It's highly rated but just old and outdated. Our room was clean and the fact they include breakfast that's made to order was neat. It's an older area so this is probably why the place is rated highly lol. The front desk workers were friendly and for one night it was a decent price. I rounded up but a solid 3.5 is what my rating is.

What an amazing place to stay here in Lompoc! I called in a month before and booked a queen sized room with promo "LOYALTY" and got a rate I was okay with (about $150/day for a Saturday - Sunday). Check in was easy and you get a welcome drink during happy hour as well as getting free breakfast in the morning. When I checked in I realized they gave me a 2 room suite with a King size room, free upgrade and I still payed the cheaper prize. Amazing!! Food - The breakfast here is simple amazing. You select a drink/entree/2 sides and everything was freshly made. Everything tasted good and you won't be disappointed especially since it's included in your stay. Water and refreshments were located in the lobby which was a short walk away from the rooms. The only thing was that during my stay there were a bunch of people partying late at night until about 11 pm but that most likely is because happy hour on Saturdays last until 11 pm and my room was right on top of the Bistro. That didn't really bother me but I got to admit they were partying real loud so some might have issues falling asleep if you sleep early. Overall an amazing stay and everything was so clean. There was a fridge/microwave as well which allowed us to store leftovers from the day before. Would recommend and would stay here again if I am back in Lompoc. (5/5 for price/cleanliness/service) Parking - Free parking for guests. There were plenty of parking so really no issues finding any.

Stayed here a week for a work trip. Rooms are a bit dated, but they are clean. Friendly staff (usually the same 4-6 people working between the front desk and restaurant/bar). There's a filtered water dispenser in the lobby, as well as snacks (chips, candy, frozen pizza, ice cream, popcorn) and drinks (soda, etc.) for purchase. I did check out a DVD during my stay, which was one of many from their impressive collection. Biggest highlight was their breakfast - seriously puts those hotel chain breakfasts to shame. Everything is made to order - tell them your room #, and grab a seat. Seriously some good eats (2 eggs any way, omelette w everything, french toast, waffle, hashbrowns, breakfast burrito, etc.). You forget you're at a hotel, and suddenly transported to a homey diner. They also have happy hour in the evening, which I did not partake in, but it's in the same building as breakfast. Lots of room to mingle in, as well as a pool table. Also an outdoor pool and hot tub, weather permitting.

Came for dinner Place was pretty empty The menu looked to offer decent meals **if you are a local you will not be able to order an alcoholic beverage unless your staying at the hotel It had to do something with the liquor license. Place was clean and the waitress was friendly. Plenty of parking Hamburger had a cooked frozen patty which would have been better if it was ground beef Favors were good on both sandwiches

    French toast and breakfast burrito

Had an amazing two weeks here. The front desk & housekeeping are so nice & accomodating. The room is nice. It looks dated but with modern touches, like a huge flat screen TV with TONS of channels. There was also a DVD player in my room that went unused but hey, bring your DVDs if you want. The air conditioner/heater unit in the room was industrial strength I think cause it had that room cool or hot in 2 minutes flat. There is a lovely pool I did not get to try. The landscaping and design of the inn is very nice. They will give you a daily gym pass to go work out right around the corner. I got the package that included breakfast at the Bistro next door and it was worth it. They give you a lot of really good food and unlimited coffee. I also had the bistro for dinner one time and it was very good. Service at the bistro is also top notch. The laundry room is very clean and modernized with new machines that take card or app, it costs apprx $5 to wash a load of clothes. That's not a complaint just informing you. All in all, I had a fabulous stay and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Lompoc. I will try and attach food photos from the bistro.

I work at SpaceX and at the time of booking on our company site said 9.2 as the rating. That's very misleading. As you can see in the photos it's disgusting. I also had a gift basket that contained my name and little candies. Over time things from the gift basket were disappearing. I left a note for I'm assuming, the cleaning person to stop taking them in which they decided to hide the note behind all the snacks. I will be letting my company know to remove this place from our preferred hotels. Also curious as to why they looked at my LinkedIn profile. I had to end my reservation with them and found a different hotel.

Looking for a place to stay in wine country, my husband, our little girl dog and I decided to book a stay at O'Cairns Inn & Suites since it was so highly rated on Yelp. Dogs can stay here for only $25 per week (only 2 dogs per room allowed). We stayed here for a weekend. We checked in pretty late on a Friday night, a little after 10 pm. We were greeted by a nice employee behind the counter and were given our card keys and went over to our room. As soon as we came into our hotel room, it had an incredibly strong urine smell. It was unbearable so my husband called the front desk and explained the situation and was told that we could switch rooms and that my husband can come back down to the lobby to get a new room key. With the second room, it had a strong poop smell (although this may sounds hilarious, this is no joke). Since no one was answering the phone, my husband went back down to the hotel lobby to see if we could get another room. Eventually my husband came back (he had to wait since no one was manning to desk) with a new room key. I guess the third time is the charm because this room was fine and had no urine or poop smell. So we moved all of our things and got situated, which was around 11 pm. The room itself is quite spacious. We were in a room with a king bed, regular size fridge, microwave, flat screen TV and coffee maker. The breakfast we had (which is complementary) was the major highlight of our stay. It is made to order so you can either make your order via phone call (then they will call you when it is ready to pick up from the restaurant on- site) or you can order in person and dine at the restaurant (or bring it back to your room to eat). My husband and I (and our little girl also got some) really enjoyed our breakfast each morning, which really was a lot of food. Breakfast offerings you could choose from included 2 eggs (any style), build your own omelet or breakfast burrito, coffee/ tea, assorted juices, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast, fruit, yogurt, french toast/ waffles/ pancakes, oatmeal. This hotel also hosts a happy hour/ evening reception and are given 2 free tokens/ tickets for alcohol, per person. On the first night we arrived, the restaurant closed earlier than 11 pm (my husband walked down to the restaurant around 10:40 pm). But we were able to check out the happy hour the next night and ended up getting a few mixed drinks. We also decided to order a side of fries, which was a pretty large amount for a pretty cheap price (it was under $5). Service from the employees at the restaurant was always very friendly (at breakfast and also during the happy hour). But it did surprise me that the employee at the front desk never apologized for the smell in the rooms when we had checked in on the first evening. When mentioned about this problem upon check out, the employee did nothing about it. I also did inform the manager via email upon coming back home to Los Angeles and the manager did nothing for me and didn't even bother to apologize for the inconvenience. Although the breakfast and happy hour was a major perk of staying at this hotel, I won't be coming back. Hopefully you will much better luck if you stay here.

Nice motel room at a good price, 2 drink HH, hot breakfast: good deal

If you want to stay in an affordable, clean, comfy bed, roomy, quiet, well furnished and equipped (ironing board & iron!), nice swimming pool motel, O'Cairns may be the prime place to stay in Lompoc. It is fairly close to noted Santa Barbara wineries such as Sea Smoke as well as being only two miles from Lompoc's Wine Ghetto located in an industrial park & even less to friendly, food & wine sophisticated Sissy's in old school Oldtown Lompoc. Happy Hour from 5pm where each guest is entitled to two drinks. The friendly bartendress from S.W. England was pleasantly chatty, engaging and made you feel at home. You can stand physically distanced at the bar or drink in front outside in their tables and chairs. Good local Pinot Noir, Sweeter Cellars 2014, Santa Barbara County. The other drink was a Cape Cod made with gin in a take out cup for later enjoyment. Complimentary breakfast was good. Crispy hash browns, omelette with mélange of ingredients, extra crispy bacon although I asked for less cooked at time of ordering. Way better than most motels that only offer cold cereal and old coffee. I arrived 5 minutes earlier than the 3pm check in, and told that there would be a 20 minute wait. Turned out to be closer to 40 minutes, but with extra cleaning required during the Pandemic, it was understandable. Lobby in the record heatwave made waiting hot and humid even with the air conditioning which may need repair. The poor receptionist looked miserable on top of having to register a large number of guests all piling in at the same time at 3pm check in. Staff is for the most part friendly and responsive. I would come back to O'Cairns. They try to make motel stays a bit more hospitable and likeable. 4+ stars PS  Can't upload more photos easily since Yelp no longer allows me to access my Google Photos app.

Honestly, it was not a bad stay at all!…read more I only give this place 3.5 stars because it's pretty outdated in terms of furniture and layout. I loved how the bigger rooms/suites were in a separate building. I loved how conveniently assigned our room was to the doors/elevator. I know hotels tend to place families near them. The elevator was slow, but our halls were quiet. I felt like we were the only ones staying in our building and maybe we were. lol The breakfast room wasn't too far a walk, as it was in the same building near the pool. You need a key to get in there which I liked! Sometimes you don't want random people eating for free you know. Breakfast was a fully breakfast, and the lady kept everything clean and coming out. However, she was slow to refill and the eggs and bacon were a little oddly cooked. Like some of the thinnest bacon I've ever seen and the eggs were kind of rubbery. I did like the blueberry waffle mix though. And the fountain drinks were nasty! Checkin was smooth and the older black lady who helped us is super helpful and nice! They had the lobby festively decorated too for the holidays! Price was great for the sized room we have. Had a kitchenette, two bedrooms with tvs, two full baths, and another tv couch space next to the kitchenette. Rooms were decently cleaned, but the carpet was old and sunken in. Next to the dmv which I found odd, but wasn't too far from solvang which was the only reason we were in town!

Pros: Personally my family and I had a great stay here!…read moreFront desk staff was curious and informative, beds were comfortable le and very clean and they were able to accommodate early check in for us, for free! Unlike most places checkout is 12 noon (compared to the standard 11am)!!! Free breakfast was pletiful and had a great variety of food, coffee choices, and juice choices. While we didn't visit the hot tub or pool, they looked nice with decent seating and lounging around it. Good parking but entrances into the place aside from the front desk were a little confusing. Also breakfast area (hospitality room) was a bit difficult to find (go to the pool. On the outside across from the spa, is the hospitality room. There is a sign). Cons: (mostly cosmetic. I can see bad reviews being picky or for spoiled "resort dwellers" lol) - Air conditioner stinks at higher temperatures and start up. Once it gets goin its good. - top cover of the bed is itchy....but not really needed? Just make sure it's on top of the sheet if you use it. - could use more in room lighting. - wiring and lighting could be updated...little on the older side. 100% functional though without issue - some small paint or glue touch ups could be done... cheap and easy to do to be honest and can go a long way - biggest issue was bathroom. It was clean enough with clean towels but wall paper could be glued down where loose or replaced, door hinges were super rusty and ugly (just cosmetic. Don't think I'd go out of my way licking them or rubbing my face on them anytime soon). Under the door had water damage...not really the hotels fault in my opinion. Maybe add a weather plate to protect it or at least cover it up. - shower knob.Requires a little know how and muscle. Had to call for instructions. To turn the water on pulls the center temperature knob outward (toward you). Muscle is required and it feels like it'll break but it won't. Turning it off is the same way, just push in hard.

Unfortunately, the condition of the room was far from what I expected. To start with the positives, both the evening and morning front desk associates were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, that was where the good experience ended. The room itself was in very poor condition. The lampshades were visibly dirty, and one even appeared to have what looked like a speck of blood on it. There was a thick layer of dust--about an inch--on the back side of the TV, which made it clear that the room hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. One of the "clean" towels had visible skid marks on it, which was honestly shocking and unacceptable. It didn't stop there--there was mold above the door and also on the bathroom wall. Then, upon checking out in the morning, I noticed a tissue hanging from the ceiling in the shower. That was the final straw. I did inform the front desk associate when I checked out, but I'm still stunned at the overall state of the room. This goes beyond a simple oversight--it reflects a serious lack of upkeep and attention to cleanliness. I hope Red Roof Inn takes a closer look at this location and invests in the maintenance and sanitation it clearly needs. Guests should not have to question basic cleanliness when staying at a hotel.

We stayed at this one star motel....Boy were we pleasantly surprised…read more So first of all....its a one star hotel. We were nervous because we read all the bad reviews. We booked here anyway last minute due to unavailability elsewhere. Our options were this motel, a campsite with no toilet or sleeping in the car. Regardless we booked on a Sat for $150 total. We arrived in late evening and were greeted by Jacob who was friendly, pleasant and welcoming. Check in was quick and seamless. We arrived to a first floor double room. Because of covid we wiped down all the surfaces and to my very pleasant surprise the wipes were just as white after. I was calmed. There a were couple of aesthethic things...but whatever its a 1 star hotel! The dryer was gone, there was one missing art frame (the had art frames!!!) and there were three wall repairs that were visible... but they were fixed and while the pain didnt quite match, it was clear an effort was made (and would you paint an entire room just for the pain to match or fix it until you're able to do it if you were running a business???!!....... Exactly!). The bed was comfortable although too soft and likely needs to be flipped or rotated. I'm used to my tempur pedic . There was a bit of a slight smell to the room, but it was more like ciagrette than anything...if was mild but noticeable... if it's something that would bother you bring febreeze or an air freshener. We noticed it and forgot about it even though we are sensitive to "scents." The room came with a 32inch (?) TV with dish cable and were able to watch some of our favorite shows including the Golden Girls! Lol...(yes even my millennial generation loves the golden girls!). We ended up booking a 2nd night for half the price for a single queen room. Which had a single queen, a nice small table with two nice faux leather chairs, and a TV that in addition to DISH cable came with Roku..but Internet was slower than I'm used to (I'm used to the fastest). We had difficulty with getting to regular TV because the previous patrons disconnected the cable HDMI. We couldn't figure it out so we called the front desk and Jacob was there within 2 minutes (yes!! 2 minutes, I don't even get this at a 5 start hotel!), he quickly set it all back up for us and even quickly showed us how to use both cable and Roku controllers. What exceptional service!!! This was room had no missing art frames had less patron damage than the first and had upgraded mini fridge. Both rooms came equipped with microwave, iron and ironing board, hangers in an open closet, a mini fridge, free wifi, free cable, and free Roku (access to Netflix, Hulu, Showtime in the 2nd room!) AND I especially loved the recycling containers!!! Both nights we woke up rested, checkout was the easiest! Leave the key and lock the door. For this 1 star hotel, just 17 miles from Solvang, with friendly and fast service it deserves more than a 5 star review. I'm glad now I know Lompoc for more than Mossimo being in its federal prison for the college scandal....lol. We'll be coming back!
