We had a family suite in this little hotel in Solvang. The price was amazing for 4 people (if you don't mind just having 1 bathroom). The aircon was the problem for us. It's next to one bed and that bed got very warm but the warmness never reached the other end of the room where the other bed was. I slept extremely cold the entire night and caught a flu the next day. The housekeeping left unfinished drink from previous guests in the refrigerator. Other than these, everything else was lovely.

For the price of this hotel it is great! Check in through your phone and there is a key pad to get into your room, which is super convenient because who needs extra key cards you forgot to return! Our room looked nicely updated with a huge shower. There is a closet area that had a mini fridge and coffee station. We had a couch and two chairs under a bar top that faces out the parking lot. Perfect seating if you need to work but the internet connection wasn't great. There's outdoor seating if you want to enjoy a glass of wine. We were bummed they are not dog friendly since it's such a dog friendly town, but there are a few other welcoming hotels nearby. Parking was great and it's centrally located off the main road, it's a short walk to all of the local tasting rooms, restaurants, shops and mission. And again, you can't beat the price!

Check Inn Booked a two-night stay through their website (which was cheaper than Booking.com, fwiw) for $199/night** for a quickie two-night stay. The Good: *Contact-free check-in; they email you the code to the room. *Hassle-free code to enter the room, which means no worrying about whether you grabbed your keycard before you leave. *You can text with the front desk instead of having to call or go talk to them. *Internet speed wasn't great, but we were able to stream without issue, never had connection problems, and the signal was strong enough that I was even able to use it at Paula's (across the street) one morning while we ate breakfast. *Fantastic location in the heart of downtown Solvang with everything one could want within 1/4-Mile walk at the most. *Pillows are large and sturdy *Highly recommend Room #1 (aka King + Queen View Room); you'll have some stairs to climb, but it's large, spacious, and no neighbors above, below or to the side of you. #PeaceandQuiet *Free parking *Great Solvang/Danish inspired décor inside the room and the exterior of the hotel itself. *Shower took forever to get hot, but the water pressure was fantastic. *AC/Heater seemed to work fine *Complimentary bicycle rental (didn't partake) *Mini-fridge in room The Meh: *Rooms are still carpeted, as opposed to hardwood/vinyl, which is fast becoming the norm even at the cheapest hotels. *42" Vizio TV was fine, but in our room (Room #1), it was positioned oddly between the two beds. *Bed was hard as a rock. Carissa and her son didn't seem to mind it, but I did. So take that fwiw. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ *Check-in time 4 p.m awful late, but we were able to check-in at 2 p.m. thanks to their handy texting feature. *Lacks some amenities of most modern hotels such as an ice machine, gym, breakfast, etc. The Ugly: *Coffee is a complete joke. They have instant coffee packets w/ a hot water heater. Bring your own coffee if you're like me and need your coffee first thing in the morning. TLDR: 4.5* but would be 5* if the best was more comfortable. However, overall, it is a great place to stay when visiting Solvang. **These are offseason prices (November); I'm sure the price is much, much higher during the summer months.

Bathroom was clean and the sink was conveniently located in case someone was using the toilet. The refrigerator kept things nice and cold.

This inn is welcoming. clean, comfortable, conveniently located in the middle of town, next to the park, easy walking distance to everything, parking close to each room, ground level, and has rental bikes. Its a great value.

We stayed here for Christmas weekend, so price wise .. it was pretty pricey; but worth it. The location is very convenient. Close to restaurants, shops, park and more. It's also in a pretty safe area and we had no issues with parking. The front desk older lady was so kind and sweet to let us check in 2 hours earlier. She also gave us a 2 for 1 wine tasting passports and a few other recommendations. Checking in was a breeze. You can pre-register online and they give you the code to your room as well as charge your room the morning of. We were given room 11, and for a family of 3; it was perfect. It was basically a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom mini apartment (minus the kitchen) Includes basic amenities; 2 TVs, small desk, coffee, 2 bottled waters, mini fridge, soap, shampoo, etc. what you would expect from a small inn/motel. No breakfast or pool/jacuzzi; but they do have a small outdoor seating area and bicycles free to rent. Now the cons: we had 1 AC which located in a separate room that didn't work. Thankfully the weather was perfect and we didn't need it, but without opening most of the windows, it can get pretty hot and stuffy in the room. The beds unfortunately were not comfortable and at all. Neither were the pillows. We had to stack several because of how flat they were. Also not sure if there was a room with stairs, but around 1-1:30am we could hear very loud footsteps and our neighbors conversations which made it pretty difficult to get a good nights rest. Overall, it was a decent stay.

My roommate and I checked in to the Hamlet Inn for a little vacation from work. We had both seen pictures of Solvang throughout the years and had always wanted to check it out...so we finally made plans to back in October. Since we were just staying for a few days and driving from not-too-far-away, we looked to stay in a cheap and comfortable motel that was within walking distance of the majority of stores. The motel that fit closest to our needs, and was aesthetically pleasing to boot, was the Hamlet Inn. The free bike rentals were a definite plus, especially during COVID. We opted for a room with two Queen beds, which included a mini fridge, a couch and coffee table, and a flat screen tv with cable. The bathroom was tight and only allowed for one person at a time, and the shower was quite small too (I would probably bring shower sandals). Overall the place was pretty clean, though we did have to request new towels because there was overlooked hair from a past guest on one towel. Management got on it right away though, and the rest of our stay was fine. This is the perfect place if you are traveling light, looking for somewhere just to sleep and shower, and like a themed room.

    Clean, attractive room.

5 stars for a small motel? Why sure. It's attractive, clean, and located right in the heart of town. The bathroom is good-sized and there's a mini-fridge, too. Best part? When other similar hotels and motels were going for a little under $200 a night, we scored a room here for just about $100, including tax. You can't beat that. So, yeah, 5 stars.

Danish bakery right across the street from the Inn

Stayed for one night in late October. Room rate with taxes & fees was just under $100.00. Thought we'd really be taking a chance on the quality/cleanliness of the room, but was pleasantly surprised. The room and property were clean & maintained. Very basic accommodation, but it was safe and clean. I wouldn't mind staying again. The walls were pretty thin so we could hear our neighbors listening to the Worldseries game, but once it was quiet hours, it quieted down. There weren't a lot of outlets, but for just one night it was fine. Stayed in Room 12. The room had a fun theme. In the morning we saw bicycles near the lobby that looked like they may be available to use for guests. The Inn is right across the street from a Danish bakery and a brewery restaurant.

My wife and I generally like to stay at Hadsten House or Hotel Corque when we are staying in Solvang, but for our most recent trip we needed a more family-accommodating place for our 6 year old. This place seemed to fit the bill because it has several units with two beds. Location and price are also great. It's centrally located in the heart of Solvang. I priced out few other places in the area but this one seemed to offer the best deal. It also gives you a voucher for free pastries and drinks across the street at Olsen's Danish Village Bakery, although the selection is limited with the voucher. It's one free pastry per guest and a choice of coffee, milk, or tea for drink option. Overall, I thought the place was quite good. The room we selected, unit 11, is on the corner of the place so it offered little more privacy. From the picture on the website, I thought the two beds would be next to each other, but they were actually separated with another room within the unit, so it was like having two mini rooms. Each room had a small flat screen TV but AC unit was only available in one room. The other room only had a heater. Bathroom was small but had all the necessary essentials and enough area to put all our toiletries. Shower was a bit cramped though, and the shower head was placed quite high so it was difficult to give our kid a shower. I did like having a small window in the bathroom. Not sure if all the units have one, or if it was just in our unit due to where it's located. Decor is minimal, Danish style, but very functional. There were plenty of places to place our clothes. I liked the numerous wall hooks to hang our clothes. Parking is available on the premise but doesn't seem like there are enough spots to accommodate all guests (when fully occupied). I counted about 12 or 13 units but only saw about 11 parking spaces. Check-in time is 3 p.m. and check-out time is 11 a.m. I took off a star because this place could use little more maintenance. One of the window screens was falling off on our unit, and the mini refrigerator in the room kept making loud noise every once in a while. My wife had trouble sleeping because of this.

Do not get room #2!!! Tiny room.

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

What we loved: * The Lounge: Having the lounge right on-site was a game changer for New Year's Eve. The drinks were expertly crafted, and the vibe was sophisticated yet high-energy. It was the perfect spot to celebrate without having to worry about transport. * The Rooms: Our room was spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable. After the late-night celebrations, the bed provided a fantastic night's sleep. * Location: The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the area. We loved being able to walk to local shops and restaurants during our stay. * The Staff: Every team member we encountered was professional and genuinely friendly, even during a busy holiday weekend. Waking up on January 1st in such a beautiful, well-maintained hotel set exactly the right tone for the year ahead. If you're looking for a blend of style, comfort, and great service, I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back!

On April 9, I cancelled my reservation. On the 10th I received an email from their manager Katie F to call I with my credit card information for the refund due to a change in their system. On April 11, I called to provide my information. The person I spoke with was quite rude until she learned that Katie was the person that told me to call it. I provided my card information. However, I never received a refund. On April 18th I emailed Katie regarding the refund but haven't heard back as of today, May 1.

Atterdag Inn - This double bed room is nice & spacious. It was helpful to have a full sized dining table & additional seating options other than the bed

We had to call several times: For more towels, for more instant coffee (there's an electric kettle in a small kitchen with a microwave), and to figure out how to work the TV (which had a box literally hanging off of it and dangling down the wall), apparently not an uncommon issue since there's a note saying to call before 9 pm if the TV won't work. We also had to specifically request the breakfast and 2-for-1 wine tasting coupons advertised. That said, each time someone helpfully turned up (or offered to do so). But each time it also felt like the bare minimum (how many towels do you want; how many coffee packets?) Also had ants in the kitchen and had to text several times to get that taken care of; returned to a room smelling like unpleasant disinfectant and ... ants. Room was otherwise clean and cute. Bed was big and comfortable. Sheets / linens somewhat basic but not at all bad. We were in No. 2, which had a nice sitting area and lots of light if you don't mind everyone walking past on the street seeing you. And they kindly moved someone else who was just arriving around so we could stay put for another night and not switch rooms. Surprisingly quiet from the outside, though. Inside, another story. I don't know what they were doing above us - one can only imagine - but it went until well after midnight and started up again around 7 am. Tromping and banging that made our whole room shake a bit. Didn't hear our neighbors to the side or anything from the courtyard (also cute and a nice place to sit in the morning). All this said, I'd recommend, and I'd stay there again. We looked at a few hotels before choosing this one and it was by far nicer than most of them, with bigger rooms and just a better vibe.
