A very small but cute and romantic hotel only a block or so away from the beach. The stack has been amazing, with free coffee, tea, snacks, and water for guest. The room is small, but very comfortable, with a fridge with freezer, and a TV. Our room, number 10, had a private little patio sitting area in front of it, and it appears that the other rooms do also. The motel offers free beach cruiser, bicycle, rental, and beach accessories for a guest.

Absolutely LOVED this hotel!! The young man at the front desk couldn't be any more welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our beautiful Deluxe King studio room (with free, dedicated parking spots for these rooms) was immaculately clean and so spacious! Loved the beach chic decor, tons of windows, comfy bed, well-stocked kitchen, huge closet room, living area bistro table and sofa as well as the pretty white Victorian bathroom. It honestly feels like your own little "casita". The hotel is well-located, walkable to beach/pier and State Street. We can't wait to come back again for a getaway in our little casita!

Harbor House Inn was everything we wanted. The rooms are mid-20th century apartments that have been thoroughly refurbished and tastefully updated for 21st-century hotel guests. So all the working parts are modern and easy, but the layout is a charming throwback to a bygone era. The courtyard has cozy places to sit. Our room had a kitchen. The property is a couple blocks from the beach, very near Stearns Wharf. We walked there and then to State Street for dinner. There are dozens of great restaurants, bars, and stores along State Street and nearby blocks. And if you don't want to walk, the property offers free bicycles for riding wherever. No pool or on-property restaurant, but we didn't want those. We wanted a quality hotel room in a great location for vacationing in Santa Barbara. Harbor House Inn (for us) was totally that!

Stayed at this Inn for my birthday a couple months back. I have to say it is such a sweet and charming Inn. Close proximity to the beach. They have free bikes to use during the day and some small snacks in the lobby to take with you. The room I stayed in was SO cute and charming!!! It felt like my own little apartment, came with everything you would need. It also had great tall ceilings, a walk in closet and overall felt very grand. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to visiting again.

Kimpton hotels are very pet friendly and that always gets extra stars from me. They don't charge any pet fee or have size restrictions and if you ask them, they will provide food and water bowls for your stay. As someone who always travels with her dog, that adds a lot of value for me. This location even told me that, while I couldn't bring the dog to the restaurant on site, I could bring her to the nightly wine reception. I did not ever end up attending one but it's the thought that counts. The location was great. It was about a 15-minute walk to beach and we did walk to Stearns Wharf multiple times during our stay. It typically took us about 10 minutes to walk to one of the many restaurants in the area that we had decided to go to each time. There are lots of coffee shops, wine bars and places to eat within walking distance so we ended up leaving our car parked for most of our stay. I believe the valet parking was an additional $50 or $60 a night but you do get in and out privileges. We just found that we didn't need the car much to get around on our visit and in the time it takes to have somebody pull it out for you, you could have already walked halfway to your destination. The amenities are nice. They have a rooftop pool, fitness center and then their complimentary coffee, etc. I did not end up taking advantage of any of those because I travel with my dog, so I can't speak directly to the quality of any of them, but I know most people appreciate having extras like that. Our room was cute and comfortable and felt very cozy. It was honestly probably smaller than I expected for the price point, but it had everything that we needed and I was happy with my stay. If you need a pet friendly, walkable place to stay, and you aren't on a super tight budget, I would definitely recommend looking into this hotel.

Travis (valet) was our first point of contact and proved helpful with the car, bags and some insider beverage suggestions. We had a nice conversation too. Edwin checked us in, graciously and provided a full set of details including an upgrade to a suite. We used a credit card that offers "free upgrade" but you never know what that will mean. @ the Kimpton Canary it meant an extremely nice room. Large sitting area, with Nespresso coffee maker, refrigerator and large tv. The king size bed was in a room by itself overlooking the courtyard with fountain. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The bathroom has a separate shower, tub and toilet areas. Bath salts included. Robes and slippers in the closet. Amenities like AM coffee in the lobby or afternoon wine hour are nice to enjoy. The music is jazzy cozy heartfelt inviting. The decor is very chic, modern but not pretentious. Spanish tiles and colorful furniture. Service is a standout. A note in the bathroom said ask for what you need. So i tested it, asking for a lip balm by text and it was sent to the room. I also asked, Ingrid for a bottle of bubbly to be sent up with a birthday card to surprise my wife. It was delivered and made a grateful impression. A couple cookies and another note as well. Feeling extremely well taken care of here.

Perfect anniversary stay -- peaceful, friendly, and right on the beach…read more We stayed at Santa Barbara Inn for our 25th anniversary and paid for the beachside view. It was absolutely worth it. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful, and what really stood out was their text-based concierge system. They text you before arrival, and you can ask for anything during your stay -- they respond quickly and clearly. Honestly, that alone made the stay feel effortless. They even had the car ready before we got downstairs. It felt like having a pocket concierge. The view was fantastic, noise levels were low, and the beach is literally across the street, right at a crosswalk. We spent a lot of time on the balcony -- the room was large, the patio was generously sized, and we loved reading out there with the sounds of birds and seals in the background. Beds were very comfortable, the bathroom had great water pressure, and the jetted tub was basically a sauna -- a huge plus after walking all day. Free water bottles in the room were also appreciated. We ate at Convivo onsite -- it was fine, solid food, but a bit pedestrian flavor-wise. That said, there are so many excellent places to eat in Santa Barbara, and we walked to several without any trouble. Very walkable area for both beach time and dining. For car lovers: there's constant classic car and hot rod cruising along the beach, which was fun to watch from the balcony. It's not cheap, but it's reasonable for the location, room size, and level of service. If you're looking for a peaceful, clean, friendly place that's perfect for couples or a special occasion, this is absolutely the place.

Pros: 1) Across the street from the beach…read more 2) Great views 3) This Hilton Hotel has a Spanish look to it, much like Santa Barbara. Cons: We went for a wedding. But only stayed one night for the wedding. The other nights that we stayed were at another hotel in Santa Barbara. This Hilton hotel I'm giving one star more than the other because it is a Hilton. 1) Completely out dated. It looks like it's something out of the 90s. They can at least buy new furniture. The carpets smell. Everything smells very musty and old. The front desk when you check in is very small. We actually walked right by it because we didn't even see it. It was that small. For such a big hotel you would think that they would have a bigger front desk for their guest to check in and out of. For this to be a Hilton, they need to spend more money on renovation. 2) We could only stay one night because of how expensive it was. We were expecting a lot more for the price. When we entered the room, the linens smelled, and again the carpet smelled very musty. We called the front desk. It took them forever to answer the phone and when they did, they had an attitude about changing the linens. It took two hours for them to come to our room to change out the linens thank God they did because the second set of linens did not smell. 3) The staff all over the hotel were completely rude and aggressive. It didn't matter what department they were in. If this was a rundown Motel 6, then that would be one thing, but it was a Hilton in Santa Barbara facing the ocean. 4) When it came time for the wedding it felt great. It felt organized. I'm not sure if that was the Hilton staff or not. but I know that the catering was the Hilton and that was not organized and that staff was horrible and aggressive. For instance, taking your food while you're still eating. And giving you attitude if you say that you're still eating your dinner. 5) When it came time to use the downstairs restroom my wife stated that the downstairs restroom was filthy, and there was paper towels all over the ground. 6) Which brings me to my next point, this Hilton Hotel felt very understaffed. I could keep going, but the point is that my wife and I do love the Hilton family hotels, but this place is not the best Hilton out there. We will not be back.
