The location of this hotel is ideal for the yulefest and walking around town. Everything is automatic and there are no employees here. We didn't get an email at check in time so we had to call but it was a smooth process. A bit loud with vehicles at night and early morning.

Amazing service! Went for our 10 year anniversary and my husbands 40th. The last Marcy was super sweet. She went above and beyond for us and entirely spoiled us which I was not expecting. Very very hospitable and made it a very romantic weekend. Our room had a record player, massive bathroom, large living area and she left us a bottle of wine. They do have an area in the hotel where you can purchase drinks and snack type items. Highly recommend as it's in the main downtown area so you have no reason to need to leave. Very awesome. Would recommend to anyone.

Nice letter from the hotel. Perhaps the cleaning lady.

Very beautiful hotel in the heart of Solvang. Wonderful how you don't have to deal with anyone to get into your room. It's the morning of my 1 day staycation and I still don't know if there is an actual lobby to speak to someone. First off the rooms are gorgeous. Who would think that a room painted partly green could be so beautiful but it is. The room is impeccably clean. The bed is super comfortable and the pillows aren't too hard or too soft. Honestly, for me at least, the beds were way better than those in Las Vegas. Also the bathrooms have great water pressure for your morning or evening showers. Now for the one star subtraction: we likely would have been super excellent to have stayed here if the people upstairs didn't clomp around like water buffalo. We could also hear them talking faintly. So this meant to me that the walls are thinner than I thought. I kid you not the people upstairs must have been an entire family. I would guess with young kids with skateboards since they were evidently riding them in the room since we could hear the wheels rolling above our head. Perhaps management could hput parties of 2 upstairs and larger parties with kids downstairs first when possible. All in all if come back here for the location but I'd definitely see if I could get an upstairs room.

Their pool is heated but of course in the winter, not heated enough. Don't expect the pool from Equinox.. The Jacuzzi is very nicely heated, although of course it can get crowded. The location is nice, not in the middle of Solvang craziness yet close enough for a very short drive or a ~10-15 min to the heart of Solvang. I am appalled that a place that charges SO much treats you this way. What are you paying for? Just the ambiance and to sleep there? They killed 3/4ths of the Ballard experience. Villa Montecito -particularly, Mainstays Luxury Estates:…read more This was a very high-cost stay; planned over many months for my grandmother's 85th birthday. At this price point and in this area (which I have stayed in previously), the experience fell far short of expectations. The primary issue was management. Our main contact, Matt, was dismissive and condescending, most notably on the day of our celebration. Despite clear communication about our large, multi-villa family group, there was a major disconnect between what was planned and what was executed. Management also spoke disparagingly about prior guests in front of our group, raising concerns about how future guests might be treated. The orientation meeting emphasized the owner's wealth and the value of artifacts rather than logistics, guest flow, or service expectations. It felt scrutinizing and unwelcoming, leaving critical operational details unresolved. Matt also made it a point to inform us (for whatever reason he felt relevant) that he himself has multiple vacation rentals... GREAT! So do we... so do plenty of other PEOPLE... so what?!?? You shouldn't need to build credibility in this way. Villa Montecito is not suitable for celebrations or large family gatherings. Approval processes were contradictory: management referred us to the concierge for planning, then later claimed the plans were "not communicated or approved." We were told the owner did not want "random people" entering, despite these being immediate family; making it clear large gatherings are not supported. The concierge was able to provide basic activities, but vendors outside of their familiarity are strictly restricted. For example, the one photographer allowed by management was the only one we could hire but does not offer print-quality images or editing. Hospitality basics were missing. Staff did not introduce themselves, handle luggage, or verify who was staying versus visiting. Several pre-approved guests (including adolescents on our guest list) were stopped at the door on the second day and nearly turned away as "unauthorized guests". Kitchen access was extremely limited. Guests cannot cook independently at all (if you plan to cook at all this is not the place for you); all meals (2x/day) are staff-provided. Food quality was MID at best. We were charged thousands $$ more for extra rooms based on headcount, yet those rooms were locked and inaccessible. Guests ultimately stayed bunked in rooms with their parents and at a nearby second villa. Charges for unusable rooms were never clearly explained. While the property is visually impressive (esp. from the outside), the layout felt segmented and poorly suited for hosting. Preserving untouchable furnishings outweighed creating a space that felt comfortable or conducive to gathering. A few staff were helpful (including Matt's assistant Shannon... probably the best person to deal with) and the setting is a place to be grateful to stand in. However, service, communication, and guest experience (the foundation of a luxury stay) failed. Our family has decades of experience in hospitality and understands service standards. Ultimately, this property did not meet expectations for service, communication, ambiance, or suitability for celebrations. The stress and lack of accommodation during a major family milestone were deeply disappointing. I would not book this property again under any circumstances. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a response in argument to the facts stated above as that seems to be the response for anything less than a 5-star review. ...but I can confirm from experience and so can my 85 year old grandmother (separate conversations) that Matt is extremely unprofessional, rude, dismissive, and a poor reflection of this management company all around.

Home in Puerto Vallarta I don't even know where to start--this home was absolutely amazing, exactly as shown in the pictures, if not even better. My girlfriends and I (a group of 10) planned this trip to celebrate my 50th birthday, and it turned out to be truly unforgettable. We initially had to cancel due to the situation in Puerto Vallarta back in February, but we changed our minds and decided to move forward with the trip. Michele and Matt were incredibly supportive and accommodating in helping us reschedule our stay, which we truly appreciated. The property itself is spectacular--luxurious, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The rooms and bathrooms are large, the beds are extremely comfortable, and everything was spotless and well organized. We genuinely felt treated like royalty. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible staff. Ramon, our chef, and Carlos, our server, made the experience exceptional. They spoiled us daily with delicious food and outstanding service, all while being warm, friendly, funny, and genuinely caring. They truly made our stay even more special. The concierge service with Alexa at MexiTravels was also excellent. Transportation was clean, comfortable, and always on time. The drivers were fun and made every ride enjoyable. While I did find the pricing a bit high for short trips, it was something we were able to discuss and manage. At the beginning, the booking process was a bit confusing for me since I had never rented an entire property with flexible room options. The contract structure was different from other Airbnb experiences I've had, even luxury ones. My advice would be to take your time reading everything carefully and ask for detailed information beforehand to ensure you fully understand the different rates and options. The only real issue we experienced was with the access codes--they didn't always work consistently and had to be reset a few times during our stay. That said, I would absolutely recommend this place with my eyes closed. Everything was wonderful, and I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!
