The baked spaghetti was very good, well baked with plenty of flavor and the fried chicken tenders were also tasty and cooked just right. The bread was perfect: warm, soft, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, the garden salad didn't live up to the rest of the food. The vegetables tasted like they had been sitting mixed together for a while, almost as if they'd been combined days earlier, so the individual flavors were hard to distinguish. The staff were pleasant and polite, though the service felt a little low-energy. On the positive side, the price was decent and fair for the amount of food. Overall, some items were definitely enjoyable, especially the baked spaghetti, chicken tenders, and bread, but the salad and slightly bland service kept the experience from being outstanding.

The ribs tasted good but lacked the needed smoke flavor. The mac & cheese and potato salad was also good. The interior was nothing special either. One word to describe it, OLD. I'm okay but if I had an allergy it could have been a concern so if you do have an allergy be sure to tell them. They also left out the tartar sauce we asked for as well as the honey mustard. One of my party won't eat fish without tartar sauce. I was a bit frazzled and stopped to get a fish sandwich and fried green tomatoes. Because of COVID-19 I ordered at the Drive-thru. As I approached to pay, I realized I left my wallet at the Birmingham store where I stopped for hurricane supplies earlier. I was so embarrassed. The Angels on Earth that work at this locations said not to worry about it. Not only did they calm my nerves, they gave me the food I ordered. I was overwhelmed by their kindness and generosity. I frantically drove back to Birmingham to retrieve my wallet (another positive review I must write). When I returned to Captain D's to pay for the meal they gave me, they refused to accept my payment and told me they "took care of it." Now I am a man 6'3" and over 215 lbs. The generosity of these Angels brought tears to my eyes, peace to my troubled mind and heart, and faith that in this troubled world in which we live, God is alive and goodness will prevail.
