Queen Suite - Living room with Futon
    Courtney O.

My family and I stayed at the New Haven Inn in Solvang over the weekend and it was so charming! It is a small 20 unit inn which felt very homey and cozy. The New Haven Inn is located on Alisal Road which is just around the corner from the heart of Solvang where all the shopping and restaurants are located. We stayed in a Queen Suite for 2 nights and it was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The Queen Suite came with a Queen bed in a private room plus a Futon bed in a separate living room. It had a nice big bathroom plus 2 different TVs that were a bit outdated unfortunately. While the room did need some updates, we really enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable - I slept on the Futon and I still got a good night's rest. The room also included a decent sized closet, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and even a coffee maker! There was an ice machine on site too! They offer parking in their parking lot which worked out great both nights for us, but they also offer street parking. The inn was also very quiet at night too which was great! Staff were lovely! They made check in and check out a breeze! They communicated great as well - we accidently left my husband's hoodie behind and they sent me a text notifying me. Luckily, we were able to turn back and grab it. We really appreciated the service! My family and I would definitely stay at the New Haven Inn again! Check them out!

    Wonderful stay (#5).

We just left and had a wonderful stay (#5). We felt so comfortable and at home. So quaint and overall lovely stay. Will come back. Thank you

New Haven Inn was one of the highlights of our Solvang trip. The location is slightly away from the busy main street, which made our stay wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The room felt bright, clean, and surprisingly spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen that added a lot of convenience. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, and the simple yet tasteful decor made the space feel warm and inviting. The only small improvements would be stronger shower pressure and slightly hotter water. Overall, a charming, peaceful stay that we would gladly book again.

The lower rating is due to cleanliness. The bathroom and stains on the bed sheets were the areas of issues. Otherwise, it would be a 4. The facility definitely gives you the quaint holiday Hallmark feel even though decorations are not up yet. You have a choice between checking in with the kiosk or front office. The inn on the outside is welcoming with a cottage vibe. You have fire pits outside that is perfect for this weather. Parking is convenient and great for customers. They have an ice machine and outdoor bathrooms in the common areas. The room was surprisingly modern when you walk in. Everything is set for auto lighting. Here is a LED bathroom mirror! There is a space saver temp control that is pretty loud but gets quieter as it blows longer. The flooring is a beautiful rustic farmhouse laminate, so bring socks! The room is spacious and portioned perfectly with a full bathroom. A refrigerator with a bar area as well as a single closet. Nice older flat screen television with limited channel options. What we didn't like? The walls and ceiling are thin. The people upstairs must have kids, because they won't stop walking around. Since there is not carpeting, the sound resonates throughout our room. The stained sheets and dirty baseboards in the bathroom did not help either. Thank goodness we accidentally booked a double bed room. We slept on the second bed. The location is amazing. It is in walking distance to everything! Seriously, great place if it wasn't the cleanliness issue. As for the thin walls and ceilings, we suggest asking for a top level room when booking.

Took my husband to this Inn for his Birthday weekend. Check-in was easy. They have plenty of parking, some of the spaces might be hard to get out. They have 2 driveways to pull into the Inn. Some people backed in their cars. Luckily when we got there, Tammy checked us in. She gave us the code to get into our room and had the free wi-fit code. In the area across from the office, they had cold waters and ice. Our room #14 was one room away from the street. The room was large and spacious. The bed was veery comfortable. There was a small refrigerator and microwave. They had coffee, but no tea, my husband luckily brought his own. I put the temperature at 68 on cool but in the night, like a lot of places, didn't apply. The bathroom had seen some wear, maybe not the best facets/vanity. The place was walkable to the downtown Solvang but far enough away from any crowds. I would stay here again.

Very cute, clean, and convenient little gem just 10 minutes walking distance from the center of the Solvang hub. I feel like our list of cons was about as long as the pros, but nothing that would deter me from staying again! Pros: -Close enough proximity to easily walk around town, but far enough away to filter out the noise and crowds -Quiet neighborhood ambiance -Contactless check-in/check-out process -Convenient/secure parking -Private patios with private firepits make for a nice setting -Affordable for the Sunday night we stayed -Complimentary bike rentals -Complimentary bottles of water in the room -Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, ice bucket, wine glasses & opener included in room -Makeup towels were a very nice touch -Big shower (though it gave a locker room feel) -Comfy bed/pillows and felt very clean overall -Aesthetically pleasing modern decor Cons: -Took a minute to find the property map to locate our room, as it was not in a very obvious location. Would suggest placing a few more maps around the property on the walls. -AC unit was a total nightmare to figure out. At one point the heat just kept rising and would not stop. Once reset though, it worked great. -Furniture and walls were QUITE scuffed up/damaged. -Floor lamp in corner of our room did not work as the cord looked to be cut/ripped? -Nightstand clock/dock did not work because somebody broke it but nobody has replaced it... -Sound insulation sucks. Thankfully we stayed on a quiet Sunday night, but conversations could be clearly heard from all over the property. Our upstairs neighbors woke us up while they were getting ready at 5am. Just something to be mindful of, if it matters to you. -The only table located on our patio was to hide the gas line, away from the firepit. Would be nice to include one with your seating area. -No way to turn off patio light while using the firepit on private patio rooms. The light was BRIGHT and attracted bugs, which killed the mood a bit. Overall, we enjoyed the ease of proximity and affordability of the property. I would recommend this stay to anyone who is easy-going and able to adjust/overlook the small negatives. Great place if you're looking for a comfy/clean place to sleep, while being able to enjoy an overnight trip in the town hub, without having to break the bank.

My son and his new bride stayed here after their wedding. STELLAR! Huge room and beautifully decorated. Comfy bed and furniture. The grounds are impeccable. Friendly helpful staff. Right in the center of Solvang walking distance to EVERYTHING. Truly a fabulous stay for the newlyweds. A+

Good: -located a short walk to all the "stuff" which cut down on the downtown noise. -contactless check in -fridge and microwave -room was decent sized -the decor was super cute Not so great: -they charge a crazy fee for wanting to check in early or leave late. Which .. fine, but just be aware. I've never stayed somewhere that charges a fee to check in early if they have the room. -the coffee maker is the dinky little one from the olden days where you put the prefilled filter packets in. Sooo .. terrible coffee. I bring my own k-cups everywhere but obviously couldn't use them here. -the bed and pillows were nottttt comfortable, I felt like a 90 year old with the cricks in mahhh neck! -it's like a ghost town, maybe because of all the contactless stuff, there isn't staff onsite all day and night so if you need something during the times they aren't there, too bad. The office is also super hard to find; the signs make no sense. -there are not many amenities here, so the fire pits not having propane or being hooked up was a bummer. -it was pretty stompy with the people above us. -the lamps have a usb port but with the latest few apple products, it will not work with your charger and there is not an outlet within reach of bed. The bad: - Our room was just ... not clean. There was stuff on the towels, dust on the cabinet trims etc. -The bathroom was basically falling apart; the towel racks and toilet paper holder were hanging on by a thread. There were rust stains all over the baseboards and it just kind of looked gross. -The toiletries... just plastic bottles they poured stuff into that they slapped labels on saying shampoo, conditioner or soap. A lot of people have sensitive skin or allergies and regardless, it's just kind of gnarly to put mystery liquid on. For $200+ a night, not what I would have expected. Hotels in Solvang are expensive; I get it. But for close to $600 for two days, I expected a lot more. While we didn't have a terrible time here, I probably would not stay here again.

We stayed here two weeks ago. Each room is slightly different. Each room has its own door lock with passcode that you get via text when you check in on line. The hotel is contactless unless you need something. There is an office and housekeeping on site. The hotel is quiet and charming. Most rooms have a gas fire pit and a private patio. Room 17 faces the back parking lot with about 8 parking spaces. Even with the lot being full, I could not hear any of the vehicles in the parking lot from my room. The rear parking lot also has 4 Tesla chargers. The room was spacious with a large flat screen TV (plenty of channels). The bed was a king and very comfortable. The refrigerator was set at a cool temperature and kept our drinks very chilled. The rooms A/C was easy to operate with a remote and could be turned down to 62 degrees. The door for the room had three frosted glass panels. Some light would reflect through the panels at night so the room was not pitch black. That is the only complaint I have against the hotel. It didnt bother me but my wife had to wear an eye mask. I will gladly stay here in the future.

Stayed here recently for a week and on a couple other occassions on a business trips in the area. The Inn sits just far enough off the main tourist areas its very peaceful, extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean the property and grounds. Great staff, helpful, friendly and professional. They are quick to respond and very considerate. Over my three spearate stays I've overnighted in three of the ten rooms, and all were very good. King suite upstairs balcony a lot of space over two floors with another queen bed downstairs with a small seating area. This suite is very comfortable with a great shower upstairs and a tub down. A Queen room with a sleeper sofa downstairs in back is very quiet and comfortable. This room is also nicely appointed like all the rooms, the bathroom is very nice and also a nice walk in shower, bathing area. King room with a sleeper sofa upstair with a small front porch sitting area right outside the front door, this room is also very quiet in the back, so little to no road noise. Again the bed is very comfortable with nice amenities throughout the room. The bathroom area is also very nice and a good walk in shower. This is like my go to spot in this area, when comparing to other places at comparable values. New Haven is hard to beat. 4.5 Stars - rounded up for the exceptional staff who all went above and beyond during my various stays. 00848

I read through some of the negative reviews before booking, and honestly, I think they completely missed the mark. This hotel sits right at the beginning of the Solvang strip, and in my opinion, it's the perfect location. You're just steps away from all the shops, restaurants, and even one of the local breweries, but far enough from the center of town that you can actually enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. If you're someone who insists on staying right in the middle of all the action, this may not be the spot for you--but don't expect much quiet over there! The hotel has been newly renovated, and our room was adorable, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly accommodating and quick to respond to anything we needed. They truly made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The property itself isn't huge, but they did an excellent job making the most of the space. There's a cute full-service bar with indoor and outdoor seating, a café offering breakfast, pastries, coffee, and a surprisingly good selection of food throughout the day. The lobby also has a convenient grab-and-go market, and outside you'll find a cozy fire pit lounge with games and a relaxing water feature that makes for a great place to unwind in the evening. There isn't a pool, but honestly, that's not why you come to Solvang. If you're looking for outdoor adventures, you're just a short drive from Lake Cachuma and the beach. But let's be real--most people come here for the amazing food, wine, shopping, and the charming Danish village atmosphere, and this hotel puts you close to all of it. I'm actually surprised there aren't more reviews for this property because it was completely sold out during our stay, and now I understand why. Out of the several Hilton properties I stayed at during my trip this week, this one was easily my favorite. Great job to the entire team! You all set the standard for hospitality. Hopefully, the San Francisco Hilton team can take a few notes from you!

We were able to use points for a free stay and were pleasantly surprised by every aspect of the stay. The pool area was a highlight, especially with kids. The pool was clean and well maintained, with plenty of towels, umbrellas, loungers, and cabanas available even during the peak afternoon sun. The staff came around with cold waters and Otter Pops for the kids, which was such a thoughtful touch and made it feel a little more special. Our room was clean and modern with plenty of space for our family of four, plus a large patio facing the pool that we really enjoyed. There was some visible water damage in the bathroom, and you can tell that underneath the renovations the property has the bones of an older motel-style building. That said, it's been updated really well and is probably about as nice as you could imagine a hotel of this style being in Solvang. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Another small detail we loved was the privacy doorbell system on each room rather than having housekeeping knock loudly on the door -- especially nice when traveling with kids. There's also a restaurant connected to the hotel that offers room service and can deliver food right to the pool, which is incredibly convenient when everyone is having too much fun swimming to get dressed and go out. Overall, Hotel Corque hits a really nice balance: cute and upscale without being stuffy, extremely convenient, family-friendly, and right in the heart of Solvang. We'd definitely stay here again.

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

I thought that if would calm down as it got later but no. The people above must have been chasing a child around all night. As for the breakfast I would just drop it all together. I have stayed at many mediocre hotels that do breakfast so much better. Overall not the worst stay ever but was very disappointing. Don't know if I was stay again.

Check in process can be challenging. They text me the same day of check in to ask me for my email and a credit card. I was not comfortable replying as I thought it might be spam. I waited until I arrived. I had to call a number, and provide my credit card for incidentals over the phone. I was hoping they would have a check in machine similar to vegas hotels since no live staff. It was pretty loud to hear as another group was trying to check in too. I am giving a 3 due to service. The balcony door's lock was not working. I text them when we checked in to report issue with no response. The hotel room was beautiful and pleasant. I loved the nespresso coffee, the lounge area. They also had a reading lounge. Everything was artistic with great color, very new and clean. Another issue I had was that I booked through a 3rd party and prepaid room when over night I received an extra charge notification. When I called in the morning around 6:30 am I was advised no manger was available until 7 am and someone would call me then. I waited until 7:30 am as no one called me I called again. I was advised they were having systems issues with their app. Since it was a 3rd party the app was charging me the 3rd party charge. Which was $50 less what I paid to the 3rd party. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Other than the above issue and Check in service I would stay here again. The room was comfortable with the exception of the balcony door not locking.

The pool and hot tub looked very inviting but were always busy so we didn't use it . Our room was a nice size and offered a small fridge, microwave and Keurig. No bath tub but nice shower. Upon checking in, we were told that the lounge & bar would be closed all weekend. This was a bummer, it is one of the reasons we booked the hotel originally. When we got to the room, the smell was awful. It smelled musty and moldy. We opened the window and turned on the air, that helped not one bit. So, we asked for a different room. They accommodated this request quickly, which was great. The hotel advertises electric vehicle charging stations. While this is true, they are NOT the fast charging ones, rather they are the type you install at your house. This means charging can take several hours. Thiscreates an annoying backlog situation - no one is going to sit around for hours while their vehicle charges. Inevitably, you go into town and return when you're ready, at which point your car is either still charging OR it has finished charging, but is now taking up a charger that might be needed. No one is going to run back to the hotel to unplug and move their car. Also, there are only two chargers and they are in the tightest, most inconvenient location in the parking lot. When I opened my trunk to put my bags in, the trunk lid HIT a large pipe running above the parking spot. They need far more chargers installed if they're going to advertise this amenity. When we returned to the hotel on our first evening, we got ZERO sleep. For one, the AC is very, very loud and goes off and on all night. On top of that, and this is what spoiled things actually, a dog in an adjoining room barked loudly ALL NIGHT LONG. It was unbearable. I called the front desk several times, and they didn't really seem to understand the gravity of the situation. They just said yea, it's very frustrating, we're trying to contact the owners, but nothing really resolved. We got no sleep and it was so frustrating. Operating on no sleep, we went out the next day to explore the town. When it got hot in the afternoon hours, we returned to the hotel to relax and get a nap in before dinner. But guess what? MORE DOG BARKING. For hours. And the same spiel from the front desk and management. So, no naps for us. It was beyond frustrating. After all that, the management offered no compensation or anything. They really didn't even address the dog barking except when I made the phone call to the front desk. It was all empty apologies and no action. All in all, it was a frustrating experience and I would hesitate to book there again.

We had to call several times: For more towels, for more instant coffee (there's an electric kettle in a small kitchen with a microwave), and to figure out how to work the TV (which had a box literally hanging off of it and dangling down the wall), apparently not an uncommon issue since there's a note saying to call before 9 pm if the TV won't work. We also had to specifically request the breakfast and 2-for-1 wine tasting coupons advertised. That said, each time someone helpfully turned up (or offered to do so). But each time it also felt like the bare minimum (how many towels do you want; how many coffee packets?) Also had ants in the kitchen and had to text several times to get that taken care of; returned to a room smelling like unpleasant disinfectant and ... ants. Room was otherwise clean and cute. Bed was big and comfortable. Sheets / linens somewhat basic but not at all bad. We were in No. 2, which had a nice sitting area and lots of light if you don't mind everyone walking past on the street seeing you. And they kindly moved someone else who was just arriving around so we could stay put for another night and not switch rooms. Surprisingly quiet from the outside, though. Inside, another story. I don't know what they were doing above us - one can only imagine - but it went until well after midnight and started up again around 7 am. Tromping and banging that made our whole room shake a bit. Didn't hear our neighbors to the side or anything from the courtyard (also cute and a nice place to sit in the morning). All this said, I'd recommend, and I'd stay there again. We looked at a few hotels before choosing this one and it was by far nicer than most of them, with bigger rooms and just a better vibe.

The property has a spacious lobby, plenty of outdoor seating with cozy fire pits, a nice swimming pool with a Jacuzzi, and a complimentary breakfast served daily from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. One of our favorite features was the peaceful setting. Behind the hotel is a small hillside, which gives the property a quiet, secluded feel surrounded by nature. In the evenings, we loved relaxing by the fire pits, enjoying takeout dinner paired with some local wines. The pool area was well maintained, with plenty of fresh towels and ample lounge chairs. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety of options, including bread, omelets, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, muffins, oatmeal, and fresh coffee. They also offer a 24/7 coffee station in the lobby along with complimentary apples, which was a nice touch. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was very cozy, and the hotel was quiet at night, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. There's also a great brewery nearby that's worth checking out for good food and drinks.
