch. I always get one of two things. Rib plate or the chicken. Both are really good. Fried green tomatoes, baked beans, onion rings or Mac and cheese to name a few sides. It's always fast if you get ice cream second. Just walk around everyone to the food line and jump in. It's a pretty big place but sometimes hard to find seating if it's really busy. They have a park on top of the hill so the kids can play. There is a boutique also that has some nice things. It's a fun place to visit. I have been there since is was 6yrs old when it first opened. I have seen it develop over the years. Make it an often stop. You wont regret it. Sweet tea junky!

Eat the fried pie and ice cream. I got the fried apple pie and vanilla ice cream. My husband got the fried peach pie and vanilla ice cream. The service is great and the Ambiance is on spot. This is a must stop on your I-65 drive. If you are lucky, you will be there while they have live music. Check their schedule for details. read more

Soon as you pull up you just feel invited in... The smiles from the staff are so amazing, and the direction towards the different counters was a treat. I had the most amazing piece of warm peach pound cake I have ever tasted. And the smoked pulled chicken sandwich just melt in your mouth fantastic, especially with the sweet BBQ sauce. And the scenery with all the play areas are just amazing for the entire family. Just an amazing place. read more

It's a nice place to stop on the way somewhere. I wouldn't make a trip out here just for this place though. Kids had a good time. Peach stuff was good but nothing exceptional not even the ice cream. Just okay. Super cute and country. Very Alabama. read more

This was on one of the articles I read and fortunately it was on my way from Montgomery back to Birmingham. AMBIANCE: Parking: A big parking lot. Room for maybe 30 cars Seating: Plenty of seating from inside to outside. Room for about 100 people. Nothing to worry about on a regular day. Vibes: It's an excellent pitstop location. Off the freeway, close to other eateries and gas stations. The spot itself is great. Lots of photo ops, a few games and things to do for kids and adults. Whether you're looking for a meal, a snack, or general pause this is the place. FOOD: Peach Cobbler & Cookies N Cream Ice Cream (Recommend) I liked this mix. It got the store's marquee fruit and a hint of chocolate. The cobbler was served hot so make sure you eat it quick. The peaches were delicious and the crust was delightful. The ice cream brought a nice cool balance. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Friendly people. I got to sample the different ice cream flavors TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Great place! Well range of selections from food, snacks, and clothing. After a long drive this was a great stop from recharging your car or your body! So happy that Peach Park has remained open throughout these cooler months. I was able to stop by and grab a delicious homemade strawberry ice cream cone and some other goodies. I've never had a bad experience here. The service and the charm just screams "welcome"! They have added a cute little boutique inside that sells all types of things (almost like a gift shop). It's a nice touch! As always, if you're traveling through Chilton county... please exit 205 and stop to enjoy this special place. read more
Great place to stop on 65 and stretch your legs! Has a little gift shop, home grown cooked food and dessert, playground and nice/covered outdoor seating. When in Chilton County, you've gotta check out Peach Park. After all, Clanton's water tower is a giant peach. Peach Park has peach candy, canned peaches, peach ice cream, homemade peach fried pies, peach cobbler, and of course, fresh Chilton County peaches, when they're in season. I could talk about peaches the way Bubba talked about shrimp, but you've just gotta try it for yourself! In addition to peaches, they serve delicious daily special meals. Outside, there's a large deck with sitting areas and live acoustic music, and shady walking trails if you need to stretch your legs. There's also a fabulous gift shop and farmers market area with tons of other food items and goodies. Peach Park is a perfect spot to stop when travelling. Who doesn't love Peach Park?! It's definitely a tourist attraction and of course locals love it too!! Peach park is a destination when heading up I-65 South. You gotta stop! My family and I made the trip to Peach park on a late Saturday afternoon. It was packed and this wasn't a surprise. I was pretty excited for this visit! I may have been the only excited one .... Truly excited one! I grabbed some fresh peaches for a friend of mine. I ended up with a couple of things for myself. I tried the pork sandwich and onions rings. This isn't what I originally wanted but they were out of the filet tips and gravy. The pork was a little dry but I really like the variations in bbq sauce available. The hot bbq sauce was my favorite, along with the pickles. My side was onion rings which had a nice flavor but weren't hot enough... kind of lukewarm. 6/10 Now dessert was 10/10!!!! Why? Fried peach pie and peach ice cream. I didn't eat the two together because that would have been too much. I enjoyed my ice cream right away and took the fried pie home to tear into later that evening. The pie was HUGE(See pics) I honestly ate off of it like 3 times. It was fried up crispy and filled with warm , fresh peachy goodness!!! Definitely the highlight of the trip out to Peach Park! All of the staff were nice and the service was fast. It's been years since I've come to peach park and it was well worth the wait and drive. Great for big groups and people of all ages. There's something for everyone! read more

If you are traveling to the beach on 65, stopping at the Peach Park is an absolute must stop! Not only are their bathrooms clean (located in the back of the building) but their fresh produce, shopping, and unique finds are worth stopping and stretching your legs! My favorite item to pick up are the fresh handmade peach turnovers. But their ice cream cream and lunch menu are also a tasty treat! The service is quick and efficient. Be sure to take a few extra minutes to walk around with your kids outside the park with many great photo ops! read more

I am happy that I finally had a chance to visit this place. It was very easy to locate as it is off i65 interstate. I did not try any of the peach dishes from the restaurant park but I did try the Apple Fried pie and I loved it. However I did not post the Strawberry Syrup and the Sweet Bourbon glaze that I bought from market side of the store. Please note I love it and I will be back to grab more. The store was very clean and the people were nice. read more

Easy to reach from expressway I-65 between Birmingham and Montgomery. Play area for children. Fried peach pie was good with ice cream. Only caution: Items like jams are more expensive than found earlier in trip in Tennessee. But lots of choices. There is another peach/produce stop in same area. Both good. We always stop at one. This time was Peach Park. read more
Get the ice cream-we loved peach and blueberry. Also sampled peach cheesecake but preferred more creamier just peach. We got a pecan fried pie to go. We also got some peaches to try later. Lots of cute clothes and food to buy. We didn't buy any but maybe next time. The service counter girls were helpful giving recommendations with a smile. read more

I love peaches. On our way home from vacation, decided to stop for the first time. They "place" is great! For my wife and I it was the "people" that will keep us from stopping again. Our visit was 8/9/24 around 5:30pm. When you go in to the main store, it's a great setup with lots to do and checkout. Plenty of hang out areas. This review will focus on the staff located in the boutique, bakery and ice cream room. If you have to open a door to enter, aside from the dining area with the white picnic tables, BEWARE of the most stuck up, unfriendly staff you can encounter. In the Boutique, my wife was the only shopper. The staff never greeted her and was so cold my wife put items down rather than purchase them. In the bakery same thing, no greeting. The silence of being the only customer in the room was off putting to say the least. The icing on the cake was walking into the ice cream room. Two girls, one brown hair, one Blonde hair, tons of makeup, could not have been displayed a worse attitude. It felt like they didn't want to be there and serving customers was not on their to do list. It's our first time and they kept prodding us.."do you know what you want yet?" Over and over. We were letting everyone who came in go before us as we made up our minds. I really wanted cobbler and they were almost out except for one small corner piece where there was little crust and looked dried out. I asked if they were going to put more out. The brown headed girl said we're not allowed to put any new cobbler out until this one is all gone. So I just got ice cream. Later I walk into the dining area which is connected to the ice cream line and there is a half of the peach cobbler. The ice cream girl never told us that they could check or that we could get cobbler if we walked around the corner. Also, when my wife ordered her ice cream the girl started scoops mg the wrong ice cream. She said "you told me you wanted this". She was very aggravated. I brought it to her attention with a smile that from our side the labels were opposite. There was no expression, not "oh no, sorry about that". Just cold with no personality. It truly was like they did not want to be there and they did not like people. It's my understanding that their positions are part of the very few that can get tips. If this is what gives them the entitled attitude, it needs to go!! To the owner: The staff in the areas mentioned above do not belong in those positions. They literally ruined the entire experience. Other shoppers said they feel the same way and know many others who have complained. My wife NEVER complains but she couldn't get over the feeling of those workers looking down on her for some reason. Positive: once I finally got it, the cobbler was good. Ice cream was just ok. The only saving grace for this place was the front service staff who were awesome! Autumn helped me with my peach purchase and was so friendly, along with her male coworker.
