Stayed here for business. The location is great and convenient. It's situated where it's quiet enough to enjoy morning walks. There are a few gas stations and food locations just down the street. Solvang is about 10-15mins from the hotel, so for those who are looking to stay by Solvang but don't like the crowd, this place would be perfect. They do not have a microwave in the room, but there's one all guests can use at the lobby inside the convenience store. The hotel's convenient store is probably one of the best I've seen. They have essentials, enacks, desserts to merchandise. I took a photo of the menu they had during the time of my stay, which was just a few weeks ago. Housekeeping is by request or, as I was told, during the 3rd day of your stay. I ran out of coffee essentials, so I requested some, but due to staffing, I never got one. I waited the entire afternoon til night time, and the front desk I was talking to assured me that housekeeping was aware. I checked the next morning, but still none. With the change of shifts, I spoke to a different agent. She was kind enough to do it herself. The bathroom is spacious. It had the handheld shower, which was nice. The elevator was confusing at first. The gym is on the ground floor. They had a water station, a locker (yes, not just a restroom but an actual locker room), a fruit basket, sanitizing wipes, and towels for use. There were a few non-peloton bikes that the screen wasn't working on but still usable if you do your own videos or routine work.

We were attending a nonprofit gala at the Marriott and stayed the night so we didn't have to drive after. The room was a great size with a nice seating area, mini fridge and patio. We were welcomed with my name in the screen and a bottle of wine with a note - such a nice touch! They have a restaurant and bar, as well as a Starbucks. You can also order room service which had great prices! The event space was really nice too. The pool and hot tub looked welcoming and the have a pickle ball court. We would recommend if you're in the area!

Another disappointed stay in this hotel, I will never come back. You can smell food in all the hallways, my room smell like sewer, the carpet full of stain, AC no working properly, very dirty, and even I didn't have se the shower after use my black light Where are all the Marriott promises about cleanliness and comfort in the rooms? Don't waste your money look for other options What I need to and also like to highlight are the employees they are the heart of this hotel.

Located in Buellton, the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott is located near the Firestone Brewery. Parking is free around the property and they have Tesla charging stations. The lobby has a restaurant and bar area with cozy fire pit seating on the terrace behind. It's just about a ten minute drive over to neighboring Solvang and Los Olivos. Perfect spot for enjoying wine country and nearby activities without being right in the center of it. We were in a room overlooking the terrace area. You can't really enjoy and leave your window open unless you want to hear the loud sound of the cars rushing by. Also a decent amount of hallway noise and sounds from neighboring rooms. The beds didn't feel like your typical Marriott quality beds. A little squishier than usual! But the rooms did look modern and newly refreshed which was nice.

This place is a convenient stay. My parents and I had the King suite, which was very spacious and comfortable for three adults. The king bed was in a separate space that had a sliding wooden door (as opposed to the glass one pictured) and that space also had its own closet and TV. In the common area, there was an additional closet, TV, a desk and chair and the sofa bed. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks, a counter top mirror and a full length mirror, with a spacious shower as well. There is also daily housekeeping, which many other hotels seemed to abandon after COVID. This hotel also offers a bar/lounge area that is quite lively at night. They offer a full bar and a menu with some food options for different tastes. The upstairs room hallway is an open, which allows you to see down into the lounge. That may account for other reviewers saying they smelled food in the hallway. I will say that the smell did not carry into our room. There is an expansive outdoor patio with chairs and sofas, fire pits and games (cornhole, chess, connect four). And on Fridays they host wine samples and charcuterie from 4-6. The area is close to eateries and a very short drive to Solvang and multiple tasting rooms. However, many aspects of the hotel need a lot of TLC. The grounds are not well maintained at all. Walls and the grounds are dirty and unkempt. The landscaping is neglected. Glass doors are not regularly cleaned. Even in the rooms themselves, the sliding glass doors are smudged. There was a broken light in our room. The sofa bed mattress was a thin box spring that creaked and offered minimal comfort. While a very convenient location , there is also lots to improve.

Smooth check-in. Very spacious room. Comfortable bed. Mediocre breakfast. Mediocre gym. Lobby bar closed before 10 PM on the weekend. It feels like they have more Tesla charging stations than they do parking spaces. Plenty of guests were parked illegally at the entrance.

I've been a Marriott member for over 12 years at the gold or platinum level that entire time. I've been to dozens of hotels across the country and this one is probably the worst experience I've had. I made a reservation requesting a room with a bathtub. I didn't get it and when I asked at check in, the front desk blew me off and said that none were available and ask in the morning. I don't believe that. I know plenty of people who worked at hotels and Marriott. I don't make a lot of requests. I didn't want to deal with changing rooms and moving everything so I just forgot about it. The room and hotel decor is old and out of date. They need to renovate and upgrade the inside. The carpet is pretty worn out throughout the entire entire hotel. The room was ok but the pillows and comforter were older and full of dust. They don't offer room service or regular cleaning during Covid and that was ok with me. The towels are small and flimsy. I thought they had pretty limited tv channels for a hotel at this level. I was out most of the day but these little things added up. I had a drink at the bar and the service there was great. That's the good part of the experience. The property has free parking and is right off of the freeway and in a good location. Otherwise there's not much to say. At check out, the mobile app wasn't working and I was going to go to the desk to check out quickly. One person was being served and the other staff were standing there talking to each other as I waited. I just left and sent a message through the app and got no response. Most of the time the front staff were wearing masks below their noses even though they have signs saying mandatory masks. The front desk wasn't helpful at all. I called later in the day to make sure my checkout was closed and ok. They didn't send an email or anything on the app which said the reservation was still open. They said it was closed and they would send an email with the final bill. I never got one. I would recommend this place for a quick overnight stay on a road trip. It's probably ok for you if your work is going to pay for it. I was going to stay 3 nights, but after checking in, I quickly decided to cancel the third night. It's just not a comfortable or relaxing hotel to stay that long. I used my reward certificates for this stay and I'm glad I did. It's good for that but I still left feeling disappointed. After looking at the website and staying here, I thought it was misleading online. I don't plan on staying here again. I should have believed the other Yelp reviews.

Does the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott have "accommodations", for PETS? (I keep seeing people, bringing their dogs, with them, to the SYV Marriott!)

We were allowed to bring our small dog with us so it should be ok.

This property also has a small Business center, a nice lobby, a pantry for snacks and misc. items. They also have a great gym here, which is a big plus in my book. They have a Precor FTS glide multi function weight machine as well as free weights, treadmills, elliptical machines and a Peloton bike. The only thing that I would improve here is adding a second bench so if there are more than one person trying to use it, other than that a great gym and have all you need for a great workout. We also visited the lounge for late night snacks and drinks and the bartender was great. Our only two complaints were the showerhead and barn door. The showerhead is a rainfall style, so for me, it wasn't angled or pressured enough to get the wash I prefer, and the barn door will slam against the countertop with the slightest outward pressure. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our stay.

Breakfast was great - the usual waffle maker, scrambled eggs (obviously made from powder, but still ok), bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit, juices, biscuits and gravy, cold cereal and more. The only complaint I had was the tea bags were all caffeinated. The room was clean and spacious; with a refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave oven. Cons: traffic noise even on the non-freeway side. It wasn't bad between 11pm and 5am, even with the window open, but at 5am the truck traffic started. There is also a large gas station right across the street, and semi trucks park in front of the inn at night. This was a non-smoking room - however, people obviously smoke in the enclosed hallway and the odor of smoke remains. There were a few issues in the room - grout around the tub was missing and small amounts of mold were beginning to appear. The AC unit was very loud and it smelled like the filter needed to be replaced. Noise from the neighbors was only when the shower was being used. The hotel staff were mostly wonderful - except at check-in late afternoon. The male clerk seemed flustered, commented that there were no guarantees for early check-in, even though we had gotten approval when we booked. He ended up making 3 phone calls before we were able to check in - and did not give me any information while I was waiting, and did not apologize fore the wait which I would have expected. When I called to ask where the nearest ice machine was, he said all the way down in the lobby - but I found that there was one on the next floor down which was much more convenient. Not sure why he didn't direct me to a closer one. All in all, I would stay here again - but would probably request a different room - when booked, the site stated there was a mountain view. The view is of the parking lot, street, gas station and some other businesses and homes. No mountains there! But it is on the main street of Buellton within walking distance of businesses and restaurants.

They contacted me through airbnb and sent an email 15 minutes before check in (3pm) to provide me with the information and code. It's self check-in which was nice since we didn't arrive till 10pm. Check in is from 3pm to 12am. The room was a bit small, but it had a cozy feel to it. It felt clean and organized. There's a table, mini coffee maker, and fridge. The fridge kept making a loud and annoying sound so we actually unplugged it. The AC was on auto, but every time it turned on, it released a smell throughout the whole room. It smelt of old florals. The scent was so strong, it caused a headache. We had to turn the AC off which left the room stuffy. The WiFi worked great and there's a basket with corn hole pouches you can play outside. There's also a fire pit outside. It was a nice spot given that it's a 5-10 minute drive from Solvang. It's definitely worth the price.

They also didn't pick up when we tried to call, but they eventually returned our text message, so allow for a bit of delay in reaching them. The room was fine but small. There was a TV, mini fridge with no freezer section, small coffee maker that didn't work well, and a small table over the fridge that had barely enough room for me to sit at to use my laptop. Lighting was a bit too dim. The free WiFi was reliable and fast enough for streaming. The wall heater worked amazingly well. In the bathroom, the sink was very low and the shower pressure was only strong when the water was on the cold setting. Noise isolation was average - we heard some plumbing and muffled conversation from the adjacent unit, but people were generally respectful. There's a common room with an ice machine, microwave, and extras like toilet paper and cutlery for guests to use. Outside there are three fire pits, a bike station with tools and a pump, a bocce ball court, and cornhole boards. The cornhole bean bags are easy to miss - they're actually in a little bucket in each room. Guests here are also able to use the fitness center at Sideways Inn, the nearby sister hotel. Their fitness center is pretty legit, especially if you're into weight training. 3.5 stars overall. Hotel Hygge was the cheapest place in town by far (at least on the Capital One travel portal that we booked through), so I was willing to overlook a lot of the shortcomings. We even found a bit of hygge for ourselves by the fire pit at night. For the price, this was a reasonable stay!
