Liked this hotel. The front desk was welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The lobby is nice and comfy.

    Skillet meatballs

I travel a lot for work, stayed here for a trip. The hotel is nice, rooms are clean. The courtyard bistro food is ok. Nothing great, felt like you overpay for mediocre quality food. I ordered the skillet meatballs for $15 and honestly with how the cashier was hyping it up I was expecting it to be good but unfortunately it wasn't appetizing at all. The meatballs tasted like it was from a frozen bag of meat definitely not freshly made. Tasted rubbery, and the sauce it came in was from a jar of pasta sauce. The picture of the skillet of meatball that they advertised looked more appealing than what came out. In the description, it stated it comes with some artisan toast but you get some weird smelling bread that was inedible. Service was ok nothing to write home about at the bistro. Ambiance is good, order the food and find a seating area in the bistro or in the lobby area of hotel. Definitely wouldn't come back here to eat.

Restaurant review: The food here is good. But be prepared for a lot of sass and rudeness from the cashier/guy who makes the coffee. At first, we waited by the cashier to order breakfast of which he didn't say hi or anything for a few minutes. We asked him if it's a sit down and order ordeal since we had never been here. He's like please give me a minute. Still no hi. Like ok it was just a question. I wasn't rushing him. Weird. So then he comes by and takes our order. Still no hi. My mom said she didn't want toast with the eggs. He said do you want fruit or something like that. My mom just said sure if you have it. He mumbles under his breath I wouldn't be offering it otherwise. Wtf ? Lol . Ok weird. So then our food comes. We both ordered eggs our way. Perfect amount of food. Not too much, not too little. I liked that you can get tomatoes or potatoes. I eat tomatoes every day in my breakfast. I got up to refill my coffee. All of them were empty. My cup was half full and the lid was off. Unfortunately, it slipped out of my hand by accident. The cashier guy was hiding in the back so I couldn't tell him there was a spill. So I went to the host guest check in for the hotel and informed her. She was super sweet and was like no worries at all. And she told me she'd have them make more coffee. The cashier guy eventually comes out and starts shaking his head mad at the spill. I informed him that I told someone to bring out a wet floor sign and that I'm sorry. He was a total d-- about it. Like I already felt bad. This man had such a stinky attitude. I don't know his namr but he was hispanic and had short black hair. Honestly not sure what his problem is. Anyways. The chef in the back is a super sweet lady. She brought out more coffee and wished us a Merry Christmas. Hotel review: The hotel is beautiful, clean, has a great gym open 24/7, and the hosts at the front desk are all so sweet. The hotel itself is quite, usually lots of business crowd. Parking is spacious 15/night. They upgraded us free of charge to a corner suite. We had just ran away from the Leta (a hilton hotel, which was a nightmare.) They were so accomodating here. Beds are comfy. Bathroom and room are all spotless. Everything felt new and clean. Felt like we were in a five star hotel, just a Marriott Courtyard; but managers are doing something right. 5 star for hotel. 3 for restaurant. I give it a solid 4 for this place!!!!!

Imagine trying to watch a game or the morning news with the lighting blocking, obscuring your view from every angle.

Courtyard by marriott.... I don't recommend it. It's it's clean it's well decorated and a quietly nice place to sleep. But there's no included breakfast. No bagel, no banana, your breakfast bar, absolutely nothing. Shockingly not even a complimentary coffee. Don't get me wrong. They have beautiful breakfast options. The cheapest thing on the menu is a plain bagel for $8.00. At almost $300 a night. for a single occupancy. This is a joke. And just one more somewhat harsh criticism. When you do have a cup of coffee $3.00.BTW THE VIEW OF THE TV AS YOU TRY TO WATCH. THE NEWS IS OBSCURED BY LIGHTING.IT'S THE MOST ANNOYING THING EVER! I'm actually getting even more irritated as I write this review!!!

We stayed here the weekend that we dropped our daughter off to start college life. It was comfortable, clean, and what we hoped for. The front desk associates were welcoming and very nice to chat with. The lobby has a warm tropical scent, and immediately sets the tone for vacation and relaxation. The people above us sounded like they were doing a rendition of the musical STOMP! If you stay on the lower floor, you will definitely hear the people above you. It didn't really bother us because we were tired enough to zonk out, but it's definitely worth mentioning. We will stay here again the next time that we visit, it was perfect for us.

Super dark room with a view of the parking lot through a fake balcony.

Clean, modern location that has been renovated recently. It's conveniently located near the airport and UCSB. Nice pool area with fire pits and putting greens. Downsides: It's right in the flight path so you hear jets landing early morning and night. No complimentary coffee for guests. No Breakfast bar. (They do have a Starbucks where you can pay $3.80 for a single coffee) Parking is $15 per day, even for Bonvoy members. (Why?) Seems like you get nickel and dimed for everything. Rooms are ok, depending on where they are located. We got one that was north facing and super dark so we switched. If you want a quiet hotel, you'll get it because it seems to be practically deserted compared to the other hotels in the area.

Shower has soap, shampoo, and conditioner on the wall to use. No fussing with small bottles.

My husband and I are so impressed with our room, the staff, and the amenities, and we haven't even been in the room for an hour. Maria at the front desk was so welcoming and warm. She offered us water, extra pillows, and was very sweet. She is a gem. In fact, all the staff we have met so far have been amazing. We will be coming back. We come to Santa Barbara from Orange County to get away from the craziness of the busy city, and our room is the perfect place to relax. Everything is clean. The bathroom is spotless. Very impressed.

This is my first stay at this hotel. I was in SB for some girl time with my daughter for her birthday and did not want to have to rush back home or be laden with heavy traffic. The hotel is conveniently located close to UCSB and close to many restaurants and shopping areas. The interior is clean and inviting. My room was nicely furnished with everything I could possibly need for my short stay and included a mini fridge and microwave. Molly checked us in upon arrival and she was extremely lovely , welcoming and helpful ! Would definitely stay here again.

We chose the Hilton Garden Inn because I have stayed at their properties in several states. This location was good overall, but a few things could be improved. The check in process was easy. We arrived in the evening, and Francine assisted us. I had trouble with my card, but she was very understanding and gave me options until everything was worked out. The hotel and our room were pretty clean. I travel often, and hotel carpets can look disgustingly dirty, but these carpets appeared clean and well maintained. The hotel allows pets, but our room did not smell like animals or have any other unpleasant odors. Our room was a nice size with two double beds and enough open floor space for a small air mattress if needed and permitted. The beds were fairly comfortable. I LOVED having a refrigerator and microwave because many hotels no longer provide microwaves in the rooms. There was no clothes steamer, but I always bring my own. The television also allowed us to connect to streaming services. The showerhead was the worst feature in the room. They should replace it with a detachable handheld showerhead. The sink also drained very slowly. I had seen other guests mention this before selecting the hotel, and unfortunately, I experienced it too. The drains definitely need attention. I requested a corner room away from elevators, ice machines, and heavy foot traffic, and the hotel accommodated me. The outside doors lock after a certain time for safety, which I understand. However, our key card would not open the door. We had to ring the bell and wait for someone to let us in. That sucked and was very inconvenient. They need to repair the card reader. The market near the front desk had snacks, drinks, coffee, espresso, and microwavable meals. That is convenient if you arrive late or do not want to leave the hotel. The Rooftop Bistro was very nice and comfortable, but it closed around 8:30. How do you have a rooftop that nice and close so early? It should stay open later so guests can relax and enjoy drinks. I ordered a salad with chicken, strawberries, and some type of dressing, and it was DELICIOUS! It cost around $27, but the portion was large enough to share. My daughter and I shared it, although I honestly did not want to because it was that good! Breakfast cost about $20 and worked differently from a traditional buffet. You placed an order for hot items such as eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, and oatmeal. Bagels, toast, croissants, fruit, yogurt, and juices were available separately. French toast, omelets, and other à la carte items were not included. The gentleman taking orders was very nice. Victor was GREAT! He explained everything, brought our food to the table, and made sure we had whatever we needed. Self parking was $15 per day, which was not too bad, and EV charging was available. Target, Chipotle, and several other restaurants and shops were directly across the street. The lobby was clean, and the hotel had conference rooms. A volleyball team appeared to be staying there, so it was busy, but I never felt like the staff was too busy to help. The housekeeping employees were also very nice. The pool was small for the size of the hotel, but I was extremely impressed by the pool lift for guests with mobility limitations. I travel often and had never personally noticed this feature at a hotel pool. It allows people with limited mobility to enjoy the pool with their families or independently. The hotel also offers hearing accessible rooms, which I thought was great. Other amenities included connecting rooms, free WiFi, a fitness center, and non smoking rooms. My biggest disappointment was the price. Even with our discounted wedding rate, the hotel was still expensive, and breakfast was not included. For the amount we paid, I wish they had offered complimentary breakfast. Overall, our stay was good. The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, and the staff was helpful. The Rooftop Bistro, delicious salad, and accessibility features were highlights. The showerhead, slow drain, nighttime key card access, and early rooftop closing time need improvement, but we still had a pleasant experience.

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a huge, beautiful lobby that gives the hotel a grand first impression. We were able to check in early, which was a great bonus and made the start of our trip even better. The hotel is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive from UCSB. Our room was spacious and featured high ceiling (around 10feet), making it feel even more open and comfortable. It also included a mini fridge and microwave which was convenient for our stay. The property offers a swimming pool, fitness center, and an on-site restaurant. It's also close to plenty of restaurants and shopping, including Costco, making it easy to grab anything you might need. There is ample on-site parking, though it does come with a daily fee. Overall, this was an excellent stay, and I would definitely choose this hotel again the next time I'm in the area.

The hardware is very dated , 1 single elevator share among guest and house keeping, house keeping don't give a care about guest or manners, they will shove their house keeping cart in your face regardless, the included breakfast is definitely sub standard, with a few of mouthy grumpy kitchen staff somehow loves to tell Asian guest off about how to make waffles and too scare to tell caucasian guests or they lived to bad mouth guest behind their back I. Their native Chinese dialect. The worst staff award goes to their so call "manager" William who fails to recognize returning guests, too scare of waive a $70 fee when higher brand of Hilton hotels have no issue of doing so and worst of all charge me for parking without a parking tag and the fact we have never got charge for parking for past 4 years. When we raised concerns with their upper management, zero response, don't really want to do anything make it right. I guess this is the Hilton standard now. I definitely do not recommend this location or hotel, Hampton Inn is already a lower tier of Hilton brand, they make it even worse with their old furnishings and hotel hardware, yes we saw the sign about their up coming renovations but what good is it if they customer service never improve? We won't be going back and rather try the Hilton garden Inn or other Hilton properties near. We gave it plenty of chances to improve and failed time after time. 1 more note, don't be fool by the old dated furnishings of this hotel, they charge an arm and a leg for staying there because of its location. We absolutely loved our stay back then, so we were excited to come back. The positives first: the ladies at check-in were pleasant and helpful, and we were given a first-floor room with a nice patio overlooking the pool. The lobby, grounds, and pool area are still beautiful, and we enjoyed the live music both nights. We loved the beach/surf vibe. Unfortunately, that's where much of the charm ended. The rooms are in serious need of updating and maintenance. The baseboards were deteriorating, the curtains were dirty and stained, one of the drawers was crooked and difficult to open, and we encountered the same slithering bug twice..once in the shower and again when getting out of the shower. There was also a spider nestled in a web in the corner of the bathroom. The sliding glass door to the bathroom was extremely difficult to open/close, getting roughly stuck on the track, and it wouldn't shut completely. We called the front desk, and a young gentleman came out and very pleasantly tried to fix it. He did his best and improved it slightly, but this is clearly an issue with the entire door and track and not something that could really be fixed with a quick adjustment. The bathroom setup was also baffling. Why put blurred glass as the door between the bedroom and bathroom? When someone turns on the bathroom light, it shines directly into the bedroom and can easily wake someone up. The door itself was also grinding when opening and closing because of the rough track. Then came our experience at the bar/restaurant, which was particularly disappointing. We decided to stay in one evening and enjoy dinner and drinks, so we sat at the bar. We were the only people sitting there, with three bartenders behind the bar, yet not one acknowledged us. The head bartender was making drinks for guests sitting on the patio, walked away to hand them to the server, and then began talking about one of those customers. We overheard her say something along the lines of, "Just spit in her drink." Whether it was intended as a joke or not, that is an incredibly inappropriate thing to say in front of guests...and certainly not something you want to hear from someone handling your food and drinks. After approximately 15 minutes of sitting there without being acknowledged, we finally got someone to take our order. To be fair, both of our drinks were excellent, but the bartender's attitude was cold, unfriendly, and completely lacking in hospitality. It made us feel as though we were an inconvenience rather than guests. Shortly afterward, another couple sat down beside us, and a gentleman who appeared to be the GM approached them and casually said in an unwelcoming voice, "I'll be with you in a second.", like they just didn't want to be botheredz Unfortunately, the bar and restaurant area itself also looked tired and in need of some serious TLC. For a property with such beautiful grounds and so much potential, the condition of the interior spaces was disappointing. We really wanted to love The Leta as much as we loved The Goodland in 2019, but the experience simply didn't live up to our memories. The property still has a beautiful setting, great outdoor spaces, and a fun atmosphere, but the rooms, maintenance, and level of service need significant attention. With some investment and a stronger focus on hospitality, this could once again be a really special place to stay.... but definitely not worth the $972 we paid for two nights.

The pool area provided blowup balls you could play with in the pool. Temperature of pool was perfect on a hot 87 degree day, very refreshing. The cabana itself was very nice. My only critique was the area underneath cabana was tiny pebbled dirt and not paved like rest of pool area. Which makes you need to wear shoes entering and exiting cabana, especially coming out of pool. Your feet will get dirty and tiny pebbles stick to the bottom of your foot. The cabana did come with water bottles for 2. You can get pool service from a staff member who walks around to order drinks and food between 12-2:30pm. We did get the pesto chicken sandwich to split, which was delicious. It also has free WiFi. Towels provided at the pool, they are replenished all day. So don't be afraid to grab 2. The cabana itself is very nice. There are 2 sets of curtain panels on cabana and both offer different types of privacy if you need it. One set of curtains is an open weave to let in wind but still maintains some coverage from sun and the other is more like traditional curtain blocks out all light and view. So if you need to change you could easily do so. Overall experience was a 9/10. Will definitely be booking again before summer ends. Would come back for dinner at the restaurant. I thought I read they also do a s'mores plate by the fire. I would love to try it. The hotel itself looked really nice. Rooms looked upgraded and comfortable. They are also a dog friendly hotel which is a bonus for us. One guest had 3 doggies with them. So if you're looking for a great day pass spot for swimming in Santa Barbara I highly recommend.

Visited Santa Barbra during spring break. The room is $234 (ok very much SB price). Even though…read moreit's a ghost town (very few students left on site) we still have to pay parking for another $15 in a literally empty parking lot. Possibly 2 rooms occupied that night. It's clean and modern decor but dorm vibe. The view is great though possible ucsb has the best campus in the world. We checked in at 5:45 by the time we got our bags out of the car the receptionist has gone. So that means we have no one to ask about anything included time for breakfast. We woke up and came down to the office at 9 just to find out that our breakfast has packed away. Seriously. It's not even a sit down breakfast he explained it's a box to go. What! You can't keep it for 2 rooms guests? Horrible. Nonsense. Nothing is opened during spring break so we literally had to check out to go find breakfast. They still use coffee pods (keurig that we don't do because it tastes bad and trashes the planet). So this is 250 dollars per night dorm room with no pool no lobby no breakfast no hospitality. Shameful.

This place is the campus' best kept secret. Between 11am-1pm you can come and enjoy a delicious…read morelunch here from chef with a culinary background (rare find on campus and IV). Food ranges from risotto of the day, grilled salmon salad, tri-tip torta ect. The faculty eat here regularly (hence the name) which is probably why no one knows about it because its their safe haven from their obnoxious students......sorry. Honestly it's the best food you'll find on campus hands down. It is more formal than one might expect so be prepared to leave a tip and a little pricer comida. Prices range from about $10-$15. It's a little hidden the best way to find it is to walk towards manzanita village coming from the SRB it will be on your left hand side. It's a white building that doesn't really have anything around it and looks like it was built in the 80s. Walk through the main entrance through an outdoor hallway looking deal and you'll come across 2 doors. Open those up and you'll reach a flight of stairs and it's down below. Crazy epic journey hope you don't get lost. Oh best part is they having desserts. Straight pastry chef shit like toasted meringue mocha ice cream pie. I know.....faculty has been holding out.
