I have a place in my heart for this hotel. The food is great, the people are great, walking distance to the wine ghetto. Great free breakfast made to order, free drinks at happy hour. Bartenders Sonny and Adrian work so hard to make this a great experience!! Bar is stocked with Sweetzer wines which is one of my favorite tasting rooms. Highly recommend it! Bed is so comfortable!! One of the few times i have been led astray by my fellow yelpers Maybe it was just my room 135 but this hotel is a dump. My room was dirty and snelled like it had been smoked in for years and then covered up with tons of air freshener. There were stains all over the carpet. Yuck! The only reason i'm not giving one star is because the gentleman who checked us in was really nice. We won't be back. read more

The hotel is quite dated and in serious need of remodeling and deep cleaning but the staff keep the rooms clean, despite the scuffed walls and threadbare carpeting. The mattress and pillows were comfy. I wasn't around for the complimentary cocktails at 5. The breakfast at the onsite cafe was mediocre, at best but there are probably better options for breakfast locally and the modest cost of the room makes that entirely possible. read more

What an amazing place to stay here in Lompoc! I called in a month before and booked a queen sized room with promo "LOYALTY" and got a rate I was okay with (about $150/day for a Saturday - Sunday). Check in was easy and you get a welcome drink during happy hour as well as getting free breakfast in the morning. When I checked in I realized they gave me a 2 room suite with a King size room, free upgrade and I still payed the cheaper prize. Amazing!! Food - The breakfast here is simple amazing. You select a drink/entree/2 sides and everything was freshly made. Everything tasted good and you won't be disappointed especially since it's included in your stay. Water and refreshments were located in the lobby which was a short walk away from the rooms. The only thing was that during my stay there were a bunch of people partying late at night until about 11 pm but that most likely is because happy hour on Saturdays last until 11 pm and my room was right on top of the Bistro. That didn't really bother me but I got to admit they were partying real loud so some might have issues falling asleep if you sleep early. Overall an amazing stay and everything was so clean. There was a fridge/microwave as well which allowed us to store leftovers from the day before. Would recommend and would stay here again if I am back in Lompoc. (5/5 for price/cleanliness/service) Parking - Free parking for guests. There were plenty of parking so really no issues finding any. read more

Stayed here a week for a work trip. Rooms are a bit dated, but they are clean. Friendly staff (usually the same 4-6 people working between the front desk and restaurant/bar). There's a filtered water dispenser in the lobby, as well as snacks (chips, candy, frozen pizza, ice cream, popcorn) and drinks (soda, etc.) for purchase. I did check out a DVD during my stay, which was one of many from their impressive collection. Biggest highlight was their breakfast - seriously puts those hotel chain breakfasts to shame. Everything is made to order - tell them your room #, and grab a seat. Seriously some good eats (2 eggs any way, omelette w everything, french toast, waffle, hashbrowns, breakfast burrito, etc.). You forget you're at a hotel, and suddenly transported to a homey diner. They also have happy hour in the evening, which I did not partake in, but it's in the same building as breakfast. Lots of room to mingle in, as well as a pool table. Also an outdoor pool and hot tub, weather permitting. read more

Terrible, don't do it! I feel like we were hotel catfished. I called ahead to confirm our arrival details. When we tried to check in at almost 5pm our room still wasn't clean. The photos are not representive of the average room. The carpets haven't been deep cleaned anytime recently. The TV has no casting ability but there is a DVD player and blowdryer. Our shower was broken and set to scouring hot. We tried to get it fixed and the best they could do was set it to steaming hot, so every time we showered the whole room turned into a sauna. If you have to stay here avoid room 139! read more

Had an amazing two weeks here. The front desk & housekeeping are so nice & accomodating. The room is nice. It looks dated but with modern touches, like a huge flat screen TV with TONS of channels. There was also a DVD player in my room that went unused but hey, bring your DVDs if you want. The air conditioner/heater unit in the room was industrial strength I think cause it had that room cool or hot in 2 minutes flat. There is a lovely pool I did not get to try. The landscaping and design of the inn is very nice. They will give you a daily gym pass to go work out right around the corner. I got the package that included breakfast at the Bistro next door and it was worth it. They give you a lot of really good food and unlimited coffee. I also had the bistro for dinner one time and it was very good. Service at the bistro is also top notch. The laundry room is very clean and modernized with new machines that take card or app, it costs apprx $5 to wash a load of clothes. That's not a complaint just informing you. All in all, I had a fabulous stay and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Lompoc. I will try and attach food photos from the bistro. read more

I work at SpaceX and at the time of booking on our company site said 9.2 as the rating. That's very misleading. As you can see in the photos it's disgusting. I also had a gift basket that contained my name and little candies. Over time things from the gift basket were disappearing. I left a note for I'm assuming, the cleaning person to stop taking them in which they decided to hide the note behind all the snacks. I will be letting my company know to remove this place from our preferred hotels. Also curious as to why they looked at my LinkedIn profile. I've stayed here a lot January thru March supporting a NASA launch. I liked it a lot. The rooms were fine and the bistro is a great place to eat or just hang at the bar. Super friendly staff, they make you feel like a family member and they are true space nuts, the manager in particular took great care of me. Walking distance to good restaurants also. Looking for a place to stay in wine country, my husband, our little girl dog and I decided to book a stay at O'Cairns Inn & Suites since it was so highly rated on Yelp. Dogs can stay here for only $25 per week (only 2 dogs per room allowed). We stayed here for a weekend. We checked in pretty late on a Friday night, a little after 10 pm. We were greeted by a nice employee behind the counter and were given our card keys and went over to our room. As soon as we came into our hotel room, it had an incredibly strong urine smell. It was unbearable so my husband called the front desk and explained the situation and was told that we could switch rooms and that my husband can come back down to the lobby to get a new room key. With the second room, it had a strong poop smell (although this may sounds hilarious, this is no joke). Since no one was answering the phone, my husband went back down to the hotel lobby to see if we could get another room. Eventually my husband came back (he had to wait since no one was manning to desk) with a new room key. I guess the third time is the charm because this room was fine and had no urine or poop smell. So we moved all of our things and got situated, which was around 11 pm. The room itself is quite spacious. We were in a room with a king bed, regular size fridge, microwave, flat screen TV and coffee maker. The breakfast we had (which is complementary) was the major highlight of our stay. It is made to order so you can either make your order via phone call (then they will call you when it is ready to pick up from the restaurant on- site) or you can order in person and dine at the restaurant (or bring it back to your room to eat). My husband and I (and our little girl also got some) really enjoyed our breakfast each morning, which really was a lot of food. Breakfast offerings you could choose from included 2 eggs (any style), build your own omelet or breakfast burrito, coffee/ tea, assorted juices, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast, fruit, yogurt, french toast/ waffles/ pancakes, oatmeal. This hotel also hosts a happy hour/ evening reception and are given 2 free tokens/ tickets for alcohol, per person. On the first night we arrived, the restaurant closed earlier than 11 pm (my husband walked down to the restaurant around 10:40 pm). But we were able to check out the happy hour the next night and ended up getting a few mixed drinks. We also decided to order a side of fries, which was a pretty large amount for a pretty cheap price (it was under $5). Service from the employees at the restaurant was always very friendly (at breakfast and also during the happy hour). But it did surprise me that the employee at the front desk never apologized for the smell in the rooms when we had checked in on the first evening. When mentioned about this problem upon check out, the employee did nothing about it. I also did inform the manager via email upon coming back home to Los Angeles and the manager did nothing for me and didn't even bother to apologize for the inconvenience. Although the breakfast and happy hour was a major perk of staying at this hotel, I won't be coming back. Hopefully you will much better luck if you stay here. read more

If you want to stay in an affordable, clean, comfy bed, roomy, quiet, well furnished and equipped (ironing board & iron!), nice swimming pool motel, O'Cairns may be the prime place to stay in Lompoc. It is fairly close to noted Santa Barbara wineries such as Sea Smoke as well as being only two miles from Lompoc's Wine Ghetto located in an industrial park & even less to friendly, food & wine sophisticated Sissy's in old school Oldtown Lompoc. Happy Hour from 5pm where each guest is entitled to two drinks. The friendly bartendress from S.W. England was pleasantly chatty, engaging and made you feel at home. You can stand physically distanced at the bar or drink in front outside in their tables and chairs. Good local Pinot Noir, Sweeter Cellars 2014, Santa Barbara County. The other drink was a Cape Cod made with gin in a take out cup for later enjoyment. Complimentary breakfast was good. Crispy hash browns, omelette with mélange of ingredients, extra crispy bacon although I asked for less cooked at time of ordering. Way better than most motels that only offer cold cereal and old coffee. I arrived 5 minutes earlier than the 3pm check in, and told that there would be a 20 minute wait. Turned out to be closer to 40 minutes, but with extra cleaning required during the Pandemic, it was understandable. Lobby in the record heatwave made waiting hot and humid even with the air conditioning which may need repair. The poor receptionist looked miserable on top of having to register a large number of guests all piling in at the same time at 3pm check in. Staff is for the most part friendly and responsive. I would come back to O'Cairns. We liked this hotel with fast Wi-Fi, over 100 Mbps. Each room was quiet, with a good TV and an Ethernet port. Breakfast was cooked to order with great eggs, bacon, fruit bowl, and vanilla yogurt! Each room needed some maintenance. The first room we were given smelled of mold or stale tobacco smoke, so we asked for another room, which needed a fix to the light over the makeup mirror. We also had a second room, which had a very stiff water temperature lever in the shower. Owner Randy and the front desk clerk said that each item would be fixed. We agreed that guests should not have to report items that housekeeping should have noticed. read more

Love this place! It's homey and the restaurant bar is nice with friendly people. This place will be my go to when I'm in Lompoc.

The two managers on duty when Diane and I stayed here on our return trip from Monterey were pleasant enough and tried to be helpful. But there were just too many problems that we encountered during our one night and morning stay. When we entered our assigned room we soon found that the lightbulb for a desk lamp was burnt out, and, although we had previously made a special request for hypoallergenic pillows, only feather pillows were in the room. A new lightbulb was provided, and after scrounging around in vacant rooms a manager was at length successful in finding two clean hypoallergenic foam pillows, which were exchanged for feather pillows to which I am allergic. So, late at night after the two delays we slept relatively comfortably in our king non-smoking room. But then, when I entered the whirlpool spa the next morning in swimming trunks while looking forward to a relaxing immersion in swirling hot water before we set out on the road again, none of the whirlpool jets would work. A repairman was summoned to address the problem after I reported it to the front desk, and I observed him attempting to make necessary repairs. But after awhile he informed me that a replacement part was needed that was expected soon. So I returned to the room, came back an hour later, and was told by the same handyman that the required part had still not arrived. Checkout time was approaching, so I returned to the room, changed into street clothes, and we finished packing and checked out. Based on the above, just 2-1/2 stars overall. read more

All has been said in the previous reviews: its incredibly accommodating friendly staff, and a full breakfast made to order in the convenient restaurant attached to the hotel. Pool, jacuzzi, dogs allowed - all wonderful! Drink tickets, happy hour & live entertainment - all the extras! Much less expensive than a stay in Solvang with only a short drive to the village plus wine country! We will definitely be back again, and bring our dogs, and maybe even our kids (ha ha!) next time! Including the menu for the restaurant - you can call in your order & they call you when it's ready for pick-up! Room service without the cost and great food to boot! We stayed here a few weeks ago for a staycation. They do not offer handicap rooms. I use a walker and originally we were given a room upstairs. There is no elevator. The front desk didove us to a 1st floor room since walking up and down stairs is cumbersome. There was no shower chair . My daughter had to go get my shower chair from home. There was no handicap parking near our room., and the walkway was narrower then my walker which was a bit wobbly trying to navigate. Yes, there is handicap parking, but at the front if the hotel, not in the back where we were put. The room was nice. It has a regular size fridge which was very nice to have. The breakfast at the Bistro was very good, and the fact that it's complimentary is great. The room was very quiet given the fact that the hotel is right off Ocean Ave. If you are a local staying there they do put a hold of $300 as a secure deposit. As long as you leave the room in the same shape you found it, the deposit is returned. I would add that I stay at hotels in L A from time to time so my review is based on the handicap accommodations that are readily available there. read more

My partner and I were satisfied with our room. The bed was comfortable. There's was a separate bathroom, and we had a microwave and fridge in our room. The breakfast was amazing and so was the service here, overall. Everyone greeted us with a smile and they were all polite and friendly. We also liked that free parking is available here. Behind our door, we could see that the wall had been repaired from a huge hole, and the plaster and paint were looked gross. There also weren't many good places to eat in the area. We ended up going to one of the local hotel restaurants, and the food was absolutely disgusting. Overall, this place is decent for what you pay. Just had another fabulous stay, last week, at O'Cairns Inn & Suites (OCIS)! I was back in Lompoc on business and being a person that travels frequently, having a nice hotel to stay at is important. Having stayed at O'Cairns previously I knew it's not just a nice hotel it's like a home away from home. Obviously being in Lompoc there is a lot of space flight activity at nearby Vandenberg Space Force Base, and the OCIS team takes really good care of industry & government teams that travel out for processing and launch support; but, its not just them. They take care of every one of their guests and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why. It's a family run business and they treat each guest like an extended member of their family! There's a reason why this place as so many five star reviews. It's rare to find a place that has everything from good pricing, great service, and clean rooms. They gave us so much for what we paid. We enjoyed drinks during happy hour, soda, ice cream and teas from the lobby and inclusive breakfasts that were cooked to order. We didn't take advantage of all their other amenities like heated pool, hot tub and day pass to a local gym. I can see why they are called a boutique hotel. This place is not fancy, but what in Lompoc is fancy? We had a large group needing accommodations. This place is bigger than it looks. There's over 100 rooms. The rooms are clean and neat. They all come with a microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator. They have a pool, and a Jacuzzi. I think that we paid just over $300 for three nights. They gave us a nice group rate since we booked about 25 rooms. The employees are super nice, breakfast is included every morning, and you get two free drinks during happy hour. The bar/breakfast area has a pool table, darts, big screen TVs and hand shuffleboard. If you have to stay in Lompoc this is not a bad place to stay. Very quiet and lots of free parking in the back. We were told that this place is still family owned. read more

We were looking for a place to stay en route to SD and wanted to break up the drive. Location: Relatively centered between SF and SD and easy to find. Rooms: Your average 3-star hotel, with some quirky additions like the interesting reclining lounger next to the bed and the free standing coat rack. They wrap the remotes as a sign they have been sanitized, which I appreciated. I still wiped down every surface with a Chlorox wipe though - COVID times... Breakfast: Apparently your stay includes breakfast, which was a nice surprise. And not even just a continental breakfast, it was a full hot breakfast! We ordered the eggs, bacon, and waffle, side of fruit, and a couple coffees. Everything was tasty, though the waffle had a sour taste to it and I wasn't sure if it was the buttermilk in the waffle batter that had gone bad. We took a couple bites and then just left it. Service: We specifically looked for a motel because it would have exterior facing room doors, but the service went above and beyond what I would expect from a motel. We requested a bottom floor room so it would be easier to get the dogs in and out and they happily obliged without issue. Great find for what we needed! read more

We found this location on Priceline.com and were drawn in by the affordable rate which was much lower than well known hotels in the area. Here are the basics about O'Cairns Inns & Suites: (1)-this location is actually quite large and clean; similar in look to a Motel 6. (2)-service is excellent with the complimentary breakfast on the first floor across from the parking lot. Your breakfast order is prepared for you while you wait in a Denny's style breakfast room. Nice touch and a great way to start your day! (3)-the rooms are clean and basic. We slept comfortably and quietly. Overall, you can save a great deal over the higher end hotels by staying at the O'Cairns Inn & Suites without sacrificing the essentials. Thank you to the staff for making our visit so enjoyable. Quaint stay. It's an open property, but seems like the staff makes it a point to non guests that they are not allowed to loiter. Good food, great service. The staff really makes me feel like I'm staying with friends or family. Things aren't fancy but they are clean and maintained. No elevator, or at least I didn't see any if you are in need of one. GREAT LODGING FOR LOMPOC WINE TASTING It's not fancy, but it's super friendly and a great spot for Lompoc Ghetto wine tasting. Affordably priced, clean and has all of the basics you'll need. To top it off, they offer a happy hour in their "social" room, which has a great bartender named "Chipps" and a place to play to billiards and foozball. Breakfast is made to order and includes everything from eggs and hash browns to pancakes and french toast. I didn't have very high expectations, but it was much better than I thought it would be. The staff, Vera, Alex and Chipps, were all super helpful and very friendly. Things to note: get your Happy Hour tokens from the front desk before attending the happy hour and don't forget to tip the server at breakfast time, even though your breakfast may be included in your rate. read more

My puppy put down the electric back window and jumped out of the truck in front of Karen's motel and restaurant. After I parked the truck, I ran back to find two men holding the dog. One of them acted like the restaurant manager, and was angry because my dog had left, pissed and blood on his restaurant floor, the restaurant was not open, nor did it have any customers. He insisted I wipe up the piss and blood off the floor. Such a lack of compassion for me, and my animal was appalling. I hope no one eats at his restaurant or stays in his motel again.
