what a cute little inn in Boulder, CA. upon our arrival we were greeted by the receptionist. we checked in pretty late like 7 pm or so. they rooms were nice and had it unique charm. rooms were clean though some areas needed attention. count help but notice that there may have been a leak of some sort by the refrigerator. the carpet was wet. i was impressed that they had a letter or note saying all their water ( from the faucet was drinkable because it was filtered water) they have a big pool and couple of hot spas. along with some fire pits also they have nice balconies. the room had: microwave, mini refrigerator, iron, ironing board and plenty of towels along with drink ware. pea soup in is conveniently located near the freeway exits 246 and 101. which is nice and near by a lot of fast food restaurant. complimentary breakfast from 6am to 10 am. did not like that they have the old building next to them ( non vacant) there is plenty of parking for this inn. if you're on a budget this is a great option.

First time staying here because the prices were a lot more reasonable than staying in Santa Barbara and Solvang. Such a cute family hotel! Swimming pool, hot tub, mini golf and fire pits. Our teens had a great time just hanging outside playing. The breakfast was danishes and muffins but better than nothing. We took a 10 minute drive down the street to Solvang, so it's a great location if you want to visit there. We will definitely be back again! The rooms were clean and comfy.

I wanted to visit Solvang so I stayed at this hotel which is about 5-10 minutes away. The check-in process was smooth and there was free parking around the exterior of the hotel. The interior of the room was a little run down and outdated. My room had a microwave, fridge, and a balcony overlooking the courtyard. There was a TV in the room but didn't have a ton of offerings besides local and basic channels. Some amenities included a swimming pool in the middle, a putting green, corn hole, chairs and tables. There was complimentary breakfast but was just Danish pastries, muffins, and coffee. The pastries reminded me of toaster strudels; I'm not sure if they were store bought (probably) but they actually tasted pretty good. The hotel is within close proximity to Solvang which is the main attraction of the area. It's also about 45 minutes from Santa Barbara if you want to make that drive to a larger city. The actually town where this hotel is located (Buellton) doesn't have much, but this hotel has the basics.

Just to be clear, this is not 5 star hotel but definitely a 5 star motel in its class and price range. All the staff is very friendly, nice, and happy to help. The amenities are awesome! They have a pool and jacuzzi, a little mini golf, cornhole, and fire chat tables. In the morning they provide danish pastries and muffins along with oatmeal, coffee, and hot chocolate. Convenient location- very close to downtown Solvang, Mission Santa Inez, and the Ostrich farm. There are lots of restaurants and gas stations, and it is right across from the hitching post restaurant from sideways. Rooms are clean and standard with two Queen beds, coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. Great value!

The rooms are exceptionally clean and offer great value for your money. Our accommodation was quite spacious and included a mini refrigerator and microwave, with a hairdryer and iron also provided for convenience. There are numerous opportunities for relaxation and family activities, including cornhole, a large Connect Four game, and small fire pits perfect for enjoying a glass of wine by the fire. I highly recommend this establishment.

Poop marks on the fitted sheet. Great housekeeping, huh? It even looks fresh, not a stain.

Not sure how this outdated, run down poorly kempt motel gets good reviews. By far, the WORST experience at a motel or hotel in my 60 years. We arrived at 5:30 AM after fleeing the fires of Los Angeles. We needed a place to stay for a few nights trying to stay out of harm's way. Gama was very friendly and welcoming and did his best to take care of us, find us a room and let us check in early considering the circumstance. This was 5:30 am on Saturday and he gave us until noon Sunday for the price of one night. Very kind. BUT, we went to our room, at first everything seemed fine, until.....the beds. UGH. VERY uncomfortable, not firm in the least, so soft you sink into it and can't get out, and the sheets and bedding COVERED in a smelly cleaning product. it was nauseating. I couldn't sleep a wink in this bed even though I was exhausted. The sheet and blanket smells were giving me a headache. I tore the blankets off the bed to just lay on the flat sheet to decrease the stench and what do I find on it? POOP. Yeah.....fecal marks on the sheet. We gathered up our stuff that we loaded into the room put it ALL back into the car and went down to the front desk. By this time it is six hours later and the nice guy was off duty and instead was a frowny blonde-wigged woman with a mean look. We told her how uncomfortable we were and were leaving without any sleep and sickened by the sights and smells. She wouldn't give us a discount even after only being there for six hours, so we paid and we left. We will never return and I warn anyone going there that needs a clean FIRM comfortable bed. FORGET THIS PLACE. It's had its heyday and is running on fumes. Literally.

We also visited the lounge for late night snacks and drinks and the bartender was great. Our only two complaints were the showerhead and barn door. The showerhead is a rainfall style, so for me, it wasn't angled or pressured enough to get the wash I prefer, and the barn door will slam against the countertop with the slightest outward pressure. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our stay.

I'm curious to know why there are any exposed pipes in the first place. I'm sure having exposed pipes violates multiple city and health codes. One unique thing I noticed at this Marriott hotel was that the room had Febreze Car Clip Air Fresheners attached to the AC vents. I've never seen this at any other hotel. I'm not sure if this is standard practice at this hotel or if it was added to this particular room because the previous guest smoked in it. Breakfast was great - the usual waffle maker, scrambled eggs (obviously made from powder, but still ok), bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit, juices, biscuits and gravy, cold cereal and more. The only complaint I had was the tea bags were all caffeinated. The room was clean and spacious; with a refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave oven. Cons: traffic noise even on the non-freeway side. It wasn't bad between 11pm and 5am, even with the window open, but at 5am the truck traffic started. There is also a large gas station right across the street, and semi trucks park in front of the inn at night. This was a non-smoking room - however, people obviously smoke in the enclosed hallway and the odor of smoke remains. There were a few issues in the room - grout around the tub was missing and small amounts of mold were beginning to appear. The AC unit was very loud and it smelled like the filter needed to be replaced. Noise from the neighbors was only when the shower was being used. The hotel staff were mostly wonderful - except at check-in late afternoon. The male clerk seemed flustered, commented that there were no guarantees for early check-in, even though we had gotten approval when we booked. He ended up making 3 phone calls before we were able to check in - and did not give me any information while I was waiting, and did not apologize fore the wait which I would have expected. When I called to ask where the nearest ice machine was, he said all the way down in the lobby - but I found that there was one on the next floor down which was much more convenient. Not sure why he didn't direct me to a closer one. All in all, I would stay here again - but would probably request a different room - when booked, the site stated there was a mountain view. The view is of the parking lot, street, gas station and some other businesses and homes. No mountains there! Check in is from 3pm to 12am. The room was a bit small, but it had a cozy feel to it. It felt clean and organized. There's a table, mini coffee maker, and fridge. The fridge kept making a loud and annoying sound so we actually unplugged it. The AC was on auto, but every time it turned on, it released a smell throughout the whole room. It smelt of old florals. The scent was so strong, it caused a headache. We had to turn the AC off which left the room stuffy. The WiFi worked great and there's a basket with corn hole pouches you can play outside. The wife and I were anxiously waiting for the email, but it didn't come until 3:10. They also didn't pick up when we tried to call, but they eventually returned our text message, so allow for a bit of delay in reaching them. The room was fine but small. There was a TV, mini fridge with no freezer section, small coffee maker that didn't work well, and a small table over the fridge that had barely enough room for me to sit at to use my laptop. Lighting was a bit too dim. The free WiFi was reliable and fast enough for streaming. The wall heater worked amazingly well. In the bathroom, the sink was very low and the shower pressure was only strong when the water was on the cold setting. Noise isolation was average - we heard some plumbing and muffled conversation from the adjacent unit, but people were generally respectful. There's a common room with an ice machine, microwave, and extras like toilet paper and cutlery for guests to use. Outside there are three fire pits, a bike station with tools and a pump, a bocce ball court, and cornhole boards. The cornhole bean bags are easy to miss - they're actually in a little bucket in each room. Guests here are also able to use the fitness center at Sideways Inn, the nearby sister hotel. Their fitness center is pretty legit, especially if you're into weight training. 3.5 stars overall. Hotel Hygge was the cheapest place in town by far (at least on the Capital One travel portal that we booked through), so I was willing to overlook a lot of the shortcomings. We even found a bit of hygge for ourselves by the fire pit at night. For the price, this was a reasonable stay!

And WHY would you hold onto papers that long & why did you not shred it? You should be shredding guest reg. cards & NOT hand out people's personal info in ANY capacity! 2.) Other few negatives to note: I did not trust the cleaning skills. A soapy, used washcloth was left hanging on the shower pipe. There is a bit of mold at the shower ceiling, upper walls, floor corners & wall tiles that should be bleached & the ceiling should be painted with mold resistant paint. Room AC vent should be disinfected to prevent it from smelling like ammonia (urine) when using fan only mode. 3.)
