Gorgeous grounds. Midcentury modern rooms with peaceful resort vibes. But being new, this place has some kinks to work out. Also, at first l didn't even know this was the right hotel because Yelp! has it listed as the Village "Oaks" Inn which isn't shown anywhere on their branding. See my pic with their stationery set. *The good*: restaurant and pool/jacuzzi onsite. Though we didn't eat at the restaurant so l cannot say anything about it. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and well kept. They even had two showers there for use as well. As a blonde, it's super helpful for me to not get green hair from the chlorine. Pool towels are there for use, which is great not having to remember to take ones from the room. Both the pool and jacuzzi had handicap chair access. The man checking us in was really nice and helpful. Plentiful parking. And l love the versatility of the parking. We were in building 3 and l was able to park pretty darn close to our room. Minimal walking (a bonus with two young kids who always forget things in the car or the room and need mom or dad to retrieve them). Lots of handicapped parking as well. Quiet and serene location (lots of well maintained grass and trees). Not a lot of through traffic so a much quieter and calmer location than other areas. Less traffic all around, adding to the calm and relaxing vibe. The room we had was on the first floor so we had a private patio with a gate allowing access to walk the short distance to the pool. Also, the patio had a few chairs and an umbrella to enjoy the green belt views. I loved the thermostat inside the room. It was pretty straight forward after messing with it for a few minutes. I appreciate white noise and l was able to set the fan to the highest setting to appease my need for sleeping to the sound of it. *The not so good*: upon arriving, our bathroom sink had hair on it, the mirror wasn't clean (think rolling down your car window after a recent car wash), a light in the bathroom didn't work, and two outlets didn't work either (imagine waking up to start your day with a cell phone at only 4% charge...definitely not a great start). We also had no body wash (body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are located in the shower in a pump bottle format affixed to the wall). *Takeaway*: The grounds are amazing and the rooms are pretty nice overall (l mean this place is newly renovated, l think we were told, so that makes it nice that everything is in pretty pristine condition). ***Would we come back?*** Yeah, if we ever come back to stay in Lompoc, l totally would. It's not super close to the downtown area but it's maybe an 8-10 min drive. Not a deal breaker for us, in fact l think l like it better for that reason. It's just a very safe and quiet relaxing area. l hope the next time we come out that the room is cleaner and that the outlet issue gets fixed. We were in room 307, which had a view of the pool and green space. There is a coffee bar area inside the room which sits on a fridge, also for your use. No microwave though. *Things to note*: Speaking of not having something that you'd come to expect in the room (no, l don't consider a microwave typical), there is no clock in the room. Now a welcome addition is an iron and ironing board in the little alcove where there are hangers for hanging clothes along with some extra blankets. Also, there were electric vehicle chargers in the front parking lot. I don't know if they were compatible with Teslas as we didn't bring ours this trip, but l would hope they'd be able to accommodate all of the ev's coming to stay. Call ahead to make sure.

I've stayed here twice now, and both occasions were pleasant! I can see this being the pitstop while in neighboring areas! It's one of the three things that's totally worth it about Lompoc (while in passing of course) I love, love Embassy Suites by Hilton! Which provides a separation between the bedroom + bathroom (together) and the kitchen + living room (together)! It's tiny, comfortable and well thought out. (The couch is a pull out). This location has superbe customer service! Employees are very courteous, including the cleaning staff which prompted me to tell Mom that management must treat the workers well because everyone took a lot of pride in their work! Breakfast is provided. Mooom got an omelette which they make fresh and we requested that they use a clean pan and the guy was extremely accommodating and very respectful, he went ahead and cleaned out the pan from the meat remnant and made a delicious omelette for my mom (he did the same thing previously for my entire family when we stayed here before! My younger brother communicated to him in Spanish and he was such a gentlemen about it! My Spanish isn't as good so I asked humbly in English last time we went and he responded with the same grace!) 2-3 fire pits downstairs. Tables and chairs in the garden for snacks and food. Love the greenery and landscape. The pool & jacuzzi are swell too!

Honestly, it was not a bad stay at all!…read more I only give this place 3.5 stars because it's pretty outdated in terms of furniture and layout. I loved how the bigger rooms/suites were in a separate building. I loved how conveniently assigned our room was to the doors/elevator. I know hotels tend to place families near them. The elevator was slow, but our halls were quiet. I felt like we were the only ones staying in our building and maybe we were. lol The breakfast room wasn't too far a walk, as it was in the same building near the pool. You need a key to get in there which I liked! Sometimes you don't want random people eating for free you know. Breakfast was a fully breakfast, and the lady kept everything clean and coming out. However, she was slow to refill and the eggs and bacon were a little oddly cooked. Like some of the thinnest bacon I've ever seen and the eggs were kind of rubbery. I did like the blueberry waffle mix though. And the fountain drinks were nasty! Checkin was smooth and the older black lady who helped us is super helpful and nice! They had the lobby festively decorated too for the holidays! Price was great for the sized room we have. Had a kitchenette, two bedrooms with tvs, two full baths, and another tv couch space next to the kitchenette. Rooms were decently cleaned, but the carpet was old and sunken in. Next to the dmv which I found odd, but wasn't too far from solvang which was the only reason we were in town!

Unlike most places checkout is 12 noon (compared to the standard 11am)!!! Free breakfast was pletiful and had a great variety of food, coffee choices, and juice choices. While we didn't visit the hot tub or pool, they looked nice with decent seating and lounging around it. Good parking but entrances into the place aside from the front desk were a little confusing. Also breakfast area (hospitality room) was a bit difficult to find (go to the pool. On the outside across from the spa, is the hospitality room. There is a sign). Cons: (mostly cosmetic. I can see bad reviews being picky or for spoiled "resort dwellers" lol) - Air conditioner stinks at higher temperatures and start up. Once it gets goin its good. - top cover of the bed is itchy....but not really needed? Just make sure it's on top of the sheet if you use it. - could use more in room lighting. - wiring and lighting could be updated...little on the older side. 100% functional though without issue - some small paint or glue touch ups could be done... cheap and easy to do to be honest and can go a long way - biggest issue was bathroom. It was clean enough with clean towels but wall paper could be glued down where loose or replaced, door hinges were super rusty and ugly (just cosmetic. Don't think I'd go out of my way licking them or rubbing my face on them anytime soon). Under the door had water damage...not really the hotels fault in my opinion. Maybe add a weather plate to protect it or at least cover it up. - shower knob.Requires a little know how and muscle. Had to call for instructions. To turn the water on pulls the center temperature knob outward (toward you). Muscle is required and it feels like it'll break but it won't. Turning it off is the same way, just push in hard.

When we returned late in the evening, we found roaches crawling on the nightstand and I was able to kill one. I reported this to the front desk and spoke with Cyndie. Her response was dismissive and came across as blaming, she said the prior guests "had no complaints," and after I showed her the video and photos I took, she suggested they "probably got in from the outside through the door," as if it were acceptable for roaches to be in the room. Cyndie stated she would notify the property manager, Rashad, and call me back. I followed up later that day and was told she still had not been able to reach him. It has now been almost a week, and I have not heard back from Cyndie or the property manager regarding the roach problem. I'm sharing this so other guests can make an informed decision. I would not recommend staying here unless the pest issue is addressed and management improves how concerns are handled. I also believe a response from management and an appropriate adjustment/refund for the affected room is warranted.

Unfortunately, the condition of the room was far from what I expected. To start with the positives, both the evening and morning front desk associates were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, that was where the good experience ended. The room itself was in very poor condition. The lampshades were visibly dirty, and one even appeared to have what looked like a speck of blood on it. There was a thick layer of dust--about an inch--on the back side of the TV, which made it clear that the room hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. One of the "clean" towels had visible skid marks on it, which was honestly shocking and unacceptable. It didn't stop there--there was mold above the door and also on the bathroom wall. Then, upon checking out in the morning, I noticed a tissue hanging from the ceiling in the shower. That was the final straw. I did inform the front desk associate when I checked out, but I'm still stunned at the overall state of the room. This goes beyond a simple oversight--it reflects a serious lack of upkeep and attention to cleanliness. I hope Red Roof Inn takes a closer look at this location and invests in the maintenance and sanitation it clearly needs. Guests should not have to question basic cleanliness when staying at a hotel.

When we arrived, the hotel grounds looked nothing like the photos on the website. The property appeared rundown and poorly maintained, and the room itself was old, outdated, and did not resemble the listing at all. There were groups of people hanging around the parking lot engaging in what appeared to be shady transactions, and the strong smell of marijuana was present throughout the property. Most concerning was the fact that the door to our room did not have a working interior lock. We did not feel safe at all. Due to the unsafe environment and misleading advertising, we made the difficult decision to leave in the middle of the night and drive six hours back home. This was an extremely disappointing and stressful experience, and we regret booking this hotel. I would strongly advise others to avoid this property.
