Grumpy Dog usually isn't "disgusting" per se. It's just not good. Ultimately the price for what you're getting drags it down into 1-star territory. These are anemic little Great Value hot dogs on cheap little untoasted buns. They're served lukewarm and the myriad of toppings are served cold. An icy chili dog is gross. A soggy Chicago dog is even worse. Toast your buns, fry your sausages, buy a warming tray for God's sake! Just show me you're trying. Ultimately, Grumpy Dog is just lazy. Twice the price of a Costco dog, about a third the size, and tasting an order of magnitude worse. read more

I had the Cheesy beanie which is a meaty frank with chili, cheese, grilled onion, and baked beans, truly a messy delight. My 3 family members played it safer with the frito bandito wrap which included grilled chicken, lettuce, coleslaw, fritos and cheese. All 3 really enjoyed, and the bite I had was on the mark. Date night at the Dog tonight - first time there. Cute little place - looks like an old gas station maybe? Food - fun selection of hot dogs and pretty basic selection of potato chips. Had some desserts and salads too.....but we really only paid attention to the dogs. Had a Grumpy (basic - onions and chili) and the Kraut (sauerkraut. Onions and chili). Buns were fresh and the toppings plentiful. Have to eat with a fork and knife. Bottled Coke products. Pricing was good - $5-6 for the dog and buy 2 get a free bag of chips. We had 2 dogs, bag of chips and 2 bottled cokes for $15. Seating inside and some picnic tables under the metal awning out front. Only negative was that they use styrofoam plates. Ugh. read more

Whoever the girls are working today , they need a pep up. We got no hello. When standing to order, we didn't order because she didn't say one word to us, so we weren't sure she was ready .... She was handed a plate by the girl prepping the food , to which she looked at us, handed us the plate and pointed at the guy behind us. We were like "are you asking us to hand this to him?"
