I only saw positive reviews and given the pictures showing modern decor, it seemed like a no brainer. Plus I usually do the chain hotels so wanted to give a small business a chance. Unfortunate mistake. The place is DIRTY!!! The sheets are stained, all sheets, blankets, pillows, were a disgusting yellow. There were strands of hair everywhere, on the pillows, under the blankets. The shower mat was dirty. The bathroom floor had shoe prints. The bathroom door is a barn door that is too small for the frame so there are gaps on each side. We couldn't watch any tv because it requires WiFi and the internet wasn't connecting. It is a mom and pop business I believe with the owners/ workers living in a room adjacent to the front office. I called at 5 pm the day of my reservation to confirm I did have a room as I had booked through a third party website. The gentleman who answered confirmed my reservation. I told him I would be arriving late, like 10:30 pm. He said that was really late. I told him I would try my best to get there earlier. We ended up getting there right at 10 PM. We stopped by at In and Out to grab dinner before we headed to the hotel. I had to ring the doorbell as the front office door was locked. Not a problem. I didn't have to wait long. The worker comes out from a door behind the desk and gives me my room keys. We go to our room, start eating our dinner while trying to work the tv to no avail. We gave up on the tv. By the time we finished dinner and were getting ready for bed, it was around 11 pm. That's when we noticed the room conditions. But as it was really late and I had already disturbed the worker once, I just took photos so that I could tell him in the morning. We slept on top of the covers as we didn't want to sleep between dirty sheets. When I went to check out in the morning, I showed the guy and his wife (2 people were there in the morning) the pictures I took and told them that housekeeping really needs to do a much better job as I did not have a good stay at all. They looked at my pictures and instead of apologizing, the guy states that he had just came back from a month's vacation and he hadn't checked in with housekeeping yet. I don't understand the positive reviews. But hopefully my room was a one off and they normally do a better job with housekeeping. Regardless, the fact that I was just brushed off when I brought up my concerns screams poor customer service. I wanted to give them a chance, but they didn't handle my concerns very well. Stay away from this place. The sheets are stained. There is hair everywhere. The tv requires WiFi but the WiFi doesn't connect. The bathroom barn door has gaps. The customer service is lacking. I definitely do not recommend.

There were large visible stains on it so we didn't use it to cover ourselves. Luckily we had extra blankets in our car we used. We had trouble getting hot water. It took long time to come out hot and at best we only got lukewarm. I wish management would have put a stop to late night noise and music from guests staying at hotel. We didn't get a restful sleep as guests were blasting their music until 2 am. Needless to say our stay wasn't all that restful.

They begrudgingly gave us bread and butter and a few other items but make sure you fet there on time. We hadn't been able to call down to the lobby to confirm the breakfast times because the phone in our room was just a prop with no cord and no connection. we tried calling the front desk, but there was no answer. That being said, the rest of the staff were very friendly. I would be grumpy if someone came to eat while I was trying to clean up, too. All in all, this property is to be expected for a middle of the road hotel where you don't stay long and get your points on for staying there.

It wasn't really the hotel's fault, but they made the situation much worse by not accepting the virtual credit card information at the front desk, and I wasted about 40 minutes dealing with payment issues--after a long day of traveling and working. The hotel room had no closet or hangers for shirts, and they didn't provide any bag for laundry. On the morning of checkout, the housekeeping lady was making obnoxiously loud noises outside my room, e.g., banging on the wall. I've had issues with housekeeping trying to hurry you up and get you to leave sooner, even though checkout time is 11am, but this one was the worst so far. So rude and unprofessional. And they had the audacity to leave a card in the room with a QR code to ask for a tip. I tore up the card and threw it in the trash for her to see.

The price was affordable and we had booked a few days prior. We were welcomed by the night time Innskeeper, Joan who warmly welcomed us. We were very touched by the warm hospitality and how helpful she was (shared her recommendations for food places and gave helpful tips and showed us a map of the area) She had us checked in less than 10 minutes and we were sent off to our room. The overall room was spacious, cozy, and clean. We had stayed on upper floor. The bed was cozy, there was cable, and the towels were fluffy. The tap water tasted good (they do a great job with the purification) and the shower pressure was perfect after a couple hours of straight driving. There are no elevators so please be mindful of that! They have complimentary coffee and danishes from a local danish bakery from solvang. There is orange and cranberry juice for those who dont want coffee or tea. This is from 7 am - 10 am. The area its self has golfing for kids, a heated swimming pool and the inn partners with multiple local shops and areas which offer you a discount if you show the little "passport card" they give you when you check in. Aside from that, housekeeping is splendid. Our first time experience went well and we are so excited to book again in the near future.

Disappointing Stay -- Severe Cleanliness Issues and Total Lack of Maintenance…read more We stayed at the Kronborg Inn on a Monday for the first time. It is an older property, which is fine, and our room was spacious with a decent king bed--but the total lack of cleanliness and hospitality completely ruined our stay. Front Desk & Service: We checked in early when the parking lot was completely empty. The front desk clerk took my information but said nothing at all about the property. No mention of amenities, the pool, or details about the Danish and coffee setup that it states on their website but apparently doesn't exist. They offer breakfast only on the weekends, but who knows where this is happening since we were told nothing about nothing and we saw no place where this would take place. As first-time guests, we felt unwelcome and completely uninformed. Filthy Property & Outdoor Seating: Walking around the first floor, the outdoor tables were old and dirty, and the chair cushions were torn, stained, and neglected. I wouldn't have had my dog sit on those chairs, and I don't have a dog. Our room's private patio had the same filthy, torn cushions, making it far too gross to actually sit outside. Dirty Room: The sitting chair and ottoman inside our room were visibly dirty and still had potato chip wrappers left behind from a previous guest in and around them. Gross Pool & Outdoor Jacuzzi: Tired from our drive, we wanted to relax in the jacuzzi. What a disaster. There were only two plastic lounge chairs, both completely filthy. Leaves covered the area and floated inside both the pool and the jacuzzi. The towels provided were a joke. We couldn't even bring ourselves to sit down, let alone get in the water. Unusable Bathroom Jacuzzi: The room included an in-room jacuzzi bathtub, which normally would be a great feature, but it was so old and unclean that I wouldn't even step foot in it. It is beyond me how management ignores torn cushions, filthy seating, and unkept amenities. The entire property is unmaintained, dirty, and a huge disappointment. I will have no problem never staying here again. It could look so much better if someone only cared, but you could tell no one truly does. I wanted to stay at a different place this time around and I did but what you see on website and what you get at times is a true gamble, I do say, "nothing is what it seems" and wasn't wrong this time around, but now I know and will most likely go back to the previous Hotel that I truly enjoyed last year and had a nice breakfast area as well and nice and clean, or who knows, but this place is once and done.

"Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of town and close to everything. My only downside was a very loud neighbor that disrupted my first night. That said, the staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure the rest of my stay was peaceful and enjoyable. Overall, I'm really glad I stayed here and would absolutely come back for another Solvang trip.

Knowing this, one of the bartenders kept one of the lodge member's credit cards. When the member asked for it back politely, the bar tender had him beat up outside. It was really ugly. Santa Maria Police Department say earlier situations like this have made Elks 1538 the laughing stock of Santa Maria until it got really rough. Sadly, the annual rodeo will continue to do poorly until Sr. Campas is expelled from the Elks, and Elks national disciplines the lodge.
