Super cute and clean hotel that is extremely walkable to the downtown area of Salang. Mini fridge and microwave within the room, comfortable bed and a cute little seating area. They also offer bikes that you can ride around town if you so desire. We did not make use of those as we were happy to walk. Super easy self check-in. My only negative would be that I stayed in room number two, which is closest to Mission Drive, which is the main road thus there is traffic noise. I'm a light sleeper so it was a little distracting, but would probably not bother most.

We had been wanting to visit Solvang for some time and research led us to selecting the Viking Inn to stay. We spent three nights here in a double queen room. They offer keyless entry and sent a text with entry information on checking day. The room was clean and comfortable. It's one of the first places to stay as you arrive in Solvang and everything is a short walk away. We borrowed bikes they offer just to go out and explore a little further out. Definitely recommend and would stay here again.

I see after 3 years you stillll haven't changed the curtains ( dirty) or AC looks dirty , not good

Great place at a great price. My family and I stayed here a few nights just before Christmas. We noticed that it was being renovated, so I took that into account when I reserved a room, but the price was right and my expectations were overall exceeded. This place is on one end of the main road, and everything was conveniently within walking distance. It was right next to a burger/ taco/ shake place that was convenient (though I'm not sure I'd recommend it) and across the street from a convenience store. Parking is motel- style and makes getting to the room convenient. The room itself was clean, if a little spartan. The only things really missing were dressers, enough towel racks, and a safe. We weren't staying that long, so pulling out the suitcases was no big deal. The only concerns we had were the flooring that was splitting in the corners (maybe termite damage?) and the shower water randomly going from pleasantly hot to painfully scalding without warning, which I mentioned at check-out. Overall though, it was a nice place and a bit more inexpensive than competing hotels in Solvang, especially around the holidays. I'd love to see it again once it's been fully renovated.

My husband and I saw this place on a renovation show on HG tv. So we thought we would stay here after we saw how cute the honeymoon suite room looked. We it's small and kinda cute. But downsides are no closet, no shelves or storage places in bedroom or bathroom. Road noise all night very close to the road. A light was shining in through a blind that didn't quite block it. Shower curtain fell down when I was going to shower. Luckily my hubby fixed it. Court yard area was cute but needs more umbrellas cause it was hot here this weekend. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

    Place is falling apart.

Maybe 2.5 stars? Good: - Location! Location! - and location! - easy check-in - free bike rentals - bottled water Not good: There is a sign thanking us for our patience while they fix it up. But, most of what's wrong has nothing to do with remodeling. - 18 yr. old, in great health and shape, had a terribly sore back next day from sleeping on uncomfortable bed - room smelled musty and moldy. Tried the fan in the window, but I don't think the filter has been changed in a while - window facing Main Street without secure lock - shampoo with 3/4 already gone (they don't change mini-bottles in between guests?) - cheap towels and sheets (both are course and beady) - instant coffee? We ended up not showering there because it just felt gross.

When you combine the two, I'm sure the maintenance of the facilities is quite the task. The checkin was through Cloud beds, which meant there was absolutely no personal contact whatsoever. The tub was chipped, the paint was chipped in several places and we could hear every step from our upstairs neighbors (well placed rugs or carpet may have been helpful). That being said, it was clean and reasonably priced. I'm sympathetic to the arduous task it must be to maintain an inn with the tourist and inebriated.

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

I was advised they were having systems issues with their app. Since it was a 3rd party the app was charging me the 3rd party charge. Which was $50 less what I paid to the 3rd party. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Other than the above issue and Check in service I would stay here again. The room was comfortable with the exception of the balcony door not locking.

But each time it also felt like the bare minimum (how many towels do you want; how many coffee packets?) Also had ants in the kitchen and had to text several times to get that taken care of; returned to a room smelling like unpleasant disinfectant and ... ants. Room was otherwise clean and cute. Bed was big and comfortable. Sheets / linens somewhat basic but not at all bad. We were in No. 2, which had a nice sitting area and lots of light if you don't mind everyone walking past on the street seeing you. And they kindly moved someone else who was just arriving around so we could stay put for another night and not switch rooms. Surprisingly quiet from the outside, though. Inside, another story. I don't know what they were doing above us - one can only imagine - but it went until well after midnight and started up again around 7 am. Tromping and banging that made our whole room shake a bit. Didn't hear our neighbors to the side or anything from the courtyard (also cute and a nice place to sit in the morning). All this said, I'd recommend, and I'd stay there again. We looked at a few hotels before choosing this one and it was by far nicer than most of them, with bigger rooms and just a better vibe.

Small hotel but very nice. We came here for girls weekend located close to everything- very…read morewalkable to everywhere in town (it's right off main strip). Room was spacious and clean. Cute table, chairs, microwave and fridge. Bathroom clean We decided we would like to make this an annual trip and we would definitely stay here again!
