Love the architecture! It feels like you're in Europe.

Wednesday, 12-18-2024: Check in was quick & easy. The young man , who checked us in was very pleasant and hospitable. He had us check off our choices for their continental breakfast and choose the time to have it delivered. We chose hard boiled eggs, string cheese, cereal, yogurt, a pastry, and orange juice. Coffee was in the room. The room was spacious and clean with a king size bed. The bed was very comfortable. We brought our own pillows from home. There was a roomy dresser available for our clothes and other items. There was a small refrigerator but, unfortunately, no microwave oven. The bathroom was pristine and roomy. We were glad it wasn't too far from the office and it was on the ground floor. We had already parked in front of it when we checked in. How convenient! Breakfast was simple and delivered promptly at the appointed time. It was a good way to start the day for hoofing it around Solvang. We would definitely stay here again. The location is ideal, too! Sorry the photos I took of the room were blurry so I deleted them. It met our needs and didn't strain the pocketbook. Good value for your money!

We had a really nice overnight stay here. It's essentially a motel, but I love how the exterior is built to look like a Danish mini-village. We got a King Room for a good price, and it was quite large and immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, and furnishings all seemed fairly modern and updated. The bathroom had a shower only (no tub), but it was very clean and well-maintained. There was also a separate dressing/vanity area, so it almost felt like a suite. The room we got was at the very front of the hotel, with a small patio table and a couple of chairs -- it felt like we had our own little cottage. I was afraid the heater might not be enough for such a large room, but it was more than adequate, keeping things at a comfortable temperature. I also appreciated that it wasn't positioned where it would blow directly on the bed -- that can be a real sleep disruptor. Location is great -- very central, within easy walking distance of most shops and restaurants. Plenty of parking when we visited. Staff was pleasant, although we didn't interact with them much. The pool was under renovation when we visited, but it would've been too cold to use it anyway. Wi-fi was pretty slow, which was one of the only negatives (download speeds generally less than 10 Mbps). It also would've been nice to have a Keurig machine -- the coffee in the room and the lobby was mediocre at best. Overall, this is a great option for a Solvang trip. We'll definitely consider it again next time we visit!

I love our 2 story room. It's huge. Got big tv upstairs and downstairs. And have couch in the leaving room. The only thing I don't like is the bathroom is downstairs. We have to go downstairs to go pee at night. It should be upstairs next to the bed. But I still like it. It's fun and very comfy. And easy access to downtown.

I love the fact it's dog friendly. They have a secret garden for dogs. It was simple cute hotel. Every morning a continental breakfast was delivered to our do. Would absolutely stay again.

What a great place to stay in a great town. This was my first time in Solvang and we stayed here. Initially, they gave us a room with 2 queen beds, but we reserved a room with a king size. We had to go back and straighten it out but it wasn't a big deal. It was a good room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Every room gets a fresh Danish pastry in the morning! Solvang is a Dutch tourist town and most of the place reflects the Dutch architecture, this Inn is no exception. The grounds are very well kept and beautiful. The Royal Copenhagen Inn is close to many restaurants and bakeries, so it's easy to walk to most places. Definitely recommended!

The hubby and I enjoyed our stay at the Royal Copenhagen in Solvang, CA. This was his second time staying here. The first time for him was in December when several of his family members stayed here in different rooms. I finally had a chance to come to visit Solvang and we chose the RCI. I like the Danish architecture of the Inn. My hubby described the front desk guy as being kinda grumpy. I think he is more of a "no nonsense" type. There are no microwaves in the room so, I had to go ask the front desk guy to warm up my food for a minute. He was OK to do it. Glad there was a fridge though. I was able to get a good night's rest in the bed. I did not need the ear plugs I brought as it was quiet even though our room was by a stairway. They give you a list of breakfast items that are available (continental) and pack it up for you in a bag and place it on a chair in front of your door in the morning, We selected hard boiled eggs, decaf, Danish pastries and orange juice. The decaf is in a packet and you brew it in the little coffee maker in the room. The room and restroom was clean. Toiletries are very basic and we were missing conditioner. The lady at the desk in the AM was kind and apologetic. There are some activity options outside like giant connect four, cornhole, and chess. In the warmer months, there's the pool. As for parking, there was free parking onsite. There was a game we wanted to see on TV one evening but, the cable did not pick up CBS and that's OK. In the lobby, there's helpful maps to help navigate around the village and magazines regarding the Santa Ynez Valley. I'm sure we'll stay here again in the future but will bring our own toiletries. Tak skal du have! (Danish for thank you!)

Older hotel, but it's kept fairly clean and maintained. The location is perfect, it's right in the middle of Solvang, very close to everything. They have activities like golf, table tennis, chess, etc to keep your kids occupied. The breakfast was not impressive, just some cold danishes, yogurts and string cheese. Would of be nice to have something warm served with it. Will probably stay here again when visiting, mostly for it's location.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Royal Copenhagen Inn last season and we had an incredible time which was made especially memorable due to the wonderful and accommodating service. We want to give special recognition to Miguel who patiently and politely answered our questions and went out of his way (even on the simplest requests such as microwaving our food) to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. We've never had service this exceptional from any stay in the past! Our room was very spacious and had a large king-sized bed for maximum comfort. The inn provides free breakfast every morning and you get to select them from a decent list of options. The inn is located in a very central location of Solvang, making every other shop extremely walkable and adding to the postive experience. And did I mention how beautiful and graceful the architecture / design of Royal Copenhagen Inn is? You will definitely love this place considering the service, location, amenities, and price!

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

Check in process can be challenging. They text me the same day of check in to ask me for my email and a credit card. I was not comfortable replying as I thought it might be spam. I waited until I arrived. I had to call a number, and provide my credit card for incidentals over the phone. I was hoping they would have a check in machine similar to vegas hotels since no live staff. It was pretty loud to hear as another group was trying to check in too. I am giving a 3 due to service. The balcony door's lock was not working. I text them when we checked in to report issue with no response. The hotel room was beautiful and pleasant. I loved the nespresso coffee, the lounge area. They also had a reading lounge. Everything was artistic with great color, very new and clean. Another issue I had was that I booked through a 3rd party and prepaid room when over night I received an extra charge notification. When I called in the morning around 6:30 am I was advised no manger was available until 7 am and someone would call me then. I waited until 7:30 am as no one called me I called again. I was advised they were having systems issues with their app. Since it was a 3rd party the app was charging me the 3rd party charge. Which was $50 less what I paid to the 3rd party. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Other than the above issue and Check in service I would stay here again. The room was comfortable with the exception of the balcony door not locking.

A Perfect Start to the New Year! Stay Dates: Dec 31 - Jan 2…read moreWe couldn't have asked for a better place to ring in the New Year than The Vinland Hotel and Lounge. From the moment we checked in on New Year's Eve, the atmosphere was welcoming, upscale, and festive. What we loved: * The Lounge: Having the lounge right on-site was a game changer for New Year's Eve. The drinks were expertly crafted, and the vibe was sophisticated yet high-energy. It was the perfect spot to celebrate without having to worry about transport. * The Rooms: Our room was spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable. After the late-night celebrations, the bed provided a fantastic night's sleep. * Location: The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the area. We loved being able to walk to local shops and restaurants during our stay. * The Staff: Every team member we encountered was professional and genuinely friendly, even during a busy holiday weekend. Waking up on January 1st in such a beautiful, well-maintained hotel set exactly the right tone for the year ahead. If you're looking for a blend of style, comfort, and great service, I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back!

On April 9, I cancelled my reservation. On the 10th I received an email from their manager Katie F to call I with my credit card information for the refund due to a change in their system. On April 11, I called to provide my information. The person I spoke with was quite rude until she learned that Katie was the person that told me to call it. I provided my card information. However, I never received a refund. On April 18th I emailed Katie regarding the refund but haven't heard back as of today, May 1.

We had to call several times: For more towels, for more instant coffee (there's an electric kettle in a small kitchen with a microwave), and to figure out how to work the TV (which had a box literally hanging off of it and dangling down the wall), apparently not an uncommon issue since there's a note saying to call before 9 pm if the TV won't work. We also had to specifically request the breakfast and 2-for-1 wine tasting coupons advertised. That said, each time someone helpfully turned up (or offered to do so). But each time it also felt like the bare minimum (how many towels do you want; how many coffee packets?) Also had ants in the kitchen and had to text several times to get that taken care of; returned to a room smelling like unpleasant disinfectant and ... ants. Room was otherwise clean and cute. Bed was big and comfortable. Sheets / linens somewhat basic but not at all bad. We were in No. 2, which had a nice sitting area and lots of light if you don't mind everyone walking past on the street seeing you. And they kindly moved someone else who was just arriving around so we could stay put for another night and not switch rooms. Surprisingly quiet from the outside, though. Inside, another story. I don't know what they were doing above us - one can only imagine - but it went until well after midnight and started up again around 7 am. Tromping and banging that made our whole room shake a bit. Didn't hear our neighbors to the side or anything from the courtyard (also cute and a nice place to sit in the morning). All this said, I'd recommend, and I'd stay there again. We looked at a few hotels before choosing this one and it was by far nicer than most of them, with bigger rooms and just a better vibe.

I typically try to stay at Hilton properties when I travel as much as I can. This location is very clean, has a modern feel and it seems remodeled recently, the staff is very friendly as well. Hampton Inn & Suites also give you a nice complementary breakfast and free parking, this is a great value. My room was very nice, clean, modern style. The rooms come with a mini fridge, coffee maker as well as a microwave, everything you need. The bed and pillows are comfy, the bathroom is nice and large with a full glass shower. This property also has a small Business center, a nice lobby, a pantry for snacks and misc. items. They also have a great gym here, which is a big plus in my book. They have a Precor FTS glide multi function weight machine as well as free weights, treadmills, elliptical machines and a Peloton bike. The only thing that I would improve here is adding a second bench so if there are more than one person trying to use it, other than that a great gym and have all you need for a great workout. Next time I am in the area, I will for sure be staying here once again, great property. Enjoy!
