Well we stayed here due to the fact that it was last minute and we had a pup with us. And no extra charge for pups. But my goodness, I know why I don't stay in motel 6. Expensive in this city but go 20 miles out towards Lompoc and it is almost 50.00 cheaper. Pretty sure it was expensive because we were so close to Solvang. And that was with AARP discount. Crappy rooms but we were just sleeping anyway. Watched TV on my tablet because we couldn't pull up anything on their TV. Kind of musty smell and darn it not enough water pressure. But the people working there that I interacted with were really nice and pleasant to talk to. The next morning we were packing up gear and headed out. All they offer is what I call dirty coffee. You know comfort inn is the same price with breakfast. Well I tried a motel 6 after 29 years and let's just say " I tried it".

Sheets were dirty which means they weren't changed before we checked in, mold on the bathroom ceiling, heater wasn't working, dirty shower curtain, bathroom light didn't work. I would say you get what you pay for but we paid too much for what we got. This is the first time I don't leave a tip for housekeeping but they're obviously not doing their job.

When you first get to the motel it is very dirty trash everywhere outside.then once you get into the room it is REALLY bad. Dirty everywhere, the pillows and blankets have dirt and are stained, the AC is literally busted, and it smells AWFUL when you first go inside.

Our stay here was sufficient for one night though not as pleasant an experience as we usually have at other Motel 6 locations. Our room which was booked in advance was not ready upon arrival after the 3:00pm listed check-in time. They gave us a room with two beds in order to accommodate us sooner since we weren't really willing to wait. We needed rest and had places to be on this day. A few things worth noting about the room... the TV remote had no power/volume control, it was only connected to dish to change the channels, so although we could press the power button on the TV itself, there were no volume controls on the TV (which was wrapped in a wooden wall console), and since the volume was set a bit too loud, we had no choice but to just turn it off. Temperature control maxed at 74, which is not a big deal in warmer weather, but for colder evenings, this kind of sucks, especially when they only have thin blankets and sheets on the beds. To top it off, there were bugs inside the room, yes crawling insects on the floor and walls... not a lot, but a few is a few too many. I'm not even sure if they were beetles or baby cockroaches, but I just wanted to get outta there. On the plus side, they have a microwave and vending machines on site, near the front desk office. Also, it's only a 6-minute drive to Solvang just down the road (without needing to get back on the freeway), and they charge half the price of most hotels in the area. Still, there were too many annoying inconveniences during our recent stay for me to give anything more than 2 stars.

More like a 2.5. Rooms are clean, but not clean enough for families specifically with upper respiratory concerns. The bathroom vent is bad, and our room had cracks in the sink and needed overhead cleaning. It's nice for construction workers or solo travelers, who made up the majority of guests during our stay. The lighting on the property is better than that of a prison because the white lights pierced in. Costumer service again a 2.5 star rating, bottom line unprofessional both evening and day. Happy with the cost for a one night stay!

Fruit flies. Bed bugs. Flies. Disgusting. If you think you see something crawling from the corner of your eye, you are right, it was an insect. Male employee at front counter was nice and professional, he did give good reviews for California Tacos across the street.

I really don't have any complaints. Room for 2, is 220 military discount. 2 beds full size, TV, phone , shower , tables, sink. Plenty of towels, shower was nice and clean. Check out is 11 am , think check in is at 2 pm. Plenty of parking. Food spots are around us. Ac takes a little while to kick in. Think it is the cheapest hotel around there

I typically try to stay at Hilton properties when I travel as much as I can. This location is very clean, has a modern feel and it seems remodeled recently, the staff is very friendly as well. Hampton Inn & Suites also give you a nice complementary breakfast and free parking, this is a great value. My room was very nice, clean, modern style. The rooms come with a mini fridge, coffee maker as well as a microwave, everything you need. The bed and pillows are comfy, the bathroom is nice and large with a full glass shower. This property also has a small Business center, a nice lobby, a pantry for snacks and misc. items. They also have a great gym here, which is a big plus in my book. They have a Precor FTS glide multi function weight machine as well as free weights, treadmills, elliptical machines and a Peloton bike. The only thing that I would improve here is adding a second bench so if there are more than one person trying to use it, other than that a great gym and have all you need for a great workout. Next time I am in the area, I will for sure be staying here once again, great property. Enjoy!

We were excited to use it but were told multiple times it was not ready until 7 or 7:30 pm. I even called twice, and when we were finally told it was ready, we went down right away and both fire pits were already taken. We only got to enjoy it for about an hour before it was shut off at 10 pm. It would have been better if we were told to go down earlier or given an option to reserve instead of being told to wait. It was really cold and we ended up waiting outside, which took away from the experience. Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub while we waited in the cold. But overall, would stay again.

We also visited the lounge for late night snacks and drinks and the bartender was great. Our only two complaints were the showerhead and barn door. The showerhead is a rainfall style, so for me, it wasn't angled or pressured enough to get the wash I prefer, and the barn door will slam against the countertop with the slightest outward pressure. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our stay.

I'm curious to know why there are any exposed pipes in the first place. I'm sure having exposed pipes violates multiple city and health codes. One unique thing I noticed at this Marriott hotel was that the room had Febreze Car Clip Air Fresheners attached to the AC vents. I've never seen this at any other hotel. I'm not sure if this is standard practice at this hotel or if it was added to this particular room because the previous guest smoked in it. I emailed the hotel general manager, never received a reply or courtesy call. This is not what we expected from a reputable brand like Marriott.

Breakfast was great - the usual waffle maker, scrambled eggs (obviously made from powder, but still ok), bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit, juices, biscuits and gravy, cold cereal and more. The only complaint I had was the tea bags were all caffeinated. The room was clean and spacious; with a refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave oven. Cons: traffic noise even on the non-freeway side. It wasn't bad between 11pm and 5am, even with the window open, but at 5am the truck traffic started. There is also a large gas station right across the street, and semi trucks park in front of the inn at night. This was a non-smoking room - however, people obviously smoke in the enclosed hallway and the odor of smoke remains. There were a few issues in the room - grout around the tub was missing and small amounts of mold were beginning to appear. The AC unit was very loud and it smelled like the filter needed to be replaced. Noise from the neighbors was only when the shower was being used. The hotel staff were mostly wonderful - except at check-in late afternoon. The male clerk seemed flustered, commented that there were no guarantees for early check-in, even though we had gotten approval when we booked. He ended up making 3 phone calls before we were able to check in - and did not give me any information while I was waiting, and did not apologize fore the wait which I would have expected. When I called to ask where the nearest ice machine was, he said all the way down in the lobby - but I found that there was one on the next floor down which was much more convenient. Not sure why he didn't direct me to a closer one. All in all, I would stay here again - but would probably request a different room - when booked, the site stated there was a mountain view. The view is of the parking lot, street, gas station and some other businesses and homes. No mountains there! But it is on the main street of Buellton within walking distance of businesses and restaurants.

They contacted me through airbnb and sent an email 15 minutes before check in (3pm) to provide me with the information and code. It's self check-in which was nice since we didn't arrive till 10pm. Check in is from 3pm to 12am. The room was a bit small, but it had a cozy feel to it. It felt clean and organized. There's a table, mini coffee maker, and fridge. The fridge kept making a loud and annoying sound so we actually unplugged it. The AC was on auto, but every time it turned on, it released a smell throughout the whole room. It smelt of old florals. The scent was so strong, it caused a headache. We had to turn the AC off which left the room stuffy. The WiFi worked great and there's a basket with corn hole pouches you can play outside. Hotel Hygge is what you get when you cross Airbnb with a motel. Everything is contactless and there's no front desk, so someone emails you at the start of your stay with information including your room number and keypad code. Check-in starts at 3pm. The wife and I were anxiously waiting for the email, but it didn't come until 3:10. They also didn't pick up when we tried to call, but they eventually returned our text message, so allow for a bit of delay in reaching them. The room was fine but small. There was a TV, mini fridge with no freezer section, small coffee maker that didn't work well, and a small table over the fridge that had barely enough room for me to sit at to use my laptop. Lighting was a bit too dim. The free WiFi was reliable and fast enough for streaming. The wall heater worked amazingly well. In the bathroom, the sink was very low and the shower pressure was only strong when the water was on the cold setting. Noise isolation was average - we heard some plumbing and muffled conversation from the adjacent unit, but people were generally respectful. There's a common room with an ice machine, microwave, and extras like toilet paper and cutlery for guests to use. Outside there are three fire pits, a bike station with tools and a pump, a bocce ball court, and cornhole boards. The cornhole bean bags are easy to miss - they're actually in a little bucket in each room. Guests here are also able to use the fitness center at Sideways Inn, the nearby sister hotel. Their fitness center is pretty legit, especially if you're into weight training. 3.5 stars overall. Hotel Hygge was the cheapest place in town by far (at least on the Capital One travel portal that we booked through), so I was willing to overlook a lot of the shortcomings. We even found a bit of hygge for ourselves by the fire pit at night. For the price, this was a reasonable stay!

And WHY would you hold onto papers that long & why did you not shred it? You should be shredding guest reg. cards & NOT hand out people's personal info in ANY capacity! 2.) Other few negatives to note: I did not trust the cleaning skills. A soapy, used washcloth was left hanging on the shower pipe. There is a bit of mold at the shower ceiling, upper walls, floor corners & wall tiles that should be bleached & the ceiling should be painted with mold resistant paint. Room AC vent should be disinfected to prevent it from smelling like ammonia (urine) when using fan only mode. 3.)
