And the rusted tin roof isn't so much charming and folksy as it is off-putting. I was a bit frazzled and stopped to get a fish sandwich and fried green tomatoes. Because of COVID-19 I ordered at the Drive-thru. As I approached to pay, I realized I left my wallet at the Birmingham store where I stopped for hurricane supplies earlier. I was so embarrassed. The Angels on Earth that work at this locations said not to worry about it. Not only did they calm my nerves, they gave me the food I ordered. I was overwhelmed by their kindness and generosity. I frantically drove back to Birmingham to retrieve my wallet (another positive review I must write). When I returned to Captain D's to pay for the meal they gave me, they refused to accept my payment and told me they "took care of it." Now I am a man 6'3" and over 215 lbs. The generosity of these Angels brought tears to my eyes, peace to my troubled mind and heart, and faith that in this troubled world in which we live, God is alive and goodness will prevail.
