My car, the first and probably only brand new car I'll ever have was vandalized as I ran into a…read morerestaurant to retrieve an order I had called in. As I was returning to my car, I could see it from a distance, someone had "keyed " scratch, the entire length of the driver's side of my vehicle. It was severe. Rule of thump: put water on a scratch on your auto finish, if the scratch disappears it can be buffed out. When I got home I ran the hose, wet the car, the scratch remained completely visible. As I'm new to Raleigh, and new to NC I didn't know who to call. I opened the Yelp app and contacted several repair shops based on reviews. They all responded promptly and gave a quote except one. The first one to respond didn't give me a quote, he set a time for the next day when he could come see it in person. The day Travis arrived a few minutes early and I was ready. He inspected the scratch and gave me a quote, best by several hundred $$ I was skeptical, I told Travis I was awaiting to hear from a couple more shops but I would let him know either way within a couple hours. I had a good feeling about Travis so even though his very much lower price gave me a "too good to be true" vibe, I needed my car fixed so I texted Travis. We set a time for two days later as I had to work around my schedule. Travis' two helpers arrived early, before Travis. They explained they would prep the car and could start immediately. I left them to get started as I had a project had had to attend. When I looked outside maybe 20 mins later Travis was there his truck unloaded, equipment set up. All three seemed very busy. What they had to do to get that scratch out was unreal. The scratch wasn't just to the metal, the metal was scratched as well. It was a lot of work many steps in the process and it took some time. As they neared completion of the project, one of the guys found me in my backyard and filled me in. I started towards my car, already close enough where the scratch was previously visible, I saw shiny pint. I continued to close the distance, scrutinizing with increased intensity. I was at the car, scanning the previously damaged area with my eyes. I saw no sign of any damage, no residual of the scratch whatsoever. My nightmare was over, Travis and his guys made my car look like brand new. I can once again drive my car with pride. I recommend Same Day Bumper and Grill all day every day and twice on Sunday Than you Travis !!

Five stars for the crew at Michael Jordan Collision Center, and thanks to Devon H for helping us…read moreout throughout the whole process, one I was wholly unfamiliar with (dealing with someone else's insurance, having body work done.) He kept us up to date daily on the progress and was very helpful and informative during the process. Someone backed into my wife's car and I set up an appointment to get it fixed here, it took them about two and a half days total from start to finish to replace the fender, repair the door, repair the bumper cover, and paint. The paint blending is perfect, panel fitment is spot on, and the car is actually in better shape than it was before it got backed into. now I just want the rest of the car to look as nice as the right front corner does. I would recommend Michael Jordan Collision center to anyone in the area looking to get body work done! Thank you for helping us out! -James M

The cost increases expeditiously. Whatever you do, don't expect competent and reliable communication. Pay no attention to the texts messages, they will say it's a glitch. They don't return calls but they are ready with an excuse. Your car won't be ready when they say, it's as though they are adept in running out your insurance money until you have to pay for the rental. Trust me! I have seen my brother go through the EXACT mess with MJCC and now I see why he loathes that place and I concur. Over 30 days for repairs and I finally get my car. Oh yes, it looks good- but the process leaves much to be desired. It's actually worse than purchasing a car from MJN... but that's a whole other review!

I originally used a mobile mechanic thinking I could save some…read moremoney, but after this experience I would rather spend the extra money and take my car to an established shop. I paid him $150 to install a replacement throttle body on my 2009 Dodge Caliber on June 11th. After the installation, my car was fluttering while idling and continued doing that until June 17th, when the car shut off. I couldn't even drive it one mile. Around that time, while I was already dealing with the problems with my car, he started making advances toward me. He asked me if I wanted a "sugar daddy," repeatedly told me I was a "good woman," and during a test drive asked me if I wanted to spend more time with him. He also talked to me about having a wife and twin children, which made the advances even more inappropriate to me. I turned him down. I asked him how he relearned the throttle body with the computer and didn't get an answer. Before he came back to work on my car again, I specifically asked him to bring the computer/programmer, and he said okay. When he came back, I asked about it and that was when he told me he didn't have the equipment and said it cost around $5,000. I would have liked to know that before paying him to install the throttle body. I also paid him another $125 to install an IMRC actuator. The next day my car was scanned again and P2004, Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open, was still showing. I later asked him to make sure the actuator he installed was working before I bought more parts, but I never received confirmation that it was. My issue is twofold. I had problems with the work I paid for, and at the same time I was dealing with unwanted advances from the person I hired to work on my car. I can't say whether my turning him down had anything to do with what happened afterward, but given the timing, it is something I have questioned. Before I pay anyone for a service, I always look at the reviews first. That's one of the reasons I'm leaving this review. Other customers, especially women, should know about the experience I had before deciding whether to hire him. After everything that happened, I question whether he is selective about who he behaves this way toward. For women especially, I would think twice about using a mobile mechanic just to save money. If you do decide to use one, use a credit card or another payment method that gives you clear purchase protection and a way to dispute the charge if something goes wrong. Women should be able to hire someone to work on their vehicle without having to deal with unwanted advances while trying to conduct business. Based on my experience, I would rather spend the extra money and go to an established repair shop where there is more accountability and professionalism.

I also needed a little body work from a minor fender bender. I sure didn't have $3K to work with so decided to see what it would cost at Maaco to paint the whole car since I'm keeping it for the duration and the body work too. I settled on the mid range paint job and with the body work and labor came to a workable price for the job (about a third of what my friend paid elsewhere just for her paint job). The finished product looks amazing! The car looks brand new, body work & paint job! I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Ten months later and it still looks terrific!! Just goes to show, you can't judge a book by it's cover or the location, or even the brand name, which I know many poo-poo.

Until it rained ... at which point, the paint bubbled up in strange patterns, on hood, trunk, fenders, revealing "gut prints", similar to fingerprints, only complete with belly button, of where whoever, barechested and sweaty, had prep-sanded for the paint job and left behind his oily "image". Pretty funny in retrospect, but at the time, I was disgusted. Sloppy, slapdash, slovenly: descriptors that come to mind. So, in short, I don't recommend them either.
