Overall I love this place. My girlfriend and I combed through 4 hotels in Solvang and looked through the photos and reviews and have that every one of it had bug issue from the pictures posted. All except this one, which is the main reason why we decided on the one. Plus the reviews were fairly great as well. I really enjoy the contactless check in. In opinion it makes everything super simple and convenient when everything works smoothly. The hotel pretty much will give you the check in detail along with the code to your door and the checkout information via text or email based on your preference the morning of the day of your first reservation. You just arrive and go in. They have a small parking lot for the guests but you can pretty much park any spot around the town that doesn't have overnight restriction. The entire place was neat, clean, and no apparent messiness. Such a cute studio looking room too. The only thing that could be a complaint would be the thin wall between rooms and the outside. You can kind of easily hear noises from the other end. But which is why they prepare us with two sets of earplugs knowing it. So that solution is why I am not complaining about it, plus the noises pretty much died down by 10 pm when everyone is sleeping anyways. P.S. you can't write about a hotel review without talking about the shower! It's all about the shower and this inn has some amazing shower radius with perfect hot water after a chilly evening air. It's a small town so all shop closed around 5:30 - 6:00 pm. But I would definitely recommend this place as an option.

Great place, very convenient location. Walking distance around everything. Room was nice and large. Stayed in room number one. They point out that the parking is in the back. Which I did I fact park there, yet I was also nervous I would get towed, since there was no way of showing my car was in fact with our room, if that makes sense. Another thing, we got there at check in at 4pm. The house keeping didn't even clean our room yet, she was in another room with all her supplies in our room, yet with nothing done yet. We had to wait outside in the court yard with all our belongings while she quickly and not so greatly cleaned our room. She was rude and didn't let us know when it was finished as well, she just went on to the next room. When checking out, she was impatiently waiting for us to leave to clean the room. I wonder why she didn't get it done that fast before we checked in, not professional at all unfortunately. The blinds to cover the windows, just not on the sides, so if you are not a morning person and want to sleep in. This might not be the place e for you, as the rooms get super bright, exactly at sunrise. We looked everywhere for an ice machine, I'm sorry but this should just be a give. At every hotel.

Cute little 8 room hotel. It's updated and clean. There's no office to check in, just text the hotel and they will respond. It's in a great central location in downtown Solvang, walkable to everything. The hotel gives you a coupon for a breakfast pastry and coffee/tea per guest at Olsen Bakery. They also give you a 2 for 1 wine tasting coupon that can be used at many wineries. We had a few issues but someone came quickly to resolve them. The sheets are very scratchy and you can tell it's not good quality but for the price and location I guess it's ok. We stayed in rooms 3 and 4 which were both king beds and can be joined if you prefer. There's also an extra door you can use for the communal patio.

Convenient tv with enough channels. Kuereg and hot water kettle.

This is one of my favorite spots because of its location. It makes me feel like I live in town instead of just visiting.

We're here for one night. And this is a very simple basic room. Very clean. With a refer. All White. The TV only gets one channel. The office doesn't answer at 8 pm. I won't call the emergency number for a tv. I see previous users had a voucher at Olsens Bakery but nothing with our key. No worries. You can hear your neighbors but not so much tonight. The bed is fine and if the shower is good it will work out ok. The inn is cute.

My daughters and I stayed at the Atterdag Inn in Solvang for one night on November 23, 2020. Let me start with the bad... The walls are so thin. Get some of those silicone earplugs. There are just a few parking spots directly behind the Atterdag Inn... otherwise, there is a free public lot with a short walking distance. I did NOT like the lack of an additional security lock or even a latch on the door. Especially now that I no longer have the male companion that I thought would always be in my life... not cool. + our room was not ready at 3PM and when we got to the door, I felt like we had rushed the maid, but she said that all she had left to do was vacuum. Neutral... + many people may complain about have a REAL (i.e. old-fashioned key), but that's part of the charm to the area in my opinion + I laugh because one person referred to the rooms as being "straight of an Ikea catalog"... so true, but I dig the modern look as long as it's not the main theme in my house. Simplicity helped me relax more, believe it or not. Now onto the good... + I found the cheapest rate online directly through their website for room 6 for $113.38 (taxes and fees included). It's a king room with bunk beds, a private bathroom, dining table with four chairs, small fridge, a flatscreen, Roman shades for privacy as there are a few windows, and an adjustable hot/cold air unit. + contactless check-in... A nice lady called me while I was driving into Solvang a few hours before our allotted check-in. For check-out by 11AM, I just left the door unlocked and the key on the dining table. + mostly clean facilities including the grounds + several good eateries and shopping within walking distance... for lunch, I recommend the Copenhagen Sausage Garden. Dinner at Succulent Café. + free WIFI with instructions on an info card in the room + high ceilings and semi-spacious room + a complimentary, light breakfast provided courtesy of Olsen's on Mission Drive (a Danish pastry and either a juice, milk or coffee)

We had a lovely stay in our clean, simple, delightful room at the Atterdag, and happy to have easy access to our vehicle, parked right outside. Nice bedding and furniture, also enjoyed the Adirondack chairs in the sunny courtyard and the cable TV. Heater was responsive and effective, too! Location is also perfect, adjacent to everything yet not noisy in our opinion. It would have been nice to have a fan in the bathroom, or something noise cancelling, since walls seemed thin and our bathroom windows opened to the courtyard. Would have also appreciated a microwave to go with the refrigerator and kettle. We definitely enjoyed a "hygge" vaca on a perfect spring weather weekend. Thanks!

Lovely overnight stay at Atterdag Inn in Solvang. It's a small boutique inn managed by Hamlet Inn. They have signs posted that the office/reception is at Hamlet Inn, it was a short 5-minute walk so it wasn't so bad. I just wished that they informed us ahead of time that the reception was located in a different area. There is ample free parking at the back -- 6 slots and there are free parking lots close by too. There are only a few rooms (less than 10, I think) that surround the courtyard. Location was close to everything but away from the main road. The price per night was very reasonable for the size of the room and bathroom. There were also table and chairs, wine glasses and small fridge for use. Bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. My only complaints were the following: 1. Poor sound-proofing -- we could hear foot steps from the room above and the sound of the TV in the room beside us. 2. The toilet seat was sliding a little bit, they need to tighten the bolts and the flusher/plunger is a bit wonky too. Keys are a bit old school -- you get a real key that you can just leave in the room when you check-out. You also get a breakfast voucher for Olsen's Bakery across Hamlet in -- a choice of danish pastry and beverage that you can either dine in or get it to go. Overall, would stay here again.. just hope we don't get noisy neighbors upstairs or beside us.

Amazing hotel. Room was very clean and spacious. I had no problems whatsoever. I would definitely stay here again. Photos I took attached

Pro's; Everything is close by walking distance. Cute room. Con's; No microwave, horrible musty smell, water damage bathroom plus suspicious stain on door. Other guests believe it's blood stains from previous review. Should replace door. No office. TV doesn't work. Hard bed. We could hear the conversation next room over.

I enjoyed my stay here! I will definitely add this to my most favorite place to stay in Solvang. The bedroom was big, and the ceiling was high. The entire place is clean. The bed was so comfortable. There was a big table in the middle of the room with long benches. They have a small designated parking space for the guests. All the wineries and restaurants are working distance. Overall, I love this place!

I read through some of the negative reviews before booking, and honestly, I think they completely missed the mark. This hotel sits right at the beginning of the Solvang strip, and in my opinion, it's the perfect location. You're just steps away from all the shops, restaurants, and even one of the local breweries, but far enough from the center of town that you can actually enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. If you're someone who insists on staying right in the middle of all the action, this may not be the spot for you--but don't expect much quiet over there! The hotel has been newly renovated, and our room was adorable, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly accommodating and quick to respond to anything we needed. They truly made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The property itself isn't huge, but they did an excellent job making the most of the space. There's a cute full-service bar with indoor and outdoor seating, a café offering breakfast, pastries, coffee, and a surprisingly good selection of food throughout the day. The lobby also has a convenient grab-and-go market, and outside you'll find a cozy fire pit lounge with games and a relaxing water feature that makes for a great place to unwind in the evening. There isn't a pool, but honestly, that's not why you come to Solvang. If you're looking for outdoor adventures, you're just a short drive from Lake Cachuma and the beach. But let's be real--most people come here for the amazing food, wine, shopping, and the charming Danish village atmosphere, and this hotel puts you close to all of it. I'm actually surprised there aren't more reviews for this property because it was completely sold out during our stay, and now I understand why. Out of the several Hilton properties I stayed at during my trip this week, this one was easily my favorite. Great job to the entire team! You all set the standard for hospitality. Hopefully, the San Francisco Hilton team can take a few notes from you!

The pool was clean and well maintained, with plenty of towels, umbrellas, loungers, and cabanas available even during the peak afternoon sun. The staff came around with cold waters and Otter Pops for the kids, which was such a thoughtful touch and made it feel a little more special. Our room was clean and modern with plenty of space for our family of four, plus a large patio facing the pool that we really enjoyed. There was some visible water damage in the bathroom, and you can tell that underneath the renovations the property has the bones of an older motel-style building. That said, it's been updated really well and is probably about as nice as you could imagine a hotel of this style being in Solvang. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Another small detail we loved was the privacy doorbell system on each room rather than having housekeeping knock loudly on the door -- especially nice when traveling with kids. There's also a restaurant connected to the hotel that offers room service and can deliver food right to the pool, which is incredibly convenient when everyone is having too much fun swimming to get dressed and go out. I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

My neighbor was snoring loudly so I heard him. Would def stay here again.

Back to the room furnishing were all hard and uncomfortable. The bed made a loud pop any time you moved. But the thing that ruined it for me was that you could hear every thing happing in the building in the room. So there was little rest and Less relaxation. I thought that if would calm down as it got later but no. The people above must have been chasing a child around all night. As for the breakfast I would just drop it all together. I have stayed at many mediocre hotels that do breakfast so much better. Overall not the worst stay ever but was very disappointing. Don't know if I was stay again.

Check in process can be challenging. They text me the same day of check in to ask me for my email and a credit card. I was not comfortable replying as I thought it might be spam. I waited until I arrived. I had to call a number, and provide my credit card for incidentals over the phone. I was hoping they would have a check in machine similar to vegas hotels since no live staff. It was pretty loud to hear as another group was trying to check in too. I am giving a 3 due to service. The balcony door's lock was not working. I text them when we checked in to report issue with no response. The hotel room was beautiful and pleasant. I loved the nespresso coffee, the lounge area. They also had a reading lounge. Everything was artistic with great color, very new and clean. Another issue I had was that I booked through a 3rd party and prepaid room when over night I received an extra charge notification. When I called in the morning around 6:30 am I was advised no manger was available until 7 am and someone would call me then. I waited until 7:30 am as no one called me I called again. I was advised they were having systems issues with their app. Since it was a 3rd party the app was charging me the 3rd party charge. Which was $50 less what I paid to the 3rd party. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Other than the above issue and Check in service I would stay here again. The room was comfortable with the exception of the balcony door not locking.

The pool and hot tub looked very inviting but were always busy so we didn't use it . Our room was a nice size and offered a small fridge, microwave and Keurig. No bath tub but nice shower. The best thing about this place is the location and how it's walking distance to lots of restaurants, bakeries, wine tasting and shopping.

Upon checking in, we were told that the lounge & bar would be closed all weekend. This was a bummer, it is one of the reasons we booked the hotel originally. When we got to the room, the smell was awful. It smelled musty and moldy. We opened the window and turned on the air, that helped not one bit. So, we asked for a different room. They accommodated this request quickly, which was great. The hotel advertises electric vehicle charging stations. While this is true, they are NOT the fast charging ones, rather they are the type you install at your house. This means charging can take several hours. Thiscreates an annoying backlog situation - no one is going to sit around for hours while their vehicle charges. Inevitably, you go into town and return when you're ready, at which point your car is either still charging OR it has finished charging, but is now taking up a charger that might be needed. No one is going to run back to the hotel to unplug and move their car. Also, there are only two chargers and they are in the tightest, most inconvenient location in the parking lot. When I opened my trunk to put my bags in, the trunk lid HIT a large pipe running above the parking spot. They need far more chargers installed if they're going to advertise this amenity. When we returned to the hotel on our first evening, we got ZERO sleep. For one, the AC is very, very loud and goes off and on all night. On top of that, and this is what spoiled things actually, a dog in an adjoining room barked loudly ALL NIGHT LONG. It was unbearable. I called the front desk several times, and they didn't really seem to understand the gravity of the situation. They just said yea, it's very frustrating, we're trying to contact the owners, but nothing really resolved. We got no sleep and it was so frustrating. Operating on no sleep, we went out the next day to explore the town. When it got hot in the afternoon hours, we returned to the hotel to relax and get a nap in before dinner. But guess what? MORE DOG BARKING. For hours. And the same spiel from the front desk and management. So, no naps for us. It was beyond frustrating. After all that, the management offered no compensation or anything. They really didn't even address the dog barking except when I made the phone call to the front desk. It was all empty apologies and no action. All in all, it was a frustrating experience and I would hesitate to book there again.

The property has a spacious lobby, plenty of outdoor seating with cozy fire pits, a nice swimming pool with a Jacuzzi, and a complimentary breakfast served daily from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. One of our favorite features was the peaceful setting. Behind the hotel is a small hillside, which gives the property a quiet, secluded feel surrounded by nature. In the evenings, we loved relaxing by the fire pits, enjoying takeout dinner paired with some local wines. The pool area was well maintained, with plenty of fresh towels and ample lounge chairs. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety of options, including bread, omelets, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, muffins, oatmeal, and fresh coffee. They also offer a 24/7 coffee station in the lobby along with complimentary apples, which was a nice touch. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was very cozy, and the hotel was quiet at night, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. There's also a great brewery nearby that's worth checking out for good food and drinks. If you're planning to visit Solvang and Santa Barbara, I would definitely recommend staying here.
